This is a rather unusual approach for President Trump to take. President Trump draws attention to the Texas Republican senate race between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton, which will now turn to a run-off election.
As noted in his Truth Social post, President Trump will be endorsing one of the two candidates and subsequently asks the non-endorsed candidate to exit the race.
[Via Truth Social] – “The Republican Primary Race for the United States Senate in the Great State of Texas, a State I LOVE and won 3 times in Record Numbers (the HIGHEST vote ever recorded, by far!!!), cannot, for the good of the Party, and our Country, itself, be allowed to go on any longer. IT MUST STOP NOW! We have an easy to beat, Radical Left Opponent, and we have to TOTALLY FOCUS on putting him away, quickly and decisively! Both John and Ken ran great races, but not good enough. Now, this one, must be PERFECT!
My Endorsements within the Republican Party have been virtually insurmountable! It is such an honor to realize and say that almost everyone I Endorse WINS, and wins by a lot, especially in Texas! I will be making my Endorsement soon, and will be asking the candidate that I don’t Endorse to immediately DROP OUT OF THE RACE! Is that fair? We must win in November!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
I hope President Trump doesn’t endorse John Cornyn! 😬

Somebody on here suggested that maybe he will endorse Cornyn in return for the Save Act passing. Not sure how I feel about that, but it may be on point.
Cornyn is in bed with Thune so I agree with your assessment .. Cornyn for the Save Act …
Do whatever to get the Save act passed and then do whatever to get Paxton in.
A lot can happen in the time between the Save Act passing and the general election. For example, Cornyn could get indicted for something. Or a scandal could pop up.
Don’t tease me Goose.
Possible: deal cut for SAVE AMerica act passing and other things with thune/cornyn. Cruz to scotus and Paxton appointed as Senator
Very interesting thought; like it. Who do you think on Scotus would be exiting?
Alito
Gees. I hope not. Both Sam Alito and Clarence Thomas are the ONLY ones in the SCOTUS that we can trust.
One of those ladies with three names…..
I concur.
The problem with that idea is that Texas would still be stuck with Cornyn for another 6 years!
I would rather President Trump to off Cornyn some fluffy administration job or post.
Ambassador to Antarctica!
Or Paxton to scotus and keep Cruz in senate leadership
Cruz has said in the past that he did not want to be on The Supreme Court.
Paxton should NOT drop out, no matter what. Let Trump endorse Cornyn. He will still lose to Paxton. It’s obvious the voters want Paxton. Having Paxton drop out is the only path for Cornyn to win.
I don’t think Paxton would drop out.
Any advice for getting that image out of my head? I didn’t ask for that.
Can Cornyn be trusted to deliver??
No
There are vays…
Absolutly NOT. He has alsways been Mitch Light.
NOPE
Stabbing a very popular President of the US in the back, when he has over 3 years left in office, would be more than unwise.
No way, about as much as the Washington Post, which, BTW, is running an article that the MAGA base is mutineering about Trump’s Iran action, i.e., Epic Fury. No mutiny from this corner.
I’m guessing the Save Act would have to pass BEFORE Trump would make the endorsement.
If they don’t pass the Save Act, Paxton will still likely win BECAUSE of the fact Cornyn voted no on the Save Act. That will make people furious and see right through Cornyn.
The ONLY way Cornyn will be able to win is if he passes Save Act AND gets Trumps endorsement.
Maybe if we can’t get save passed, PDJT has that EO in his back pocket.
I would be very hesitant to pass an EO or easily overturned law instead of a TOUGH Senator for 6 years!
In the words of Aldo the Apache, “I’d make that deal” however, that’s the only valid reason to do it. Also, not a Texan so I don’t have a say.
Jumped in to suggest just that, in the correct order.
If a RINO votes for MAGA, can it learn to roar?
The strong-arm tactics by the Repugnant Senate have to be stomped out. Literally if necessary.
They must not be allowed to control the executive. Ever.
WORTH IT if we can get CLEAN and VERIFIABLE elections on a single flippin’ day.
Personally, I want to see MORE Paxton Action. He has been a warrior fighting the Texas RINO establishment. I can only hope the people of Texas can see and understand what has been going on. Texas needs to be led by white hat cowboys, not black hats.
I’m a Texan. Been living elsewhere but Texas is home…. just so damned weird when I visit. It needs to be restored.
If Ken Paxton does not win the endorsement because of the horse trading mentioned above, maybe he can do other important work on behalf of the Republic…
Repubs always Surrender before the battle. Why not Force Thune to Deliver???
And?
I agree. Tell Thune that if he wants an endorsement, pass the Save Act first. And Paxton should stay in the race anyway, because it’s clear he will win if he does.
Yeah. Ken Paxton can STAY in the Senate race. Or Texans will need to do a HUGE write-in campaign for him.
Write-in votes are not counted unless they are on a list approved by the Texas Secretary of State. There are rules about how to get onto that list. IIRC, the application must be made no later that the day before the primary.
Endorsement does not guarantee the endorsee will win the election.
Especially if the covert plan is to launch a social media campaign inside TX to boot Cornyn because of his horrendous voting history against preferred MAGA policies, and support Paxton.
Non starter. Cornyn is not the lynch pin to get the Save Act passed. They do not have the votes. McConnel is no, Murkowski is no, Collins is maybe, Fetterman, maybe, Tillis most likely no and maybe more.
Collins is yes.
For the moment.
And Hunt who came in third with nearly 300,000 votes holds significant sway. He can pledge his votes to either, with the most likely scenario of him endorsing Paxton. In any event, Cornyn needs to go.
Hunt deliberately spoiled the primary
Somehow I see some of the millions that Cornyn spent ended up in Wesley’s pocket.
Just because Hunt pledges doesn’t mean those voters pledge. Hollow action.
Hunt revealed himself to be a uniparty stooge.
Indeed he did!
Rand Paul announced today he will vote yes on ‘talking filibuster’
to get Save Act to floor.
Wonder what Paul demanded to get him to change his vote?
Another 5000 Filipina nurses.
Hey it worked to quell his objections to unanimous consent on dirty googlewhore Mike Lee’s immigration changes.
😳
LOL…
They always have the number of votes they need, it’s all about the price.
The Republican Conference in the Senate can replace Thune and pass the SAVE Act:
https://newsletter.amuseonx.com/p/if-thune-will-not-move-the-save-act?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=840660&post_id=189916148&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=ho93x&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email
I was just about to post the same thing. As much as I would like to see Cornyn retired, the Save act is more important.
It would also tell Cornyn he is only there because of Trumps endorsement and he is now owned by Trump
NO NO NO
Then I’d wait for the Save Act to be passed before announcing my endorsement. You can’t trust the GOPe as far as you can throw them. If you look at the people supporting Cornyn, it’s Thune, Tillis, Scott and others. The usual suspects.
As time goes on, I am more and more uninspired with Trump’s endorsements.
He promised no new wars and here we are at war with Iran. The people who voted for him on this campaign promise feel betrayed. Texans who despise Cornyn will be furious. How any of this helps MAGA is beyond me. Paxton did a lot to fight the Biden administration. The Bushies tried every which way to destroy him and failed. He deserves Trump’s endorsement.
The people that were single issue voters and voted for Trump because they’re against war should know that during “negotiations” the Iranians boasted that they had enough for 11 nukes and it would only take 7-11 days to have them ready – so war was already on our doorstep – after all we are the Great Satan.
Steve Witkoff Presidential Envoy, said that regarding Iran’s very recent negotiations.
People that vote over a single item are foolish. Knowing how evil the Iranian government was especially to their own people, they needed to go. I am so proud of our president for finally doing what every president for the last 47 years refused to do.
I read a while back that Thune had debated running for Governor of South Dakota as his family was looking forward to being home, but he was “persuaded” to serve in McConnell’s role in the Senate. I believe that the article said he intended to return afterward to run for Governor.
Thom Tillis is retiring and doing as little good as possible on his way out the door. He is the one who hosted the Doggie Parade Contest ON THE SENATE FLOOR about a week ago! Yes, for real. Of course, the Senate simply hasn’t had the time to pass the Save Act!
Not sure if any of the others are planning to leave after their present terms, but there is little that would entice them to work FOR their constituents at that point (assuming they EVER did)!
If that is true, and if it works, I’m okay with that. Politics is dirty business.
Is it a concern if the Save America Act is passed by the congress how can we be sure the states will follow the law of the land?
Another possibility is trading up to Paxton for attorney general. Much more impactful.
I agree, but Paxton absolutely makes the liberals go
C…R…A…Z…Y !!!
While that would be satisfying to watch, I don’t think THIS Senate would confirm him.
If THAT were the case, he should do it.
Getting the SAVE act passed is CRITICAL.
I believe it’s about nuking the filibuster, then passing the Save Act afterwards without Libtard filibustering.
IF, and that’s a big if, Cornyn voted to support the SAVE Act, and Thune actually took steps to see it brought to a vote, another six years of the likes of Cornyn in the Senate is a steep price to pay for it. It’s like realpolitik justifying another six years of Lindsey Graham. I’d like to think that things are not quite that dire as yet.
Once the primary is over, any agreement with Cornyn and his ilk would be akin to any similar understanding with the Russians or Chinese – subject to be broken, and almost certain to be. And once the primary is over, the president would have no choice but to endorse the Republican winner against the Democrat – his leverage would be gone.
J
Passing the SAVE Act first should be the President’s condition for any endorsement, and such endorsement should not come until after the bill is passed and on his desk. He can’t make a deal based on a “promise” from these guys, who are pure sleaze.
However, I would advise Ken Paxton NOT to drop out of the race. If he does, Texans will have to generate a HUGE write-in campaign for him.
I thought a voter could write in a candidate at any time. However, another commenter on this post said that write in candidates had to be established before the primary election.
I wouldn’t take that bet SD….Susie and LaCavita have been signalling he will be endorsing Cornhole soon….
It’s “deal time.” But I like Paxton as a fighter. He needs to run for Texas Governor.
If he keeps listening to Wiles, it’s going to be same old, same old. And if he endorses a backstabber to his agenda to someone who actually stood up….. loyalty is a two way street
And that worries me! There are a whole lot of Texans who drew the line at HOLDING THEIR NOSES AND VOTING FOR RINOS LIKE CORNYN EVER AGAIN!
My family in TX want Paxton.
I will not cast a vote for Cornyn no matter what.
Sitting it out is a vote for Talarico, an evil person. I will sadly vote for the lessor of two evils.
I quit voting for the lesser of two evils after voting for Bush and got the “Patriot Act”. I just don’t play their game anymore. It’s okay if others want to but I know of atleast 3 votes that will go to Paxton for senate and will not vote for Rino Cornyn.
4 here are solid no if it’s Cornyn
6 more here. That I personally know of.
I’m making an exception to that rule for this President only. Keeping the majority is crucial at this time.
If Texas ends up in the Blue state column, the country is in dire straits.
Once again, see what I mean (a couple comments above)?
Sitting out an election is so petulant and cowardly!!
Letting perfect be the enemy of good is the Republican mantra. If PDJT has worked a deal to gain leverage that is best for our Republic you can bet Ken Paxton will go along–he is like the mother in the King Solomon story who gives up her baby to save its life. Paxton will do what is needed. Texas voters need to do the same.
Texas voters need to do a monstrous write-in campaign for Ken Paxton should President Trump endorse the RINO. Texas voters should be able to vote for whomever they bloody well choose, regardless of any “endorsement” by President Trump.
I agree.
My family won’t sit out the election if Corny runs. We simply won’t vote the office.
Don’t do that. Have ALL Texas Republicans engage in a huge write-in campaign for Ken Paxton if that happens. Most Texans know who they want representing them in the U.S. Senate, and it isn’t RINO Cornyn.
Talarico is genuinely evil. Anyone who put on a cloak of faith and then endorses the demonic practices he does is asking for major punishment come end times. In the meantime, I live in Texas and will be doing everything I can to expose
the poser.
Also, please… If President Trump is forced to “endorse” the RINO Cornyn, try to convince Ken Paxton from dropping out of the race – or help organize a huge write-in campaign for Ken Paxton.
If Ken Paxton decides to “play nice” to please President Trump (should the president “endorse” Cornyn), then Texans can do an enormous write-in campaign for Ken Paxton.
So often it boils down to the lesser sociopath.
Same!
Same, NEVER
So, you’re going to vote to the dem. Hope you enjoy being a traitor.
If Ken Paxton drops out of the race, then Texans can do a monster write-in campaign for him in Oct. and Nov.
Thanks. You need to research if that is possible in a run off. A commentor above said that even write in candidates have to be declared before the primary. I don’t know if that is correct or not.
See what I mean? Exactly what I wrote just above!
This is unusual. The only reason I can see him endorsing Cornyn is he makes a deal with him concerning something he wants passed through the Senate now before the mid terms.
Or someone who has his ear has convinced him that only Cornyn can win the general. There’s a lot of that talk out there now.
I think that’s the RINO talking point. A lot of MAGA won’t show up – we have seen it happen over and over again.
MAGA had better show up – unless of course they want President Trump impeached (and possibly removed). Ken Paxton, if he really wanted to play their game, could simply refuse to withdraw from the Senate race – or Texans from all over the state could organize a massive write-in campaign for Ken Paxton.
If it’s not Paxton it’ll be the death of MAGA.
No it won’t.
Continued election fraud will be the end of the COUNTRY. The next time the left steals the country, they will NOT give it back.
Then the Senate should bring up the legislation now, today. I don’t live in Texas, but endorsing a corrupt loser like Cornyn is not a step in the right direction.
Bending to the will of the GOPe to get legislation passed – legislation that is supported by 80% of the country -would be the action of a stone cold loser.
We in Texas Want Maga Ken Paxton, NOT RINO Cornyn! I wouldn’t Endorse Cornyn in a trade, unless He passed the Save America ACT 1st!
The criticism of Paxton is that he is controversial and has had charges brought against him in his impeachment. I thought he was guilty of corruption after just listening to the media and then I actually listened to the trial on YouTube. There was nothing to the charges and I believe they were brought by democrats and RINO republicans who worked with democrats. I was shocked by the lack of evidence. It is like Fanny and James and all the other democrat prosecutors who brought charges against Trump. It was like the panty raid at Mar-a-logo. There was nothing there. So, if you are concerned by this concerning Paxton, please listen to the trial.
I watched Paxton’s attorney destroy the plaintiffs. He was so good I will never forget that trial!
24-years is enough.
Just put Mitch McConnell’s face on Cornyn.
That’ll do it.
Paxton all the way!
I hope that if he does endorse Cornhole, Paxton stays in.
He’s already out as TX AG & that was a huge loss for both TX & the nation to come up empty now.
I think he’ll endorse Cornhole in exchange for the Save America Act.
He will appoint Paxton as the US Attorney General to replace Bondi.
Paxton isn’t getting approved in Congress.
As if the Repugnant Senate would confirm.
If the Senate owes PDJT though he might get confirmed.
The Senate owes only their pimps… er donors.
Sounds good but Senators will never let Paxton become AG.
No Paxton is a big loss for TX and MAGA … a trade of Paxton for Scammy Jo would be epic but do we really believe scum-king Thune will allow him to be confirmed? I don’t. Given that, endorsed or not, I hope he stays in the race.
Everything is a negotiation especially with the RINOS.
How can President Trump get SAVE AMERICA ACT across the line?
That’s a benefit to all.
An AG Paxton would be another benefit to all.
I don’t how else anything gets moved forward.
Corn-in needs to go !
MAGA and conservatives want Paxton because he will lead in America First agenda items. RINO’s definitely want Cornyn because he will continue doing as he always does; working for the party and himself not the people. If the deal is in for him to vote for the Save Act, it’s a little win but we have to put up with him for six more years. I know where the treehouse people stand on this.
If it means passing the Save America Act and having Cornyn indebted to you why not? Paxton would be great in the DOJ. Just my 2 cents.
Paxton would be great in the DOJ however, Cornyn won’t feel “indebted” to President Trump, McConnell wasn’t. Cornyn will just do what he always does which is betray the people of Texas.
I want it to be Paxton, but I think it will be Cornyn. I really hope I’m wrong.
Agree on both counts… Sadly!
I heard he will endorse Cornyn. Maybe Art of the Deal to get the Save Act passed and would it be nice if he nominates Paxton for AG with a guaranteed senate confirmation.
I’m in Texas and won’t vote for RINO Cornyn. Grassroots will stay home in General.
You don’t want that freak Talerico though–think logically! He is for open borders, trans mutilation, etc. etc.!! Trust PDJT!
Yes, by all means let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Much better to stay home and let the evil man who says Jesus loves abortion because God gave Mary a choice on whether or not to let her pregnancy with Jesus go to term. And that there are six genders. Talarico cloaks himself in misquoted scripture in a ruse to convince Texas voters that he is a moderate. Note to voters; he is evil. Well, if you refuse to vote the lesser of two evils, you will end up with truly, deeply evil. Your grandchildren won’t thank you.
Don’t stay home! Get together all of the republican voters you can and organize to have a giant write-in campaign for Ken Paxton. I know who most Texans want [actually] representing them in the U.S. Senate.
Paxton is the man !! We pray for discernment for POTUS
What about nominating Paxton to Supreme Court? If the Senate is beholden to PDJT because he saved Cornyn then he may have the leverage to get him voted in.
There’s no opening for a SCOTUS nomination.
Let’s not horse trade Alito or Thomas for Cornhole. That makes the betrayal impossible to swallow.
Thinking that if we have a solid R majority after midterms then the AutoPen Justice may be nullified-paving the way for a MAGA Justice.
That simply will not happen without divine intervention.
Too old. No chance of that happening.
The scumbags in the Senate would NEVER allow Ken Paxton to be either AG or on the USSC.
Is Thune to be trusted? Is Cornyn? Anyone remember what McCain did at the 11th hour?
No. No. Yes.
I thought Thune had agreed to fast track President Trump’s nominees — like, a year ago. One more reason I don’t trust Thune…
There’s another reason not to trust Thune: He’s letting the senators go on “vacation”, but keeping enough flunkies around so they can prevent a Senate recess. That keeps President Trump from making any recess appointments – just like B (rhymes with witch) McConnell did to President Trump in his first term as president. I have never seen this done to any other president. But President Trump’s own party has – and continues – to do it to him. I just can’t despise these bassturds enough.
Agree… although they did the same with Biden, too. Go figure.
I remember what Juan McStain did.
Save Act and get every pending nomination passed that’s held up by eliminating the Blue Slip corrupt rule.
After reflecting a day I’m a hard no to Cornhole Mitch. Paxton as AG guarantee with SAVE Act and all nominees would be tempting though.
That is not a “black – letter” U.S. Senate rule but a traditional courtesy afforded by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
While Senators usually are not the dominant or decisive players in the process of selecting circuit court nominees, they, nonetheless, do enjoy certain prerogatives in the process. Once a judgeship in a circuit becomes vacant, Senators in states falling within the circuit are free to suggest names to the President’s Administration regarding possible nominees. If the Administration has indicated which state it wants the judgeship to represent—whether in keeping with a traditional state seat or in a break with that tradition—the Senators of that state, if they are of the President’s party, customarily are among those who recommend candidates for the judgeship. Senators of the President’s party, one authority has written, ‘expect judgeships on the federal courts of appeals going to persons from their states to be ‘cleared’ by them.’ If the home state Senators are not of the President’s party, they nonetheless have expectations—based on the Senate Judiciary Committee’s long-standing blue slip policy—that they, too, will be consulted by the Administration for their views about the prospective nominee.
Perhaps the most forceful input Senators can provide to a President’s Administration regarding potential circuit court nominees is strong disapproval of a particular candidate from their state. If the candidate is nominated in spite of their objections, the Senators, whether of the President’s party or not, will have important Senate traditions in their favor if they decide to oppose the nominee in the Senate. If they are of the President’s party, the Senators know (and the Administration will know as well) that they have the tradition of senatorial courtesy to call upon. As one scholar has noted, Senators can invoke senatorial courtesy effectively against a circuit court nominations, provided they are of the President’s party and the nominee is a resident of their state. Hence, input from such Senators in forceful opposition to the candidate amounts to a ‘negative recommendation’ that the Administration would likely take very seriously, to avoid Senate rejection of the candidate based on senatorial courtesy.
Senators who are not of the President’s party, by contrast, ordinarily would not be expected to invoke senatorial courtesy to oppose a circuit court nominee from their state. They, however, can take advantage of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s blue slip procedure to bolster their opposition. In the event a candidate objectionable to them is nominated, the Senators, as discussed above, may register their disapproval at the committee stage by declining to return a blue slip or returning a negative blue slip to the Judiciary Committee. Such action by a home state Senator, experience has shown, can jeopardize or doom a nomination, depending on the blue slip policy of the committee’s chair.
During some chairmanships in recent decades, the policy of the Judiciary Committee has been to allow, in some instances, committee consideration of a judicial nomination receiving a negative blue slip, or no blue slip, from one or both of the nominee’s home state Senators. When such a policy is in effect, a Senator’s negative blue slip, or failure to return a positive blue slip, does not foreclose the possibility of the committee reporting the nomination to the Senate. It, however, at the very least, draws the committee’s attention to the concerns of the home state Senator and to the question of what degree of courtesy the members of the committee owe that Senator’s concerns.
A nomination is much more in jeopardy when the Judiciary Committee policy in effect is not to consider any nomination for which a home state Senator has not returned a positive blue slip. When such is the committee’s policy, a home state Senator’s opposition to a judicial nomination, through use of the blue slip, eliminates any chance of its being reported out of committee (in effect killing the nomination), unless the Senator can be persuaded to drop his or her opposition.
IMO, this is another example of the Senate reading the “advise and consent” clause of the COTUS as “dictate and control”.
Texan here. Cornyn is a POS. The conservative base here detests him. Endorsing Cornyn would be a huge mistake.
I don’t understand, if Paxton is so popular why didn’t he get over 50%? Hunt’s voters won’t necessarily vote Paxton or they would have this time, knowing how important the vote was.
OPEN PRIMARY here in Texas. However, that was also on the ballot so hopefully we get some sort of integrity in our primary elections.
He is very popular in the MAGA voters, unfortunately, Texas has a lot of RINO Bushie voters too.
I don’t trust any elections anymore. Who says it was an honest election? Especially with the Bush influence down there.
Then Ken Paxton should refuse to drop out of the race. Either that or Texans will have to construct a monster write-in campaign for Ken Paxton.
So is Ken Paxton going to drop out when Trump endorses Cornyn like Trump demands?
Are the MAGA folks who are all-in with Paxton and screaming that Cornyn is a useless RINO going to go full cult and immediately fall in line?
Nope.
Treeper Alert: “For The People” is a Trump hating, MAGA hating troll. This comment isn’t isolated. Troll account that’s antagonistic in every single comment. Adds nothing to these discussions, only here to provoke. Let’s not feed the trolls.
No
The only way the SAVE Act passes the Senate is if the REPUBLICANS are willing to do the rules change … removing the 60 vote requirement PERIOD.
President Trump would have to convince the TDS Haters to flip their votes.
I don’t think this is even a trade on the table.
A Non-Endorsement may be best. That way, Trumps gets McTurtle/Bush’s BFF, Senator Cornyn’s votes in the interim, then gets the AG, Paxton that he has worked closely with these past several years to replace the RINO relic after the election.
Win/Win?
They aren’t passing the Save Act.
They’d all lose their phony baloney jobs.
Wish in one hand…
I hope he doesn’t endorse Cornyn either but Rino Thune just said he spoke with the President and asked him to endorse Cornyn. Demoncrats posing as Republicans Tillis and Curtis also asked Trump to back Cornyn. That should say it all. I have a feeling he’s going to endorse Cornyn. I hope I’m wrong. Rino Thune won’t pass the Save Act and won’t give him any recess appointments. Why would he listen to these back stabbers is beyond me.
I do not live in Texas, but my daughter does and she voted for Paxton and will again be voting for Paxton regardless of who President Trump endorses.
Even if it must be done as a write-in vote.
Is that fair? Uhm hell no it’s not f-ing fair.
It’s literally horse trading away /selling the people’s right to choose their representatives.
Horse trading is part of it all, sadly.
I don’t accept the premise that it’s ever acceptable to deny a citizen in good standing a right to choose their representative.
“I hope President Trump doesn’t endorse John Cornyn!”
Yup, for sure!
But, if he comes out with corneyyyy, it will most likely be under the following conditions (not made public):
The senate immediately passes the SAVE ACT and removes the senate filibuster, allowing for securing our elections in 2026 and 2028 with the immediate passage of President Trump’s list of election integrity laws. All of these senate actions passed by Thune before the Texas senate runoff date………Ken Paxton becomes the next Supreme Court justice, aiming at replacing not-so-supreme chief justice Roberts.
MAGA / America First isn’t just our motto, it is our duty!
The Senate would NEVER allow Ken Paxton to be allowed on the USSC.
Cornhole lookin’ like ol’ cornpop in that lead photo.
It’s time for cornin to go.
[Deleted – someone already suggested such.]
It’s weekend at Bernie’s in the Senate. Bernie will promise a vote for the SAVE act in exchange for a Cornyn endorsement. Anticipate that the SAVE act will still not pass due to parliamentary chicanery. The two fellows propping up Bernie want that endorsement, but are opposed to actually passing the SAVE act.
I just read that Cornhole spent 30 Times as much money as Mr. Paxton. Another source said “17 times.”
Right there, we know which one should drop out!
How many “special interests” ballooned Cornhole’s campaign accounts by 17 or 30 times?
NO to Cornhole!
cornyn campaign 100 million – big money politics all the way for this Godless worm
To Paxton’s $5 million.
I would endorse Trumps impeachment if he endorses Cornyn
So, not MAGA I’m guessing….
I would not endorse an impeachment but I also wouldn’t endorse horse trading away the people’s right to choose their representative.
My comment was addressed solely to the absurdity of impeachment.
My opinion is that President Trump is making a dreadful mistake.
I hope there are wise and trusted people around him to tell him so, and that he will have second thoughts.
Any endorsements can wait until after the runoff….and must.
I don’t get reply notifications anymore so it’s only by chance that I saw both of these…
I agree that it’s a grave error but I’m planting my flag here: It’s not his (or anyone else’s) right to trade away any citizen’s right to vote for the representative that they choose.
If PDJT wants to endorse a quisling turncoat that’s his right. Nobody has to go along with that.
How did you go about getting reply notifications to begin with?
On Truth Social PDJT, in his usual manner, said how much he loved Texas and that Texans loved him, etc., etc.
I fear that if he endorses Cornyn, he is going to get a rude awakening as to the regard Texans will then hold for him. SUPER, SUPER RISKY! Please, President Trump, do NOT endorse John Cornyn!
Signed,
7th Generation Texan
Thank you, Betsy. I loved that picture. Aside from making Scarlett O’Hara look like Belle, I thought that was an absolutely beautiful dress.
You should see her gown for the civil war Dems and their sponsors are itching to get started..if things get any worse, I may have to troy it out 😎👍🏻
I love the “stares in Southern”
😉
Especially when coupled with a “Bless your heart!”
If it means getting the SAVE Act passed and filling his recess appointments then it’s a necessary trade. Not a welcome one, just a realistic acknowledgement about how poorly the establishment republicans serve our country.
WHY do R’s, GOP HAVE TO ALWAYS kowtow TO OUR OWN?
DO dems?
NO….
NO TO CORNYN
Just because he endorses Cornyn doesn’t mean Paxton HAS to drop out – and he shouldn’t drop out.
All indicators point in the direction of Trump endorsing Cornyn, which is a huge disappointment. The only way to tolerate this is if Trump has finally realized that Pam Bondi is a huge failure.
If that is the case, then Trump should be making a deal to get Ken Paxton into a government position that has to be approved by the Senate. This would then position Paxton to take over the DOJ in a lateral move after the mid-term elections when Trump fires Bondi.
BTW, if Trump asks Paxton to exit the race and Trump doesn’t get him into his administration quickly, then this could be the end of Ken Paxton’s political career. This would be a great tragedy.
I rather have Ken Paxton become a Supreme Court justice than only 2 years as Trump’s Attorney General
I’m loving it.
IF he endorses Coryn, TURN IN THE DAMN KEYS ON THE WAY OUT THE DOOR.
No. Either Ken Paxton can refuse to drop out of the race – OR… Texans can do a massive write-in campaign for Ken Paxton in the fall.
Anybody but Cornyn!
“I hope President Trump doesn’t endorse John Cornyn!”
If that’s the price of getting The Save Act passed through the Senate then so be it. Trump can make Paxton head of DHS to replace ICE Barbie or, better yet, DOJ Blondie.
Paxton would probably bow out if asked by President Trump. I doubt Cornyn would.
If that happens, Texans will need to generate a huge write-in campaign for Ken Paxton. As “soldier’s mom” says: Texans should not be cheated out of their choice for who will represent them in the U.S. Senate because some GOPe scumbags do not want Paxton in the Senate. This looks like the same crap they did to Kari Lake. So, no, President Trump, that is not “fair”.
Seems President Trump endorsed Thune at one point and how did that go. Don’t trust Coryn President Trump. Go with the sure bet and that’s Paxton.
I’m from Texas. I’m a Christian. I won’t pray that Crooked Cornyn drops dead…but the thought did enter my mind.
I think Paxton may win even if Trump endorses Cornyn to save the Save America Act.
We are purple enough. Vote Paxton.

A similar thought cruised by me when The Turtle tipped over his shell!
People should be angry with Wesley Hunt for spoiling Paxtons clean win over Cornyn! I don’t know how many times I posted on here for months about Hunt being a spoiler and no one ever responded. I hope he is never elected again!
He posts daily on truth social, every MAGA word he knows has been put to use.
He’s definitely going after MAGA voters.
What a man DOES speaks so much louder than what he SAYS!
Exactly what happened. I knew it would.
Retired Magistrate here: I heard Wesley Hunt talk on Rush’s old show about why he should be elected; he thought Paxton would win and he would come in second. Hunt sounded good; however, it looks like he didn’t have much name recognition in Texas. No I am not from Texas but that was the consensus on Rush’s old show. So, yes he was a spoiler.
In my opinion I think that Paxton would pick up the votes of those who voted for Hunt; Hunt certainly talked the talk of a conservative. I believe that President Trump thinks that this primary has been so bitter and so much money has been spent that he is fearful that the Dems might take the seat that Cornyn occupies now. Of course with the way Cornyn has voted I am not sure it would make much difference.
If President Trump endorses Cornyn I believe that Paxton will drop out; if President Trump endorses Paxton Cornyn will not drop out; he will stay in anyway.
If Ken Paxton decides to drop out of the race because he did not receive President Trump’s “endorsement”, then Republican voters all over Texas should generate a massive write-in campaign for Ken Paxton in the fall.
In my opinion, his goose is well and truly cooked! Or, at least it ought to be!
Cornyn will be worse than John McCain was in his last term. I hope someone with a brain can get past Suzie.
This RINO’s incessant ads made me laugh because they’d boast C. “voted with Trump 99% of the time,” and I was like you stupid RINO, we want 100% of the time!
I don’t like the idea of making a deal to get the Save Act passed. Couldn’t Trump speak to the nation(national televised speech) and present evidence that we’re all familiar with here about our election system? He has enough clout and evidence to sway the public into forcing its senators to vote. Why do we need six more years of Cornyn?
A Trump endorsement of Cornpone for ANY reason is disastrous for Repubs nationwide in Nov. imo. So DONE with rinoRats
Don’t clutch your pearls yet, Jubal.
If Trump endorses Cornyn, I’m done with Trump.
Actually I don’t care so much if Trump endorses Cornyn, but if he asks Paxton to drop out, that will be the last straw.
I voted for Paxton, and I’d love to see Cornyn out….. but….
President Trump will find practical solutions.
Save Act? Talking Filibuster? Confirmation of appointments?
Paxton appointment to AG, DA, JUDGE, etc???
Ken Paxton will win the runoff if it runs as-is.
But… the swamp will spend millions to elect Talarico in November.
Paxton does have some baggage.
Cornyn aligned PACs ran non-stop attack ads in the primaries.
DEMS will do the same in the Fall, and it would not be a surprise to see the Bush/GOPe swamp spend millions to defeat Paxton.
I won’t be thrilled, but if POTUS can push the right deal through, that may be the practical solution.
Cornyn is of the same mindset as Thune and of course McConnell, so with that said Trump can ask one of them to leave the race but I cannot see that happening. With all the money that has been and is behind Corny and this being his life he is not going anywhere just because the President requests it . If I could vote for them I would be voting for Paxton.
We will be mad at him if he endorses Cornyn…unless he at least gets something out of it..he better be using some leverage
I don’t think Paxton should drop out if he doesn’t endorse him..
Most of us hate Cornyn..only reason he did well is older crowd can’t stand change and keeps voting for incumbents.
We’re trying to clean out Texas, but it’s hard!
We did get rid of Crenshaw!
Yes! Shocked by that..rooting for Brandon Herrera in the runoff
Arrrrgh!
The only way I would support Trump throwing his endorsement to Rhinoferously obnoxious Cornyn is if he rewards Paxton by making him the new Attorney General!
The Senate will NEVER allow that to happen.
Just because he endorses Cornyn does not mean the base in TX will go along. We have not had a good candidate opposing Cornyn, we do now…Cornyn is terrible – needs to go. Six more years of him is intolerable. Find someone else to threaten to get the SAVE act.
I cannot abide the thought of voting for Cornyn in November. I’ve done it too many times and just can’t stomach the thought of doing it again. I pray to God that Paxton does not drop out of the May runoff.
