Colorado Governor Jared Polis has commuted the sentence of Tina Peters who will now be released on parole June 01, 2026.
Peters was convicted in August of 2024 of three counts of attempting to influence a public official, conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, official misconduct, violation of duty, and failure to comply with an order of the Secretary of State.

COLORADO – […] Mesa County District Judge Matthew Barrett was preparing to resentence Peters as directed by the Colorado Court of Appeals, which found in April that the nine-year sentence he issued “was based in part on improper consideration of her exercise of her right to free speech.”
“Her offense was not her belief, however misguided the trial court deemed it to be, in the existence of such election fraud,” the appellate judges wrote. “It was her deceitful actions in her attempt to gather evidence of such fraud.” A date for her resentencing hasn’t been set.
Polis told The Sun he opted to wait until after the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled on Peters’ challenge to her sentence before taking action.
“I had many of the same concerns that the appeals court,” he said, “which was basically that because of her unpopular and incorrect conspiracy beliefs, she was punished more harshly than usual for a crime that she committed. I’m a strong supporter of free speech. I share and vehemently disagree with the way Tina Peters chooses to use her free speech. But it’s a free country, she’s free to do it.” (more)

Polis is taking action against murderous people, years after Tina Peters should have been set free already. But given whatever gangster politics are going on in Colorado, I give Polis credit for finally commuting Ms. Peters’ unjust sentence. It is frightening to go up against criminals who will stop at nothing

I don’t give the guy who publicly referred to Colorado residents as selfish bastards for refusing to wear a mask during Covid, then showed up on a public street a few days later without a mask, any credit at all.
In fact, I get the impression Polis was likely informed the DOJ Civil Rights and other divisions were gearing up for a full look at things in CO unless he decided to see the light.

He’s termed out and the 2 biggest D candidates are Sen Bennett (only gets in the news 3-6 months before an election) and our state AG Weiser that has sued our POTUS multiple times, costing us taxpayers A LOT!
Amazing how she was pardoned yet they refused to release her and the Autopen President can pardon the whole group and some serious crimes were committed to the American citizens in every state and not one state made a sound while a Joint Chief slob Miley goes unpunished by the military Pardon or not.
She was not pardoned. A pardon erases the conviction.
Her sentence was commuted, i.e., reduced to the time she’s served. The conviction is still on her record.

This said, absolutely ecstatic for Tina & her loved ones, but Polis deserves ZERO thanks, praise or appreciative recognition for finally getting around to do the right thing!
I was just listening to Tore says…. she is friends with Tina, and she is saying, although Tina is getting out, they way she is getting out wont bring out the election evidence and wont set precedence – meaning that they can still arrest you for your political opinion…..

Her release is far overdue, so thank God. When I did a search for Tina Peters, many of the results were reports from the propagandist media and made me wish I had a punching bag to hit repeatedly over how they framed her story: “Election denier”, “attempted to overturn the 2020 election”, and so on which shows how much of a hold the the left still has on what most people read and hear. Still waiting for news about whatever is under investigation about Dominion and their software for election machines that the DOJ is looking into. Not holding my breath.
CO is obviously a political cesspool. I’m glad I don’t have to see that pervert governor or his bolshevik compatriots in my daily news. I hope PDJT squeezed their funding and precipitated this action.

She suffered over a year in jail, right? Thank God she’s alive with her health problems. It could have been a lot worse. Greg Kelly had a family member if Matthew Perna on tonight and it’s so sad to hear what an average person’s reaction to a roughly 10 year sentence like hers was. It tears me up and tears me up.
