Colorado Governor Jared Polis has commuted the sentence of Tina Peters who will now be released on parole June 01, 2026.
Peters was convicted in August of 2024 of three counts of attempting to influence a public official, conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, official misconduct, violation of duty, and failure to comply with an order of the Secretary of State.

COLORADO – […] Mesa County District Judge Matthew Barrett was preparing to resentence Peters as directed by the Colorado Court of Appeals, which found in April that the nine-year sentence he issued “was based in part on improper consideration of her exercise of her right to free speech.”
“Her offense was not her belief, however misguided the trial court deemed it to be, in the existence of such election fraud,” the appellate judges wrote. “It was her deceitful actions in her attempt to gather evidence of such fraud.” A date for her resentencing hasn’t been set.
Polis told The Sun he opted to wait until after the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled on Peters’ challenge to her sentence before taking action.
“I had many of the same concerns that the appeals court,” he said, “which was basically that because of her unpopular and incorrect conspiracy beliefs, she was punished more harshly than usual for a crime that she committed. I’m a strong supporter of free speech. I share and vehemently disagree with the way Tina Peters chooses to use her free speech. But it’s a free country, she’s free to do it.” (more)

BS, she was punished for a federal crime the State of Colorado committed, as part of a continuing conspiracy to deny President Trump a second term.
State and Federal law crossed the lines of federalism in Tina’s case. Federal law is supreme when this happens.
They rigged the charges, making them uniquely State offenses. The biased judge made sure she didn’t get a fair trial. The prosecutor and judge made it look like Tina was a conspiracy nut, trying to overturn the election.
It pisses me off that Federal Marshalls vis a vis the military did not come knocking at the Colorado prison door as soon as President Trump took office, a year and 5 months ago. She is a witness to a federal crime. I think he should still do it. Get her out NOW! Not one more day in jail. The State of Colorado is the criminal, not Tina.
One of the many decisions or lack of that is not the President I elected….. The Citizens have been put on the back burner. Does the re-sentencing proceed? Seems it should since length of sentence determines length of parole, right? There’s no reason for her to even be in the parole system.

This is a crime committed by Peters against a Christian man I know who was hired for computer work in her office. Before he could begin, his official ID was taken to be used by another male to work on the machines – criminal impersonation.
This action / offence caused the Christian man’s home to be SWATTED by the FBI. His family was investigated because there was potential for wire fraud associated with Peters’ actions.
My knowledge was acquired from a long conversation with the gentleman.
My opinion will be contrary to all of you:
Peters may have been correct in wanting to preserve evidence of fraud, but the Out of State Trump Supporters who swarmed in around her during that post election season may have pushed her in the wrong direction of “the end justifies the means” mentality.
God does not agree with that mentality. He is greater and able to do things above and beyond what we could ask for or think. He knows the truth.
He also loves Peters, who is supposedly His child. If so, you can bet that He is dealing with her on this matter of not trusting Him and following Him to do the what He wants for truth to come out into the open.
We read here on these pages how God leads Sundance and causes truth to come into his hands to dissiminate to the public.
We see how God is causing things to be brought to light so that consequences will arrive at the doorstep of perpetrators. We also see that God does not rush this process.
How can we think that God would not have done the same with Peters if she had sought Him and followed His instructions/leadings. We know that God would not lead Peters to commit criminal activity. This is indeed an act of MERCY on His part. Maybe God has had His way in Peters’ life.
At the time of my conversation with the gentleman, he indicated communication from the FBI that the angle of wire fraud associated with his ID was being held off, out of the prosecution she experienced. Maybe they found something, maybe they did not. Maybe others did things in her name, maybe they did not.
Time will tell.
May her spiritual hands and feet be clean before the Lord.

The governor could have issued her a pardon and immediate release but I guess that would have looked too much like the right thing to do.
She was a whistle blower. She was exposing criminal activity by politicians and bureaucrats. I have no doubt that all whistle blowers technically break laws when they collect evidence to release publicly to expose a crime. The whistle blower laws are intended to prevent prosecution for these technical incidental issues and in this case they did not. I am glad she will be released BUT the more important thing is to go after those who persecuted her.
Whistle blowers are only protected when they go after republicans.

To the governor of Colorado and his public officials, a word to the wise is sufficient; release Mrs Peters immediately and in good health.
That’s how it works. The head of state has tje authority to pardon or commute sentences. Sometimes it’s favorable and sometimes it’s not.
After reading Tina’s statement, reads like a hostage letter., even Apologizing and agreeing she was ‘wrongg’….reads like coercion.
I thank God she’s being released and hopes she moves to Texas or Florida and SUES…. hope she files a suit in red district red state where she may get justice..

Keeping her locked never really made sense to me, because they have other ways to cancel someone like Peters without turning them into national martyrs.
Are they delaying her release to the last moment for a reason to protect themselves from some sort of malicious prosecution or for a statute of limitations to pass, or???
If she could move to another state to sue, it explains their willingness to suffer the consequences of the growing public awareness of her unjust confinement.

Polis is also granting clemency to a man who shot a deputy in 2008. The deputy still suffers from his wounds.
