While his invoking the Fifth Amendment would not be admissible against Fauci in a criminal prosecution, asserting his privilege today in good faith would imply that his conduct during COVID could be construed as criminal.
Senator Paul seemed surprised by Fauci’s tactic, presumably because Joe Biden pardoned Fauci for all federal offenses related to his service in government between January 1, 2014 and January 20, 2025.
Maybe Fauci has committed crimes after that date (01/20/2025), or maybe his lawyers think there is some loophole in the pardon, perhaps relating to potential state offenses.
Or, most likely, what Fauci fears is not prosecution but reputational embarrassment. The recently released documents show pretty decisively that Fauci was a fraud who repeatedly misled the American people.
Fauci committed the perfect crime, and he got away with it. A man who lectured America non-stop had nothing to say when asked to explain. Those pardons sure do come in handy.
Dr. Fauci took the position that it’s better to be silent and be thought a heinous criminal than to open his mouth and remove all doubts.
It wasn’t his first. He was knee-deep in the AIDs epidemic, which just happened to appear at a politically convenient time to attempt to derail Ronald Reagan.
You are correct, the government cannot compel you into speech. That right is extended to every citizen regardless of your candidate crimes. Sadly he was pardoned, the die was cast the day auto pen Joe drafted the pardon. The pardon was to protect Joe and the DNC not Fauci.
It is time for Rand Paul to make a criminal referral for Fauci before a military tribunal.

Yesterday on Howie Carr’s Boston talk radio program, his Poll Question Of The Day was about Fauci and should we move on and move forward and 92% said NO.
There is deep anger and I believe it’s because there isn’t a single American whose life wasn’t harmed in some way, shape or form because of what they did to us during this scam cooked up and led by Fauci.
I’m not sure that the President understands how big this anger is.
So many lives were destroyed, deaths of loved ones, careers lost, lives fell apart, divorces, loss of education, it’s immeasurable, it’s not fixable, we can never get back what we’ve lost and the losses are massive and life changing- life wrecking for so many.
We must hold them all accountable, this is all we can do at this point.. and that in and of itself is also maddening.
If Fauci was dragged through the streets it wouldn’t be enough.. it’s that bad -and of course we’ll never see this.
In my opinion, and I don’t say this easily, this is a death penalty case.
Fauci should be tried and receive the death penalty- and I wish it could be more and worse, but that is the highest level of punishment we’ve got.
