Yesterday, Sunday night, the U.S technical delegation met with representatives from Ukraine to get deeper into specifics of what Ukraine wants for a ceasefire. The meetings are taking place in Saudi Arabia.
The Ukrainian delegation was led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Heorhii Tykhyi, foreign ministry spokesperson, said on Friday the Ukrainian and American sides were due “to clarify the modalities, the nuances of possible different ceasefire regimes, how to monitor them, how to control them, in general, what is included in their scope”.
Following the meeting with the Ukrainian delegation who, together with elements of the CIA/EU and NATO – visibly appear to hold a desire to continue the war (and funding therein), the U.S delegation is scheduled to meet with their Russian counterparts today (Monday).

As soon as details can be worked out, hopefully sooner rather than later, President Trump can then schedule a face-to-face meeting with the unelected leader of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
With everything currently happening in Turkey –HOT MESS– we can well imagine President Trump wants to speed up this timeline of a ceasefire in Ukraine so that he can enlist Russian President Vladimir Putin on other matters.
A looming realignment is on the horizon in the middle east as Turkey, Syria, Iran and Machiavellian Qatar along with the CIA are likely to form a coalition (pro Muslim Brotherhood group). This creates an opportunity for President Trump, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Russia to form a counterbalance alliance.
Russia and the USA working together in the middle east would be a game changer.
Vladimir Putin already has good relations with Mohammed bin Salman (Saudi) and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi (Egypt). Putin can create the ability for President Trump to bridge the diplomatic gap with Iran. On the other side of that dynamic, Qatar, Syria, Israel, the CIA and Turkey would not like a Russia-USA peace alignment like that.
Of course, all of this geopolitical positioning is contingent upon getting the issues within the Ukraine-Russia conflict resolved quickly. However, the NATO group (sans USA), the European Union, United Kingdom and CIA are in no hurry to resolve the conflict, and the officials (including Zelenskyy) within the Ukraine government do not want their financial indulgences to end.
The technical negotiation teams may be discussing the challenging stuff about how to secure a ceasefire, but the background motives for the Ukrainian elements are not necessarily aligned with peace as their best personal option.

auminer overstates the case but there is some merit in his argument, particularly regarding the middle east. trump worked out a multi-stage ceasefire agreement before he was inaugurated and managed to get israel to stop shooting. however when israel recently attacked gaza again, and lebanon and syria, he did very little if anything. the tides of history are moving against israel and, if the u.s. doesn’t try to do what would really make america great again, moving against the u.s. we still don’t have hypersonic missiles (and the houthis do). the u.s. populace, not to mention the rest of the world, is casting its sympathies increasingly with the palestinians and against israel. even the jewish people of the u.s., particularly the younger ones, are becoming less zionist, just see how many jewish students were protesting the attacks on gaza. at some point israel will have to give political representation to the palestinians because this time the israelis were bested militarily by the forces, increasingly powerful with russia, iran, and china’s alliance, arrayed against it.

Russia has no observable interest in forming an anti-China alliance with the United States. That could change over time depending on China’s geopolitical behavior.
On the contrary, Russia could eventually find itself in the position of having closer relations with the USA and China than China and the USA have with each other.
This of course assumes that U.S.-China relations will deteriorate significantly as U.S.-Russia relations continue to improve.

As you well know, what I said was, it’s too late for Trump to avoid negative consequences for whatever happens next in Ukraine and the ME because he’s now, in people’s minds, the owner of both of those issues. This doesn’t mean he can’t navigate his way out of both of those issues, it means whatever happens, in people’s minds, they no longer hold Biden solely responsible for both messes, they now equate Trump with both issues.
The simple way out for Trump was, on Jan 21st, to walk away from both of those, label them as “Biden wars” whenever he talked about both, and proceed with his domestic agenda, which he clearly wants to prioritise, hence his sense of urgency in progressing resolutions to both of those now.
But he has blundered with respect to entangling himself in these quarrels, and it’s too late for him to back out and this is going to become an increasing cost to his presidency. Sadly, because I want nothing less than for Trump to become written into history as the best POTUS in history.

I actually agree with you. Trump should have ditched both. His biggest problem with Ukraine is NATO/EU will never allow him to walk away, and I believe they will make it worse. He should have walked away in January and let Russia crush them all.
Both Trump and Putin want nothing more than to be free to focus on their own respective domestic issues, which are many. Neither of them want these conflicts which have been forced upon them by external forces. This is why Russia is so closely co-operating with team Trump on progressing peace in not only Eastern Europe but also in the ME through Russia’s close relationship with Iran.
At the same time, the external forces who caused both conflicts to erupt in the first place, are vigorously working to sabotage peace breaking out.

I know that this is over simplifying the situation, but given that there are 5 territories in Ukraine right now that are Russian speakers, want to be ruled by Russia and Russia has welcomed them into the Russian Federation, it seems like it makes such practical sense to now set up ALL of Ukraine in a plan like this- 5 of their territories already ARE Now, so extend this across Ukraine- we all know Russia won this war.
Ukraine will be independent and yet Russian Territory in the same exact fashion that the US is now planning on doing with Greenland.
The reason I think this is the best solution is because every evil force on the planet seems be licking their chops waiting to get into this war-torn and corrupt shell of a nation that Ukraine is- to get whatever out of it that they can.
I can easily envision the creation of another failed rogue state sitting right on Russia’s border and then Russia having the same damn constant mess that Israel has..

If this really is what Trump is aiming for then he’s being badly mis-advised on ME politics because there is a giant game changing reality flaw in that scenario. Which is that Iran is not, and never has been, an ally in favour of Muslim Brotherhood. And it will not, and never will, ally itself with states like Turkey and Qatar, against its close friend and protector, Russia. It’s also never going to align itself with Syria since Assad was deposed and ISIS (operating under a new brand called HTS) took it over. But that’s a secondary matter. The most important thing is: Iran and Russia are joined at the hip through BRICS, and that’s far more important to both of those nations than a relationship with the US will ever be, to each of them.

I think President Trump and PM Netanyahu have something in common. Neither one wants war, anywhere in the world. They both want only peace and stability in the world. If their own Country or people are attacked or endangered, they will fight to protect them. I’m wondering why Witkoff put in these appearances on the media. By giving the US position on specific parts of what the US wants, he is endangering any agreements if he says something that is better not said, especially since the Ukrainians are looking for any excuse to continue the conflict.
In fact, most of these cabinet members and department chairs need to stop appearing on television, except in a rare appearance.

Consequently IF something was said that President Trump didn’t want said, after 8+ everyone knows that PDJT would issue a PUBLIC correction.
Since no correction was made, its safe to assume that what was said, was what PDJT wanted to be said
although by Witkoff so PDJT retains the advantages of plausibile deniability if needed and “not TOTALLY sure” uncertainty..
As an aside, DJTs long time personal friends, like Witkoff and Lutnick, are not in the same league as other spokesmen for President Trump who are political acquaintances like Rubio and Waltz
although both so far have exceeded my original expectations.

Trump is trying to radically change foreign policy without saying what he’s going. That won’t work and might even get him killed.
He needs to come out and say, “look, the CIA has been running our foreign policy for over 30 years and I am ending that now. Starting today, American foreign policy will be planned and implemented by elected presidents, not by the CIA. The CIA decided that it was going to antagonize Russia ceaselessly by bringing NATO up to the borders of Russia. There wasn’t any reason to do that and I’m stopping that policy now. Trump is trying to reorient U.S foreign policy secretly, and that is an extremely dangerous course because it allows the CIA to continue to secretly work to thwart him, at the least.
And yet Director Radcliffe seems to allow his agency to undermine PT.

As correctly set forth above by Sundance, Trump’s “peace efforts” are directly opposed by his own CIA. In my opinion, this is the single most critical aspect of the entire Ukraine-Russian “war.”
The CIA is an out-of-control, wholly secretive, rogue, power-mad governmental entity that has one main goal: to control the entire world.
I do not think newly-appointed CIA chief John Ratcliffe aligns with this scenario. But I can only imagine that there exist hundreds, if not thousands, of upper-level CIA operatives and managers that are so caught-up and subsumed by this evil ideology that they will do anything — anything — to maintain their power.
Fully exposing the CIA’s criminality and anti-democratic operations, and dismantling their core structure and entrenched geopolitical operations is the only way humanity is going to survive this war of all wars.
I hope Trump realizes this. He must kill off the CIA. He must destroy them.
