The ships trapped in the Persian Gulf stayed trapped in the Persian Gulf. Only a handful of ships attempted to run the Straits and it’s not clear they were even covered under this new program.

CIPS is China’s cross-border payment system that bypasses SWIFT.
However, I now submit that it is this very “territorial control over water” that is now at last(!) being challenged.
