In an effort to return common sense, practicality and affordability to the American consumer base for automobiles, President Trump announced the elimination of Joe Biden’s Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards for manufactured cars and trucks.
Under the auspices of the “Green New Deal”, the Biden administration mandated ridiculous quotas for EVs and demanded lower power combustible engines, or pay a climate change tax. These CAFE standards resulted in a surcharge for large vehicles, large engine autos and SUVs, and essentially bifurcated the auto consumer into those who could afford to pay for efficiency and stability, and those who could not.
“We’re officially terminating Joe Biden’s ridiculously burdensome, horrible actually, CAFE standards that impose expensive restrictions and all sorts of problems, gave all sorts of problems to automakers,” President Trump announced from the Oval Office. “It put tremendous upward pressure on car prices, combined with the insane electric vehicle mandate. Biden’s burdensome regulations helped cause the price of cars to soar more than 25%,” President Trump said. WATCH:
(Via White House) – DELIVERING A WIN FOR AMERICAN FAMILIES AND AUTOMAKERS: Today, President Donald J. Trump is delivering major relief to American families by resetting the Biden Administration’s costly and unlawful Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards.
President Trump is returning CAFE standards to levels that can actually be met with conventional gasoline and diesel vehicles. The Biden Administration standards imposed unrealistic fuel economy targets that effectively resulted in an electric vehicle (EV) mandate.
The Trump Administration’s reset of the CAFE standards ensures the program’s fidelity to the legal restrictions set forth by Congress.
The Biden standards broke the law by going far beyond the requirements that were mandated by Congress when it created the CAFE program.
SAVING AMERICAN FAMILIES MONEY: Today’s action represents an enormous win in response to the cost-of-living increases imposed on the economy by the Biden Administration.
The Biden Administration created extraordinarily stringent fuel economy standards for passenger cars and trucks, set at such aggressive levels that they were impossible to meet with available technologies for gas cars.
The Biden standards would have compelled widespread shifts to EVs that American consumers did not ask for, accompanied by significant cost-of-living increases. Since EVs are so expensive to build, automakers must sell them at a loss and make up the difference by significantly raising the sticker price of gas cars.
If President Trump had done nothing, the Biden standards would have raised the average cost of a new car by nearly $1,000, relative to the cost under the standards announced today.
President Trump’s actions will save American families $109 billion in total over the next five years.
By helping more Americans buy newer, safer vehicles, this reset is projected to save more than 1,500 lives and prevent nearly a quarter-million serious injuries through 2050.
MARKING A CRITICAL BATTLE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST BIDEN’S HIDDEN COST-OF-LIVING INCREASES: The CAFE reset represents the latest action by President Trump to prevent the Biden EV-related policies from raising costs for Americans.
In June, President Trump signed a joint resolution to end the California EV mandates, which would have effectively been a 100% ban on new gas cars sold in the state by 2035 (with similar effects in 17 states that adopted California’s standards).
In July, President Trump signed into law the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which set the civil penalty for violating CAFE standards to $0, protecting the U.S. auto manufacturing industry from significant fines.
Under President Trump, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has also released its proposal to rescind the 2009 Endangerment Finding, which ignores Congress’ clear intent under the Clean Air Act and has been used to justify over $1 trillion in costs for the American consumers and economy.
Today’s action helps ensure that even if far-left Democrats return to power, the CAFE standards are sensible, so U.S. automakers are not held to infeasible standards.
Combined with auto loan interest deductibility for new made-in-the-USA vehicles, President Trump continues to deliver real relief that makes owning a safe, reliable car more affordable for every American family. (source)

The Warming Stripes that Kill the Hockey Stick
Why a little known tree ring study is a smoking gun against the flat past, crisis now climate story.
Dr. Matthew Wielicki Dec 03, 2025
https://irrationalfear.substack.com/p/the-warming-stripes-that-kill-the
Hockey stick was shown to be a fraud over 15 years ago.
Yes, I believe his name was Micheal Mann and Mark Steyn challenged him. Appeals up and down, but I believe this guy was totally discredited.
Believe it or not it was 1998 when the guy was a professor at Penn State University.
Steyn essentially called him a fraud among other things while substituting for Rush Limbaugh, and in other venues; so Mikey sued him for defamation.
I believe it was discredited because it was manipulated by shortening the time frame to make it appear worse than it was. There is also the data that shows ocean warming that appeared to be from about the same time frame that caused many to question which came first. Did the ocean warm which caused co2 increase or did co2 increase cause ocean warming?
To this day scientists aren’t sure what causes the El Nino’s and La Nina’s which are ocean temperature based current anomalies. Could the simplest cause be massive undersea volcanoes?
Could the last 100 years of temperature warming actually be a natural occurrence that is essentially the last vestiges of the ice age going away? Could the glacier melting be part of this? There is lots of organic matter and preserved animals UNDER the permafrost which means the permafrost is not so permanent.
It was first challenged when Mann, Bradley & Hughes refused to release the data research which produced it – claiming “proprietary information & methods” which is the complete opposite of the scientific method.
However it was completely discredited following the climate gate scandal in 09 which released all the emails from HADCRUT showing how all the (corrupt) scientists were colluding to fake data and disparage honest scientists.
Fact is, all 20 trees from Briffa’s reconstruction, save one on the Yamal Peninsula, showed remarkable cooling from the 60s through the 80s so Mann applied, according to Phil Jones’ email, “Mikes Nature Trick” which cut off the tree ring data showing the cooling and spliced on the modern thermometer record, creating the blade of the “hockey stick”.
Other emails revealed they went to the retired godfather of climate warming science, Tom Wigley, who himself was skeptical of publishing the paper writing in the emails “how do we know a reindeer didn’t take a crap next to this tree !”
The whole thing is a FRAUD, and Michael Mann is a POS !
You should check out the video by Minnesotans For Global Warming which came out back then when the Fraud was revealed, which hysterically mocked him in a parody sung to Tommy James “Draggin the Line” !!!
The parody, is called
“Hide the Decline” which is what he did when he illegitimately spliced the two datasets together – without admitting as much – which would have immediately discredited the entire endeavor.
Very cool, and certainly a right thing to do. I’ll believe something when the Grosse Point Myopians come out and say, “Hey, we’ve had these horrid regulations done away with and now your Toyota Highlander or Tacoma or Ford Explorer or GMC Acadia is going to be $1,000 less.”
Reading that O’Biden’s mandate was against the wishes of Congress, got me thinking was there ever ONE lawsuit instigated by ONE Republican against this?
You know like the hundreds of judge hopping Demoncraps suites against President Trump.
Strange that.
“helped cause the price of cars to soar more than 25%.”
But we will save $1,000 on a $50,000 vehicle.
With savings like that, I should go buy myself two new vehicles.
“But we will save $1,000 on a $50,000 vehicle.”
Short answer: No.
Good news. Now work on getting rid of federal mandate on ethanol (sorry not sorry Iowa), and get rid of the ridiculous catalytic converters that rob cars of horsepower and rob at least 2mg from overall mileage.
Agreed. Removing unrealistic CAFE standards are a good start though.
Good PDT is getting rid of ridiculous BS imposed on Americans. Does this mean we’ll be able to find regular light bulbs again soon?
Thank you, from another old retired guy. I was just about to mention the light bulb
nonsense.
This would be the second time, if he fixes it, which I think he’ll do, but not fast enough. I already run out of incandecents.
Yes – they make me incandescent with rage
You get more light using less wattage. Why would you go back to inccandecents?
If even the BBC reports on it, perhaps more than meets the eye. I also despise the light. It’s cold. I prefer the warm light of an incandescent bulb.
https://www.bbcearth.com/news/are-led-lights-making-us-ill
Because they last longer.
How about for the warmth in winter and the health positive light spectrum?
I am from Iowa and I despise ethanol.
It is the corporate corn farmers who make the money. I sure glad there are farmers that still grow sweet corn.
I’m from Wisconsin, and Brandy is our favorite form on ethanol. It’s not just for breakfast!
Yup, a shot and a shnit, its what’s for breakfast.
It dramatically increased food prices by diverting corn away from. food and feed.
As predicted, by logical people.
Right! Get the Coяn Slurp out of our fuel! It ruins the carbs on my antique motorcycles.
My motorcycles run better on gasoline. No lean pops on deceleration.
Alcohol does not have as much energy as gasoline, so E10 has about 5% less energy, so you go 5% less far.
Absolutely agree!!! Put all the corn back into the food chain!!!! Subsidize the framers if necessary to keep them whole we need all our farmers!!! So very few in the country know how to grow crops or raise cattle!!! Every farmer/rancher should be a millionaire instead of making corrupt Somalis millionaires!!! Ethanol free gasoline is more expensive that gas with ethanol!? JMO
And the emissions testing racket. P0420 code, catalytic converter operating at less than 95% efficiency. 95%!!!
Solution, new cat, at $2-3k. Or replace with an overpriced new car, that spies on you. Your “choice”.
The Globalists are on board with this actually. The Green Scam is over as it always was a construct for control of us deplorables.
Now that AI is here, the Globlists realize that it’s a better and more efficient control vector.
AI needs abundant and cheap energy to proliferate.
See how that works?
Perfect! Maybe communist states like Washington will be forced to give up most of the green new scam garbage like the restrictions on plastic bags. Big surprise, the U of Washington just came out with a study that there’s actually more plastic going into landfills now because the plastics being disposed of is heavier. Good job leftists. Doesn’t impact those of us who travel to Idaho for most shopping. Also, we bring back all of the Styrofoam cups we want from Idaho even though they’re also banned in the communist state.
They banned Styrofoam starting this year with a bill they passed last year banning plastic shopping bags here in CO.
So as a carryout restaurant this translates to about a 1$ increase in price since the 9×9 Styro boxes were .05 each before WuFlu, .10 each after then to get “fiber” boxes aka paper 🙄 the cost goes to about .80 each, 1.25 if getting the “reusable” PET ones which seems to be the prevalent one since the fiber boxes are rather flimsy & the see thru top ones are more “appealing”. Whatever… the customer gets the bill for it… extra food inflation on all the “mandated” packaging and its not even for food… like that isn’t inflated enough on its own.
Technically that also means that you have to use paper bags then to carry out food which are also more expensive tho I see that most of the non fast food restaurants still use the old T shirt bags from “existing stock” since that is still legal, I know I bought a boat load of them after I read the law. 😉
Everything I purchase these days is heavy duty plastic wrapped garbage and if I’m lucky a free thin paper bag that tears before I get it home. Shrinking bottles = 2x plastic plus the deceptive bigger bottle with less in it. Yep I have way more plastic waste than ever before. Cheap plastic carry out bags are .15 xtra cents and can’t be reused for small trash cans, such as the bathroom wastebasket. Stores that refuse to take their 5 cent returns back since Covid all go in the garbage now! What does NY care, that means they get to keep the extra money. Plus they charge more for a large clear plastic recycle bag than the returns are worth. All by design!
AI will have all but been forgotten in 5 years. Just another IT fad to suck money from people and companies.
AI will not be forgotten in five years because the damage will still be visible for another 20 years.
There will be benefits but we’ll have to wait and see how that shakes out with the negatives. Anything that requires studying lots of data will benefit from AI. One example would be sorting through all the combinations of chemicals and materials to arrive at new products. Polyester is one where researchers tried hundreds of combinations before they got one that worked.
AI will also come up with disease cures that humans may never stumble on a specific combination of things that work. I would think that AI will also remove the necessity of animal testing by finding a combination that requires less trial and error. It’s not all doom and gloom.
To get there though we need laws identifying all AI generated text, audio, and video with a yellow warning triangle that can’t be missed. There should also be laws restricting the use by second and third parties unless those warnings stay attached.
“The Globalists are on board with this actually.” Did you check this with Al and Gretta?
Big Win!
I work in the Industry. Waiting for this. JD Vance gave a video address @ our Dealer Mtg.
https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a69474457/toyota-chairman-akio-toyoda-trump-vance-t-shirt-maga-hat-at-nascar-event-in-japan/
Outstanding.
Good news but isn’t the cancellation only for 5 years? And can a new administration cancel the cancel?
This is another point that Congress needs to take action on.
And the first thing Congress needs to do is to state there is no existential climate crisis and the data supporting that fable was and continues to be manipulated.
Next stop mucking up the environment with solar farm and wind mill monstrosities that are a waste of money and valuable resource land. As well as killing off wildlife and destroying ecosystems.
I forgot to add that recognizing the crisis is a fairy tale will help the mental health of those who succumbed to the fear-mongering globalists.
President Trump Cancels Joe Biden CAFE Standards Against Auto Industry[This article]
************
An older article at TheConservitiveTreehouse well worth another read: >China and Blackrock – Biden EPA Rolls Out USA Auto Mandates Forcing EVs to Make Up Two-Thirds of Passenger Vehicles – Who Benefits?< [March 20, 2024]
“The backstory is so transparently corrupt it requires an explanation, so we’ll go down the full rabbit hole and explain how China knew – to a demonstrable certainty – their multi-billion dollar investment in Mexican EV plants would be useful.” …
“So, let’s encapsulate things so far. (1) The interests of Blackrock determined the White House key staff and policy makers. (2) The Donilon clan represented those Blackrock interests and worked inside both the White House and State Dept to create and maintain policy favorable to Blackrock’s Chinese EV position. (3) China/Blackrock invest massively in Mexican EV production. (4) White House/EPA generate policy to support the Blackrock investment.
That’s how the three Chinese auto firms could be so sure of their decision in 2023 to invest in the Mexican Blackrock EV plan. The one that President Donald Trump rightly says will create a “bloodbath” in the U.S auto industry.”
***********
An excellent older article from Sundance, with far more than just the few chosen quotes I placed here in this comment section. ….. It’s also noted that “Biden is a blithering idiot, a pretense, a false target. Biden reads what people tell him to read; he’s not the origin of the feces he spouts. Silver Spoon, “lunch bucket” Biden has no clue, and his Blackrock handlers keep him that way.”
**********
We all know, (GGHD here) that Joe Biden’s administration was comprised of criminals. … We are in a struggle still, with all the criminals in our governments (Federal, State, Local) and all over elsewhere in the USA.
…….. May God Bless President Donald J. Trump and the MAGA movement.
My gripe with that article and the many like it…. BlackRock is the fall man just like the Fed is the fall man.
Government…Democrat/Communist Government forced and wanted all that change. Just like the spending. BlackRock pushed it and Fink was being a good little boy. It is not the Fed doing the spending that causes inflation….It is the UniParty.
All the government has to do is tell Fink, we are going to look into BlackRock and think it is too big to fail. We need to break it apart. Fink says what can I do to help you with your other problems if you would leave BlackRock alone?
Terry Anderson, your analysis is one method of identifying the influential people in our American political system.
Another method was presented here on TheConservativeTreehouse: >The 2025 MAGA Fracture and the Benefactors Behind It<November 22, 2025
“At this point in the analysis, it is worthwhile dropping the traditional viewpoint of U.S. politicians as “candidates” and start thinking about them in the more accurate term as “horses.” The horses race in the Kentucky Derby, but it is the owners who win the prize money.”
“When you view U.S. politicians as horses in the various races, we start to think more clearly about who their owners are. This is the key to understanding U.S political candidates.”
“You might be able to remember the name of the horse who won the Triple Crown, you might even remember the jockey who rode the horse, but less likely you remember who owned it. In U.S. politics, it’s the owners within the political races who control the horses not the horses who control the owners.”
Oh and for good measure that ridiculous DEF emissions tech required for diesel engines should be disposed of. I’ve heard of nothing but problems for any vehicle owners that ever had to deal with it.
That was my first reaction when I read this also. DEF has been a disaster to trucks and machinery. Pre-DEF, low mileage trucks are bringing a premium price now. Many light to medium duty trucks are back to gad engines instead due to this and ultra low sulfur fuel. I know Fire Departments that would rather have rebuilds on older apparatus than purchase new. New engines are junk. Ambulances are by far choosing gas over diesel when ever possible.
That runs downhill to affect small Volunteer Departments that have depended on used equipment due to low budgets. Premium prices on older apparatus makes needed replacements that much harder to find funding for.
One trucking company was buying new chassis and pulling the old motors out of the old trucks and rebuilding them and putting them in the new trucks.
If they would build 90-150 hp tractors without DEF and all of the electronic garbage they could sell thousands of them immediately. Farmers are keeping their old tractors and rebuilding them. They are worth more now than when they were new.
The same is happening with larger equipment as well.
We will see. The auto industry, like other industries that instituted impact fees, fuel surcharges and other ways to cope with rapidly rising and unpredictable fuel prices have not rolled many of those charges back. I sincerely doubt that the automotive industry will decrease the price of vehicles now that they are where they are.
Unfortunately they can/will only do it for new design products, the design cycle for GM is/was basically 6 years for a new product for the first model year. After about 3 years they will then incorporate “updates” which means whatever happened in the wild that had mandated recalls on it will then be included in the re-tooling for the next 3 years.
Then a new model is either a redesign of the old (or totally new) to incorporate whatever changes the government has mandated either to safety or CAFE then the cycle starts again.
Maybe by 28 we will see prices go down as everything is already baked into the cake currently and even if they start today it will be at least 2 years to build and test to meet all of the government standards before it will ever move to production.
I doubt they will really do anything different unless CONgress changes the law permanently so the next potential puppet does not just put it right back on Jan 21 2029 or 33 or 37.
The automotive industry has made passenger vehicles 1000x too complicated with unnecessary computerized tech.
A technophile race to see who can add the most superfluous unreliable tech features the fastest, selling to tech-bedazzled consumers glued to smartphones and IoT.
Usability? Human factors engineering? Fuggedaboutit, get used to finding a simple user setting buried 3 menus and 4 submenus down in a 9 inch touchscreen, it will take at least 10 minutes to find instructions in the thick user manual – IF you can figure out the incompetently designed manual.
“Driver Assistance” features that activate when they shouldn’t and fail to activate when they should. In other words: Worse than useless.
God help the grossly underpaid automotive service people struggling to diagnose and repair these nightmare “smartphone-on-wheels” vehicles.
What we need are dead-simple ultra-reliable ICE vehicles that last a long time with minimal maintenance and repair costs. But no, the techies have overrun everything, they need a reason to exist, and so we have these monstrosities on wheels.
The industry will not make simple lower-cost (affordable) vehicles. It’s that simple.
Ford made a simple low-cost vehicle. Ford Maverick.
When the demand outpaced the supply, they thought they would make more money on the same number of sales by putting all of the garbage on them and raise the price from $20,000 t0 $35,000.
They ruined their market and the idiots still have not figured out what happened.
Correct. If they would bring back the original Ford Ranger/Mazda B2000 pickup truck, they’d make a mint. Changing direction a bit, the new electric pickup, Slate, trying get off the ground. Nice truck. But they should offer the option putting in a 4-cycliner gas engine in lieu of batteries. Thy would make a mint. My point is that there is market for a small pickup, an urban pickup if you want to call it that, that is being overlooked.
“Combined with auto loan interest deductibility for new made-in-the-USA vehicles, President Trump continues to deliver real relief that makes owning a safe, reliable car more affordable for every American.”
This is NOT that big of a deal. 2022 is the most recent tax year for which statistics for itemizing are available, and in that year only 9.8% of returns filed itemized.
Going forward, that number is going to drop even more, especially as the standard deduction is higher — AND on top of that for everyone over 65 an additional $6000 per person can be added due to the way the “no tax on SS” promise had to be done in the BBB.
Sure, some higher income folks may see this new tax perk as beneficial if they are just below the threshold between using the standard deduction and itemizing….but seriously, that number can’t be very meaningful in the greater scheme of things 😎
Just sayin’…….
I think you got that wrong. You can deduct the interest on a qualifying American-made auto loan even if you take the standard deduction. This deduction allows you to write off up to $10,000 in interest paid on eligible vehicle loans from 2025 through 2028.
Whatever the reality, the media is going to run with “CLIMATE CHANGE!! We’re all going to die because of Trump!”
The stupid CAFE standards are why we have ten speed transmissions that cost upwards of five thousand to ten thousand dollars to replace.
An in-line 4.0 four cylinder engine or an in-line six cylinder with a 5-speed overdrive standard transmission has proven to be the most durable and economical combination there is.
Agreed!
Bring back small diesel engines. Great fuel efficiency and built to last hundreds of thousands of miles. I miss all the VW models that used to be available. And whatever happened to Jeep’s diesel offering? The Germans were idiots to stop making them, but maybe an American manufacturer (like Cummins) will step up.
Why is it taking so long to defuse these mines layer to destroy the country?
The entire affordability issue is the result of such poison pills enacted, ordered and regulated by our enemies.
Like killing all the chickens to protect us from the bird flu and immediately blaming Trump for the resulting high price of eggs.
The Biden standards broke the law by going far beyond the requirements that were mandated by Congress when it created the CAFE program.
I’m shocked…SHOCKED…that Biden broke the law, I tells ya…
And in 3..2..1..
“Federal court Judge [insert your liberal appointed judges name & region here] overturns this action by PDJT calling it Illegal & Unconstitutional.
Café / shmafé….
Wifey and I both loved our white-with-black-vinyl top 1970 4-dr. Ford Thunderbird Brougham with its 429 Thunder Jet engine.
Got 10 mpg highway AND city, take your pick….🤣
And with its 24 gal fuel tank, I could go 220 miles (and do that really really fast!) before the red low fuel dash light came on….
Of course gasoline was only about 30 cents per gallon back then…..
1972 Oldsmobile 98 with a 455 Rocket. I bought it for $700 with an income tax return. The transmission went out and before I could get it fixed the wife called the wrecker and hauled it off while I was at work.
I will never let her live it down.
Ouch. That can sure wound a relationship.
1963 Buick Wildcat bought for $400. 445 with a holly four-barrel carburetor. I had to replace the torque converter in the transmission.
It would pass everything but a gas station. The sweet spot was 80 mph. Rode like a dream but was a tank that saved my life. A 1963 chevy pickup crossed into my lane and hit me head-on. I walked off mad as a hornet. They got carried off.
Due the highest electricity costs in California, and despite the highest gas prices in the US, it only costs about $20 more to drive an average gas driven car 500 miles than a EV 500 miles. But that savings would more than be wiped out by the much higher depreciation costs incurred with purchasing an EV.
The U.S. electrical grid is about 25% short of being able to re-charge all cars ( if they were all EV ).
So, the ‘savings’ stated above would not be relevant – unless one considered a lot lesst traveling, less mobility.
And less mobility has a cost.
This is another Xiden Green New Deal restriction that needs to end. I don’t want LED light bulbs. I want Incandescent light bulbs.
Chairman Lee Introduces Bill to End Biden Era Lightbulb Ban
https://www.energy.senate.gov/2025/5/chairman-lee-introduces-bill-to-end-biden-era-lightbulb-ban
Maybe bring this to the next level and reign in the DOE.
How about we eliminate it in its entirety.
Were those CAFE Standards part of why cars are being manufactured out of Christmas wrapping paper?
Lighter bodies, better gas mileage?
Does anyone else ever notice when you see the photos of terrible wrecks that it looks like the auto body was SO lightweight that it was basically torn off from the chassis?
Also, because they are lighter, is that why if the car bumps into the divider let’s say it doesn’t have enough weight to stay on the ground but instead bounces off and becomes airborne?
One good thing about technology is manufacturers have more powerful tools to design safer cars. The structure of the car absorbs more energy than in designs of the past. This results in the car basically sacrificing itself in an accident thus increasing survivability for the occupants. Outer skins of the car have never offered much in the way of protection. They only serve to give the car its exterior shape.
New cars a basically a disposable item.
Perhaps unintended in the above message,
is that technology going to help vehicles to fly?
( would need an enhanced steering mechanism for controlled flight ).
…patent pending…
Good. The Green New Deal isn’t green. EV’s aren’t green, and as more information comes out about them, fewer and fewer people actually want them. The US auto industry needs to be revitalized and canceling CAFE standards is a step in the right direction.
Stop immigration legal & illegal and deport. That will lower US & Global “Green House Gases” while true environmental protection. The hijacked Environmental Movement is exposed with their non stance against immigration, legal or illegal.

This is a YUUUGE victory for America. Sadly, the uniparty refuses to codify any of the victories PDJT47 is delivering for us. The next time the socialists are in power, the President Potato CAFE standards will reemerge and be codified into law after the socialists stop pretending that the filibuster is anything but an illusion.
A useful win and another nail in the coffin of those stupid electric fire boxes.
Thank you President Trump! I never understaood the CAFE logic for the stop-start technology mandated on venhicles. I always maintained that there was much more VOCs released to the atmosphere by shutting off a vehicle at a stop and then restarting when the driver pressed on the accelerator. Each time the car started VOCs were pushed out the talepipe. The catalitic converter was designed to trap the VOCs. How does it perform its function if the car suddenly stops or the catalitic converter cools and is no longer at full capacity?
Why do I suspect no actual benefits analysis were ever done on CAFE? I worked in the environmental business for 23 years. I have first-hand knowledge what pollution control systems can and cannot do when variability is introduced.
This is great news. Now maybe he can do something about the Biden mandated central air units in residential houses. The cost for new is almost double the older units. The technicians tell us Biden mandated these new units that cost so much more. They have gone from about $7,000 up to $13,000 and even $20,000.
Yep, just paid 13K for a new home AC/Gas heating unit. And the best thing is that the Freon used in the new units is FLAMMABLE! Nothing like having a bomb in your attic. And of course the new units have all kinds of sensors to prevent an explosion and that costs way more money. R-410A was mandated by the EPA because it was environmentally friendly. Then the EPA discovered it wasn’t. So they changed the standard to R-454B which is flammable. AC companies spent millions designing new systems just because the government made a gigantic mistake. And to top it all off, the new refrigerant is flammable. Great job, EPA!
This is great news!
Didn’t he recently state that anything signed by the autopen was null and void? Does he still need to go through each order or law signed and cancel each one?
A halt to the incrementalism? That’s good.
We’re still a long way from getting out of the woods without some rollback of existing regulations. (CAFE, EPA, crash standards, etc.) Those existing regs are still enough to ensure we keep getting throw-a-way gas and diesel vehicles that Joe Six Pack can’t afford.
It’s like inflation. Just because it has stopped does not mean the value of your 2019 dollar has returned. The previous damage is still with us . We’ll probably never again see a 2004 Camry type car that runs 350,000 miles without issues.
Some people have a recent vehicle with 280,000 mi. and still going.
Great news!
There is no shortage of oil…..
The Earth produces more everyday…..
There is more oil under the ground than water in the seas…..
The EPA should be completely eliminated…..
It is a cesspool of Marxist agenda….
Now if we can only create a shortage of Democrat filth….
That would be of great benefit to both the Earth and mankind….
Would this mean we can legally “fix” our currently owned diesel pickups that have been emissioned into unreliable yard ornaments?
Good. Maybe we can get rid of these stupid switches that shut your engine off every time you come to a complete stop. This is almost as dumb as in the 70’s your car telling you with voice “your door is ajar” or putting a switch in the seat belt system that wouldn’t let you start until you inserted the belt into the buckle.
Good news! Now let’s pass auto “right to repair” legislation, which enjoys widespread bipartisan support. It’s been introduced in both the house and the senate. What’s the hold-up?
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/11/05/study-155-million-vehicle-owners-face-34-billion-in-added-costs-without-congressional-action/
I would like the regulations eliminated so we can see the return of the Datsun 510 pickup or the early ’70 Toyota HiLux.
It would be great to see Chevrolet make a new version of the 1969 Chevelle SS 396.
