Legal analysts note that such summary denials are procedural and do not reflect a judgment on the merits of the underlying investigation.
As of now, no official DOJ statement confirms an active criminal probe into Omar, and she has not been charged with any crime. The scrutiny stems from a significant increase in her reported net worth, largely tied to her husband’s business interests, including Rose Lake Capital.
Senator Marco Rubio and House Republicans, led by the Oversight Committee, have called for further congressional review, while Omar’s office maintains that her financial disclosures comply with federal ethics rules and characterizes the scrutiny as politically motivated.
Marco Rubio is no longer a Senator. Hence, unless there is additional confirmation about this claim, I look upon this as hopium.

Update: The FBI fired more people Thursday, with the rough estimate being about a dozen in total over two days.
At least 10 FBI employees who worked on former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into President Trump’s retention of classified records after he left the White House in 2021 were fired on Wednesday, multiple sources told CBS News.
The firings came after Reuters reported that the FBI had subpoenaed records of phone calls made by FBI Director Kash Patel and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles when they were still both private citizens as part of Smith’s probe into Trump.
The Reuters article quoted Patel, who alleged that the FBI had secretly subpoenaed his phone records “using flimsy pretexts and burying the entire process in prohibited case files designed to evade all oversight.” The Reuters article added that it had not independently verified any of Patel’s claims.
All of the FBI agents and analysts who were fired on Wednesday were involved with the classified documents case.
CBS News confirmed with a source familiar with the matter that Wiles’ records were reviewed as part of the documents case, but was unable to verify whether Patel’s were. In the case involving the 2020 election, known as Arctic Frost, Patel’s records were not subpoenaed, the source added.

You don’t need a law degree to understand this. The U.S. Constitution is very clear. Article I, Section 4 gives control over elections to CONGRESS and the STATES. Not the President. The President runs the executive branch. Elections are not the executive branch. That’s it. That’s the whole argument.
EDIT: Here is the part people are not talking about. Many of the justices sitting on the Supreme Court right now, whether you like them or not, are Originalists or Textualists. Let me explain what that means. Originalists interpret the Constitution based on what the words meant when it was written. Textualists interpret the law based on the exact words as written, nothing more, nothing less. Either way you look at it, the text of the Constitution is crystal clear.
To reiterate, election authority belongs to Congress and the States. These justices are not going to suddenly reinterpret plain language to hand election power to the President. Their entire judicial philosophy works AGAINST that argument. So even when this reaches the Supreme Court, the legal foundation to stop it is toooooo strong.
If you want to change how elections work in America, you have to pass a law. Congress is debating this right now. The SAVE Act passed the House but it is stuck in the Senate because it cannot get the 60 votes needed to move forward. That is how democracy works. No votes, no policy. No executive order gets around that. Period.
Except the 17th amendment bastardized representation of the states and the Senate was never intended to require 60 vote majority under the founders original intents except for the ones they in particular specified.
Plus you’re arguing against the reality of vote fraud actually occurring and anyone who is even slightly aware knows it.
