Colorado Governor Jared Polis has commuted the sentence of Tina Peters who will now be released on parole June 01, 2026.
Peters was convicted in August of 2024 of three counts of attempting to influence a public official, conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, official misconduct, violation of duty, and failure to comply with an order of the Secretary of State.

COLORADO – […] Mesa County District Judge Matthew Barrett was preparing to resentence Peters as directed by the Colorado Court of Appeals, which found in April that the nine-year sentence he issued “was based in part on improper consideration of her exercise of her right to free speech.”
“Her offense was not her belief, however misguided the trial court deemed it to be, in the existence of such election fraud,” the appellate judges wrote. “It was her deceitful actions in her attempt to gather evidence of such fraud.” A date for her resentencing hasn’t been set.
Polis told The Sun he opted to wait until after the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled on Peters’ challenge to her sentence before taking action.
“I had many of the same concerns that the appeals court,” he said, “which was basically that because of her unpopular and incorrect conspiracy beliefs, she was punished more harshly than usual for a crime that she committed. I’m a strong supporter of free speech. I share and vehemently disagree with the way Tina Peters chooses to use her free speech. But it’s a free country, she’s free to do it.” (more)

Why now? Carrot, or stick? POS doesn’t make a move unless it’s in his best interests.

As such, Federal Marshalls vis a vis the military would have come knocking at the Colorado prison door. I think they should still do it. Get her out NOW! The State of Colorado is the criminal not Tina.

It appears that Polis commuted her sentence by 50%.
Total sentence was 8 years + 9 months…Commuted to 4 years + 4.5 months.
That period (4 y + 4.5 m) ends on June 1.
I’m thankful that Tina Peters was released.
We can’t forget, though, that this was just a commutation, not a full pardon.
This means that, in the eyes of the State of Colorado, and recorded on her permanent record, she was/is guilty of a felony and is forever labeled as a convicted felon.
This is unconscionable.
It was the government of Colorado that committed crimes. Tina Peters exposed their crimes, so the State prosecuted and convicted her in a kangaroo court/political show trial. Then the State locked her up.
I pray that justice and retribution are served good and hard to the miscreants in Colorado’s government who so flagrantly trampled on Peters’ God-given liberty. First in civil court, and then in the Heavenly Court in the Kingdom of God.

She is still *heavily victimized *- her conviction stands… it’s not expunged she remains a “convicted felon”.
Admission of guilt & apology was part of the conditions for release – she’s going to be under the thumb of the parole board and only God can inspire them to stop punishing her with more violations of her freedoms – pray about that, btw.
She will eventually get her wrongful conviction to SCOTUS – she did her job, followed the law & caught the cheaters; I hope I live to see the day she’s totally vindicated; and she does too.

That is why I provide no cover nor quarter to Polis for this action nor hold any misgivings towards Tina for her voiced contrition of her persecuted actions. This poor woman needed to do what she needed/needs to do to secure her freedom. Even in Special Operations SERE courses they only expect you to hold from breaking for a minimum of 72 hours which allows enough time to alter the operational conditions. All this said, may her & her family now have peace.

She was not pardoned. A pardon erases the conviction.
Her sentence was commuted, i.e., reduced to the time she’s served. The conviction is still on her record.
And she will still be on parole which for all intents & purposes is “doing time” outside the walls; subjected to petty rules, diminished freedoms we all take for granted, and most likely, a surly parole officer with a f**cked up attitude.
A Federal pardon is for Federal offenses, State charges would require a separate pardon from that State’s Governor.
What are the terms of her parole? Do we know?

Her release is far overdue, so thank God. When I did a search for Tina Peters, many of the results were reports from the propagandist media and made me wish I had a punching bag to hit repeatedly over how they framed her story: “Election denier”, “attempted to overturn the 2020 election”, and so on which shows how much of a hold the the left still has on what most people read and hear. Yes, the law says election records must be kept for 22 months after the election. But the Colorado officials wanted to do a reset of all the computers, which wipes out all the previous election data. Tina Peters did her duty as election clerk and backed up the data. When people who believed the election was rigged found out about the backup, they asked for a copy. I was at Tina’s trial in Mesa County. One of the people called to the stand was the head of the Mesa County IT Department. Tina had asked Mesa County IT for help to make a backup copy of the Dominion servers, and they refused to help her out….. Said they weren’t trained on Dominion software. One of the jurors then passed a follow up question to the judge, to the effect, Tina requested the IT department help several months before the upgrade was planned — wasn’t that enough time to get their people trained up? The IT Dept head was not sympathetic to Tina…. IMHO, she (IT Dept Head) should have been fired for lack of support to the county. If Tina couldn’t get help from the county IT Dept with her request, what the heck was she supposed to do???

The main reason her imprisonment was so egregious is because there was rampant election fraud across the country and none of those people who committed fraudulent acts are in jail. As far as I know. I use to live in Colorado and did during this case. I was surprised that she was convicted instead of the SoS, she just made a back up file to the voting data that she was told, illegally, to delete. It was actually a CYA because at that time nobody had any idea the extent of the nonsense that went on during that sham election. No one could believe Polis won that election along with Biden and some others I thought right away it had to be those voting machines. It was the first year we used them.
