At the conclusion of the discussions in Switzerland, Secretary of State Marco Rubio spent time emphasizing the two groups attained a very important objective. Putting all other issues aside, they had formally mapped out a communication strategy for deconfliction between U.S. and Iranian leadership.
Meaning, if everything starts to go sideways both the USA and Iran agreed to the mechanism for immediate talks. Even if fighting and hostile action was taking place, the deconfliction agreement laid out the process to keep both sides in direct communication. This is not like the “red phone” approach toward nuclear deconfliction, even if both sides were in the midst of red zone brutality against each other.
This urgent deconfliction assembly is exactly what appears to have been triggered, when earlier today President Trump announced via Truth Social that U.S. and Iran delegations were going to meet in Doha.

Both President Trump and Secretary Rubio well understand that as long as a direct communication process is in place, all of the various regional escalations can be managed safely.
Some element within Iran attacks a ship; the USA retaliates and takes out critical infrastructure. The conflicted point does not disrupt the communication process. This is the optimal solution approach.

If the US could have, it would have decisively ended the Iran debacle already. The point was not what we have been led to believe. The point was to continue diminishing the US and showing the world that.
The action is succeeding in these goals.
Let’s start with a given. Iran is untrustworthy. They have lied consistently since 1979, when it suited their purposes. Part of the Quran says:
‘It is not lawful to lie except in three cases: something the husband tells his wife to please her, to lie during war, and to lie in order to bring peace between people.’
The Iranians are trying to run out the clock on Trump’s Presidency. They feel a Democrat administration will bend to their will. That’s been the track record.
I hope Trump plans to go along with the MOU until after the midterms and then, whatever happens, bomb the crap out of them and bring them to their knees. Anything else is a study in futility.
Same ole’, same ole’………You do realize the President has two and a half years left in his term and has veto power?
Democrats give them pallets of cash.
Trump gives them Epic Fury.
I trust President Trump will take care of business.
American voters must see the facts as they are and recognize that President Trump’s way is best.
He is taking the high road, minimizing civilian casualties and preserving infrastructure.
He is talking and open to peace discussions.
We have and want to keep our allies together in the long term.
Keep Iran totally isolated and force compliance with the help of friendly Gulf neighbors.
Or, accept a Middle East with nukes in every country.
I really hope we don’t see that kind of future, anytime soon.
Remember, Europe has been totally useless as an ally for a long time. We cannot count on them.
They cannot even defend themselves. Britain has no Navy to sail. The rest of the countries are just as bad.
They don’t take sides with us anymore.
We need to work with like-minded allies where we can find them.
We’ve got Iran in a headlock, now. They can’t get out of it, but are struggling and fighting it.
We need to hear them say, “Uncle!”
A free Iran controlled by it’s people is a peaceful Iran.
Or do we want a copy of North Korea in the mid-east?
President Trump is handling what no other American President would touch for 50 years.
That is taking care of business.
