During a press conference on Wednesday, a Providence-area radio host, Chas Calenda, directly confronted Brown University officials and law enforcement with information he has received about the school intentionally disabling surveillance systems due to DEI concerns.
The response from university officials and the Providence Mayor indicate Mr. Chas Calenda’s informed accusation and question is directly on target. WATCH:
🚨 HOLY CRAP! A Providence, RI radio host just accused Brown University of TAKING DOWN security cameras in an effort to SHIELD illegal aliens
If this is true, this is a MONUMENTAL scandal.
This must be thoroughly investigated NOW! pic.twitter.com/kXyY51zDZF

In addition to information we previously shared {GO DEEP} reflecting requests from various “civil rights” and “humanitarian” groups who demanded Brown University disable their surveillance system, additional information about the issue comes via the Rhode Island ACLU making the same demand in October of this year [SEE HERE].
Brown University was under pressure from far-left groups as an outcome of concern the CCTV and school security system would be used by federal authorities to (a) identify radical leftists expressing antisemitic sentiments, and (b) identify the immigration status of persons on campus. It is not just isolated to Brown University.
Multiple municipal governments, private and municipal agencies have received the same demand in an ongoing effort to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations. The mass shooting on Brown University is leading to a larger public awareness of an issue that has been spreading rapidly in the last several months.
The claim by Chas Calenda is that his local sources within law enforcement are confirming the university cowed to the concerns of the civil rights groups, including the removal of cameras. This is why there is no recorded CCTV footage, and the university is talking gibberish in their efforts to avoid admitting what has taken place.
Brown University and Providence police have $8 billion liability reasons to be less than honest with the alarmed public. The political ramifications of the story are also complicating the issue for Brown University, as well as local and national figures.
Here is the full press conference. The key question comes at the very end of the video 49:20.
Sickening, evil and pathetic.
Once again illegal aliens and visa violators over American citizens and I’m sick of it!!! Theses leftist propaganda universities all need their Federal funds yanked along with their nonprofit status!!! Make it painful financially to be leftist propagandists, woke and DEI!!! JMO
Oh…it’s going to be financially painful….
But it’s totally believable.
Will they catch the killer anytime soon or even ever?
“it took nearly 17 years to catch the Unabomber, Theodore J. Kaczynski, after his bombing campaign began in 1978. The FBI-led investigation, which became the longest and most expensive in U.S. history, concluded with his arrest in April 1996 at his remote cabin in Lincoln, Montana. The breakthrough came after Kaczynski’s 35,000-word manifesto was published in 1995, leading his brother David Kaczynski to recognize the writing style and alert the FBI.”
That was a extremely difficult case, because Theodore J. Kaczynski was an evil genius. He made his detection difficult.
This is more on the Far Left DEI policies of the location. Also an FBI mistake.
Kaczynski also lived where there were no cameras, and forensics have advanced since then. What he did was in private in the remote wilderness except for buying materials and sending the packages, which still happened in a remote rural area.
That is quite different than a modern populated area, covered with cameras and a crime that took place in public in a room full of witnesses. I really don’t see the comparison.
Detection was “difficult” because Ted was an MK Ultra mind control- victim.
The Feds weren’t in a great big hurry to expose their own crimes.
U.S. Government Mind Control Experiments | Psychology Today
Project MKULTRA was the Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) mind control program that used LSD and hypnosis techniques to brainwash individuals. Theodore Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber, was a participant in one of Henry Murray’s experiments at Harvard where Murray’s team bullied, harassed, and psychologically broke down participants. Henry Murray had previously worked for the CIA’s predecessor and may have been funded by the clandestine MKULTRA program.
It’s always the same thing with these monsters.
re: “it took nearly 17 years to catch the Unabomber”
Brother turned him in – he recognized his writing.
And if it wasn’t for the brother… do any of us think the fib would ever have found him????
Based on what they have, which is some blurry photos and videos, shooter got away Scott free and won’t be caught. Hope I am wrong
If he’s a Brown student the university likely chartered a jet and flew him back to Doha.
Well they will get some poor sap. Will it be the shooter? We have no way of knowing.
Bet they know EXACTLY where he is.
…and yes, I do believe they are that depraved.
There are occasional times when I dislike having to agree with you, dear Sis, this is one of them!
<smiles>
Too much averting of gazes, too much telling body language, Paprika…
Bless you, my dear Brother 💕
It is incredible. If they allowed a group to essentially disable the security system and carry out a political assassination, then cover it up from embarrassment, they should be sued out of existence.
Well, since they won’t divulge, we are left to make up our own stories.
Truth WILL out in the end.
They are now completely discredited. There should be a high price for their obfuscations. But it won’t be as high as the one paid two young people whose lives were brutally taken. What an abomination.
Based on just the poor grainy images they have released, it would be easy to identify that person. They appear to be male and have sort of a unique posture, gait, hair, etc. If I had ever known this person, I would be able to recognize them in the video. Someone in a position of authority already knows…….
Reading this morning that casings were discovered and DNA recovered from them.
They can run, but not hide. As far as the gait is concerned, a certain rabid TA who has disappeared and his Brown profile removed…suddenly…has had a photo of himself compared to one of the suspect with gait measured by someone who is qualified to do so.
The verdict is that it is a 97% match.
As I said, bet not only do they know where the terrorist is but who he is also.
Kaczynski was also coincidentally a participant in CIA Psyche tests while attending Harvard as a 15 year old. That’s weird.
Yup. All we have to do is look at what laws were changed with the mail service and other areas based on his crimes. They create these people in order to steal our security and rights.
Imagine that
If the FBI does not have an inside man running the activity they are not going to solve shit.
The FBI also likes to burn interview notes. Corrupt since at least 1963.
The RI authorities speak for themselves. Corrupt and stupid.
DEI gets you corrupt. Then there has to be a little more effort to get the Incompetence Factor.
Corrupt since it’s UNCONSTITUTIONAL birth….
Corrected your mistake….
17 years to release evidence? i fingered the beltway shooter right off the bat ,as a nation of islam black muslim. i was able to do that because the fbi released the tarot card with the writing ‘ i am God’ on it. being a student of rush limbaugh school for three hours every day running heavy equipment and listening to the radio, i knew who ‘calypso louis ‘ farakhan was. and that he had combined Christianity and santa ria (voodoo) into the nation of islam beliefs. the tarot card was the give away. never heard anyone on the talking heads on tv mention it. just timothy mcveigh types. release the evidence.
” AND WE Will TELL you WHAT IS IMPORTANT To Know “
Lies and liars make everything more complicated . . . it’s the simple truth!
Need to make Commie Brown and the Commie Dem City & State pay a heavy Criminal and Civil cost! The very major obstacle is the Far Left location.
Would need to move the trials outside of New England to get any convictions
Where was the murdered girl from? If she’s from out of state, all the complicit orgs need to
be dragged into court, also. Their request to shut down the cameras caused a situation that could
have been addressed.
Had they wanted to. (Nudge, nudge).
She is from Mountain Brook Alabama. Her name is Ella Cook.
There is no duty to protect.
Right. So then why’d they disable the security cameras to protect the noncitizen/evil/murderous student class? Can you answer that for us?
P.S. I believe Brown U, like almost ALL university systems in the U.S., employed campus police who are trained in the same academy as all local LEOs. If so, then what exactly, is their mission statement and oath of service?
The government has no duty to protect private citizens. Period. As bad as the government is to protect, they suck and you don’t want them to control that. 2nd Amend. rules.
Higher ed act. Ur wrong
Yes there is. Under title x Same used in all the campus rape cases If cameras there but turned off It’s a slam dunk. Especially if shooter knew they were off. And if the school mentions the cameras as safety on tours and marketing materials to potential students
Yes there is. Under title x Same used in all the campus rape cases If cameras there but turned off It’s a slam dunk. Especially if shooter knew they were off. And if the school mentions the cameras as safety on tours and marketing materials to potential students
What does their advertising say or other boatloads of documents that are presented to applicants and portential applicants?
Also the fact that they had cameras at one time, indicates they were well aware of potential danger.
I still think there is enough for a suit if that kind of evidence exists and is in the hands of a conservative and brave lawyer.
I expect the lawsuits will be monumental. Get woke, go broke!
One could only hope that this “breaks the bank” of Brown, the City of Providence, and the State of Rhode Island.
This is 1,000 worse than incompetence but is straight up negligence.
I’m no lawyer but I know some comment here. What say you?
I’m no lawyer. But it seems like something more than negligence to this layman.
Aiding and abetting perhaps 🤔
Seems like they are targeting future MAGA talent that could lead us to Making America Great.
Old Dog is right. It’s more than negligence.
Negligence is carelessness.
This was intentional and knowing.
In the law, we call that recklessness or reckless disregard.
No duty to protect.
Title 8 or title x. Yes there is for colleges
That may be true for law enforcement, but the university is held to a higher standard.
“In Barlow v. State, 540 P.3d 783 (Wash. 2024), the Washington Supreme Court ruled that a special relationship exists between a university and its students for campus activities, which gives rise to a duty to use reasonable care to protect students from the foreseeable harms from other students. The scope of the duty is predicated on the student’s participation in on-campus or university-controlled activities.”
The general rule is that people and businesses have no duty to aid or protect others from harm.RESTATEMENT (SECOND) OF TORTS§ 314. Restatement (Second) of Torts § 315 acknowledges the same general rule—that there is no duty to protect others from third-party conduct—but outlines two exceptions, including when a special relationship exists between the actor and the perpetrator or between the actor and the plaintiff/victim.
The Supreme Court of the State of Washington considered two questions certified by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit regarding a university’s duty of care towards its students. The plaintiff, a student, alleged that the defendant university was negligent in failing to protect her from being raped by a fellow student, who had prior complaints of sexual misconduct, at an off-campus party. The first question asked whether under Washington law a university has a special relationship with its students that gives rise to a duty to use reasonable care to protect them from foreseeable harm caused by other students. The Court answered yes, indicating that such a relationship exists as defined by the common law principles laid out in the Restatement (Second) of Torts § 344. This duty applies when a student is on campus or participating in university-sponsored activities. The second question asked about the scope of this duty. The Court determined that the duty applies within the confines of the university campus or at university-controlled events, and is based on a student’s enrollment and presence on campus. The Court did not extend this duty to off-campus situations or situations not under the university’s control. Therefore, the Court concluded that the university was not liable for the plaintiff’s off-campus assault.
It is not reasonable to think that someone not in control of the university would shoot up a student. Even if the cameras were operational, it would not have prevented the shooting.
I think there should be some harm associated with the operation of the camera, but then again, does operation of the camera mean that harm would not have been committed.
I will continue to scream 2nd Amend. right to protect ourselves. Gun Free Zones are a direct attack on our 2nd Amend. Right and this is one of many examples of it. Police are minutes away when seconds matter.
Title 8 or 10 of higher ed act and recent Supreme Court case from univ of Washington
Thank you. I knew there was a name for it.
Ever since the Baptists turned down the offer of Rhode Island, there is an evil presence there.
I expect Brown will settle to avoid Discovery.
The last thing they want is for their internal communications to be made public.
They would rather pay out than be exposed.
Yes, they have the endowment money.
While the can of worms of orgs requesting monitoring cameras be shut down, a new
door suddenly flies open.
“They have the endowment money”. So does Emory University (things go better with
Coca Cola everytime their stock splits), and Lil ol Agnes Scott College, a few mile up
the road.
When I lived near Agnes Scott back in the 90s, it was all female, and only 600 students.
The endowments at the time were stupifying. They could have given each of those 600
girls NINE. MILLION. DOLLARS.
The door’s been opened, the pattern’s been exposed. Now, follow the money, ie
endowments. See how many other Universities sitting on oil wells shut down thei
cameras at their DEI master’s request.
They should ask for several billion and force discovery.
“Brown University and Providence Police have $8 billion liability reasons to be less than honest with the alarmed public.”
Class action them for $100 billion for wrongful death, injury, mental anguish and anything else a lawyer can think of that is actionable.
psst…liberal judges…..
No justice will be found as long as the current COMPLETEY CORRUPT system stays in place….
No…there is only one answer to this that will produce real justice….
NO MERCY!
There is no duty to protect. Actually should use the as a reason for CC.
That standard may apply to law enforcement, but not to the university:
“In Barlow v. State, 540 P.3d 783 (Wash. 2024), the Washington Supreme Court ruled that a special relationship exists between a university and its students for campus activities, which gives rise to a duty to use reasonable care to protect students from the foreseeable harms from other students. The scope of the duty is predicated on the student’s participation in on-campus or university-controlled activities.”
Higher ed act
We are being frogmarched into a Big Brother surveillance state.
Have you noticed?
Perhaps. But I’d be 100% behind that if they would start with requiring teachers/professors to wear cameras like they make law enforcement wear. Then maybe we would have some accountability in education.
Thank you for making my point:
“…100% behind that…”
Brilliant!
Yes, I believe all teachers should be wearing cameras. That would set them strait. Also, parents should be able to access those cameras while their attends school. Why this hasn’t happened yet says a lot.
Our rural school is locked down everyday. Two sheriffs deputies are stationed there. We are a very rural community and our town doesn’t even have a stop light.
The teachers decorate their classrooms with all their favorite things.
They even had wish list on Amazon so that parents could help supply their classrooms with leopard prints and pink themed items because the teacher loves pink.
They stopped that this year because not all parents could afford to bribe the teachers.
Here in our rural conservative town, teacher are constantly playing dress up. Seems every other week they have a theme.
We’re told they do this so that they can bond better with our children? That it puts the children at ease and lightens the atmosphere? These teachers also hang family pictures on the wall.
So if y’all think it’s only liberals y’all ain’t been paying attention.
Are you kidding? Almost everyone has their own personal surveillance device in hand 24/7.
Frogmarched? They voluntarily paid good money for those things.
Some observe:
This is a march toward “soft” totalitarianism embraced by the people – not brutally forced on them (at first).
The march itself is likewise a “soft” frogmarch – the people are clamoring for the surveillance etc. because of perceived threats.
Look at how many want the phones to track location of e.g. family members, for example.
Doorbell and other home surveillance cams are becoming very popular now, fully tappable by Big Brother along with all other internet connected cams all over.
The threats are stemming from conditions “nudged” by veiled entities with these ulterior goals. In some cases direct manipulation e.g. false flag events (see ae911truth.org).
Mean while our institutions fail using this technology. What good is it really?
Seriously, nothing will change. They’ll just confiscate all the cameras and call it national security if something happens.
That’s what they did during 911
Still waiting on the video footage from OKC too.
Maybe we could put body cams on the kids that parents can access? I’m betting the teacher would not like that. Not one bit.
Yes, and it seems people on this site are all for it. Very disappointed.
It’s not support for mass surveillance. If you’re not pretending you know that’s already here. It’s about not accepting the deliberate creation of a system of selective non surveillance.
It’s about the creation of kill zones in which planned/targeted assassinations & the chaotic & barbaric slaughter of innocents can take place without any consequences to either the perpetrators or their deliberate enablers.
Rudyard Kipling wrote about what comes next.
The mass surveillance is largely already here, but it is being further developed and augmented with even more sensor fusion feeding AI analytics.
And the US government has been held back from all-out Big Brother by the Bill of Rights. They have near-omniscience but it is kept hidden, buried in the IC who don’t want to divulge their capabilities.
The game now is to manipulate the people to seek more Big Brother surveillance and “pre-crime” actions “to prevent threats from being realized”, in order to bring it out in the open and implement full control.
Your second suggestion (“kill zones) is also a likely goal of the government.
All of the above – surveillance panopticon, pre-crime arrests, and setting the stage for “kill zones” – appear to be likely goals behind much of what is happening to manipulate us to beg for soft totalitarianism “for security”.
As part of the managed decline of the US bloc toward a diminished role in the coming multi-polar geopolitical order headed by totalitarian China.
What good is it when all it produces is grainy pictures of ghoulish individuals?
They grain em up so that us proles don’t interfere with the narrative. They make sure we get em with the perp walking away from the camera.
What I’ve heard is that the few released videos in the Brown case are all from private Ring cameras, not from the high definition campus cameras that were _supposed_ to be turned on, but evidently were not due to leftist overlord direction.
I don’t have a Ring camera, so I have no idea what the resolution is, though I presume the owner can set it low if desired to save bandwidth.
And maybe it’s both. The keystone kops could have rushed out to get Ring videos because they knew their own cameras had nothing. And then they could have processed any clear results to grainy in an attempt to deceive the public.
Deceiving the public is now their full time job.
People in positions of trust/authority need to be held accountable for lying to the public in a failed attempt to cover up & their malfeasance.
That has nothing to do with the lack of surveillance, that’s just a point of evidence.
@SoldiersMom
“Rudyard Kipling wrote about what comes next.”
I’m a curious learner. Can you tell me which Rudyard Kipling writing you are referring to? I am interested to learn more. I have only read his poem “If”, which is great of course!
Thank you!
I think it is called “Gods of the Copybook Headings”.
Yes dats do wan¡
Minority Report forthcoming…
I keep hearing this, but they can’t even do proper psyops. People are starting to notice.
Still no duty to protect. This screams justification for 2nd Amendment
Yes there is duty in higher ed act for colleges
Yes there is duty in higher ed act for colleges
i have no problem with cameras surrounding muslim sympathizers.
This was not random. None of it.
It looks more and more like a professional hit.
I don’t think the guy is fat. A skinny guy can look bulked up under winter clothing and can adopt a different gait. A pro would pop in, take out his target and randomly shoot several others to put a fog of uncertainty over who was targeted, and then would immediately walk, not run, on his predetermined escape route. The locals are in no way up to the task of finding a professional hit man. Nor are they able to go deep and figure out who hired him and why. Solving this might be compared to the Jimmy Hoffa case.
I’m for fewer cameras. The CTH is concerned about the surveillance state and no cameras are part of reducing our privacy threats. Now everyone wants cameras again?
I don’t want more surveillance & I most certainly don’t want deliberate & ideologically selective non surveillance.
I also don’t want to be lied to about any of it but that’s happening too.
Just want the cameras already there to actually work and not be turned off to protect illegals from ICE
I want “dumb” cameras. Cameras that need to be individually accessed to retrieve the video on as as-needed basis. I do not want networked cameras, linked with AI, that consolidate, collate, and analyze everything in real-time.
And no searches of cameras or the internet without a WARRANT.
If Purposely Obtuse was a horse you could ride all day.
If you read and absorbed what Sundance wrote, you would see he emphasized the fact that the all the involved parties are lying about the cameras.
It’s the danger of these LIES by Public Safety Officials, and the ideology behind them, that are being illuminated.
I –who grew up in the 50’s — am inclined to agree with you; however, the leftists have succeeded in making crime an expected fact of life,
Undoubtedly this has been to push society into a police state.
I cannot imagine how we could ever get back to a more innocent and trusting society in any way like what we used to have.
Why is it an “either/or” thing? If there’s violence on campuses, then yes, I want appropriate security measures, including cameras. That doesn’t mean I want every public step to be under surveillance.
The fact is, we’re living in a country where a substantial number of leftists actually cheered and mocked the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Denizens of the far left state media organs actually suggested that Charlie’s own “rhetoric” led to his death. We are a sick nation where a substantial number of the populace prove everyday that they are certifiably unhinged. So what I would rather is going to be tempered by what is necessary, given the context.
And frankly, like the Patriot Act, the context is likely exactly what some would desire to bring on the less favored alternatives. When a nation has forgotten its God, almost anything goes. And worrying about too many cameras or too few is probably just quibbling about the position of the deck chairs as the ship is going down.
J
Auto-pen allowed unvetted foreign hordes into America.
Blue states are facilitating crimes perped by them.
They are proud of their crimes yet want to remain anonymous.
What alternative do you suggest?
I wonder what Brown’s response would be if women had been assaulted around campus instead – how it would duck the issue of CCTV being turned off.
It would entirely depend upon who was doing the assaulting, would it not?
Criminal illegal aliens?
“Nothing to see here, move along.”
Someone who is not here illegally but of a race demonized by the left?
THEN they would be all about protecting women.
Some “trans” dude that attacked women?
“Nothing to see here, move along.”
The priorities of the left are intentionally warped.
Students File Lawsuit Against Brown University – 2021
The case, filed in federal court in Rhode Island on August 6, alleges that Brown officials repeatedly downplayed or dismissed complaints of sexual misconduct—including stalking, harassment and assault—in violation of federal Title IX rules, Rhode Island civil rights law and Brown’s own code of conduct.
“Survivors at Brown are silenced, harmed, dismissed and discouraged from seeking justice by the university,” said the four plaintiffs—Carter Woodruff, Chloe Burns, Taja Hirata-Epstein, and Katiana Soenen. “The so-called systems of justice and support at Brown, as well as the faculty, staff and administrators who implement them, actively perpetuate and exacerbate the injustices and harm they claim to remedy.”
https://msmagazine.com/2021/08/13/brown-university-class-action-lawsuit-sexual-misconduct-assault-harassment/
This happens at a lot of colleges. 😡
Isn’t it amazing even places like Brown think they are above the law and fudge and hide the numbers. There is a moral hole in the Elites of this country. I guess it comes with being a Communist Islamist.
I think the lawyers will get that information in discovery.
And isn’t that why Brown and so many other colleges installed all the security cameras in the first place!
How do we know that it isn’t happening?
I forsee a massive lawsuit coming from the parents of the kids who were shot, both killed and wounded. I hope it bankrupts Brown U. The administrators should also sued out of a job for their malfeasance and dereliction of responsibility to the students they served.
They administrators are evil.
Don’t forget about the trauma to those present who were not shot.
“If it’s Brown, flush it down”
Why, there is no duty to protect.
You are wrong
The basic tenor of the school is at bottom the responsibility of the Board of Trustees . I am willing to bet everyone of them is a liberal; a conservative would never be invited to be a trustee at Brown.
I went to another Ivy League school, and am familiar with how this goes.
Essential all representation in New England states are Democrats. So if you have a child at at College/University there, you can bet your bottom dollar that it just hasn’t happened at their school….. yet.
Also, I should have added, that if true about turning off or removing cameras, the Department of Education should stop all funding, ie grants, tuition payments etc to Brown and any other school that did this. Malfeasance shouldn’t be rewarded with taxpayers money
They shutoff the cameras to protect the identity of illegal aliens. Sets up the perfect kill zone for the intimidation/elimination of undesirable conservative/Christian people. Take every penny of their 8 billion dollar endowment.
Well done, Chas Calenda & Sundance!!
👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️
Now that it is known that universities and colleges are shutting off their cameras, I wonder if they become even better attractions for evildoers besides the gun free zones.
Regarding surveillance concerns, you are already under constant surveillance all the time. The tech has been in place for decades. Nobody cares to track your movements unless you’re a suspect in some criminal case.
Brown U is trying to hide their complicity in sheltering illegal aliens and hosting black bloc terrorist activity. The on-campus murder of a Republican was stupid, and has now thrown a spotlight on Brown U’s seditious behavior.
Investigating this murder is only the tip of the iceberg.
This is literally a real life example of a slow motion train wreck. Will it derail and crash or go over the cliff? Mr. Choo-Choo and his nitwit engineers wave goodbye ….
I noted a few days ago, the Alabama family will need to sue Brown for their entire $8B endowment. Force them to close entirely.
I don’t think they can win.
They could try by filing in federal court in Alabama.
The funny part (if there is a funny part about this entire terrorist attack) is that the same totalitarians who installed the camera system(s) were badgered by their political allies to get rid of the cameras in the interests of “freedom.”
Cameras for thee but not for me.
I’m curious if Providence has even released the Alabama girls body to the family yet. I would not be surprised if Providence quickly cremated her. Woke places are into that kind of do without asking sort of stuff.
https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/homewood-al/ella-cook-12667862
Oh Dear God. This makes me cry. Rest in with the saints and the angels, dear Ella.
Sounds like Ella was a good babysitter on top of all her many other accomplishments. What an amazing person. Prayers for her grieving family. May they turn this tragedy to something good and valuable
Similar: In August, the scumbag Illinois Sec of State demanded Flock Safety block searches of the database for illegals:
After the June incident, Flock Safety responded to Giannoulias’ request that its system reject searches that includes terms such as “abortion,” “immigration” or “ICE” (for Immigration and Customs Enforcement). Those flag terms have been in effect since late June, a Flock Safety spokesperson said.

We are living in such a joke of a timeline. Leftists are not held accountable for their absurd Maoism , soon the mass murders will begin and we will be told it isn’t happening, don’t believe your lying eyes. The media is complicit, hell…our own govt is complicit , so sad, such a terrible reality for us all, RIP Emma Cook.
My takeaway: they installed the cameras, surveilled, disabled the cameras, but did not remove them. This is called “security theater” when you want to give the impression of constant surveillance for population control, without the actual cost. They wanted students to believe they were in safe spaces, that big brother was watching. But no one really was.
And that is worse, because the University is the local government with a responsibility of providing safety. What they were actually providing was fear of non-compliance, to keep the system in line. And when this woman needed the security, it wasn’t there, and now in death, her killer wont face punishment.
I would be that Brown told everybody the cameras were off and left them on. Now they are in a pickle. They have lied to everybody.
These so-called “press conferences” are merely performative. It’s theater of the absurd. Ask yourself this: Why is there a drama queen signing in that room? Do you really think that any one of the journalists there are deaf? No. For the last three decades or so, there has been closed captioning on every TV. She is there merely to show how thoughtful Brown is. They have yet to question any of the eye witnesses. Why? Ostensibly because the students were dismissed to home. So, if the eye witnesses are no long in Providence, they are unavailable for questioning???? Where are they? On Neptune? Why is the “president” of Brown U unaware of the purpose the gathering in that classroom? A lecture? A club meeting? Practice test? She doesn’t know. How is that possible? How is it that she is “doesn’t know” anything about pictures being deleted and taken down of one of the students who happens to be named Mustapha? Why does the “Colonel/Chief of Police” lapse in and out of Spanish when responding to a question and speaking to Americans? Even when he deigns to speak English to us, he is barely intelligible. It has been reported that Ella Cook’s family was notified that she was the target of the attack. Seems logical that would be the reason that these “officials” are telling the world that all is well and that they are safe. Otherwise, there is a mass murdered amongst us and they have no clue who or where he/she/it is. it’s pretty plain to see that they don’t want to apprehend this murdering animal because he’s likely not a white, male Christian. Rather, he’s a member of some protected group. If that’s the case, this nonsense is going to get Brown and it’s $8 BILLION endowment drained out of existence.
Total kabuki
I always find it strange that we are supposed to have all them super technology. That can geo fence geo locate and god knows what else. But, when something happens like 911, the intelligence community become really incompetent and pretend we are still living in the 1960’s.
They give us bullshit story lines from 60 years ago.
So do they are do they not have the technology to enslave us all?
Just like the PipeBomber. He popped up in the middle of DC like a Mushroom.
It is a fact that they have the technology.
In the 90’s the business I worked for bought brand new vans, I found a some what inexpensive way to Geo track what they were up to.
Setting up geo fencing on where they should be between the hours after work such as their home and leave home by clock in time since they were totally on the road people.
They did not know the systems were installed into their vehicle, long story short there was an “install party” that was basically installing the dash light telling them it is operating as some frightening things were discovered in their habits.
Same goes for facial recognition camera systems, you can insert someone as employee into the system within the system as well as anyone else that comes in your door such as UPS FedEx DHL drivers that pick up and drop off packages and choose how the system alerts you. (as in once they walk in your door and cameras have them you can approve / disapprove them for whatever reason & choose alert)
I cannot imagine that it has not gotten better since I last knew systems 15+ years ago.
Google’s Picasa had facial recognition built into it when it was released in 2002 and final release was 2015 & they pulled the plug on it.
I don’t think any free release of any photo software since has included facial recognition that was freely available anyway. I’m sure commercial paid ones abound.
It will now become a push for more surveillance and cameras. First it was viewed as an intrusion now it is viewed as necessary for security and the capture of criminals. Interesting how things change.
Time for a massive ICE raid on Providence and Brown University, if they haven’t left for winter break yet!
A lot of “foreign” students at Brown and other Universities. They pay higher tuition – that’s why your kid or mine wouldn’t get accepted.
Ask for a timed stamped screen shot from every camera on campus at the time of the shooting.
Brown manipulated millions from our family via a senile, ninety five year old relative, against a background of suspicious deaths. When we asked Brown to explain this, two of its presidents in writing denied it. They lied.
There is no reason to believe anything Brown says. It’s operating as a crime syndicate, hiding behind the veneer of ‘Ivy League.’
that’s very sad… not just about the amount of money, but about the immorality of the ‘ivy league’ and the double-hurt caused to your family.
Nothing to see here you conspiracy nut jobs. All coincidence. All fine just random nut case who put 10 shots in one girls head. Go about your business drones
You know who is watching this closely? Palantir.
Palantir will be watching because if the families sue, the case goes straight to the legal legitimacy of data-driven surveillance as a risk-management tool.
Palantir’s business depends on institutions being able to argue that large-scale data collection, aggregation, and analysis are reasonable, defensible, and protective rather than intrusive.
If a court record develops in which an institution credibly argues that reducing or disabling surveillance was necessary to avoid civil-rights exposure, that undercuts the foundational premise Palantir sells to governments and quasi-public entities: that more data leads to safer governance with manageable legal risk.
Very perceptive point!
Court cases take years.
Games people play, continue unabated …
But, ‘they’ can still sell the surveillance equipment / installations – it make$ them money.
(but untold to the public, turn it off, and leave the false impression to those not in the know, that there are cameras.
A surveillance $tate, not being surveilled – except for those in control of the on / off button$ on a case by case basis.
Sick. Do you think the taxpayer$ like that notion?
hmmmm… )
[ kind of like when Epstein somehow passed away in a ‘secure’ prison, and the cameras were off ? ]
[ or kind of like the 2006 legislation for border security
– but funding for an actual secure border wall was not ‘appropriated’
until 2019 (14 years after legislation)
when a real wall began construction (and delayed again for 4 years under bran done) and restarted in 2025. ]
The games people play – it sounds like a song:
Love thy neighbors
Oh believe me. I agree this issue may not be settled before I pass. A case like this isn’t about stopping surveillance overnight.
Courts are slow, but they’re the only place where power has to define its limits in public. It’s about forcing institutions to accept where the 4th Amendment line is, why it exists, and who controls it. Once those arguments are on the record, they don’t disappear, even if the technology keeps advancing.
That does two things at once.
1) It sets boundaries
2) It teaches the public how these systems actually work rather than how they’re marketed.
Cynicism assumes the game never changes. Law is how the rules get written down, even if it takes time.
Brown, like many IHOPs (Indoctrination Houses of Progressivism), receives millions of dollars every year in federal money. Going to such an extent to thwart federal law enforcement efforts, and there should be no doubt about the woke motivation, should preclude any federal money going to this failed institution, especially given the horrific context in the immediate case.
And while we’re on it, THIS is one of the reasons, beyond the obvious security concern, why I’m against the President allowing in hundreds of thousands of Chinese nationals on student visas because of his fear, as he’s stated it, that many of them would fail otherwise. From my perspective, they’re failing now! These students will graduate with degrees of higher learning that are meaningless. They will be full of esteem about their own importance but know nothing. They will parrot the party line and vote for their own enslavement. Those, that is, that survive the stupidity of their administrators, as in the instant case.
The President cannot even begin to make the case for why these institutions should not be allowed to survive or fail on their own merits. Brown, and the tragedy that’s unfolded, is Exhibit A.
J
They do not get an education at Brown. They get contacts. It is the Club.
They get their Marxist indoctrination too.
If true, the lawsuit will be massive and punishing for Brown. Never trust leftists.
That mayor is a trip. He makes me long for Buddy Cianci, the Prince of Providence.
Back in the day, I once asked a lefty co-worker from RI how she could vote for Cianci after his obvious criminality, and she just looked at me as if I had two heads.
My question did not compute at all.
Absolutely
Stupid
Evil
Negligent
Careless
Illogical
And a host of other adjectives you can throw in.
Sue/fine/penalize them
for all they’re worth.
As CTH mentions,
It’s more than likely it’s NOT just Brown – but many many other schools and institutions that have disabled cameras… not for any freedom-related issues – but for DEI and an attempt to slow down/impede ICE enforcement actions.
I don’t have a child going to Brown – and I’ll darn well make sure any school they may in future attend – is NOT burdened with such negligent nonsense.
The government does not have a duty to protect. Read Dial 911 and Die! Thank God for the 2nd Amendment?

Not according to SCOTUS in DeShaney
Did u read it? It is hard to read, but what special interest did Brown have with victims?
If the Due Process Clause does not require the State to provide its citizens with particular protective services, it follows that the State cannot be held liable under the Clause for injuries that could have been averted had it chosen to provide them. As a general matter, then, we conclude that a State’s failure to protect an individual against private violence simply does not constitute a violation of the Due Process Clause.
Yes, I have read DeShaney.
All to cover up a targeted hit on a conservative student
X had a guy that they thought might have done it. Brown student and Brown scrubbed the web of his information. His walk was analyzed and it was a 97% match to a known clip of him walking. Something is rotten in Providence and something is rotten at the FBI.
and Denmark?
To be clear, the scrubbing came first but plenty was archived, so we can all see the full story of that particular guy.
It was the scrubbing that alerted people. It was NOT done, as claimed, afterwards to protect him (or it).
My most disfavored episodes of The Office focus on Michael Scott and his incompetance. Don’t like it cause I’m living it. See above.
according to he’s face he looks like he is middle eastern Terrorism,
As a westerner, Rhode Island seems a little like one of those small independent European fiefdoms. A university, disguised as a state with two voting senators.
On November 3, 2020, the state’s voters approved an amendment to the state constitution formally dropping “and Providence Plantations” from its full name. (wiki)
Perhaps some of the Dims realized that name could be problematic for their control over black voters.
having lived there, i can report that unfortunately,
it’s every bit as crooked as it’s bigger neighbors.
Providence (also known for it’s extensive red light district)
has been a leader in the corruption for years.
but it’s very sad that, as with so many of the blue states, R.I. is actually full of beauty.
ravines, grasslands, beaches, the coast and cliff walk (i recommend it!), woods –
a little something for everybody who loves nature.
ditto to the Illinois prairies, ditto to the Massachusetts sea coast,
ditto to the Vermont forests – all gorgeous, albeit leftie infested.
can we just require that all libs be sequestered in, say, Ohio? 🤣
(ok, apologies to all Ohioans here…
but golly, that’s a uniformly uniform state! 🥱 😂)
i’m getting tired of having some of my favorite real estate
ceded to folks who in turn make it unlivable.
well, thanks for setting me off on a diatribe, RJH!
i feel a little better now.😁
Don’t feel bad, I grew up in the lost civilization called California.
ouch, my commiserations!
and once again, a place of extraordinary scenic beauty, as i understand it.
sigh.
Yes. I have a soft spot for California coast scenery. So beautiful. But what a $hitty government

They know they need the cameras off so they can kill us without getting caught.
That $8 billion liability will attract the attention of a horde of lawyers.
Sidney Powell are you still reading here?
How now brown cow?💩
DEI , DEI, DEI, DEI, DEI all speaking gibberish.
It’s time for everyone to understand one simple truth….
The truth has been screaming in our ears….
Yet, we ignore it to our own peril….
We are being systematically hunted….
So how much more are we willing to endure in order to maintain the big lie….
That big lie is that we live in a country where everyone is equal before the state….
We do not….One side is hunting…the other side is dying…
Tired of being sheep?
It’s LONG PAST TIME we turn that around…..
NO MERCY!
Breaking News:
Brown University is announcing a new upgraded AI surveillance system has been ordered for the university and will be installed as soon as possible. It is capable of seeing people anywhere they are on campus, even behind and through walls or other obstructions. When installed, Brown University will be the most secure university in the US.
Disclaimer: It only works on white people.
Oh, that’s a good zing!
‘…Are we safe in Providence?…’
Only the radical leftist are safe.
Not onee to suggest lawsuits but the parents have rights. Also, considering they deliberately broke the federal law but disabling camera to hide illegals is a crime in itself.
Not sure about him being just a radio host, Chas Calenda is also a lawyer and running to be the AG of RI.
