Senator John Curtis says, “Utah employers tell me time and again how difficult it’s become to find enough workers to meet growing demands.” Where, “Utah employers” is more accurately described as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
As a consequence, Senator Curtis (Utah) and Senator Mark Kelly (AZ) are proposing that individual states should have the right to issue H1B visas and import foreign workers without the federal immigration program in control. As the narrative is sold, there are no Utah Americans to fill the jobs available. That’s their story and they’re sticking to it.
[X Source – Story Link]
On the bad news side, there is no issue that shows the disconnect between the American public and federal politicians at a greater disparity than the issue(s) surrounding immigration and the various work visa programs. On the good news side, if you look at the comments toward ideas represented by Curtis you see about a 9/1 ratio against them.
Unfortunately, the DC politicians will not listen to the 90% against them, because they have unlimited power and affluence as delivered by multinational corporations and lobbyists like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (US CoC); the modern inverted Fascism.
Immigration and jobs are the issues above all other issues which will could maintain public support for MAGAnomics. However, the pressure within Washington DC to keep this primary economic issue under their control is massive.
On the communist side (Democrats), mass immigration keeps them in power. On the corporatist side (Republicans) mass immigration keeps them in affluence. Thus, the battle is really one of We The People against political elites on both sides.
In this dynamic the control mechanisms to keep We The People fighting over other ancillary issues serves the primary function of the UniParty.
EXAMPLE: Consider Charlie Kirk’s assassination. In the immediate aftermath of Kirks killing, everyone realized the violent nature of the cultural communists behind the transgender ideology. Democrats and Republicans alike were both united against killing American activists. The communists, corporatists and IC operatives quickly engaged to fracture the American unity. Israeli conspiracies were boosted, and soon enough the abhorrent, violent sexual deviancies within the cultural communist transgender movement were forgotten. The division creates the diversion.
The same issue of division is deployed against pragmatic deportation efforts. DHS Secretary Mullin notes that once it becomes political, meaning once the narrative is shaped to be divisive, then facing the core issue is avoided.
We imported around 10 million unvaccinated, medically unknown illegal aliens during the Biden era. Joe Biden and the culturally aligned NGOs moved them throughout the country. Then suddenly, as if we are not supposed to notice the timing, measles, chicken pox, whooping cough and other communicable diseases erupted again.
We notice attention is diverted to the generic issue of vaccination; as if a few hundred always unvaccinated Amish folks, could plausibly cloud the reality of the mass illegal alien influx as the main factor in spreading disease.
Mexican poop on imported lettuce is another root cause issue we are not allowed to mention. Why are we importing Mexican poop lettuce at all? We are not allowed to ask that question during the discussion, which coincidentally is the same type of information control which Senator Curtis is relying upon.
AFFORDABILITY CRISIS – We imported 10 million people who are non-functioning in a first world system. The illegal aliens are generally uneducated; most cannot speak the language; almost all don’t understand simple American customs and norms; they need housing, medical treatment, transportation and basic services. At the same time people wonder why housing costs, insurance rates and general commodity prices skyrocket.
Again, in the era of pretending not to know, we are not allowed to connect the cause and effect. Eat your Mexican poop lettuce and be a good compliant Comrade Citizen – direct your anger toward the narrated need. We need more federal Faucis to protect you from Mexican poop lettuce.
We do not need more H1B workers, or any visa workers at all. Cancel them all, then watch what happens to the wages and job opportunities of young tech Americans.
Deport 1 million illegal aliens per month; shut down all welfare systems and safety nets for illegal aliens; eliminate all healthcare services and taxpayer funded education for illegal aliens; make all systems for immigration status originate from consulate offices outside the United States – effectively eliminating the process within America; ban illegal aliens from access to banking and remittance payments, and begin the process of filing criminal charges against any/all employers who have illegal alien workers in their organizations.
Immediately suspend the business and regulatory licenses for any employer caught using illegal alien labor and watch the wages of blue-collar workers jump faster than the 30+ million empty houses and apartments can hit the market.
If illegal aliens are no longer fattening the profit margins for Big Ag, the multinational corporations will quickly invest in technology to compensate. Modern Big Ag follows the same model of Big Tobacco or Big Cotton.
Pretend not to notice that Holland has massive industrial agriculture without fields of row crops planted and harvested by illegal aliens from Mexico.
Decline is a choice. President Trump is proving that with his revitalization program around various Washington, DC memorials.
Importing Mexican poop lettuce is a choice.
The same is true of illegal immigration. The illegal aliens exist inside mainland USA because they are allowed to exist. If they were not allowed to exist, they would not be here.
Deport all illegal aliens, cancel all H1B and visa programs and we will prove we don’t need Senator Curtis’s bill. American wages will rise. American employers will compete for American talent. American benefits will expand. American housing and insurance costs will diminish. American life will improve and Generation Z will flourish.
Deport all illegal aliens.
Importing Mexican poop lettuce is a choice.

I have traveled all over Utah and have yet to come across anything resembling a big field of lettuce that needed picked. Arizona either.
Arizona is a big lettuce producer, second only to California in the U.S. Nearly all of it is grown in Yuma county in the southwestern corner of the state along the lower Colorado and Gila River valleys.
Used to go right in the fields down in Yuma County with a reefer truck they’d load you right in the fields, California too 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
That I didn’t know, thanks.
For starters Mormons are notoriously pro-immigration and spent the past 100 years in Mexico trying to convert Mexicans to be Mormons. On top of that Utah has never felt the horrible effects of illegal immigration.
I know, I lived in 95% Mormon country when I spent 4 years in Idaho and Wyoming.
Correct! There are far too many “asylum seekers” and “refugees” here who make no effort to assimilate. Salt Lake City & county are notorious for sanctuary policies.
Snake oil salesman with his pockets stuffed with money from the US Chamber of Commerce and other special interests.
Oh, yes, “rigorous” oversight from the Feds – just like the wonderful MEDICARE and MEDICAID programs legislators enacted, to name only two.
“He who commits injustice is ever made more wretched than he who suffers it.” (Plato)
He also looks like an older Pete Buttigieg

Thank God for you all with the sense of humor…we can laugh and find truth in the treehouse daily ❤️
Howdy Fruity
My thought was Howdy Doody’s ugly cousin!
Immediately, start demanding that the restaurants tell you where their lettuce in the salad came from.
Oh, that’s right…
They can’t,
they won’t,
don’t know,
don’t care.
Don’t order it.
My 14-yo grandson orders his Micky-Dee’s burgers now
WITHOUT LETTUCE.
You gotta start somewhere.
Sundance, you are making too much sense!
“Mexican poop lettuce”-hahaha
It’s everywhere.
Aka ” recycled waste water” got to make a dime on even that…
Although John Curtis is republican, I had to look him up to determine party affiliation because, note, there is no mention of party affiliation in his quoted Tweet/Deseret.com quote; IMO, proof-positive of Uniparty existence; repeal the 17th.
How does repealing the 17th end uniparty existence, in the Senate ? It just returns to the same corrupt system we had before it.
A limit of two Senate terms of six, maybe only five years each would have the most impact.
Exactly! Look how state legislatures in Indiana and South Carolina sabotaged adding Republican house seats!
Deseret.com is the LDS church’s mouthpiece; as is KSL tv.
Utah has party caucuses to nominate candidates; AND allows candidates to collect signatures to get on the ballot. Governor Spencer Cox was NOT nominated by the Utah GOP but got enough signatures to get on the primary ballot. I don’t remember what route John Curtis took. He’s a former Representative to Congress and former mayor of Provo. I consider him a RINO and a snake.
I have a better idea:
“ If illegal aliens are no longer fattening the profit margins for Big Ag, the multinational corporations will quickly invest in technology to compensate. Modern Big Ag follows the same model of Big Tobacco or Big Cotton.”
My idea is simple and it will work. Instead of fighting a losing battle against cheap labor and also spending trillions deportating millions of illegal citizens, do this one simple trick.
Offer incentives to American ag and to service industries, etc. to hire American workers. For every verified American citizen hired, offer tax incentives and payroll incentives to make it more profitable for businesses to hire verified American citizens than it is to pay the lower wages of illegals.
Easy peasy. Then slam shut the free benefits to illegals. No school, no, free housing, no SNAP no medical. The money saved here would provide trillions to offer incentives to hire verified American citizens.
Problem solved
Type it up and I’ll sign it!
If passed, suddenly big Ag etc will be donating to the senators who pound the podium and demand to expand the program as the Corporations will say they (magically) have more American citizens wanting those jobs than there is money available to subsidize them all.
LOL!
Sundance you crack me up , sometimes. I did mention a week or 2 ago, I did have mexico lettuce bought from Walmart about 3 or 4 times, thinking I’ll buy something more “healthy” for my gut to make it work better. Worse mistake I made, I POOPED handfuls an hour or 2 after eatting a big bowl of salad with all the fixings. I made that mistake a few times until I researched it on google. Lettuce came up as possible cause. Sure enough, once I stopped eatting the large salad with mexican lettuce, no more mad rushes to get to the bathroom which I failed to get to in time.
Anyway, you raising this ISSUE as issue … Is needed … how long did Walmart hide this issue from us, there was no warnings on walmarts site … at least when I checked a couple of weeks ago.
Scary when our government hides this stuff, and “healthy items” might not be that healthy like packaged lettuce from mexico.
I feel your pain; no, really, I do.
They think we’re stupid. There are programs in place to get their illegals picking whatever crop they think Americans won’t. Only those programs will cost employers more money. If they started fining companies for hiring illegals as they should be, then the cost to use the program becomes cheaper than paying massive fines for each infringement. Yet, here we are being told to just let the status quo remain the status quo. Frustrating is the tamest thing I can say about it.
Buying Messican poop lettuce is also a choice.
I noticed the correlation to food borne pathogens over a decade ago with Messican poop lettuce being the #1 offender. I stopped buying prepared food with lettuce in/on it & lettuce of any kind.
I don’t miss it.
Same here. We have had our own Victory Garden for almost 10 years now. My mother would be so proud of us, she was part of that greatest generation. Why we didn’t follow her example all along, I don’t know, but at least we started.
It seems people have forgotten Mexican p_ss in (Corona and other brands) beer. While potentially relatively non-infectious than fecal lettuce from Mexico, that people consume raw, mainly owing to the ~5% alcohol as a mild disinfectant, the very thought of this special ingredient from down south is enough for me to discourage all of my friends and colleagues to drink beer from there.
Thank you.
I forget that what I do not consume even exists…
And you just had to remind me, 😂
Sure as heck agree with that guy who wants to get rid of the senate. That’s one branch on the tree that needs to be trimmed off. Either that or send them home to their states and let the make decisions from there. In this day and age, sitting in a room while spouting stupidity. Tisn’t necessary. They don’t keep the IC in check, they don’t keep the judical in check yet have have no trouble causing the president to get nothing done.
If we repeal the 17th, US Senators would be chosen by the State Legislatures again, thus being beholden to represent to their States.
Please educate me about the alleged corruption of that system. The Federal Reserve, 16th Amendment (Federal Income tax) and the 17th were all enacted in the Annus horribilis of 1913.
As an owner of a construction company which hires legal workers, I say bust the bastards hiring illegal workers. -NOW
If I pay a laborer $20 per hour that has about 50% additional in benefits like vacation, holidays, health care. Now cost is $30 per hour.
Illegals will work for about 75% of prevailing wage. That is $15 per hour. My cost is double.
So if you have a nice $20 million dollar per year gross revenue business, assume 30% of revenue is Labor Expense. (other things are equipment, material, fuel, maintenance, and overhead).
That 30% is $6 million dollars. Cut that in half with illegals and you pocket $3 million of that labor expense. A 10% optimal margin of $2 million dollars now increase $3 million more to $5 million. Pretty damn good a 25% net margin
Since we mostly work on low bid, hard dollar, contractor at risk contracts we have zero pricing power. The companies using illegals can always cut prices.
I’m bitching because my CDs make a better margin than my construction company. Fortunately I have my BTC and lots of real estate, but the people asking (like this senator from Utah) for illegals are cheating.
On a good note, my work is usually of higher quality with less returns for defects. The companies that hire us when we do bid low enough are delighted to have us. But when I ask, “about that clause in the contract that I claim I only hire legal workers, when are you going to press the issue with the other contractors? They don’t want to do that because their business benefits from the lower costs created by illegal workers.
“my work is usually of higher quality with less returns for defects.”
Cut rate contractors will be doing things like using 2 nails when they should be using 4, etc. As well as flagrantly violating OSHA laws, etc.
Can someone explain how we have a labor participation rate the lowest we’ve seen since 1975 and yet we have a shortage of workers?
From the St Luis Fed.
https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CIVPART
Demographic changes such as the aging of population can lead to a secular increase of exits from the labor force, shrinking the labor force and decreasing the labor force participation rate, but maybe it’s also related to too damn much government money for NOT working?
Removing the benefit of economic immigration will disincentivize many, but we also need to remove benefits from Americans that should be working, instead of being on the dole.
Not sure if they count immigrants as part of the whole but it would be interesting to see how the pro immigration lobby responds. If they count for this number, there are many more Americans sitting home, if they don’t count, is it all because of ageing? I doubt it. Evidence is all the healthy protesters out there during normal working hours.
Senator Curtis, are you aware we have a lettuce picking workforce right outside many federal buildings?
AND inside those federal buildings… A lot of them aren’t fit for much more than picking lettuce.
When they are awake.
The current and previous generation do not have the same work ethic. I retired 4 years ago. I’ve noticed two things (well, many more than 2 but those are for another conversation), indifference and incompetence in people 15 to 20 years younger than me, generally speaking. There are few exceptions. Younger people just don’t care. If they’re not going to get a 6 figure salary right out of college, they don’t want to do anything unless it’s out of necessity, but even then, they don’t want attitude, sheesh. Glad I’m retired.
Many older Americans are still working – out of necessity. I’m almost 70 and I still work, and probably will until I drop dead. Don’t have the money for lavish “vacations”, and I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I didn’t work. There are many like me.
SFTOBEY said, “Many older Americans are still working – out of necessity.” Yes, I routinely see them at Walmart – I know they are putting in the hours to pay the bills.
My husband only quit work just before he turned 70, because of a terminal cancer diagnosis. Both of us always worked and I do not recall that we ever “took a vacation”. We took road trips to visit family and enjoyed those. But we did not “take vacations”. Oh. We did take one weekend to go to “the North Shore” – Bemidgi, Minnesota – and enjoyed that very much. We did move cross country three times which is a “progress killer”, in terms of income, for blue collar man (diesel mechanic) and office-worker woman.
There’s one thing I never did figure out during all the FIFA chaos: all of these people were carrying on about “how much Americans had that they didn’t” and “how good we had it” ad nauseum. And I kept thinking of a question that I never heard answered at all: where did they get the disposable cash or credit lines to be able to book the flights, live out of their luggage in overnight facilities (much nicer that most of us have ever seen) and then keep on eating out – and yelping endlessly about how big the portions were and all the free ice and refills?
Most of us can’t afford to do what they were doing, even for a few days.
What is a vacation? I’ve never had one. I once spent a week on a bus going from Sheppard AFB, TX to Minot AFB, ND. Does that count? Every time the bus stopped at a diner, the grill was always closed and I ate peanut butter crackers for a week. I washed my hair in a sink in the women’s room. I did have enough underwear to last the week. I kept them in my purse. That trip cost me $50, so I could save the per diem money for tech school in the U.S.A.F.
I can explain it easily, I see it every day.
There is no low labor participation rate, there are many that have left the Matrix, walked away, they work under the table.
They’ve figured out alternative means of living..
There is a thriving world of bartering and living far leaner because guess what, people are done.
Guess what happens when the cat is outta the bag and everyone knows how corrupt the government is: they stop playing.
We have far too many able-bodied working age people who are on the public dole. The OBBBA was supposed to re-institute work requirements: but I guess it’s a slow process.
I live in Big AG country and the one thing i NEVER EVER see ANYWHERE is any postings for “Farm Help Wanted”
so do not tell me that Americans do not want these jobs, I have a white American neighbor who usually does farm work but can not get a job on a farm here.
Traditionally, farm help has been the youngsters of the nearest town. I spoke with a MN dairy farmer who said those young people will NOT do farm work because they prefer sitting at home playing video games with an allowance from their white liberal momma thinking that very soon they will be a boss at a big company. Youngsters don’t mow lawns or any of the other neighborly things that need doing.
Too many of them now want to be social media “influencers”, as if that were a real job. Ridiculous.
Minimum wage laws do not help the situation.
We had an ad in the paper for picking tomatoes here in North Fort Myers, FL. When I called they said I didn’t have enough experience for picking tomatoes for a quarter (.25) a bucket. I told them I picked tomatoes for my dad when I was a kid. They said no bueno.
As a Generation X’r, I have a better idea that served my generation and myself very well. There is an entire workforce perfectly tailored to this manual labor that dropped off the map a while back. High School graduates looking to make a little scratch while they decide their next move (whether it be college or some other vocation). Personally, I worked RR Track demolition as well as in an orchard picking fruit to make money for college. IN FACT, I’d like to see such manual labor a condition of securing student loans (to an extent). Salary of the applicant used as collateral. Instead, the last couple of generations are perfectly content to have it handed to them regardless of the source. Then, they are perfectly content to ignore the consequences of those decisions. We have the people to “pick lettuce.” It’s just that those people don’t have the ambition or scruples to understand personal responsibility.
I picked apples one year between high school and the Army… Only person of my complexion out there picking… In 1983.
Yep. I worked in a tobacco warehouse in the South during the summer’66 in the fields of N. Ca., after school and in the summer of ’69 to get money for gas and dates, etc.
Afterwards I moved on to Construction, being the Majordomo at a high zoot restaurant, an employee at a glass wholesale company, and security at a Hospital before I volunteered to serve in Uncle Sam’s Yacht Club.
All while I was in my teens and working on my Louis L’Amour checklist. Just because…
Tobacco work in the south in the summer used to be a rite of passage for teenagers.
Dad grew weary with my constant, ah, requests for a trip to the toy store/or a new part for the minibike, etc. so he introduced me to that – from where money comes- Passage early on…
“Education of a Wandering Man”, Louis L’Amour. Great book. Highly recommended.
I picked cherries in the 70s – lots of kids in my neighborhood did.
Every high-schooler needs a part-time job after school & weekends in service or labor of some kind… it serves up many life lessons early in life; it helps orient one’s internal compass.
Yep and high school jobs were everywhere. Gas pumps, box boy at the grocery store, sweepers, you name it.
Mine was @ Tom’s Drive In – Hamburgers, Hotdogs, FrenchFries & Onion Rings, 6 flavors of liquid candy (soda) & a decent variety of Ice cream treats.
One location in all the world – right next door to Bob’s fillin’ station.
I bought my first car with the money I earned there.
One of the most valuable lessons I learned, ever, was told to me by Tom:
“Just’cuz it’s wrote down in a book don’t make it so.”
I worked in hospital housekeeping and Sears the summer and autumn before I went in the Air Force, before I was 18. I worked in a bank the year before that when I was 15 going on 16.
Absolutely!!! The biggest life lesson it taught me was that I didn’t want to do manual labor in the long term. If nothing else, it was a great motivator. Bonus: on Rail Road demolition, my team used to get matched up with a bunch of Prison Work Release guys, which itself was educational. (For example, when the Union guys showed up in their black cars to check membership, the work release guys set off fireworks and the Union guys scurry the hell out of there fast).
“… matched up with a bunch of Prison Work Release guys, which itself was educational….”
LOL! Teens learning effective management-relations work-skills from convicts – Mercy!!!
Until the government fears the people, instead of vice-versa…things will never change.
I live in close proximity to the Amish, buy their produce and hire them for carpentry whenever possible. They built my deck in 2021 and I spoke with them daily. I asked the “Boss” of the outfit if he ever heard the joke about the guy who asked one of them:
Q: Why aren’t the Amish, who are unvaccinated, affected by the Covid “pandemic”?
A: Because we don’t watch television.
He told me he had heard it several times before and we both laughed
I live in PA in the heart of Amish country – right now in my neighborhood measles are all over the place! There are some unvaccinated Amish around me, but most have the measles shots.
And the really odd part? Even the vaccinated ones are getting the measles!
I live somewhat close to the Amish. I have a handcrafted custom-made dining room table that was made by an Amish man I met years ago. He and his family are wonderful people. I buy a lot of my meat, dairy and produce from Amish farms. They make the best cream cheese and apple cider I have ever tasted. One thing I will not buy are their premade potato and macaroni salad because they put sugar in it.
An Amish crew did the framing on our new house. They did a great job.
The Amish have been a huge factor in helping with the recovery efforts from hurricane Helene in the mountains of NC.
I agree 100% . We do not need all the imported labor. If we don’t have the skill then train an American. Of course you may have to pay them a living wage. The profit margin is never big enough for many of the fat cats. Evidence is the recent earnings of the oil companies. Keep up this manipulative greed and we will have more communism than we have now.
“almost all don’t understand simple American customs and norms”
This is huge. People are not plug and play from one culture to another.
I work in tech and train new hires on our computer systems. The more distant from western culture they are the more likely they won’t fit in and will be fired. I not only have to teach immigrants how to do something but the reasons behind doing it. I’m teaching them to think like an American.
It’s so nice to train an American new hire because I can say a few words and they understand the whole concept.
A couple months ago I noticed someone who used our office men’s bathroom was peeing all over the inside of the toilet, the outside of the toilet, the floor, the walls. I couldn’t understand how anyone could be that bad a shot. One of the janitors came to me and said they saw it was someone on my team and asked if I could talk to them. So I had to teach this man from a third world hell hole how to use a toilet. I was embarrassed doing it. I couldn’t tell what he was thinking.
Yes, they will stand balancing on top of the toilet and squat. They are used to squatting and crapping into a hole in the floor (or in the ditch, or in the bushes.)
I have been growing my own lettuce, spinach and Japanese mustard greens in a Garden Tower and Click and Grow system for about 6 months. It was a costly start-up but now I am “reaping” the benefits and no explosive poop!
Call it what it really is: indentured servitude, and agricultural slavery. Both of these practices were supposedly outlawed by the 13th Amendment. But that thing is obviously not worth the piece of vellum it was handwritten on.
“Affordability Crisis~We imported 10 million people who are non-functioning in a first world system. The illegal aliens are generally uneducated; most cannot speak the language; almost all don’t understand simple American customs and norms; they need housing, medical treatment, transportation and basic services. At the same time people wonder why housing costs, insurance rates and general commodity prices skyrocket.”
10 million is too generously low, because 4 million are in MASSACHUSETTS !!
If the country was in need of an enema they would have to insert the hose in Massachusetts !
Actually, we need more than one hose
Well, first of all, wages aren’t growing at a fast enough rate to suggest any sort of labor shortage.
Even if they ever do, the way to address it is to begin constricting the payouts of the welfare state so that laying about is a lot less comfortable than going to work.
Problem solved. Now tell this jerk of a Senator and his cronies at the US Chamber of Crony Capitalism to eat some imported lettuce.
We have been told there is annual fraud totaling $500,000,000,000. Defund the fraud! Cut all programs and reduce the appropriations by that amount. Cut our taxes, too. Stop redistributing our coerced Federal Income tax payments with no oversight!
Sundance and some of you nice people probably remember when either congress or supreme court said it was ok for Companies to give money to politicans to get elected.
Can you guys remember it, … my mind is a little foggy how long ago it was. I knew at the time, that that would be a stupid idea.
I liked it better when only small contributions to politicans was “the law of the land”, or at least I thought that was what happened (maybe I was naive).
Anyway, the supreme court as made some very bad decisions in the past … and still makes some bad decisions currently.
Back to Mexico POOP lettuce situation … and helping to get the word out to the masses.
Citizens United
{ https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/citizens-united-explained }
{ https://campaignlegal.org/update/how-does-citizens-united-decision-still-affect-us-2026 }
thanks for the links, checking them out …so 2010 was the year Supreme Court made the rulings to allow unlimited funding to politians and entities.
From one of the links AmaraGrace put in his post:
“The Supreme Court’s 2010 ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission is a controversial decision that reversed century-old campaign finance restrictions and enabled corporations and other outside groups to spend unlimited money on elections.”
Hence we have the best Government money can buy…
Hate to tell you, but we always have, at least since The Fed came in!!!
SCOTUS 2010 ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission reversed century-old campaign finance restrictions that allowed corporations and other outside groups to spend unlimited money on elections.
If we make it impossible for them to vote ever ! The insufferable grifters will mass deport every single one of them
Mark Kelly – enough said.
In the near future there will be robotic machines that harvest the lettuce. 🥬. Other crops too.
At least if they spring a leak, you only get machine oil on the lettuce.
Then all you need is a little vinegar.
Japanese Robot-grown no-poop lettuce
Am I to understand that the unemployment rate in Utah (and Arizona) is ZERO? If not, then there are workers available without having to import them. Also, if there are able bodied Utahans and Arizonans on public assistance then there are workers available, especially if those who are on public assistance have children in child care facilities or schools.
It is maddening to think that we have allegedly intelligent people in Congress who are too stupid to realize the immigration ponzi scheme being perpetrated on the American taxpayers.
if on welfare and required to work 20 hours a week then follow up with a job previously done by an illegal or not eligible for welfare if they will not work
John Curtis is not among the “intelligent people in Congress”, if there even are such!
“Deport all illegal aliens, cancel all H1B and visa programs and we will prove we don’t need Senator Curtis’s bill. American wages will rise. American employers will compete for American talent. American benefits will expand. American housing and insurance costs will diminish. American life will improve and Generation Z will flourish.
Deport all illegal aliens.
Importing Mexican poop lettuce is a choice.”
Sounds like a plan!
Big Ag is only concerned with profit. Cheap labor increases their profits. Ergo, they lobby public officials to abet this goal.
They want to privatize the profits and “socialize” the liabilities: Welfare, SNAP, Medical, Housing, Education, etc.
a state that cannot survive without importing foreigners should be disbanded and absorbed by another state. states that import foreigners to the detriment of the other states are traitor states and should be expelled from the union.
You are talking about all 50 states. None of them are innocent
We are at war from within. The only fix is the 2nd Ammendment and until that happens we will be subjected to tyrannical government. Unfortunately most don’t have the backbone for what needs to be done. prepare accordingly. 3%.
Mexico had deliberately been dumping human waste on all the fruits and vegetable fields for decades.
It’s not just the lettuce it’s melons especially cantaloupe and musk and honeydew and everything else which is a national security problem.
F Mexico and if it’s not local it’s not consumed and if it isn’t cooked do not eat anything from Mexico.
The failed Narco State kills over 100.000 Americans yearly via Chinese fentanyl and it’s no big deal to DC just like the raw sewage Mexico dumps on food bound for the U.S. consumers and it’s not tested by the FDA at the border.
oh gee Sanjac … it is far worse than I thought. melons/cantaloupe, honey dew, etc … dumping human waste on all fruits and vegetibale fields for decades.
oh gee, … Thanks Sanjac …. needed info … but hard to know what is safe to eat, now. Oh gee (sorry repeating myself)
as a joke, should I be praying for manna from heaven to be left on my lawn every morning.
God, guide me to the food you want me to eat. Thanks GOD.
On our honeymoon in Manzanillo Mexico, August ‘01, my wife(first MX trip) was disgusted by the smell of human faces in the ag fields between the airport and our hotel, El Cid. Our driver let us know that is how they fertilized the local
Produce. My wife hardly ate veggies on our honeymoon.
I’ve always been concerned about produce from Mexico. Whether or not it was grown on top of sewer sludge, toxic buried waste, irrigated with sewer water, fertilized with human sewage, etc.
A few years ago, China was feeding pigs melamine (think Melmac plastic dishware) to fatten them, as well as putting it into pet food, killing many pets here.
TRUE STORY: In high school, some friends played a round of golf on a really hot day, and drank water from the faucets on the golf course. After they all got very sick, it was revealed that the golf course irrigated with sewer water from the nearby sewer treatment facility.
So does anyone think that the same workers who poop in the Mexican fields won’t poop in the fields here ?
It’s very common everywhere. Don’t think that the American lettuce is any safer.
Goes for any leafy vegetables, not just lettuce.

I was part of a legal Foodborne Illness defense team. We were defense for the major nationwide fresh spinach E. coli outbreak in 2006 (among many subsequent E. coli outbreaks). By the time it was determined the exact way the animal feces contaminated the lettuce, the media never bothered to cover it.
The spinach was grown in southern CA farm. On the other side of the fence surrounding the spinach acreage was a pig farm. Pigs grazing ultimately broke through the fence and wandered through the spinach acreage defecating throughout. No one bothered to fix the broken fence. Well, rain and/or the water irrigation system mixed with the animal feces and the water went up through the spinach leaf root system into the spinach leaf vein. It didn’t matter that spinach was 3xs-prewashed, bc the E. coli was inside the spinach leaves.
We were defense for a very sad E. coli outbreak in NC, might have been a fall festival, but there was a petting farm where kids got to pet the various animals. Being NC the land was hilly, not flat. The animals did not defecate in the petting area. It rained and the water mixed with the animal feces and the mixture drained downward to the petting area. Many children in the petting area contracted E. coli infections. One 2-year old died.
In another national E. coli outbreak, it was concluded that the winter snowbirds in an RV camp (FDA/CDC never determined the exact source during the outbreak anyway) were dumping sewerage in public streams which went downward and …well, you get the picture.
I could go on. We handled almost all E. coli outbreaks among other foodborne illness infections over an 8 yr span.
Re: Mexican Poop Lettuce
Cyclospora outbreak is a parasite that only grows and reproduces inside the human gut and shed from human feces.
So how does human feces get spread all over a lettuce or fruit acreage?
Through the water, the irrigation system. The water is contaminated with human feces. We’re talking Mexico. Remember that catchy little phrase, “It’s in the water”. Literally, in can be contaminated water. The period at the end of this sentence can be the size of the infectious E. coli bacteria.
100% agree with Sundance, importing Mexican Poop Lettuce is a choice. If we still have foodborne illness outbreaks, check any produce grown in southern CA as the source. Immediately quit eating any food suspect. It can be lethal.
Eating poop lettuce is a choice. I am fortunate to be able to grow my own produce.
You and me both. Mrs. Taxurfeet and I have had a kitchen garden for four decades and we buy our meats from local ranchers…
President Trump promised the largest deportation effort in US history on day 1. Today is day 562. Either the scale necessary was severely miscalculated, or he is just not living up to that promise.
Perhaps my patience isn’t what is used to be, but things seemed much better in DJT term 1. Business and wages in my area were booming, economic outlook was bright. Term 2 focus is shifted oversees, and raising a young family of 3 kids making 6 figures is now a struggle. Maybe it’s just that Covid destroyed our economy beyond repair. Either way, things seem far worse today than they were on 8/4/2018.
Thought experiment: if picking lettuce paid $1000 per hour, would they still have no-one willing to do it? Clearly not. So, we know it’s just a matter of price. Let’s have no yammering about capitalism and socialism while the government keeps distorting the markets by driving wages down with imported labor. Pay the domestic workers a wage where the market clears. That’s the real wage for the job.
Mark Kelly wants states to have the right to import terrorists (aka visa alien), with no restrictions….
So states can allow illegal invasions.
Another communist “work around” to get illegals in our country.
Illegals who will become a standing army.

This excellent commentary begs the question, who owns this country, anyway? Do the citizens own it? Do their wishes matter?
Gradually all levels of government have changed the language. Instead of citizens, government now refers to the needs and desires of the “stakeholders.”
I believe this is deliberate. Stakeholders own most of the nation’s assets. Government works with stakeholders in public-private partnerships. At a certain level, both need not respond to ordinary citizens at all. So if the stakeholders want cheap, foreign labor, the government will enable it. And elections matter less, these days.
“Senator John Curtis says, “Utah employers tell me time and again how difficult it’s become to find enough workers to meet growing demands.””
Is that so? Quit handing out free food and all the other free shit to the able-bodied deadbeats in your state and see how fast that turns around, “Senator.”
The future is here. Controlled environment, controlled water usage and no more 💩.
“Importing Mexican poop lettuce is a choice.”
That is certainly the truth but it’s only part of the truth.
Importing Mexican poop lettuce is a choice that was made for We The People by the UniParty politicians and bureaucrats who run our country.
They never asked us for our input. We never voted for it. Those UniParty functionaries simply designated themselves as “The Choosers,” seized the power to make the choice, and then pocketed the filthy lucre they grabbed for making the choice.
And we call ourselves a “constitutional republic?”
God bless President Trump for his efforts in restoring constitutional republicanism in our country.
Pay the rate required to hire lettuce pickers fairly. Maybe the cost of a head of lettuce should be $6. If the economics doesn’t work then close the business.
Are we really importing the stuff? Keep in mine we have the same workers in our fields. Do you think they’re watched? One of the places, a farm, was in the US and Mexico. Are we safe eating US when products here are handled by the same.
i would like to see this and the foundation post (link below) combined into a tutorial
on the uncomfortable truths regarding illegal aliens in America –
and then disseminated everywhere via every possible means.
there is no valid rebuttal.
it outs all the ugly and refutes all the excuses.
maybe then Big Ag will get to work on an automated lettuce harvester.
the CoC can eat poopcumber sandwiches until then. 🤣

It is not just for agriculture, they also want construction workers. I for one am tired of seeing local carpenters and electricians replaced by illegals.
