I recall the bicentennial celebration in 1976. It was an exciting time. The U.S. mint produced special anniversary quarters, half-dollars, and one dollar coins. I saved all those from my paper-route days and still have them. I also got a few special edition 40% silver content. We should be celebrating the 250th, because I don’t want to have to wait another 50 years for the next milestone. 😉
