The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) releases the July inflation data today [RELEASE HERE]. Overall, inflation remains low and stable with a July outcome of 0.2 percent, 2.7 percent year over year.
The prices for highly consumable goods like food at home are declining, meanwhile the prices of long-term durable goods is ticking up. Put another way, the prices of the stuff we export are lower, the prices of the imported durable goods are a little higher. Put them together and the aggregate inflation is stable. WATCH:
.
We should anticipate these similar economic outcomes as the baseline tariffs and reciprocal tariff rates begin solidifying. The largest portion of the tariff rates will be absorbed by the producers, the pass-through rate will be far less.
Additionally, highly consumable goods like food and energy products should remain stable with downward price pressure as the cost of production drops.

Declining food and gas must be regional. Neither have gone down in Oregon.
I can’t wait for sub $2 in AL again!!!
I paid $2.46 at Buc-ee’s. Last week.
$2.49 – 2.59 in NW Louisiana (but not Shreveport).
Same for my location in Texas.
Also in Texas…same.
Hi Betsy, same here in my part of God’s country. Eggs are down as is gas but everything else is still too high, my opinion. Not sure how families with children are doing it. I guess you adapt. Its just the two of us now and we have a nice garden but still it is shocking most trips to the grocery store. I am ready for lower prices for sure.
Also in TX. Here’s the historical price chart.
https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=EMM_EPMRR_PTE_Y44HO_DPG&f=W
Prices in April through July were $3/gallon, whereas today 87 octane is around 2.50. Here’s the local gas prices by gas station. The further from the highway you get, it gets as low as $2.20!
https://www.getupside.com/locations/tx/sugar-land/
In Texas, last weeks groceries. 18 eggs on sale for $2.79. Gallon of milk is $3.18. Gas is $2.65. 93% ground beef occasionally on sale for $3.99. Beef prices have been crazy for years.
visiting McKinney Tx last week and milk was 2.29 for a gallon of whole and gas was 2.55 gallon
It is regional. Oregon and Washington pride themselves for having such higher gasoline prices.
Consumer defensive spending took hold long ago. People are not buying certain things as they become too expensive to justify.
100%…meat here in British Columbia is insanely expensive.
Right next door is Alberta where cattle ranching is quite common.
Pork and Chicken are a fraction of the cost.
Goodness me fresh ( not frozen Sockeye salmon) is half the cost.
“Junk food” Chips, Nacho type garbage is stupidly expensive.
Cheers!
Oregon state gasoline tax $0.40/gallon plus whatever a local city tacks on. Washington $0.554/gallon plus climate tax of $0.274/gallon plus 2% annual increase.
And in Washington most of the new highways are going to be tolled.
Not a place I would choose to live. Socialists.
You could come to Honolulu. The fuel tax (state+fed) is $0.534 per gallon, but there is also the sales tax which adds another $0.16 so let’s say 69 cents. That makes the “fuel” price here about $3.00 (pump price $3.65+/-)
Also I believe Oregon is full-serve only at the pump.
I don’t mean to piss in your Cheerios, but you live in Oregon. I live in CT. Neither of us lives in a state that will see benefits because our local politicians are all communists due to gerrymandering.
Oh, by the way, it’s funny, the Dems are going to protest Texas, across the nation for redistricting…meanwhile, many states that have done it in the last ten years, all in favor of Dems- CT, MA, IL, IN, CA, NJ, NY, VT, RI, ME, OR, to name a few.
Not here on Long Island either. Eggs did, but that’s it.
Truth!
here in North Florida, gasoline was $1.68 per gallon under TRUMP in October 2020 a few days before the Democrats / Deep State stole the election.
the price of gasoline skyrocked during the Biden Insurrection Years that followed.
now that Trump is back in office, THE PRICE OF GASOLINE HERE IN NORTH FLORIDA IS STILL CORRUPTED.
CORRUPTED NOT BY THE DEMS, BUT BY MONOPOLISTIC CORPORATE GREED.
as an example:
for all intents and purposes, the STANDARD PRICE OF GASOLINE HERE AT THE MOMENT IS $2.68 PER GALLON AT SAMS CLUB AND COSTCO.
$2.68 is the REAL TRUMP PRICE.
however the “regular corporate stations” : GATE, RACEWAY, RACETRACK, MOBIL, SHELL, etc, all are colluding with each other in a supposedly “COMPETITIVE – MARKET – ECONOMY” nature,
that is, in reality,
A MONOPOLISTIC CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY TO ARTIFICIALLY KEEP GASOLINE PRICES AT THEIR HIGHER “BIDEN LEVELS.”
what they do is this:
THESE STATIONS APPEAR TO BE ARTIFICIALLY COLLUDING WITH EACH OTHER TO KEEP THE PRICE OF GASOLINE AT $3.19 PER GALLON FOR 2 WEEKS OUT OF EVERY MONTH.
they start with the price of $3.19, and drop it a few cents per day for 2 weeks.
after 2 weeks, when the price reaches down to the $2.70 to $2.80 range, THEY JACK THE PRICE BACK UP TO $3.19 AGAIN.
and then proceed to do the same thing all over again.
within hours of the first corporation reverting back to $3.19, ALL OF THE OTHERS QUICKLY FOLLOW.
THIS MORNING THE PRICE HAD DROPPED TO $2.88.
AT NOON, RACEWAY CHANGED BACK TO $3.19, AND ALL OF THE OTHERS FOLLOWED.
so,
on average,
these corporations are charging about 49 cents per gallon HIGHER THAN SAMS CLUB AND COSTCO EVERY MONTH.
they have been doing this since approximately November of last year.
in conclusion.
in my view.
Trump has lowered the price of gasoline by 49 cents per gallon since he regained office,
and
corporate greed appears to be using monopolistic collusion to steal half of the savings from THE PEOPLE.
Florida should look at further regulating GASOLINE PRICE INCREASES to stop this theft.
Ty! I thought I was stuck in some Matrix glitch! (SW FL):
Weekly, I watch gas drop to around $2.89-2.98… then every-time I actually need gas- it’s jumped to $3.19 give or take! 🤣 I thought it was just me!
Minnesota is still 3.19 never drops below 3.09
San Diego is $4.89 at Shell down in the past week from $5.39 at least until the next…
Bombing in the ME
Sanctions on Russia
Sanctions on India
Yes, but you get all those environmental additives so your gas is so much better! Plus those worthless fill hoses (though I admit they have gotten better over the years).
Thanks for that insight!
ps: if you drive from Jacksonville 20 minutes north and cross into Georgia, the price of gasoline has dropped as low as $2.54 at Parkers Stations.
Same here south of Western NY. Heard it straight from the non native gas attendant at the Indian Rez. If I chose to drive another 1/2 hour south I could save almost .80 a gallon. Unfortunately my tank doesn’t hold enough to make it worth the 2hr round trip.
Allow me to direct you to the web site Gas Buddy for an explanation of the price fluctuations at the regional level. They tell it straight.
Gas Buddy is bs…
it is run by the Corporations that it professes to review.
I’ve noticed the EXACT same thing in South Florida!
$2.89 to $3.19 every couple of weeks.
Disgusting, isn’t it!? 😡
Same in WA.
Our putrid governor just upped our gas sales tax by 6 cents a gallon.
We have to pay that carbon tax…don’t you know.
A dozen regular eggs are $6.69.
Everything that goes on a store shelf has to be delivered by a vehicle using gas or diesel.
That being said, I would never advocate for EV’s. They are a scourge on humanity.
If I didn’t love the climate, I’d be out of here.
“If I didn’t love the climate, I’d be out of here.“
You are paying for that too.
That’s the problem. Many people can’t up and leave. If was my decision alone I’d be up and gone. Just too many factors keeping us tethered to the place we call home.
Well, that’s why they like to quote a number “minus food and energy”. But even then, the number is for “urban working consumers” so if that’s not you, take the number as an indicator.
That’s the saddest part. Gas has come down but not enough to make a difference. Still living paycheck to paycheck in NY and if I didn’t have a garden and homegrown beef, we wouldn’t be eating much of anything. By 2017, we were doing great and had money to spare. After Covid and Biden we were destroyed and expecting relief in 2025. Trump said by fall but the waiting is certainly depressing and I think certain States and Conglomerates that gained total control under Covid are purposely taking advantage of us! Investigations are in order!
Nor Washington State
This is a nice exchange between Moreno (R) – OH and Powell you’ll never see from the MSM — I love the chart at the end showing car prices have gone down!!
Inflation in tariff impacted industries has not happened.
Inflation in services (healthcare, insurance, housing costs, etc.) has been ratcheting up for several mos.
Our health insurance skyrocketed from 2021 to this year. Went from $150 to $200 our cost to just over $900/month now. Next year I’ll be able to switch to a plan that’s just over $100 thanks to PORAC.
“Inflation in tariff impacted industries has not happened.”
Sure, they only went into effect last week. We see from GDP reports that imports were pulled forward in anticipation so consumer stock now is all imported pre-tariff.
US Deficit Explodes In July Despite Jump In Tariff Revenue As Government Spending Soars…
U.S. deficit grows to $291 billion in July despite tariff revenue surge.

Zzzzz…
Read an indepth review of the data this morning.
What struck me was that for the first time they admitted that many democrat run liberal cities are no longer reporting data to DC at all,
and
That they acknowledge that they are “substituting” data on “alternative” subject matter products and services as a replacement for the data they are being denied.
So, what they are reporting is “apples and oranges” in comparison to what was reported in earlier years.
The Democrats have regularly made such “substitutions” in regard to the CPI-W too.
Probably could’ve told you a lot of that government data was faked for years just by personal observations.
The admissions however, are a more interesting data point to me.
We’ve likely reached that point where all the organisations taken over by leftists have finally unburdened themselves of the last vestiges of societal trust.
The lib blue states and cities have unburdened themselves from truth and reality.
Pay no more attention to a fool’s words than a jackass’s bray.
Jerome Powell’s job just got a whole lot easier as inflation data sidesteps disaster

Haven’t seen prices go down but my ability to eat better has. Pretty soon I’ll be going back to popcorn as a stable food source.
The overwhelming majority of complaints that I come across are about grocery prices and I can see why because except for egg’s grocery prices remain ridiculously high .
If we can manage to get that more under control it would be a huge plus for the midterms .
Egg prices have nothing to do with inflation; that’s all bird-flu related. But I use the “93% ground beef” index. Was in the $3.70-$4.00 range a couple years ago where I shop. Now it’s like $5.50. At Safeway $7.00 is considered “on sale”.
Safeway used to have these “smokin’ hot sale” on NY Strip Steak $6.99 for a 3-pack. Now hardly get that sale and I think last time was $8.99 or $9.99. I don’t even know what beef tastes like any more. They advertise “chuck steak” like it’s some big deal.
So it’s a lot of pork shoulder for “pulled pork”. Maybe some chicken.
My Doc said my B-12 was low. Wanted to know if I was vegan. Nope, just beef sticker shock. They probably want us to eat tofu.
Due to costs and regulations, the US beef herd is the smallest it has been since 1950. I blame it mostly on the climate crazies desire to eliminate beef consumption because of methane. Hopefully that is being rectified. Whereas the chicken population can be ramped up quickly, it takes years to bring back the cattle. Deflation is the only thing that will bring down beef prices in the near term.
Chuck steak and brisket used to be cheap. Now they charge ridiculous prices for inferior cuts of beef.
Incidentally, when Nixon instituted wage and price controls in 1971 to fight inflation, he cited ground round at over a dollar a pound
Growing up our Sunday dinners consisted of rump roast which was cheap. Now the price of it has me shaking my head.
It takes around 6 months for a female hatchling to be mature enough to start laying eggs. I am sure that it takes a few years for a calf to reach a weight/size that it can be sold to a slaughterhouse. I think there was also a health issue that was affecting U.S. cattle herds recently, it wasn’t screwworm.
The worst part is it’s mostly imported and not marked. No one knows what’s really in store bought beef anymore. We raise fresh unvaccinated grass fed beef which should be $20lb or more across the board compared to store bought meat but because a lot of the cow is hamburger we only ask 9.99. We’re actually taking a major loss but my hubby doesn’t see it that way because we get beef for ourselves at butcher cost. Homesteaders don’t get a break in NY at all. Taxes are based on a federal map from 1980 that says 2 acres of pasture land even though we’ve increased it to 20. Absolutely no tax break on County taxes because the federal government has not come back in 45 years to factor in the change. Everything we buy from local farmers is cash so writing off a loss is impossible.
I literally just paid $5.99 for a dozen eggs about an hour ago, and $3.99 for a half-gallon of milk. Total bill = $9.98 for milk and eggs only. Declining prices, MY FOOT.
Milk in NC is 2.58 per gallon and eggs are $2.75 per dozen. Summer vegies are trending down in price. Peaches, Pairs and Nectarines are selling for 1.25 per pound. I paid $2.45 per gallon of gas today.
Just paid $5.28 for 18 extra large eggs ($3.52 a doz.) at Publix in Tampa. Probably cheaper at Wal-Mart. That was almost $11 not too long ago.
Eggs in SW Missouri has been less than 3 bucks for a couple of months now. I pay 3.81 for a Gallon of milk
Eggs are back up in San Diego at $5.99 in Ralph’s.
California is no longer on our list of S/W U.S States to visit.
Gasoline and Groceries ( with very few exceptions) are considerably more expensive in California than here in our socialist British Columbia.
Cheers!
Shines a very bright light on a problem child the USA has….Californistan.
It never reigns in California is ironic, know?
In CT the price for a dozen eggs when Biden left office was $9.49. Today it’s $4.49. Big reduction.
Eggs way down in Georgia, but bacon is insane! Particularly at Publix. 9 bucks.
What state do you reside in?
Haha jokes on you Sundance. Energy spiraling upwards in just about every Dem controlled state. NY, CA, NJ, MD to name a few. Like Powell at the Fed the Dems are divebombing in Energy area as much as possible. Shutting down in state power so their benefactors can resale from somewhere else…
They shut down nuclear power, coal, and hydro, and substitute w intermittent wind and solar.
Reminds me that The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative is all in on the carbon credit trading in the northeast.
Impoverishing the majority with expensive energy is as much the plan as is centralizing control with the electrification of everything.
Exactly! We had to buy a new firewood stove and they have to list the wood stoves as clean coal. My daughter’s furnace went, she works full time and has 5 kids. They went without heat several times this winter or had to run electric heaters. It’s a natural gas water boiler that is shot and can’t afford a new one. She applied for a grant in NY to replace it, her choices are electric or thermo dynamic. She owes the electric company over $5000 already due to electric heaters and the new smart meter. I found her a slightly used water boiler replacement for free. Now she just has to find someone to install it. It’s nuts and the worse part is NY made a deal with Canada to supply our electric. Theirs is water fueled power while we continue to destroy property with solar panels and windmills that don’t supply any energy. I can see the barren dead monstrosities wasting away in 10years. Leaking into our water supplies.
Exactly and there still putting up useless windmills. I haven’t noticed anymore solar panels but they leased a ton of property and put them in everywhere under Biden! The only factory left in our rural county is working hard on windmill parts for NYs ocean. Time to take corrupt Hochul down! I know why Trump avoids this state like the plague but nothing is changing price wise here. Whatever relief we do get insurance and electricity double!
Great news.
Going by the comments the majority are still seeing higher prices on most things. From what I have heard in recent months insurance has skyrocketed. Homeowners, auto, health are all up. Services are way up. The cost of hiring a plumber or electrician or HVAC is very high. Automotive repairs and maintenance are high.
Private equity is moving in on the trades, buying out everything from rapid oil change to mom-and-pop electricians and plumbing companies.
They are laying the groundwork for life by monthly subscription.
I think it’s safe to say that BLS will always report low inflation from here on out.
PDJT’s nominee as the new director of the BLS, E.J. Antoni, is a no – nonsense man.
The propaganda machine has the libs/center convinced that tariffs = higher prices for everything.
People have to have their own ephipiny, you can smack them over the head with facts but until Toto pulls the curtain back and the great and powerful is seen to be a woebegone huckster……..they will chew their cud and spew green from their neither ends.
“They’re PROUD to Boycott Us”—U.S. Ambassador SHREDS Canada’s Anti-Trump Politicians
US Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra joins us for an exclusive interview. From the harmful “Elbows Up” rhetoric… to the reality of the situation Canada is in due to Trump’s Tariffs (and our own lack of diplomacy and plans in dealing with them). We discuss what the Carney Liberal government has gotten wrong, and why Canadians may want to reconsider their boycotts.

Unexpectedly!
I keep telling people concerned that you don’t overturn Globalism overnight–that Trump’s Jacksonian Tariffs strategy is a long-game plan with multiple, America First benefits that will manifest in time. The key is time–give it time. It’s also the risk should a Democrat (or certain Republicans) get back in the White House in 2028 and scrap everything. I don’t fear that happening provided Trump is on top of getting Blue/Purple State systemic election fraud eradicated. (If he doesn’t light a fire under the arse of the appropriate people to address that, then it’s shame on him.)
A good can of indoor latex paint is now over $50 a gallon at Lowes or HD.
Try to get anyone to come out on minor plumbing jobs, & it starts at over $300 for the work. Electrical also?
Have someone replace/install a hot water tank… Over $2500?
Install laminate in a room. Over $900 for the cheaper stuff?
Upgrades are painful, even with resale prices jumping.
But housing prices remain at 50% higher than 4 years ago.
Major downward push on the lower majority renters.
Some see a hidden hand “nudging” toward neo-feudalism, as part of the “managed decline” of the US.
With the Controllers continuing to close the surveillance and control vise started by this:

The Big Picture, as some tout “moderating inflation”?
A fine analysis. Thanks!
If we look at just the 6 monthly CPI figures since PT began his 2nd presidency (February through July) we have .9% inflation for 6 months and if that holds stable for the next 6 months the 12 month (year over year) CPI inflation rate would only be 1.8%.
Hmmm…the exact same groceries I buy have gone up roughly 30 percent over the last year. Some items such as eggs have come down in price, but many others have gone up drastically. Gas has not gone down at all here. Energy rates have gone up rather dramatically, as well as insurance. Oil for my two vehicles has gone up 25 percent along with filters. I priced tires for my car two months ago and the exact same tires are up 20 percent, as are brake pads. Wages are not keeping pace with inflation…not even close.
Please, Laura Loomer, don’t do a background check on Mr. Antoni.😩
Has any economist ever hit the “bullseye”? It’s always “failed to meet expectations”, or “exceeded expectations”, yet these pinheads are held in such high esteem as being the smartest SOBs in any room they are in. Just like weather forecasters, a fifty percent accuracy rating is considered acceptable, I guess.
Economics is referred to as “the dismal science” for a reason.
I just had a guy come over to estimate putting up a Sunsetter shade system on my deck….”if you don’t order by the end of the month prices are going up due to the Tariffs”
I guess he is required to say this ….🤣🤣🤣
Gonna wait until Spring….
MAGA!!
