Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent appears on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo to discuss current geopolitical events and the ramifications for the U.S. economy. It is a rather lengthy interview and discussion that touches on numerous key points.
Bessent notes the upcoming meeting between President Trump and Chairman Xi of China is still on schedule and U.S. Operation Financial Fury against Iran is yielding good results. I had no idea the U.S. government has made $30 to $40 billion from the Intel backstop. WATCH:

Mr. Bessent is a most valuable treasury secretary for the Trump Administration, best I have seen.
Agree 100% !!
Bessent has certainly done an outstanding job! Additionally he is very articulate and communicates in a way that reasonably intelligent people can understand what he is explaining (he doesn’t dumb down his explanations, but he doesn’t talk above the level most people can understand).
I would be hopeful for a Republican President again in January of 2029 who can and will carry the MAGA torch and that several cabinet members like Bessent and RFK Jr can continue in their posts or similar support positions to continue the great work they are doing.
I am NOT tired of winning.
The only way this continues is if we have no fraud or next to no fraud in our elections. The current legislation in congress MUST pass and be signed into law- Thune needs to make it happen. If he doesn’t, I would consider him not only a traitor to the party and traitor to Trump, but a traitor to our country and the Founding Fathers of our Country.
Let us continue the success of this administration for the future generations.
I also must comment on Maria, she is an excellent interviewer; she asks pertinent and compelling questions and gives her guests ample time to fully answer before moving on, great job Maria!
The key to her effectiveness is that she is not attempting to insert combative, ideological biases as her enemedia counterparts do with their prewritten scripts.
She has an IQ which dwarfs theirs.
She is essentially having a conversation, not a political grilling.
She is not interrupting.
She is a professional.
What a difference!!
She is listening.
Many of Bartiromo’s questions organically follow the conversation.
It’s nice to watch and listen to what is a normal back and forth.
The enemedia (I like that one Betsy) has pre-formed ‘gotcha’ questions that are inserted.
The enemedia just don’t have a clue how obvious they are.
Another much less well known anchor is Jan Jeffcoat (and her stand-in Angela Brown) of The National News Desk. She is an absolute joy to listen to and watch along with their interviewees.
Too many of the mainstream media’s interview questions sound calculated to protect the interviewer from being questioned “why didn’t you ask…” by their peers over cocktails later.
Satisfying your Journalism professors in Journalism School is good preparation for that kind of CYA instinct.
And no “gotcha questions” like little Georgie Stuffitenoughous of Bimbo Eruption squad fame!
Maria is professional CFR. Over the years with her it’s either pretend and hide inconveniences or openly report things deemed necessary for the greater consumption.
The deep state cannot stop Trump so it’s pretend or try to hide or in this interview spigot wide open. Just saying Lest we forget her connections. IMHO
Absolutely!
“$30 to $40 billion from the Intel backstop”
Nice chunk of change against the national debt? Let’s not sell just yet….
It is a big amount of money but to put it in perspective, it would barely pay for one week of the annual interest on the debt. Current numbers estimate that the annual interest is $1.4 Trillion.
Another perspective would be that our Congress currently spends more than $20 Billion a day!
For the 1st half of fiscal 2026, October through March, spending was $3,651,372,212,037.
Double that for the second half of the 2026 fiscal year and you have a total of $7,302,744,424,074 spent.
Divide by 365 days of the year and Congress will have spent over $20,000,000,000 per day this fiscal year.
The numbers are astounding.
And in return for their anything but frugal spending, we get, ……………
Correct, Congress is the problem. They possess the checkbook. (At least the House)
After reading all the other threads on the Sunday talk show circuit it’s good to read some sensible questions and answers compared to the other shows.
Powell says insatiable demand for data centers? More collection of our personal data? I have no insatiable demand for data centers or a gilded ballroom and bunker? Thoughts? But I will pray for all evil in this world. And our president.
How much is that ballroom costing you?
0000000$
Agree with you on the data centers
I still have not figured out the benefit of a data center .
It’s costing American lives. All of the recent decisions have been a huge disappointment for me at least.
Please pray, (rebuke) all evil in this world!
Amen!
I’m in east central Missouri and they are building data centers at break neck speed, buying up every farm they can. Highway 70 is being re-worked supposedly for the data centers. People are concerned about their water and electric availability. Just saw a local article this morning where huge earth moving equipment tore up a black top road to get it to the farm where it will start tearing down trees. Local government officials are losing their jobs at election time because people are not happy with what is going on. But find out too late to do anything about it. Someone at MODOT discovered roundabouts, now there is enough roundabouts to make you dizzy before you get where you are going. Life used to be so simple.
Thems that control the food and energy controls the masses. The creator of the universe sees every man’s heart. Vengeance is Gods alone. But all of it is costing us taxpayers dearly.
I agree 3X, I’m 69 and lived a lot of life. After COVID I have become much wiser.
I can also tell when people are peeing on my leg and telling me it’s raining, Have a blessed day.
Bessent is a financial genius.
I recall reading that Bessent had been working for Soros and brought the Pound Sterling problem to his attention. They shorted it and Soros made his money.
We have the right man in the right spot.
Perhaps Bessent wants to “atone?”
May God bless him and bring him the wisdom necessary for the job.
MAGA.
This man is a rockstar ! Very impressed !
An idle thought just weaved its way through my barely caffeinated brain…
I wonder if Elizabeth Warren owned any shares in Spirit…
If so, how many?
Does she still own them, if any…
And if she has sold them…if any…when did she sell them?
Worth asking I think.
Saw a blip this morning she sold 20,000 shares of Spirit 2 weeks ago.
Surely just a coincidence 🤑
Ditto.
My mantra…
There are no such things as “coincidences”.
