President Trump, President Zelenskyy and the CIA continue to deny any involvement on the drone attack against Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin’s state residence. However, Russia has released evidence from the drones that were shot down including the guidance and targeting systems.
Someone launched the drones from Ukraine and targeted them at Putin’s residence to send a message. There is considerable debate online about it, but if President Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy are speaking truthfully, the most likely suspect who launched the drones was British intelligence inside Ukraine. Then again, if the CIA was factually involved, everyone would have to deny it.
In retaliation for the December 29th attack, yesterday Russia fired a hypersonic Oreshnik missile and counterattack drones directly into the heart of Kiev, Ukraine.
The use of the Oreshnik missile comes just hours after Russian President Putin asserted publicly that Ukraine, Europe and NATO have no defenses against the hypersonics.
President Zelenskyy said the Russian attack involved 242 drones, 13 ballistic missiles, one Oreshnik missile and 22 cruise missiles. However, as with all things Zelenskyy, this dramatic claim seems to be slightly exaggerated.
Russia claims they targeted key electricity infrastructure as well as the production facilities for building drones in Kiev which are collocated in residential areas.
Images of the hypersonic missile warheads hitting their targets is shown at left. Much of Kiev is now without power and electricity.
The Russian Defense Ministry said, “in response to the terrorist attack by the Kiev regime on the residence of the President of the Russian Federation in Novgorod region, launched on the night of 29 December 2025, the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike with high-precision long-range ground- and sea-based weapons including the Oreshnik mobile ground-based medium-range missile system as well as attack unmanned aerial vehicles at critically important facilities on the territory of Ukraine. All the assigned targets have been hit. Production facilities of unmanned aerial vehicles that were used during the terrorist attack as well as power infrastructure enterprises that supported the defense industry of Ukraine have been damaged.”
Moscow appears ambivalent to the demands of the EU/NATO as they pertain to a ceasefire, and it appears the Kremlin has comprehensively rejected the European 20-point peace plan solution based on President Putin’s rejection of the ‘security guarantees’ as outlined by EU leadership.
Statement from Russia: “The document turned out to be extremely far from a peace settlement. The declaration is not aimed at achieving a lasting peace and security but rather at continuing the militarisation, escalation and further conflict aggravation.
Its core element is the deployment of “a multinational force” on Ukrainian territory that the coalition will have to form to contribute to the “rebuilding” of the Ukrainian armed forces and “support deterrence” [against Russia] following the cessation of the hostilities.
The document also includes clauses on further consolidation of Ukraine’s and NATO’s military industrial sectors.
As clarified by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, who signed the corresponding trilateral statement along with Zelensky, London and Paris plan to establish their own military bases in Ukraine post-ceasefire and build weapon and military equipment storage facilities.
The Russian Foreign Ministry warns that the deployment of military units and the setting-up of military facilities, storages and other Western infrastructure on Ukrainian territory will be qualified as foreign intervention that directly threatens the security of Russia and other European countries.
All such units and facilities will be considered as legitimate military targets for the Russian Armed Forces.
Warnings to this effect have been repeatedly made at the highest level and remain relevant.
We also reaffirm that a peaceful resolution of the conflict is solely possible through the elimination of its root causes, the re-establishment of Ukraine’s neutral non-aligned status, its demilitarisation and denazification, and Kiev’s observance of the language, cultural and religious rights and freedoms, including those of ethnic Russians, Russian-speaking people, and members of ethnic minorities, and through the recognition of the current territorial realities that emerged as a result of the peoples’ exercised right to self-determination.
All these goals will, undoubtedly, be achieved either by political and diplomatic means or in the course of the special military operation, in which the Russian Armed Forces are maintaining full initiative on the battlefield.

The “coalition of the willing” (Brussels, Great Britian, Canada, France, Germany and Australia) cannot reasonably go to war with Russia without the assistance of the United States. President Trump does not want to involve us in the growing quagmire either in Ukraine or any of the various ancillary venues the EU are promoting.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has recently joined with French President Emmanuel Macron to say perhaps it is time for the EU to engage directly with Vladimir Putin. The EU has a position, a 20-point plan, that is not supported by President Trump because it is contingent upon American involvement.
Perhaps it is time for the EU to take responsibility for their own diplomatic efforts and figure out a solution. In the interim, President Putin continues taking apart Ukraine bit by bit.

One of my granddaughters is headed to university in the autumn.
She is excited and casually mentioned that for what she is studying she will be able to go to Rome for a while. I was too taken aback to hear her say for how long, but it is most likely for the same period as her mother’s study in Spain when she was at university, which after she and a couple of friends backpacker through the rest of a peaceful, uninvaded Europe. I performed my signature sitting high jump for which I am the world record holder.
And then I explained why, in great no holds barred detail. I spared nothing. This opportunity wouldn’t happen for a few years; but look at Europe now and jump ahead another few.
She is a beautiful inside and out, unworldly Christian young woman. I adore her. We are very close. She listened. It won’t be the last time she’ll be hearing from the grandmother who loves her. God help her to hear me 🙏🏻

Also in my humble opinion one tours locations with aspects to admire….what is to admire about Europe but what was and is no longer? Picking over the bones of western civilization is not tourism but anthropology now tainted with a 2415 years old abomination.

It was under George HW Bush that the US decoupled our national values from trade. We welcomed business opportunities with tyrannical, repressive regimes as long as US corporations benefited, lower labor costs (slavery) and raw material costs (also slavery).
Tiananmen Square was a pivotal moment under Bush. Many expected China would break towards freedom as Russia had a few years earlier. Instead, Bush tsk-tsk’d China’s leaders and then welcomed them into the US trading upper echelon, with no requirements they change their system to respect liberty and freedom for their own citizens. That decoupling of trade from values meant trade as a means of expanding freedom and liberty would no longer be an offensive weapon. Freedom and liberty have been on defense around the world ever since. As slavery went on offense.
Clinton kept it up, as did Shrub Bush. All of the antitrust prohibitions were gutted, multinational corporations with zero allegiance or fidelity to US values took over global trade, and now even former allies have become the very same types of regimes we fought against, though we had defeated in the 20th century.
We stopped exporting our values, freedom and liberty. We stopped playing offense. And our defense now considers giving up field goals instead of touchdowns victories. Eleven field goals later we’re down 0-33.
We’re even giving up points in our own cities. Because we stopped playing offense. Stopped championing the values and virtues of individual liberty and freedom. Politicians now speak of the warm embrace of collectivism, are applauded.
Either we go on offense and sell our values, the virtues and rightness, the morality of them. Or lose them forever. Only going on offense will win.
We spoke sovereignty and “democracy”…that thing Bush, Clinton, Obama, “Biden” claimed they stood for for people living under any “ism” one cares to name and being crushed by. The “virtuous” excuse to invade countries or to inflict Colour Revolutions within them…while at the same time working assiduously at home to diminish our own freedoms and God given rights. Benighted people in China and Iran (I’ll mention for the purposes of answering you) listened to these amoral “preachers” and took their high minded pronouncements as support for efforts to free themselves from their inhuman chains at their word.

I will contest that assessment with this clarification I forget many people don’t know. When those horrible people spoke of freedom, democracy and liberty they were speaking Orwellian Newspeak. Inverted, perverted meanings.

The word “Freedom” itself is the most shape-shifting of all in the languages of man, in the hands of those who wish to rule other men.
Hitler proclaimed freedom was the birthright of Germans. Stalin and every Soviet leader said they stood for freedom against the West. Mao claimed freedom as Communism’s promise. Freedom fighters for Fascism, Communism, authoritarianism of all varieties, monarchy, technocracy, every ruler everywhere claim they stand for freedom. Is how UK, Germany, EU, Canada, Minnesota, NYC, all the totalitarian leaders of the world today claim to fight for freedom against the enemies of freedom on the “other side” of any dispute.
Russians fight Ukrainians for…Freedom. And vice-versa. A very useful word that fits whatever the person using it wants it to mean.
And when we try to reconcile our understanding of the meaning, as it was taught to us, with what it is defined as today we’re told times change, freedom evolves, and our previous understanding is now called “freeDUM.”
So how does our definition of freedom prevail in the minds of our community, nation, over the redefinition so many around us now embrace? The word alone is insufficient. Everyone is fighting each other for their idea of freedom. Is there a true, universal definition? If there is I would suggest we have to start using it more and not just rely on the word to convey what we mean.
Ah yes…that word “evolve”.
Which is understood by most to mean ” progress.” For whom I ask. For the betterment of humanity? Or for the insidious destruction of it by those who are greedy, power mad, psychotic, and who despise God.

Who or what defines what that entails? The Constitution. But increasingly the plain words of it seem to be “evolving”, by its reinterpretation by judicial ideologues with political agendas.

(Sounds vaguely familiar, pretend negotiate, get good faith efforts of Russian withdrawal, bring European allies in to save you from the peace deal, and claim you defeated those withdrawing Russian forces.)
BTW, Ukraine would be so much better off today if Z had signed that deal. So much death and destruction and loss of territory since then. Even today, with Ukrainians dying every day while losing ground to Russia, inking Trump’s deal is better for Ukraine than continuing to fight.

The war has been going on for a long time now. I’m pretty sure that the citizens of Ukraine have figured out how to exist and survive the hardships. It is not easy on them, yet they are of a hardy stock, pragmatic and have been surviving ruthless conflicts for centuries. They have skill sets that you or I can’t even fathom and pray that we never have to.
What we are seeing now are that the frontlines are moving
closer to Kiev, and in places where a lot of population
have been sheltered from the realities of war.
In Kiev and other places, the people were still going to
nightclubs and life continued pretty much as always.
The people in the country are like here🇺🇸….they know how

Seriously, can the coalition win a war with Russia with American participation?
Combined, we can’t produce the quantity of shells Russia uses.
It will take us years to replace the weapons we already gave Ukraine.
If the war was long term, how long would it take us to ramp up production enough to win it?
And don’t forget that shipping will be targeted. Our ability to produce things is still reliant on far away manufacturers. We have to ship that in to make weapons etc and then ship it all over to fight.
And, how much technology do we have left that hasn’t already been used by Ukraine? By feeding it to Ukraine piecemeal and in small quantities, we may have helped Ukraine to survive, but we have also helped Russia to learn to cope with it. If we want a quick victory, we better have a lot of new stuff that we can overwhelm them with.
And are any of us up to date on how to fight this new style of war? Supporting Ukraine in fighting it is a far cry from being ready to fight it ourselves.
But, if we have to waste lives and treasure in another stupid war, I’d rather we joined with Russia in fighting thus ‘coalition of the willing’ that seem insistent to start it.
That’s where taking the US down along with the EU comes into the equation.
The restraint held against these globalists has been held for too long.

The Oreshnik was used against a deep underground gas storage fancily near Lviv, right on the border with Poland, not Kiev. It is a hypersonic MIRV system with too much destructive power to be used in proximity to civilian populations. It did send a clear warning to the EU and NATO that any base or facility in Europe can be destroyed by an Oreshnik and there is nothing they can do to stop it.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has recently joined with French President Emmanuel Macron to say perhaps it is time for the EU to engage directly with Vladimir Putin.

If this ballistic missile had carried a warhead, the damage would have been incomparable. Thank God, there was no warhead, so it just caused a lot of noise. Yes, there was damage to one of the critical infrastructure objects. There were no human casualties. Yes, the existing damage is terrible, but not as bad as it could have been.

I think this was a demonstration of force. Because Lvov is on the border with the EU, and this missile wasn’t detected anywhere on the radars. If we usually have up to half an hour to gather and go to shelters – here it was less than 10 minutes. And it’s unlikely that we have the technology in Ukraine today to destroy such missiles. So this was a clear signal to the USA and the EU.
So far, the footage of the consequences of the use of “Oreshnik” has not been made public. Apparently, the Security Service of Ukraine has taken this issue under strict control.

Part of the problem is that the launch can be detected but because of the speed the targets cannot. The missle disperses into multiple warheads each with their own direction. Everyone everywhere in Western Ukraine would have to shelter for each launch.
