President Trump and the White House posted the following message to begin “Liberation Day.”
President Donald Trump is scheduled to end the U.S Marshal Plan for Europe, eliminating one-way tariffs eighty years after the Marshal Plan began. President Trump is now planning to institute global reciprocal tariffs, by matching all tariff and non-tariff trade barriers and restrictions. WATCH:

President Trump live now
Thanks I love RSBN
Promises made….
Promises kept.
🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Good afternoon Betsy. Yes he made promises and he kept those promises. Thank you President Trump for caring about America and her people.
With the help of Almighty God, Pat.
The dear darling! I mean that with the utmost respect. Does he have any idea how many of us say a prayer for him whenever he appears on the tv in front of us and of course at other times. He works to get great things done every day!
During his first term, I think the doves up on top of the chimney could hear us down in the living room, singing his praises whenever something came up in the news. The fireplace is next to the tv. Mom’s chair is nearby, perpendicular to the fireplace. I was often standing there by the fireplace saying, “I love Trump” right after we heard about something and I declare, those doves one afternoon started with their particular cooing and it sounded like they were saying “I LOVE Trump – I Love Trump – I LOVE Trump”.
Ha! If you don’t like President Trump, you may assume I am barmy or cuckoo for coco puffs. I get it. But if you don’t like President Trump, you probably aren’t reading these comments – or maybe you are, because you just haven’t quite figured it out yet and have come to the Treehouse to see if you can find out anything. It is just that he works so darn hard to fulfill his promises and it is remarkable to witness. He is not your typical politician or officeholder. He has a big heart. God bless you and stick around to find out more!
Beautiful, suejeanne…
I don’t know if he knows, sis. I believe through the extraordinary gifts he has been given that he is thinking of all he wishes to accomplish and understands his time is limited; so his energies are devoted completely to fulfilling what he has promised.
He has made a honourable man’s pledge, something I wish those likewise elected to office would emulate.
But I am certain that while he may not know, our Lord of all life hears each every one uttered by a grateful people who have petitioned Him for President Trump’s safety and well being….
And for the redemption of our Republic.
Lord above continue, we beseech Thee, to continue to hear our heartfelt prayers.
Thank you, Betsy!
I love your post!
Bless, girl 😘
I get it.
Cannot count the times I have heard through my excellent sources (like CTH) about something he said or did, and been sent into a happy laugh, followed by an automatic exclamation to my kitchen and cats of “I just love this guy!”
🐈⬛🐈⬛ Cat Lady for Trump 🐈⬛🐈⬛
Thank you, Steph – Cat Lady for Trump!

There’s a lot of malarkey from the left coast of California on this thread today. Here are the facts:
It will take time for auto production to ramp up domestically. Will it be 3-5 years? Probably not, but we will see. Will new car prices increase temporarily? Yes. Will it matter? No.
Energy prices will decrease dramatically during the next six months as a result of President Trump’s energy policies. Everything we buy is influenced by energy costs, therefore, everything else-besides new cars-will be cheaper.
At the same time all of that is happening, millions of middle class and lower class individuals will see good full time jobs coming back to America.
Unemployment and underemployment will both shrink to historic lows. Most Americans will have more money in their pockets and will be happier with their lives. They will spend and save at a greater pace than during Bidenomics and will be very grateful to President Trump.
As for the auto industry, new cars will temporarily cost more, but Americans will have more money to spend. I think that, here in America under the greatest President of all time, many people will be surprised by just how temporary the higher car prices will be.
If certain people from California LaLa Land want to get their panties in a bunch over ridiculously false predictions, that’s ok with me. Just don’t expect the rest of us to take you seriously.
By the way, after any temporary discomfort in the economy is over, America’s auto industry will be poised to reach heights never before seen in the history of the automobile.
Thank you President Trump!!
I wonder what a Tesla Model M will look like?
I’d rather have a beautifully built gas-powered small-to-medium car from Tesla.
Sort of like my Honda Civic but far better, I’m sure.
Right now everybody wants to buy my used 2014 Civic.
“…here in America under the greatest President of all time…”
It’s a wonderful thing to ponder, how we are so blessed to be under under the best, after having just lived through being under the worst.
Biden was the worst for sure and now all those people who enabled and covered for him are writing tell all books about it. I think they should be criminally charged for what was done to this country.
If President Milei in Argentina managed so much in his first year, why would President Trump who has some very competent people working in his team not see similar results in his first year?
President Milei is not having to swim upstream against a RINO and Democrat Congress (and a host of crooked judges)
^^^THIS^^^
The problem is, Americans are used to immediate gratification.
Then perhaps we will begin to remember patience.
I won’t buy American cars unless they are worth it
Detroit made some awful cars
Toyota all the way. I loved my Ford station wagon but it was constantly falling apart/not working
I have a 2012 VW Passat Diesel.
(Used car)
Had it since 2020.
It has 90,000 miles.
Gets 48 mpg highway.
I’m going to keep it forever.
Friend of mine had a 2001 Jetta diesel. Had it till last year.
Would love seeing more diesels made.
(Who knows? With DJT, all (economic) things are possible!)
Unbeknownst to me, Toyota Camrys had an original paint manufacturing defect causing paint to come off in sheets as far back as the 2008 models. There was a warranty notice put out a couple years ago I never heard about (my car is a 2014 and with address changes and all). That program ended in late 2023 for me, and my paint didn’t start peeling until the last few months.
Was advised by a dealer to see if they would cover the repaint since it is one owner with only 92,000 miles over 12 years as an “exception.” Nope, too bad, so sad.
Three in my family were looking to buy Camrys in the next few months. WERE. An original defect like this ought to be covered for an original owner. Killed my trade-in value. No more Toyotas for us, so 3 sales lost.
Macco will repaint for 1100$. I’ve done 30 plus Camry, Hondas. Go repaint your car, you cannot trade up to a better car for 1100$. Stop being a nudge.
It will be very expensive to buy foreign cars. Good luck.
Toyota is more American-made than Chevrolet, Ford, or Chrysler-Dodge.
Toyota is the true story of what tariffs will do.
I’m old enough to remember when everyone started buying Japanese cars because American cars were crap. I wish President Trump would exempt Japanese cars from the tariffs. I bought my latest one in 2023 after a flaky liberal woman who was on her phone ran a red light, hitting me head on, and totaled my car. Because my car was rated one of the top ten safest cars on the road, I walked away with just minor injuries. Until American car companies can match these standards, (which I doubt they ever will thanks to the unions which protect incompetence), these foreign auto tariffs penalize Americans who simply want a safe, reliable car to drive in our car-dependent culture.
Otherwise I’m happy with the tariffs, as I believe they will bring jobs back to America.
All true, Bruce.
My concern is the sheer number of people-men for sure- who won’t care if jobs materialize. They don’t want to work! They’ve been indoctrinated to the Obiden years of handouts and other maneuvers designed to destroy our society.
I’m praying that there will be a revitalization of work ethic and personal responsibility under a new president.
The men and women who want to work will do so. The rest can sit around and finally decide to get off of their rear ends and go get a good paying job in American manufacturing.
Imagine the motivation to go to work if PDJT get No Income Tax on Less Than $150,000.

He’s showing the “Reciprocal Tariffs” chart. He could sell posters of that so it could be well advertised.
That is an excellent idea.
However the numbers are changing rapidly, Vietnam and Israel have dropped tariffs and India has reduced them. So the posters will need an “edit” key.
Walmart sells clothing made in Vietnam and Blair does as well. Very well constructed with quality material.
Good to know…Vietnam acted fast and obviously is a player in the game of US trade policies.

PRESIDENT TRUMP fighting with THE AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY SPIRIT TODAY against an UNFAIR FOREIGN ECONOMIC ADVANTAGE is on display the same spirit which spark in 1773 THE BOSTON TEA PARTY EVENT which was one of the key events in the lead up to THE AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR and, ultimately, AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE by creating AMERICAN WEALTH = GOLDEN AGE therefore understand THE SPIRIT between RECIPROCAL TARIFFS and what happen in 1773
From the 515 Loupe https://515loupe.wordpress.com/
So baseline 10% minimum global tariff. Then Special rates for each country. China getting 34% and EU is getting 20%.
I consider this wonderful news. I love it!
Remember the tariff on Chinese goods coming into the US for under $600/$400? Not certain what the current price is?
I do not believe PT has lifted that tariff.
China rips us off for small orders every second of the day.
Thank you, President Trump. He’s the only one with the spine to ever do something like this. I’m always amazed how he’s managed to change the paradigm. I see this as a new beginning for our country.
Amazing, isn’t it???
DJT shows the way!
Courageous is
Contagious!
since when does reciprocal equate to 1/2?
Freedom Ring: I don’t get it, either, but, I no longer get anything.
I’m guessing the greatest POTUS of all time is giving them a chance to see the errors of their past behavior before equalizing the rates.
That is to say the carrot before the stick.
Also, I think he truly would like to have fair trade partners and does not seek to bankrupt them into oblivion. Just cull the socialist psychos they currently have in charge.
NICE TAKE because what you just stated would be 100%
Good point.
Our President like to make deals where everyone walks away with something.
Unfortunately in this instance, it’s like using a 2 x 4 to get the mule’s attention.
After he has their attention, then maybe a ‘fair deal’ can be worked out.
If not, well… we’ll see what happens
Step one: After markets remain stable. Go to step two.
Step two: If those countries don’t lower their tariffs, we will increase ours.
Where’s Canada on that chart?
Likely on page 2 or 3. It looks like there are 3 pages stapled together.
The absence speaks for itself.
Yes, I thought it was going to be equal.
As he called it, these are kind reciprocal tariffs. If they don’t like it, we can always go higher
Sounds like its STILL imbalanced,
They sell far more into our country, than we sell into theirs,…even at 1/2, however this is going to cause them some serious pain.
Just watch what happens….
He’s not a tyrant and certainly some countries must be struggling too. I see it as a gesture to get them to negotiate better rates, for all goods in both countries.
The other half is non-tariff manipulation, like currency devaluation.
I also believe this is a way to squeeze any bad actors.
Trump’s way. He normally gives anyone three tries before all Hell breaks loose. As PT said, “This is a NICE reciprocal tariff. ”
Be a shame if you double ship through low-tariff countries or deflate your currency.
yes including the infamous VAT value added tax
Piracy, dumping, knock-offs, engineering theft, trade barriers….Damn, it’s Wednesday!
It allows the rest of the world to know that tariffs are now a reality, not a threat.
Having to pay the half percentage of what they charge us is significantly more than what they were paying last week.
Already, Vietnam and Israel dropped their tariffs – they don’t charge us, we don’t charge them. THAT is the first step in equal trade.
Already, Canada is squawking about how they will “reduce their tariffs to zero if we do too”…but this was Trump’s original proposal to Canada. They declared dead on arrival…until real tariffs hit.
Half tariffs allows a grace period for countries to negotiate something NOW, before the tariffs go truly reciprocal. I will imagine that when that day happens, they will find President Trump much more difficult to negotiate with.
Canada, Mexico, and the EU have been acting much like the abusive spouse – treating the US in a very abusive manner, then playing the victim when America stands up to say, “No more!”
The trouble is…a significant number of Americans are weak-willed enough to say, “Well, I tried, but I deserve this….”. Just like an abused spouse, many of us will accept the abuse and blame, rather than make things right.
Its interesting how many countries are at only 10%, and how with them, we are doing reciprocal i.e. 10%.
President Trump
Isn’t
Pretending.
“Pay me now –
Or
Pay me later”
Maybe because that leaves wiggle room: if a country doesn’t lower its tariffs, we have the option to turn the screw more, say to 2/3 reciprocity.
He said that doing exact reciprocal tariffs are too much too soon for these other countries. So he called them “Kind Tariffs” in that we will give them time to adjust to whatever financial implications hit them without seriously harming them and their people.
Rather than dynamite the dam open, he is draining the dam so as not to harm the people down stream.
So far 2025 has been a hell of a year, in a hellish, bad way, with so much going on that at times I feel as though I cannot remember all the prayers that need to be said.
I know God knows everything in our hearts, and the Holy Spirit prayers for us when we are weak, and that is what brings me comfort.
Seeing this wonderful news today, a great word and joyous promise being declared and fulfilled, brought relief to my soul.
Thank you, Lord God, for Your goodness and grace, and for installing President Trump, for such a time as this.
The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Amen 🙏🏼
Beautiful.
We are here because and for Him.
God owns everything. We own nothing. We are called to be good stewards of what He gives us. President Trump is a good steward. May God bless him and keep him safe.
The one prayer I can always remember, and pray with joy, is Blessed be Your Name, oh Lord, most High. Holy, Holy, Holy, worthy are You to receive glory and honor and praise.
And that one prayer is always the best.
Thank you, Aggiegirl, for replying with the best words of all — God’s.
What you describe as a hellish year really pales when you consider what the year would have been like had FJB been re-elected or The Ho elected. Every day is a blessing with Pres. Trump at the helm. Thank you God!!!
The year has not been hellish due to anything political, but due to many, many close friends and family members being very sick, dying, going through soul wrenching situations, and many very difficult things for my husband and myself to walk through as we hold our Master’s hands and He leads the way.
So you cannot begin to know what my hellish year compares to, and politics is not even in my rear view mirror at the moment — other than seeing the gracious hand of God shown through President Trump.
So very sorry to hear all that you are facing… sometimes there are no words that are adequate but, I pray that God will give you immeasurable grace and a special measure of peace each and every day!
It’s horrible to deal with personal tragedies. Most of us have been there, done that more than once. You gave no indication in your post that you were speaking of personal issues, so maybe your lashing out at DeadTired’s post was a bit over the top? I really don’t think any offense was meant.
…..’1000 years of darkness…’
Thank You President Trump
President Trump is like the hero in 1956’s sci-fi horror movie, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, who finds out that many of his so-called friends and neighbors are actually evil alien seed pods who’ve taken over the bodies of real humans…
…which perfectly describes the Uniparty politicians pretending to represent the American people’s interest all the while draining their economic blood!
All of the Uniparty seed pods in the legacy media and the EU, China and Canada are screaming that Trump is starting a world-wide trade war!
But the non-pretenders know that war was already declared against America decades ago…Trump’s tariffs aren’t starting a war, they’re ending it!
And it’s a beautiful thing to see!
Sort of like Storming the Beaches of Normandy?
Sort of like that, except our G.I.s will be getting pay raises instead of digging graves!

They didn’t want Harris.
However, Johnson could have done something.
After Harris ‘should’ have declared Biden non compos, Johnson should have declared her ineligible to be President. No one had balls to do either.
A lot of states need to get on board with honest elections – the very worst appear to be Wisconsin, AZ, California,Michigan, Pa, and multiple states on the east coast.
Been traveling all day but Whoa Boy are the Globalists at the WSJ pushing propaganda today (as expected)!!! 7-8 lead articles with negative headlines on tariffs….
I know I have posted it several times in the past few weeks, but Nothing and I mean NOTHING squeals louder and longer than the brakes on the Gravy Train.
And while annoying, that is what WINNING! sounds like.
I considered if they were trying to create a panic in the Markets to cause the crash which could then be laid at Trump’s feet.
I considered if that was the reason for the Senate’s ploy with 500% tariff threat….
They are certainly trying very hard to get We the People panicked….
And PT undercut their game plan!!!!

Thats a Council On Foreign Relations website. The CFR is a anti-American Uniparty organization that manages the fake news media for the CIA, was the organization responsible for drawing up the economic treason of Free Trade and despise President Donald J Trump, his American First Policies, and Heritage America which they are hell bent on destroying and their creation of Free Trade, open borders, and endless wars has just about bankrupted and destroyed this country. Not a good source to try and convince Treepers that PDJT is wrong and the despised Council On Foreign Relations is correct when they are largely responsible for destroying our economy to begin with.

I’m sure many of their citizens will be shocked to read the tariffs imposed against the USA. For example, Canadians will learn the truth and perhaps will get a better deal on US food products coming their way.
It will be quite the eye opener when all people see how abusive the system has been to us. Maybe they will try to make up for it in some way and tell us how great we have been in helping them prosper? LOL wouldn’t that be the day…
These are not just tariffs between two countries. On small sectors of trade to fix trade imbalance or unfairness. President Trump has started a Global Trade War.
Trade wars wreak nothing but havoc to everyone’s economy.
You all can view things thru orange tinted glasses. But the Rest of the World sees things quite differently.
China has stated they will escalate as we escalate. Including attacks on the Dollar as the reserve currency.
China controls half of the worlds shipping and trade. China has many heavy economic weapons they can use.
So far they have shown restraint. If and when they take the gloves off. They can make things very hard on us.
Also Trump has said he does not care about the stock market. Many others echo this sentiment as well.
Trade wars historically have been very bad for stock markets.
Business depends on investors to buy their stock for funds to expand business.
The stock market has fallen 10%, and has been flat lining with downward trend for the last 30+ days.
If the stock market crashes and interest rates remain up.
Where are all these businesses going to get the funds to invest and grow new and existing business in America?
“,…trade wars historically have been very bad for the stovk market.”
Really? I do not recall a true trade war, in my 70 years.
Certainly not one in which the U.S. was a participant.
As for the stock market, It will rebound and more than make up for any losses.
To say this is a trade war, is deceptive; the U.S. has such a monumental advantage that its no contest, really. We buy so much more stuff, per capita, that every country wants to sell in our market.
They simply have no way to counter that, and so will come around.
It’s amusing how after 80 years of The Marshall Plan, so many people have Stockholm Syndrome; that the dominant media paradign of the Take-Down-America screeching prevails in regard to actual fair trade tariffs becoming “Trump is starting a global trade war! OMG the sky is falling! What will we do if we make anyone unhappy!” Meanwhile all these countries have been sucking us dry, depleting our jobs and manufacturing base, astronomically escalating our debt, and jeopardizing our national security. (Yes it is a problem if we have to rely on China to ship us everything our modern society depends upon.)
Stocks trading on the exchanges are an auction market between buyer and seller. That activity does not bring in new capital to the issuer. Only new issues and IPOs bring in new capital. The markets have been in distribution for several weeks which is perfectly normal. Stocks will soar at the point when seller are exhausted. Hang on it’s going to the moon.
I guess you missed the part where if their country lowers their tariff, the US will lower the tariff to that country. You also missed the fact that in most cases our tariff to them is 50% of what they charge for our shipments to them.
Each country has a choice.
Bingo!
A link to the Council On Foreign Relations website… Are you serious?

I’ve been doing that for years.
They’re dang hard to find. But it will change soon…

When one looks at the back pages, one finds most of the world is charging us a flat 10% tariff.
We are now charging them a flat 10% tariff.
So, for MOST of the world, this is a reciprocal arrangement.
I’m figuring most people haven’t moved off the front 2 pages, in their wondering why it “isn’t reciprocal”.
There are two countries very noticeably absent from that list.
They happen to be our northern and southern neighbors.
President Trump is still negotiating.
This has nothing to do with VAT and the rest of the pillaging, piracy, dumping, currency devaluation, counterfeiting, etc.
I guess, we’ll see.

Looks like a smart country can hit us with 19% and we’ll stick at 10%. Just sayin’

Brietbart Business, written by John Carney has a good article saying “expect a boom” and refuting the main arguments asseting that the tariffs will be bad.
His arguments seem pretty sound.
I thought the same. I’ve been reading his articles, and it’s refreshing to hear an intelligent position, especially when you hear the nonstop lying and fearmongering from the MSM.

It’s akin to modern ‘medicine’. The money is in ‘sickcare’ not actual healthcare. A ‘sick/weak economy’ requires ‘political solutions’ and those solutions are being made by individuals who profit from those solutions….aka Congress and their “influencers” for instance.

@POTUS’ landmark tariff announcement, dubbed “Liberation Day,” is a bold and long-overdue reset of the global trade system. The Trump administration’s decision to impose a permanent 10% baseline tariff on imports from all countries, combined strategically with higher reciprocal tariffs on nations engaging in unfair trade practices, marks a crucial step forward in reindustrializing America and restoring economic strength and security.

My reply to Johnson is this: help President Trump get the judges in order, THEN I’ll listen to what you have to say about President Trump’s tariff policies.
So long as the House and Senate remain twiddling their thumbs while the Democrats go on their psychotic rampage, I have little need for their pontificating.
I’ll be surprised if we see anything constructive coming out of Congress.

Reports are Canada is exempt from todays new tariffs.
All Canada got was a double minor for elbowing.
Apparently, President Trump will honor the USMCA trade deal with Canada and Mexico which is good news. That’s why Canada and Mexico are not on the chart.
In addition, the Senate is expected to vote against President Trump’s emergency proclamation on Canada declaration at 7pm tonight with four Republicans joining the Democrats.
Canada and Mexico have special treatment due to the USMCA negotiations. It seems a bit complicated and I haven’t figured out most of it yet. The trade/tariff people are working on fixing some components of the deal and getting to better numbers.
That’s fine as long as we are not getting the short stick anymore.

Look to their donor class going ballistic, like the business round table and similar groups. The Senators have been bought and our great President will never be bought, that is why they hate him…they are not able to bribe, or lobby him for any amount of their sticky money.
Didja see Graham seems to have come out with a way forward, on the budget that will give PDJT what he wants?
Maybe why Ladybugs gets his endorsement?
If true, that would be a phenomenal deal. So he gets another run as senator from the great state of SC …but more importantly, President Trump and We the People get the full Trump agenda enacted into law. What a win that would be.
Great news. Less cheap china made that end up in landfill
Crap from Chyna is cheap….until you have to replace it ten times.

@ABDanielleSmith
Today was an important win for Canada and Alberta, as it appears the United States has decided to uphold the majority of the free trade agreement (CUSMA) between our two nations. It also appears this will continue to be the case until after the Canadian Federal election has concluded and the newly elected Canadian government is able to renegotiate CUSMA with the U.S. Administration.
This is precisely what I have been advocating for from the U.S. Administration for months.
It means that the majority of goods sold into the United States from Canada will have no tariffs applied to them, including 0% tariffs on energy, minerals, agricultural products, uranium, seafood, potash and host of other Canadian goods.
Cont reading…
Clearly it was because of your advocacy. LOL
What about the fentanyl?
oh, 200% tariff on fentanyl.
Different tariff, if I am not mistaken.
That’s all well and good, but I still think we should send mininoplace to Canada to top off the deal.
’bout F’in’ time. Europe and Japan should have had 20 years protection to rebuild. That’s it. This comes 57 years later than it should have. No one else has had the guts to do it.
Prez TRUMP!!!!
It is going be a BLOODBATH on Wall Street tomorrow. Investors are going to lose billions. Retirement accounts will continue to disappear. Inflation will keep rising. Companies will soon start laying off millions. Unemployment will jump to 6, 7%+. GDP will drop.. Hope it’s worth it..
After hours the SPY is down 3.5% as of 5:30pm Central. I won’t be surprised if we see trading halted tomorrow.
EDIT: PT is playing a dangerous game right now – playing around with people’s retirement accounts.
Whatever would we do here without concerned trolls like you?
If you aren’t even the slightest bit concerned right now, then I don’t know what to tell you.
If you base your thoughts on what the market is doing after hours, I don’t know what to tell you.
We’ve seen the DOW plunge 1,000 or more points before in after hours, only to be up when the market opened the next day. Even if it isn’t up tomorrow, this will be short lived. Good time for picking up some bargains, which I plan to do.
…the b o market plunge in ’08 was detrimental
(except for those that knew it was coming, in advance).
A lot a detrimental occurrences have occurred during the last 4 years
and the market largely overlooked it due to HUGE government miss spending (and national debt increases).
A correction would make sense, …
except, that there are A LOT of investments into the USA future that are occurring, and are made public – that the market can see. (which potentially could offset, deter, a market correction )
I do not know.
p.s. there have been market corrections before,
and there have been recoveries before.
p.s. investing in America, USA, is looking better today, than last year…
(proven by companies prior announcements in 2025 to build / restore / invest in the USA )
There are no guarantees.
But, why do some politicians become enriched?
Are they bought?
By whom?
Does the ‘whom’ represent your interests?
Publicly, ‘they’ often do not say, in real time or before an election.
hmmm…
imho
I’m not even the slightest bit concerned.
God bless President Trump!
….more like…comfortably numb…..life is good. Short term pain for l9ng term gain.
Call your broker.
LOL. Yep
He should call his handler and get better talking points.
Ok, so.
The deep state purposely blew a hole into the hull.
( They brag about it).
President Trump is furiously patching it.
You are concerned that we might drown because you aren’t positive
about the quality of the patch.
Concern noted.
Fear not, no sacrifice on your part will be required.
Please continue with the folding of your hands.
This is the only President that I would go to war for.
P.S. the stock market is rigged and always has been in my lifetime.
Comic relief 😉
if you were truly raised on Reagan you should know this.
( The fly’s name is Donald.)
Simple enough. Events have proven him wrong.
President Trump isn’t the one playing with fire with respect to those retirement accounts.
The hedge fund and bankers are.
They are the ones in charge of planning ahead, and tailoring those accounts to absorb what shock the markets can inflict.
Most of the “shock” is due to the rants of “gurus” like Jim Cramer, who has spent no end of emotional capital to portray tomorrow as economic Armageddon.
I’m guessing you’ve been persuaded into that line of thought as well.
This isn’t about bankers and Jim Cramer; it’s about recognizing the WEIGHT of a president’s words and subsequent actions on financial systems already running on thin confidence.
Hey dude. Pls let me know what about President’s Trumps tariffs he did NOT tell the world about years ago? Pls tell me when President Trump hasn’t followed through on his promises?
If your retirement account is losing money, then your asset manager is to blame. Or, if self managed, you are to blame. Gold at records, oil big rally and actually, EU stocks on a nice run (of all things).
Grant Williams and Michael Kao interview Rabobank’s Michael Every on the decline of the post-WWII Liberal World Order (LWO) and the rise of Economic Statecraft. Best explanation yet that I have seen of the intent of the Trump administration
https://www.urbankaoboy.com/p/kaos-theory-episode-9-michael-every
People who put their money into “retirement accounts” with no thought or knowledge for what their money is invested into (as long as their account grows) deserve whatever this brings. When a person is only concerned with their “return”, they unwittingly harm others by their greed. “Hey Mr. Broker, my quarterly return is down. Do something.” Mr. Broker calls the mega-holding company that in turn calls Wal-Mart (or similar) top brass, who then in turn fire the account holders’ neighbor in order to show a gain. The stock market as currently structured and used is mostly greed run amok. Yes, people may get hurt in the short term, but the vast majority won’t even have a clue which tariffs, if any, have harmed them-or whether it’s the MSM hyping the possibility of harm that did it.
The fund managers are expressly accountable for managing the impact of a President’s words. That’s why they undergo financial and securities training, and get paid big bucks for managing these funds.
Concerns NOTED.
Do you actually think the weight of the Presidents words today drives markets? His trade policy was priced in six months ago. Professionals don’t trade on the press conference of today. If support on SPY goes below the 250 and bears go above 62 I couldn’t be happier.
Maybe or maybe not. But if you want to see what a real BLOODBATH might look like, consider this likely scenario if we do nothing.
The USA finds itself at war with [FILL IN THE BLANK]. We quickly need to build planes, ships, subs, tanks, munitions, etc. We also need meds and bandages for the injured and dying, plus thousands of other things necessary when a country is at war. We have nobody inhouse to build or supply those things. We’ll then have to ask [FILL IN THE BLANK] to help us.
Voila! A BLOODBATH. No more USA.
Are you from California?
Yes, we’re making America great, I guess!
We’re trying to.
You are the irritating little sibling that mom said that we had to bring along.
This is like listening to Steve Liesman blathering on about tariffs on CNBC, complete with male menstrual cramps. Or Jim “Contraindicator” Cramer melting down. I think I’ll go have a cigar. I don’t care about tomorrow one way or the other.
Cats and dogs playing together, oh my!
plagues of locusts and rivers run red with blood!
Women wearing white shoes after Labor Day. The horror, the horror…
I was told by my Nana that wearing anything white after Labor Day is a faux pas extraordinaire….not just shoes…:)
Like the Covid distribution? Oct of 08 was a 40% drop. It bottomed in March of 09 and the smart money was loading up while the bears didn’t know until August it was over. A 3%SPY down day is not abnormal. You can’t end 80 years of the post WW2 economic order without distribution Calm down.
You sound like a dim that wants that to happen.
The Smoot-Hawley tariffs, which ushered in the Great Depression, at least were passed by Congress as stipulated by Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.
Today’s illegitimate tariffs-by-decree are a declaration of war on the American people.
As presidential candidate Walter Mondale once said — ‘Of course, I’m going to raise your taxes.’
Back in 1930 there was actually no need for the Smoot-Hawley law because other countries had not set up the kinds of protectionist tariffs and policies that they have today. In effect, these countries have their own Smoot-Hawley-type laws to the detriment of the US. Those days are now over with reciprocal tariffs.
Smoot-Hawley was not the root-cause of the Great Depression. Yes, I know, it’s been taught in schools ad nauseum for decades, but length of time taught does not equate to being the truth.
What ushered in the Great Depression was the bill for Keynesian economics: extremely bad fiduciary policies and extremely risky derivatives trading.
Smoot-Hawley tariffs did not (and could not) cause the market to crash in 1929. The consequences for bad money and trading policies did.
That FDR was able to conveniently blame the tariffs for the Great Depression, made tariffs a vulgar. off-limits topic, even while the rest of the world conveniently used them to rape America for decades.
Trump is now addressing that imbalance. If “Protectionist tariffs” of the Smoot-Hawley Act cause a Great Depression when enacted…why aren’t the countries charging the highest tariffs – like China – mired in so Great a Depression?
Thanks for playing.
You are echoing the Propagandists. Smoot Hawley did not “usher in the Great Depression”.
“The Smoot-Hawley tariffs, which ushered in the Great Depression,
Uh, no. Everything we have been taught about economics for the past century has been either a lie or BS. Read around, and come back when you have joined the rest of us in 2025.
Wow. That’s a whole lot of falsehoods right there. Read up on your American history. Skip sources from knucklehead leftists.
Who is that guy you speak of? Walter Middy…?
Smoot caused the Great Depression? Right. Just ask the Fed and Samuelsons Econ 101 text book. They said it so it must be correct.
I know that is what is taught by our so called educator’s Marxist Indoctrination. Not true.
The Great Depression began in 1929 with the crash of the stock market.
Smoot-Hawley was in 1930.
The sky is not falling. Wait a few weeks, and see how many countries lower their barriers to get a better deal.
Cleanup on aisle 5 as the concerned trolls are out tonight.
Yup.
Concern, like stock market volatility, makes its presence known tonight.
More and more appear every.single.day.
Waste of time.
I suspect with the dissolving of USAID, many former employees and ESPECIALLY fund recipients now have lots of time on their hands……
Soooo…that’s where they’re coming from.😂🤣
LOTS of volatility. be careful. but understand there is opportunity here.
don’t bet the farm.
these things don’t happen often.
God Bless America
Yep. Stocks have had an almost unprecedented run coming out of COVID. If you weren’t trimming positions in last 6 months, that’s on you (or your asset mgr). Reminder: stocks move in both directions.
The two biggest drivers of the stock market are fear and greed. These are also the two biggest bankruptors of traders’ accounts.
Don’t sell on the down, and don’t let greed cause you to buy more than you should.
Risk management, position sizing, and money management will bring the trader through, with many opportunities in tow to profit from.
Thanks Trump!
The ART of the Deal! Trump did lower his final tariff on many countries, and I’m ok with that. So 50 percent lower than retail! So hopefully the World will breath easier! It’s 50 percent more than we were getting.
Keep up the good work President Trump! MAGA is behind you.
Room for leverage in the future, like tomorrow.
Happy blocked by judges day .
GOP braces for potential defeat on Trump tariff bill
Excerpt:
Senate Republicans are bracing for the passage of a bipartisan bill to undo President Trump’s 25-percent tariff against Canada, which would deal Trump an embarrassing setback on “Liberation Day,” an occasion the president has proclaimed to announce a new round of tariffs.
Four Republicans — Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Mitch McConnell (Ky.) — have indicated publicly or privately that they would vote for the resolution, according to Senate Democrats.

DOA in the House. Will never see the light of day there. Tempest in a teapot.
I am glad Rand Paul is finally showing his true colors, look who he is with.
Why are they even doing this? Canada and Mexico will fall under usmca. Current tariffs Trump previously added are about fentynal.
—
Excerpt:
For Canada and Mexico, the existing fentanyl/migration IEEPA orders remain in effect, and are unaffected by this order. This means USMCA compliant goods will continue to see a 0% tariff, non-USMCA compliant goods will see a 25% tariff, and non-USMCA compliant energy and potash will see a 10% tariff. In the event the existing fentanyl/migration IEEPA orders are terminated, USMCA compliant goods would continue to receive preferential treatment, while non-USMCA compliant goods would be subject to a 12% reciprocal tariff.

To get the sound bite/talking point to use against PDJT.
Yep but we’re supposed to jump up and down clapping like idiots 🙄
Straw that broke the camels back on rand… Don’t care what so called principals he claims to stand on. To many bad votes he’s a traitor
Yep same with Massie. So all the Kentucky Repugnants are complete traitors.
He always has been.
Long on , after the fact, talk.
I’m glad that people are finally waking up to the fraud.
