For months, the so-called “coalition of the willing” led by Great Britain, France and Germany, have been proposing a multinational group of peacekeepers on the ground in Ukraine – supported by U.S. military. However, after President Trump asserted he would not support a U.S. troop presence in Ukraine, things got sticky.
Without the U.S. military, the NATO members were not willing to put their troops into the meat grinder buffer zone between Russian and Ukrainian forces. The U.K, France and Germany continually demanded U.S. troops as protection, just in case things escalated. This insurance approach was expanded by Ukrainian President Zelenskyy who coined the term, “security guarantee” to encapsulate the EU demand.
However, President Trump cuts the Gordian knot in the “ceasefire plan,” by eliminating the “ceasefire plan.”
Instead, President Trump goes directly to a peace agreement, and somehow the EU members agreed to it. There will be no negotiation for a ceasefire; instead there will be immediate negotiations for a long-term peace agreement.
PRESIDENT TRUMP – “A great and very successful day in Alaska! The meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia went very well, as did a late-night phone call with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, and various European Leaders, including the highly respected Secretary General of NATO. It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere Ceasefire Agreement, which often times do not hold up. President Zelenskyy will be coming to D.C., the Oval Office, on Monday afternoon. If all works out, we will then schedule a meeting with President Putin. Potentially, millions of people’s lives will be saved. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” (link)
President Trump does not publicly point out that the shift in plan negates the need for a ceasefire security force, but the reality is inside the unspoken change. A very smart and strategic approach that appears to have flown under the radar.
WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump has won the support of Western partners for his bid to end the war in Ukraine, with European capitals voicing their approval following his high-stakes talks with Russia’s Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
Trump spoke with top EU leaders on Saturday morning after the bilateral summit on Friday appeared to end without an agreement.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also took part in the telephone conversation, alongside Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, Finland’s Alexander Stubb, Poland’s Karol Nawrocki and Italy’s Giorgia Meloni were confirmed by Brussels to have joined. A second call was then held by the European leaders without Zelenskyy and the Americans to discuss the situation.
In a statement, Zelenskyy said that he had a “long and substantive” conversation with Trump, initially one-on-one, before other leaders were invited to take part. “We support President Trump’s proposal for a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the U.S. and Russia,” he said, adding that he will travel to Washington on Monday to meet with Trump.
“As envisioned by President Trump, the next step must now be further talks including President Zelenskyy, whom he will meet soon,” the group of European countries represented on the call said in a statement. “We are also ready to work with President Trump and President Zelenskyy towards a trilateral summit with European support.” (read more)
Zelenskyy will be in Washington DC on Monday afternoon for a talk with President Trump. In that meeting, we anticipate President Trump telling Zelenskyy that the general terms of the ‘peace agreement’ will be to include the permanent loss of territory in exchange for something we do not yet know.

We’re on such a slippery slope, those of us old enough to remember the insidious mission creep which resulted in the Vietnam debacle know how precarious this moment is.
Vietnam killed and maimed young kids needlessly. Took my 18,19 and 20 birthday years. Got home safely 20 days before my 21 st. Killed many of my best high school friends. I will never forget!!
Thank you for your service Bobo. And condolences on the loss of your friends.
Yes, a needless war that only made the military industrial complex rich.
Read “About Face” by Col. David Hackworth. Best book on Vietnam in my opinion.
Hackworth died too soon. He would have loved President Trump.
“…a needless war that only made the military industrial complex rich.”
That’s why Biden started the needless Ukrainian war, for the MIC.
And his ten percent.
Side note…how many of these ‘desk jockeys’ are willing to send their own children to the wars they create in an office at a desk?
Better yet–send their sorry useless butts to the front lines.
What blows me away is the die hard democrats who in the 60’s were so anti-war but are now gung ho for this…….(or maybe it’s just the media driving the support). We had a neighbor who was flying a flag on their house that had both the American flag combined with a Ukrainian flag. I was so absolutely disgusted……but you know what? I prayed for that neighbor, because rather than getting angry and wasting time fuming about such a disgrace, I prayed that they would realize what an insult this was. Don’t know exactly why, but they eventually took it down. I hope and pray that they had a change of heart and realized what a crappy thing that piece of cloth meant to his neighbors.
I blame the media for cherry picking facts about Zelensky and the financial support that he’s been getting. This whole situation has been a total and complete exercise in CORRUPTION – pure and simple.
You should have seen all of the Ukraine flags decorating Anchorage yesterday.
Those who support the war from our own Congress either have no children (Lindsey Graham) or have children old enough to be out of range? Not sure, but we should make sure that those who throw monkey wrenches in our President’s national security and foreign policy decisions which might lead to war, should have their children first in line of a special draft!
Made the see-y-a/ state department (one and the same) very, very rich.
And for what? We were never in danger. A made-up excuse about dominos falling as I remember.
It was a weapons testing ground, explosive and otherwise.
While in Vietnam my 22 year old (infantry 2nd lieutenant) cousin Michael died from a bullet shot into his forehead.
My father served in the infantry in WWII. My father-in-law, a marine sergeant major, was a gunner in WWII. He served three tours in VietNam and died from complications due to exposure to Agent Orange.
My uncle was a POW during WWII.
As a middle school girl, I was on U.C Berkeley’s campus demonstrating against the Viet Nam War. I protested during high school, and at the beginning of college.
No, it was not due to drugs, sex and rock-in-roll. I am extremely antiwar.
After college, I was married to a career infantry officer. I support the armed forces. Priority should be a well-armed, highly trained and very fit military (as a deterrent to war).
I am pro America, and conservative in many ways.
That does not include involvement in wars to enrich certain industries.
Maybe someone in the military industrial complex can explain the reason for the service members deaths, or catastrophic injuries from Vietnam, Afghanistan or Iraq.
How many senators children were maimed or killed in any of these wars?
My family on both sides, have served, and suffered for this country as far back as the Civil War.
“War. What’s it good for?”
“Absolutely nothing!”
(Except to line politicians, and their handlers’ pockets.)
War is a multi-billion dollar industry and has been throughout history. There are gains and there are losses, similar to those in a ledger book. Those with the most gains are the winners; those with the most losses are the losers. Caught literally in the crossfire between the pluses and minuses are people, all of whom are expendable in order to keep those gains and losses in play.
Then there are those ignoble ”entities” who are the warmongers. They move their chess pieces around on the board for their own best advantage. At times they call out ”Checkmate” and at other times they are ”Checkmated” themselves. So, they wipe the board, and set up new pawns on the board.
And, don’t forget about the ”carpetbaggers” who swoop in and sweep up the pieces and provide the new pawns for the board at a price that most are more than willing to pay to keep the game going. As I began, so I will end…”War is a multi-billion dollar industry….”
I am deeply saddened at the losses which are happening to those who do NOT want to play the game, but are forced to.
God Bless you for making it through they meat grinder Bobo, appreciate your service, sorry for your pals!
My husband, who served during the Vietnam years in Alaska, came from a tiny town in Southern Illinois. His friends were drafted and sent to Vietnam — David, Walter, George, Ted all friends. One (who I never met, so I can’t remember his name) was killed. The others came home, but totally messed up.
Also, his brother was in a special forces type situation — he and another were the only ones left from his unit after being caught in a firefight. One of the two would do the shooting while the other ran back for ammunition — they did this for a long time. They took turns doing that.
His brother returned and ended up married with two boys, but left his good-paying job and his family as the ghosts of that time took him over. He had wanted to be a priest before, but his guilt about all of the killing kept him from it. He has since disappeared, and no one in the family knows where he is.
This is the reality of war that our greedy Congress critters refuse to see. Yes, that war took a major toll. Thank you for your service, Bobo. God bless.
President Trump is a genius!
DS troll Jay Marks, aka Skid Marks… “I call him Skid Marks!” in my best Trump impersonation…will show up soon to disagree with you and tell us how wrong/stupid/dumb Trump is.
I nicknamed him Skid Marks as a reference to what is underwear must look like with all his doom-&-gloom.
Trump, known for genius succinct nicknames, would approve.
G.O.A.T.
I cannot recall ever witnessing a better negotiator and dealmaker than our Lion. 💕
(whenever I see GOAT I can’t help but remember my mom’s stupid goat who always climbed on his pen to sleep, kicked his food pan all over, then brayed for food. 😂🤣😘)
It took me some time to figure out what those four letters meant, sis.
(Your mother’s goat was probably the first cousin of all cats 😉)
Could be. 😆
I think we can assume he had a large assist, at least, from Putin. For that matter, had Russia not won the war we would be knee deep in neocon/globalist doodoo.
I agree with this.
There are wheels within wheels I believe, another deeper agenda for which proxy war peace is simply the outer covering.
It will be illuminating to see what happens with Zelensky on Monday. I doubt there will be a replay of his NATO/MIC directed pantomime which we witnessed earlier this year in the WH.
“Build your opponent a golden bridge to retreat across.”
~Sun Tzu
A quote which is redolent of the greatest builder, President Trump, and his predeliction for all things golden.
I just feel the stirrings of something monumental and unexpected on the horizon.
It’s almost palpable.
That would be my heart – it’s palpitating thinking about the ladies of the treehouse in All American Jeans… 😮
LOLZ! 🤣
Z gets offered several hundred million $$$ and an estate somewhere in return for disappearing and turning his country over to a new leader.
He has already purchased more than one mansion with US taxpayer money so he can leave without any increase in funds. He is a disgraceful supposed human being. He should have simply continued his comedy career instead of destroying Ukraine in his megalomaniac nightmare. Just my personal opinion. I would like to know who convinced him that he could accomplish a military win vs Russia. And I hope whoever they are will reap the hell they have sewn.
Didn’t say he deserved it, but what do you think it’s gonna take for him to go away short of an assassination?
Wonder if he’ll have a pep talk pre-meeting with Lindsey, et. al.?
Miss Lindsey is on record before Friday’s meeting…and in video…saying “It is time to end the war.”
Whaaaaa?????
Something is going on.
Neocon’Globalists are good at propaganda. Start a war at the far end of the earth with a nuclear power and you know you cannot win. Kill millions for no good reason. These people are evil.
👆👆👆
Yes, and while negotiations in place, Russia get out there and go big militarily until Z raises white flag.
The state of Europe in 1444.
what a fantastic map!
I voted for this!
If they want war, let them spend the money and blood….
We are done with made up wars….
Not sure about the ‘safer place’ aspect.
Is the Deep State back to trying to execute another color revolution in Serbia? With NATO too?
I don’t see a problem with Vucic. He was elected by a majority. They already ripped away Kosovo & then some.
Is this the Globalist ‘consolation prize’?
I suggest we keep our eyes on Serbia & Romania also.
NATO’s invested quite a bit on that naval base on the Crimean Sea.
the armenian/azerbaijan “peace” deal is not what it seems, either….
I wondered about that one too. The Armenian Christians have been murdered for a very long time by the Azerbaijanian Muslims (Turkish too) and the world leaders have stayed silent.
They deny their genocide of Christians and world leaders ignore it because Christianity is a threat to Communism all over world.
It is safer today but you are right about ‘it isn’t over’ Serbia, Romania, Constanta are still part of NATO/USAID ‘ s problem “going forward”. A phrase I detest.
Tariff you go again!
WORDMAN has so many assistants he’s gonna need a new office branch.
😁
The US presstitutes can’t believe there’s no peace agreement? How exactly is President Trump going to be able to sign a peace treaty on behalf of another country?????
They say anything, no matter how ridiculous.
Then you see it repeated ad nauseum.
“How exactly is President Trump going to be able to sign a peace treaty on behalf of another country?????”
President Trump – “If the US taxpayers are funding every facet of said country’s government, is it really another country at that point?”
I think not.
This needs to be a much more vocal presentation by the Republican Party, at least those that have joined the Trumpian platform. Trump is creating peace and prosperity on a large scale. The Abraham Accords, his administrations plans for Gaza which facilitate a territory were people can live and succeed. He’s promoted peace between Pakistan and India, he is at the cusp of creating a lasting geopolitical relationship with Russia. Whereupon everywhere you look at the modern day Democrats is conflict, anger, creating false enemies of the state, vilifying other nations and there people’s. Pounding the war drums. The GOP with Trump as it’s guide is charting a course of peace and the extended hand of a sincere relationship. I guess it’s what Sundance has articulated in a nutshell.
You are assuming that there are “RepubliCons” who have “joined the Trumpian platform.”
I would counter that there aren’t any UniParty RepubliCons who are allies of President Trump and the MAGA platform.
Hence, they are silent.
Interestingly enough, Laura Loomer is reporting that plane loads of Gazans are arriving in the US, visas in hand.
Who is giving them visas?! We don’t need any more here!!
I’m willing to protect Ukraine from the CIA and NATO.
That’s my Security Guarantee.
Lol
Also the US Treasury!
Don’t forget Blackrock
That seems to be President Trump’s plan all along: to isolate NATO and the CIA but to offer separate security guarantees for Ukraine outside of NATO. A clever move.
The Telegraph is in the lead with the leaks:
US president Donald Trump told Ukraine’s leader on Saturday that Russia’s Vladimir Putin offered to freeze the frontlines elsewhere if Kyiv agreed to withdraw from the eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions, a person familiar with the matter said.
…gots the feeling’—-“something we do not yet know” is the icing on the cake! And it will be OH so sweet
But I was told by the MSM that the Summit was a total failure. 🥴.
Failure for whom?
Tass news article. RUS news outlets have better news on the Summit.
Article: Amid US-Russia thaw EU tries to harm Moscow through its allies — Serbia’s ex-deputy PM
European Union, which has lost its influence over the Ukrainian crisis and failed to establish itself as a decisive actor, is now searching for new avenues to affirm its relevance, Vulin said
BELGRADE, August 16. /TASS/. The European Union, having found itself in a humiliating position following the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, is now seeking to undermine Moscow by pressuring its allies. Former Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and former head of the Security and Information Agency, Aleksandar Vulin, shared these insights in an interview with TASS.
“Improved relations between the United States and Russia are undoubtedly positive for our region, especially if Washington ceases its policy of exerting pressure on political and economic cooperation between Russia and Serbia. However, despite this, I do not expect that the pressure on security collaborations between our intelligence services and armed forces – will diminish,” Vulin stated.
He further explained that the European Union, which has lost its influence over the Ukrainian crisis and failed to establish itself as a decisive actor, is now searching for new avenues to affirm its relevance.
“The humiliated European Union, despite pouring billions into military intervention in Ukraine, has not gained the influence it hoped for. Instead, it now seeks opportunities to demonstrate to its citizens that it can resolve conflicts – particularly in Ukraine and even more so in Russia – and, more importantly, to incite public sentiment,” Vulin emphasized. He added that the EU is attempting to bolster its fragile position by targeting Russia’s allies. “The European Union is trying to weaken Russia by undermining Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, which remain true allies of Moscow. In doing so, it aims to drag NATO and the United States into a conflict with Russia, which, as history has shown, is expected to protect the Serbs,” Vulin concluded.
Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic remarked that recent protests in Serbia bear the unmistakable imprint of external influence, with their dynamics reminiscent of “color revolutions” seen in other countries. He pointed out that methods such as accusations of excessive police violence and provocations during street protests have been used during the Arab Spring and other similar upheavals – methods that, in fact, had already appeared in Serbia itself a quarter-century ago. Vucic emphasized that foreign forces seeking to destabilize Serbia are behind these actions, noting that such schemes are far from new in international politics.

Exactly. Europe is the enemy of both the US and Russia, and both country’s administrations get that. That’s why this is going so well. England has also been taken over by the European globalists, as has Canada. I suspect that freeing both is on the US/Russia/China agendas, so that should eventually get done as well. Then, Europe will be isolated and start to collapse, starting with Hungary and, maybe, Italy.
CNN is pushing the “security guarantee” hard.
.
They all are. I’m not into providing Ukraine with any “security guarantees” if they include U.S. military or money.
.
You mean “our money”?
It’s actually “our debt.” We don’t have any money.
“CIA is pushing the “security guarantee” hard.”
fixed it for you
Actually, the CIA and Obama’s Deep State cabal are instructing CNN to push the security guarantee hard.
I think Russia needs security guarantees if and when UKR-UK-EU-NATO breach the Peace Agreement like they breached the Minsk Agreement, which caused this war to begin with.
at this point i think they are fine. they have an army that knows how to fight, an armory that is effective, tactics that counter pretty much everything the aggressor throws at them, a meat grinder that has destroyed the NATO armory and its proxy cannon fodder, an independent economy, and a bunch of nukes.
let the eurotards wallow in their delusions of persecution and print money for their non-existent MIC all they want.
My comment is tongue-in-cheek, but the point should be made, regardless, to drive home that they can’t be trusted not to breach this Peace Agreement.
Agree!
Very special genius indeed!!!!!
Where does President Trump get the stamina and patience? He is one of a kind.
JMO.
The enemy’s “Catch – 22 traps” come in the “Democrat / RINO domestic version” as well as the EU / CIA, globalist’s, foreign version.
The world has just witnessed the most recent example of President Trump defeating the “EU / CIA, globalist’s, foreign catch-22 trap.”
The trap is that they make their rules (like requiring the cease fire agreement) to bounce the USA government back and forth between “cease fire violations”, FOREVER, ….. think of Korea ….. requiring massive, long term American military spending, deaths and injuries.
There is a universal way to not fall for their catch-22 traps:
….. you ignore their rules and
………. make your own rules and
…………… clear your own pathway
……………….. to where you want to end up.
……………………… then go.
President Trump just ignored their “catch-22 “ceasefire trap,” by making his own rules and going directly to a peace agreement.
There will be no negotiation for a ceasefire thus he “cleared his own pathway”, to where he wanted to go ….. immediate negotiations for a long-term peace agreement.
And then he just went …. the EU / CIA, globalist’s, foreign catch-22 trap rules “be-damned.”
That endeth the lesson, grasshopper.
________________________________
Background notes: President Trump, over the past 4 years, has perfected this method of defeating the enemy’s “catch-22 trap.” His first notable occurrence was when he didn’t concede the fraudulent 20-20 election.
President Trump has some good leaders like Tulsi, Pete over at the D of Defense, Marco at the D of State, etc who have learned the basic rules to avoid the trap and are running circles around the democrats / RINOs in the Executive Branch.
Bondi and patel are not only not avoiding the trap, they are, apparently, gleefully falling for it in 2025.
MAGA / America First isn’t just our motto, it is our duty!
Viewpoints provided by CTH and Coffee& Covid stacks are my go to sources. Not a fan of DOJ/FBI ops to date, but aware that PDJT used Tulsi’s ” document dump ” on Russia-gate intel and players was provided just prior to the summit for strategic purpose, and understand that there are Grand Jury Investigation in process dealing with the criminal intel process, so I am expecting that ” shoe ” to drop sometime in the future -strategically timed, of course !
Hoffmeister,
Thanks for the comment.
“expecting that ” shoe ” to drop sometime in the future -strategically timed, of course !”
“strategically timed, of course”?
An interesting, operational statement …… no mention of whose “strategy it will follow”
If it is MAGA / America First’s strategy, patriots would have expected some “charges, prosecutions and sentencing” occurring before day 209 …… because there appears to be a range of cases from slam-dunks to a little more difficult.
But, of all the cases that have been piled on bondi / patel desks in the past 209 days, there have been zero that have gone past the investigation / secret grand jury stage.
Now, if it is the “globalist / never-trumpster strategy”, it will follow the well know 2021 truism, “evidence goes to the DOJ / FBI to die” ……. never to see a courtroom in front of an honest jury.
In fact, many of Tulsi’s declassified documents, from prior years, fall into that category.
With the carryover obama / biden DOJ / FBI operatives never having been fired, they will continue to be able to cover up the evidence.
Just a suggestion, I wouldn’t hold your breath for that strategic time to arrive.
Have a great MAGA DAY!
Wonder if the deal will require Zelensky to hold elections too..
I imagine it more difficult to expect lasting peace accords with an expired government.
But President Trump is the dictator! /s
I hope Luhansk and Donetsk can become free and independent countries as their citizens voted to become before Biden made a mess of things. If they should lean East or West will not be our business.
Looks like Putin wants these two oblasts. The EU is going to have a fit!
My question is will Trump strike a development deal between the US and Russia with perhaps some crumbs for Ukraine.
.
What is with Clinton, and now Brennan, coming out with public statements that they would nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize “if he can end the bloody war in Ukraine without ceding land to Russia.”
.
Their “walls are closing in…”.
Ha! “Turnabout” is ….
Sundance says they will not be prosecuted so they are throwing a carrot to President Trump.
“What is with Clinton, and now Brennan, coming out with public statements that they would nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize ”
They are just penny-anti, democrat, treasonous grifters ——- they think that if they offer to nominate them for the peace prize, he won’t hang them from the highest tree for their treasonous crimes against our Constitutional Republic and President Trump.
As the old saying goes, they are just whistling past the graveyard.
They want pardons.
deep state shills gonna shill.
IMO the loss of land by ukraine is a foregone conclusion. those lands are no longer theirs, regardless of what other screaming and screeching is heard.
Because they know it can’t be done. ( without ceding land to Russia.)
.
EXACTLY! They establish the surprising carrot…then slip in that little trap door caveat, knowing it plays to the lib mongers and brain numb masses who only see a headline and say “well…that’s a reasonable view from her”.
.
Either working to sabotage any deal, or setting up for future election propaganda about how Trump snowed the public along then gave in to Putin and betrayed “our allies”.
.
Maybe they think that then it will go easy on them for their conspiracy.

Pox on both of them.
The “without ceding land to Russia” is their out. They will interpret Ukraine “losing” land to Russia in war, which is inevitable, as Trump (not Ukraine) “ceding” land to Russia. Their narrative-building process is seditious, but also obvious.
Look at the countries GDP’s and you’ll understand why they need this war and why capital is flowing here. (Markets up)

Please, let peace occur.
And soon after that is achieved, how about we get some boats out and about, near
some hot spots where the tides foundation is sending turds on inflatables en mass
into the western world?
Deny them war ( EU, Brits, CIA, NATO). Deny them migrants ( see prior list, add UN).
It would hurt my feelings if Trump and Putin didn’t have a little discussion about
each country sending out some boats to help prevent what has washed up with the Tides.
AI Overview
Despite ongoing complications, there’s a developing sense that a path to a potential resolution in the Russia-Ukraine conflict may be emerging, particularly following a long period of stalemate along the front lines.
Indicators of potential progress
Renewed US-Russia dialogue:
The recent summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, though not yielding a definitive peace deal, was described by both leaders as “productive” and “constructive,” suggesting a willingness to engage in discussions about the conflict.
Shifting focus to security guarantees:
Following the summit, President Trump shifted his focus from an immediate ceasefire to exploring a more comprehensive peace agreement, potentially including NATO-like security guarantees for Ukraine. This suggests a move toward addressing underlying issues crucial for long-term stability.
Negotiating positions:
Russia has indicated a readiness to discuss a comprehensive settlement, which puts pressure on Ukraine to reconsider its negotiating position.
Addressing the stalemate:
The acknowledgement of a prolonged stalemate along the front lines by both sides might create an environment conducive to seeking alternative solutions beyond military breakthroughs.
Meloni says Trump has backed Italy’s idea of security guarantees, ‘inspired by NATO’s Article 5’
A glimmer of hope finally opens for discussing peace in Ukraine. Italy is doing its part alongside its Western allies.
(Translated by X)
AI Overview
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has suggested extending Article 5 of the NATO treaty to Ukraine as a form of security guarantee, even if Ukraine doesn’t immediately become a full member state. This proposal aims to provide Ukraine with a level of security protection similar to NATO members, meaning an attack on Ukraine would be considered an attack on all participating nations, triggering a collective response.
Key points
Article 5 is the cornerstone of NATO’s collective defense, stating an attack on one member is considered an attack on all.
Meloni suggests this could be a “stable, lasting, effective security guarantee” for Ukraine, possibly more effective than other options, like peacekeeping forces.
This approach would differ from granting full NATO membership, which would require all 32 members to agree, notes the BBC.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has welcomed the idea as part of discussions on long-term security guarantees and is seeking further details from Italy.
The proposal may face challenges, particularly from the United States, according to Anadolu Ajansı.
.
Isn’t this one of the issues Putin had in the first place? This sounds like NATO by another name.
.
Yes it is but that was 3 1/2 years ago.
Since then this proxy war in Ukraine has effectively become a stalemate which has become expensive for all sides.
Expensive in both financial means and human lives …
What if the US, outside of NATO, offers security guarantees to BOTH Ukraine and the Russian Federation?
The US will come in on the side of whoever it determines is the aggressor.
How ’bout them apples?
if i were russia i would categorically REJECT that idea. the US is not a unified front with a unified strategy or philosophy anymore. so the determination of who is the “aggressor” would be entirely political and emotional and up to who had control of which deep state apparatus and the press. NONE of which is trustworthy.
Excellent point. We need to walk away from this, not get further involved.
No thanks!! WE want out of European entanglements!!
Indeed it is, and a ridiculous expectation. Russia will shoot it down.
Putin tells his top officials he explained “the reasons for the crisis” in Ukraine to Trump and stressed that “settling these root causes must be at the heart of any possible agreement.”
That essentially means a veto for Russia over European security and Ukraine’s statehood.
An NBC News commentator after the Putin-Trump News Conference yesterday said that we all know who started this war, Russia did when it invaded Ukraine.
Of course, that is not how Putin explained it when he was interviewed by Tucker Carlson. Putin said that Russia did not start a war, but entered a war that had been going on since 2014. After Russia obtained Ukrainian Army plans to invade Donetsk and eliminate the Ethnic Russian problem. it looked like a plan for genocide to Russia, so it entered the war to stop it. This is justified under the UN Charter, Putin said.
Evidence was presented to the UN to explain Russian actions in Ukraine. I did not see it covered in the US at all, except for here.
The Anchorage summit wasn’t a negotiation; it was a masterclass in narrative capture. Putin didn’t come for a treaty, he came for a microphone, and the White House was happy to provide the stage for his ‘root causes’ fiction.
The script was written months ago. The admin suspended military aid on March 4, took NATO membership “off the table” in February, and yesterday Trump suggested Ukraine cede territory. After 42 months of war, Putin gets a red-carpet welcome to legitimize the very invasion he started.
This isn’t foreign policy. It’s the managed demolition of an alliance, one concession at a time.
It’s a bot feeding our enemies talking points…notice the “automated” tag under its name. It has been very active over the last week.
Russian President Vladimir Putin:
And in the end, I would like to add one more thing.
I’d like to remind you that in 2022, during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried to convince my previous American colleague, it should not- the situation should not be brought to the point of no return, when it would come to hostilities and accept it quite directly back then, that is a big mistake.
Today, when President Trump is saying that if he was the president back then, there would be no war, and I’m quite sure that it would indeed be so. I can confirm that.
I think that overall, me and President Trump have built a very good business-like and trustworthy contact, and have every reason to believe that moving down this path, we can come and assume it better to the end of the conflict in Ukraine.
Thank you. Thank you.

Putin’s debrief, back in Moscow (http://kremlin.ru/events/president/news/77798). Grok translated the spoken word in the video to an English transcript – then compared it to the site’s text translated to English by google.
I think we can see the major point still to be resolved: how to “secure” the Ukr but “address the root cause” i.e. the Ukr in Nato. It sounds difficult, but there are those secondary tariffs waiting in the wings.
Perhaps there is just enough “flexibility” on Russia’s part? It will definitely require big league wheeling and dealing.
Putin back at the Kremlin:
Dear colleagues, good afternoon. I asked you to gather here to inform you about the results of our visit and the visits by our delegation to the United States, specifically to Alaska.
I would like to note that this was a timely and very useful visit. We discussed almost all aspects of our cooperation, but primarily, we focused on the possible resolution of the Ukraine crisis on a fair basis.
It was certainly an opportunity for us to discuss the root causes of this crisis, and that is why these primary causes should be addressed as part of any resolution. Yes, we have not conducted such talks directly at this level for a long time.
I repeat, it was an opportunity to calmly and in detail explain our position once again. Of course, we respect the American administration’s stance that sees the need to stop hostilities as soon as possible and also wants us to do so, aiming to resolve all issues through peaceful means.
Yes, the conversation was very frank, meaningful, and in my opinion, it brings us closer to the desired solution. I will now tell you about all aspects of our discussion.
If there are any questions, I will be happy to answer them.
I suggest that Ms Meloni stop batting her eye lashes & find a quiet place to pound sand.
Absolutely not. This is like giving the Eurocommie/Deep State criminals a back door to restart the war in the future, when Trump is no longer President. This is why they agreed to trash the ceasefire for a peace agreement. There can be no United States “guarantee” of anything that involves military support or military activity of any kind. And it’s laughable for them to expect an Article 5 guarantee to a non-NATO country.
We need to get completely out of this conflict without any further entanglements, either now or in the future. And we need to keep pushing as hard as possible for the U.S. to get out of NATO, the U.N., and all other “global” organizations.
Perhaps that “something we don’t know yet” pertains to Crimea? Just throwing that out there. A splitter of Crimea?
No way-more like we are going to take Odessa if we continue to fight.
The U.S. military is ALREADY scattered into WAAAAAAY too many countries across the world.
No American military in Ukraine. PERIOD.
What would these people do there, anyway but waste U.S. taxpayer money?
Would the U.S. military be stationed there to protect the thieves and grifters of a thoroughly corrupt Ukraine from the hangings they deserve?
No way !
they would be quickly and easily coopted by the deep state for their bidding.
thats what they would be doing there.
.
I was sick to my stomach when one of my boys went over to Germany at the start of this thing to do NATO “trainings”. Something bothered me more than any of my kids’ MidEast deployments.
.
The euroweenies should accept that they are mere toddlers compared to PDJT47 and just do whatever he says.
I like that picture of Trump and Putin with z-man in the corner.
It could be improved by putting z’s picture on the red carpet and these two men are sauntering over his image with their slow, power walk.
I said this once and I will say it again. The war with Russia is not just to break Russia, but, to break Russia and the US. In that way, Europe, England, and China would own the era after Russia and USA fatally destroyed themselves in their, that is, Europe’s and England’s, machination with the full support of our IC.
That is a valid possibility and the Ic must be brought to heel, that is, it must somehow be under the constitution. That legal discussion is very complex.
Poor baby – things didn’t go your way – TOO BAD. Newsflash – YOU are not the center of attention.
NATO will have to pay in Euros to continue the war. Better stop now before they lose Odessa.
So a “Peace Agreement” doesn’t require any “Security Guarantees” that either Russian, Ukraine, or “local militia” forces will not attack the other side, or build up for Round II? Putin has long sought a restructuring of the European Security Architecture writ large to make Russia a participant in mutual security rather than an adversary, keeping “the West” from threatening Russia and vice versa. This is what Putin has requested for years, and it is interesting if it’s finally on the table. But what would this look like in practical terms? Seems like there would be massive resistance in the West (Poland, the Baltic States, Finland, Lindsay Grahame…) and by Russian hardliners — both sides will be scared to risk change and incur political attacks for weakness and selling out.
French President Emmanuel Macron reportedly will not be able to attend any meetings next week because his wife Brigitte is having a vasectomy!
<chuckles>
This is great, but, the nasty PEE EWWW cabal and little Z are already sabotaging it. Here is the quote from the EU gang of thieves via the evil German leader Starmer:
”It will be up to Ukraine to make decisions on its territory. International borders must not be changed by force,” a statement signed by various leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“No limitations should be placed on Ukraine’s armed forces or on its cooperation with third countries. Russia cannot have a veto against Ukraine‘s pathway to EU and NATO.”
Of course little Z is parroting this crap, talking about his conditions on social media posts, well ahead of any actual discussions.
Trump gets them on phone calls, lays down the hard lumber, and they give him polite non-answers that don’t piss him off during the call, Then they confab, conjure and scheme in their own circle, ultimately releasing a diatribe of demands like the above.
President Trump needs to get them on their knees, well before the next Russian meeting, and really lay the reality rod upside their heads. The time to play some of our BIG CARDS is before that negotiation. Little Z must be brought to HEEL, and it’s time to kick the EU globalists and 3 letters in their gonads. NO MORE SUPPORT for these pathetic leftists and their schemes President Trump!
“International borders must not be changed by force,”
they weren’t. the oblasts voted on it.
and i’d still like to see a bunch of US states do the same.
Shucks, I’m still trying to figure out if there is a single country that has not had its borders “changed by force” through the course of its history.
President Trump cuts the Gordian knot
One strand in the Gordian Knot.
Challenges to Ending the War Without Acceding to Russia’s Conditions
1. Russia’s Battlefield Advantage: Russia controls roughly 20% of Ukrainian territory and has made slow but costly gains. Putin believes he is winning and may see no urgency to negotiate unless faced with significant new pressure. His rejection of a 30-day ceasefire proposed by the U.S. and Ukraine indicates resistance to compromise without major concessions.
2. Mutual Mistrust: Both Russia and Ukraine distrust Western assurances due to past failures (e.g., Budapest Memorandum, Minsk agreements). Ukraine is unlikely to accept a deal without ironclad security guarantees, while Russia may doubt U.S. commitments to lift sanctions.
3. Domestic and International Constraints: Trump’s “America First” agenda and desire for quick results (e.g., within 100 days) may limit his willingness to sustain long-term pressure on Russia. His strained relations with European allies reduce the West’s collective leverage.
4. Moral and Strategic Risks: Ceding to Russia’s demands risks legitimizing aggression and undermining international law, which could embolden other authoritarian regimes. Trump’s equivocation on moral issues, such as blaming Ukraine for provoking the war, weakens his credibility as a neutral arbiter. [However, Trump later reversed his stance on who was responsible for the war. – W]
“in exchange for something we do not yet know.”
Maybe in return for not losing his country altogether.
And maybe Europe can spend much less on NATO and redirect much of that 5% into their own economic development. But as Trump revealed he admitted to Putin, and as you reported, he cannot deliver all this until more of the Russia Russia crowd have been discredited on the narrative level and also are out of positions of influence. More work needed but US is operating in Trump Time so things may look quite different in only a month or two.
I get the feeling that Zelensky will be in Washington for a listen, not a talk.
He NEVER listens. That word”listen” is not in his vocabulary.
There is a Cease Fire … that is what Friday was all about. I suspect the Presidents Trump and Putin established a Cease Fire Framework that will hopefully be finalized on Monday when the EU meets the President.
Decoupling CEASE FIRE and PEACE NEGOTIATIONS was the key to the whole process POSSIBLY moving on to PEACE TALKS.
The outwitting of the EU Part occurred a few days ago when the EU and Z-Man ACCEPTED the Terms of the “leaked” Framework for the Friday meeting … that decoupled Territorial Discussions from Cease Fire discussions … the CEASE FIRE part would put everything (to include Ukraine Security assurances) back to a 2014 Start Point (with borders shifted further WEST).
Now the crucial territory and future Ukrainian security discussions can move ahead. ALL the other stuff is window dressing. If the Ukrainian People and Government are dumb enough to keep Z-Man in power that is their problem to work out.
Would not be surprising if Russia accepts NATO membership of Ukraine in return for the new borders patrolled by a UN managed force … Ex-President Merkel said it best when she stated “the Minsk Agreements were just to buy time in order to arm the Ukraine”.
Thus anything the Ukraine, NATO and EU sign is not worth the paper it is printed upon … unless the new Territorial Boundaries are accepted with some sort of buffer agreement because EU-NATO will continue the effort to expand after the document is signed.
The acceptance of territorial loss would be a major strategic loss in terms of physical looses and being a major PR loss as well … because Russia keeping gains = ACKNOWLEDGED Russian ownership and admission that Ukraine and NATO lost the proxy war. Any new war efforts started by the Ukraine (as a NATO member) and EU-NATO bosses would be a highly problematic political problem for the EU … since EU-NATO signed the document giving territory to Russia and a member NATO state (Ukraine) cannot unilaterally start a conflict to regain it … and claim NATO has to support them. Plus, a UN trip wire is in place that another level of political problems to restart the war.
Peace and Safety
I still don’t see a way to a peace agreement unless Putin abandons his primary goals. Zelenskyy and company are going to balk at whatever peace is offered. Trump still gets to walk away triumphant. He got them to the table and it’s up to Ukraine and Europe. Hopefully I’m wrong about this.
Let me pretend that I can predict the future: Zelensky and Europe reject the deal, and we walk away.
Russia keeps doing what they do so well.
Zelensky is given the opportunity to be a legitimate president of a rump Ukraine if he commits to no NATO, no rearmament, an end to persecuting the Orthodox Church and the Russians remaining in what’s left of Ukraine, and a return to a constitutional system.
Both Russia and the US make significant investments in Ukraine and agree to work with Zelensky in a resurrected leadership role, assuming the Ukrainians will put up with that in the interest of ending the war.
Alternatively, Z-man can stick with the team he’s been playing for all along and, once the war ends, go somewhere in Europe so he can spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder, waiting for the Russians or someone else to kill him.
This offer that he cannot refuse brings him over the the US/Russia side and away from Europe and the DS, who now own him.
i agree this is the trendline.
that said, we have to backstop our re-involvement anyway. if we walk, an impotent europe will almost certainly end up doing something really stupid that causes russia to respond directly to that nation. which then causes a demand for NATO involvement.
unless we walk from NATO, europe knows that it can force us back into the game.
I am not in favor of rewarding Z-midget with anything. He is a non-entity. His own people despise him. The only people who support him are the Eurocommies and the Uniparty. The just end-result for the midget is a drone through the forehead, and even that is probably too expensive. The only person in this entire conflict who holds any meaningful cards is Putin. I say let Putin do as he will, and if that includes the elimination of the midget, so much the better.
Hope a whole lot of people are reigning the various three letter franchises in, cutting off assets and jerking operational licenses.
Anyone caught coloring outside the lines should understand their fate.
Hope he tells Zelenskyy our monetary and weapons support ends today. So you need to get the peace deal done. The US has ended its part in the war. Once the peace deal is signed we will help Ukraine again but there has to be an election
What will the selenskyy munchkin do?
He will be thinking about himself and what he can get out of it.
My question is: Does the EU and NATO have their little Napoleon NAZI, under their thumbs enough to make him understand that he goes along, cooperates fully and gets his fingers out of the pie or he gets nothing?
He seems to be the real fly in the ointment.
President Trump sits his punk ass down, explains to him the following:
The war ends, Ukraine holds real elections and little Napoleon does not pass GO, doesn’t collect $200 and avoids a long jail term for all of the corruption he’s engaged in.
Sounds like a plan we can go with.
I put the headline here into a search on Brave and the only results were, as usual, the fake media reports despite putting this in word for word.
These search engines won’t even recognize CTH. Their loss because their low information types won’t know the real score here.
Switch Brave’s default browser to Bing.
I did exactly what you described and The Last Refuge was the first result.
I’ve never had trouble with Bing, and have been using it for almost six years now, exclusively. Say what you will about Microsoft, at least their search engine works.
Brave has an independent search with pages indexed primarily through the Web Discovery Project (WDP). This project allows users who opt-in to contribute anonymous browsing data, including search queries, clicks on search results, visited URLs, and page metadata, to help build and refine the index. Opt in to WDP under the Brave Search Engine settings.
Google currently does not censor this site and its search bots add new CTH pages very quickly. Under Biden, it was a very different story.
Startpage search engine brings up links to both this article and Sundance’s twitter/x site
it bills itself as the world’s most private search engine – no cookies for tracking or for ads that cookies would bring up.

Worked fine for me using Brave and it was the first result.
It will be entertaining to watch the coalition of the willing (to start WWIII) twist themselves into knots trying to take credit for the peace Trump and Putin will achieve.
Isn’t that the same thing he did with Israel and Iran…..he annoounced a cease fire and no one wanted to admit they didn’t like the imposition of one by a third party?
Wear a suit this time, Bozo!
Stop the war President Trump. Tell Zelensky publicly….No More US Weapons, No More US Aid….NONE. If you and Europe insist on continuing the war, that’s on you. We choose peace. We are done. Trump was frickin elected to do such that. Enough
Bannon: Zelensky shows up with endless demands. Europe won’t pay. Larry Fink and party of Davos want U.S. taxpayers on the hook for a trillion dollars. With Article 5 style guarantees and Uncle Sugar backing him up financially and militarily, this is a no win trap for America.
