Why does this need to be broadcast? Why is it important to the people who pull the strings on Ukraine, for there to be public visibility on a meeting of G7 leaders discussing Ukraine? Why do they need the optics?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky personally asked President Trump for continued American support during a cross-ocean G7 meeting held Monday — the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Zelensky — flanked by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other world leaders who made their way to Kyiv to mark the occasion — made his case to Trump on why the US should work to protect Ukraine’s interests amid ongoing tension with the president.
President Trump joined the meeting from Washington, where he was flanked by Vice President JD Vance and French President Emmanuel Macron. WATCH:
Vladimir Putin has a weapon the “west” cannot defend against. It’s not part of his physical military armament, it’s far more powerful. Putin has the truth as a weapon.
The western group must pretend they didn’t carry out a color revolution in Ukraine. They must also pretend they didn’t install Volodymyr Zelenskyy and pretend there was no civil war happening inside Ukraine for a decade. Lastly, the western group must pretend they didn’t try to provoke Vladimir Putin with expansions of NATO and an intentional breaking of the Minsk accords. There are other pretenses that must be maintained, but these are the top ones.
Into this grand game of pretenses comes President Donald Trump, not exactly the best pretender (by choice) and Vladimir Putin not only knows this, but he also respects this Trump attribute of honesty in problem solving.
Keep in mind, President Putin watched how President Trump dealt with the “North Korea threat” problem that was left to him by President Obama. Putin watched how Trump negotiated an exit to escalating conflict by honesty confronting China, the true hand on the puppet strings of the DPRK.
Putin saw in that North Korea geopolitical dynamic that President Trump dealt with Kim Jong-un with a brutally honest strategy that encompassed the influence of China. While Putin is more allied currently with China, he knows President Trump cuts through the gordian knot woven by western interventionists. Trump cuts through the gordian knot with honest and pragmatic policy.
As a result of this dynamic, everyone around President Trump, including the National Security Council, his National Security Advisor (Waltz), his CIA Director (Ratcliffe), and his State Dept Secretary (Rubio), all have to maintain the “western” pretenses that were/are cemented by the people and silos they replace.
The larger American government, sans President Trump, have to maintain all the aforementioned pretenses, in part because the Intelligence Community and the USA media support it, and in part because it would weaken the USA on the global stage to ever make honest admissions about our control of Ukraine. And yes, that pretending dynamic includes Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg who President Trump appointed as special envoy for Russia and Ukraine.
Vladimir Putin’s strongest weapon is the truth. Vladimir Putin also knows the auto-setting on President Trump’s psyche of problem solving, ie ‘optimal solutions’, is also centered on truth.
The proverbial $64,000 question: How does truthful President Trump deal with truthful President Putin, while all around the office of the White House are people who only know how to maintain pretenses?
That my friends, is going to be a very interesting dynamic to watch.
One way President Trump could gain back the power of not pretending is to: (1) request an immediate ceasefire; then (2) tell the CIA (Ratcliffe) to immediately withdraw all CIA operatives from Ukraine; then (3) tell Secretary Marco Rubio to pull all USAID operatives out of Ukraine; then (4) tell Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy he must hold a national election within 60 days.
If the U.S and NATO pull all of the control agents out of Ukraine and hold an election, the result will highlight the will of the Ukranian people to retain Volodymyr Zelenskyy. If Zelenskyy wins, then he is in a stronger position. If he loses, then he was never strong to begin with, and he’s the wrong person to be negotiating with.
Calling for an election in Ukraine is a radical approach because I think we all know what the outcome would be. Then again, that’s the problem with pretending, when you stop you have to accept the result.

I don’t understand this fake war thing. Granted, I have never seen ANY war footage and few photos, which is bizarre given social media. No doubt the left would love to show war pictures that make Russia look evil.
Trump talks body count constantly and not hard to verify if thousands of Ukrainian men are dying.
That emotionally driven MSM narrative is used to validate the war in Ukraine and has been promoted as the truth everywhere. “All the Hundreds of Thousands Killed”. However the globalist narrative was not used to end the war, it was designed to keep the war going endlessly. To establish legitimacy to a fake war as its foundation.

They have regularly been targeted and killed in underground bunkers, but we just need them out. Deploy them on our borders to protect our country from cartels.

I actually think Trump is serious about ending a conflict we started, that could have, and could still, evolve into a nuclear exchange. Unless we end our participation, cut our losses and change our foreign policy into a strong nation seeking peaceful, yet economically competitive, relations with Russia.

Why would a large number of world leaders travel to a “war zone” to show support for the war? Doesn’t that put them in a very precarious position? War zones are dangerous places! As part of the sanctions regime against Russia, France, Germany, England, Italy, US etc. all “Froze” any Russian assets in their countries, I seem to recall it was 100’s of billions?
During the war, these countries can use up any interest from the “frozen” assets, for instance to fund the war with $ to Ukraine,…but they can not touch the PRINCIPLE.
However, once the hostilities stop, as part of a peace agreement, they can insist that Russia, as the aggressor, must pay reparations, both to Ukraine, and to these countries that “loaned” $ to Ukraine.
However, what happens if PDJT says “Well, NO! Actually, Russia was NOT the aggressor, Biden and Zalensky, by duscussing NATO membership for Ukraine, were the aggressors,…along with Euromaiden, along with NATO expansion, etc.
Then, those Russian assets must be unfrozen, and returned to Russia, and the U.S. should be paying reparations, as Ukraine (the other aggressor) has no $.
This is why PDJT has said, informally that Biden and Zalensky started it, but then just keeps on reiterating “never would have happened, if I had been in office.”
He knows, Putin knows and each knowd the other knows,…but is Putin going to agree to surrendering those frozen assets, to pay reparations for a war he did everything he reasonably could to try to avoid?

I think the negotiations will be about Reducing the size and effectiveness of NATO by reducing our foot print (close some bases) and reduce financial commitment. Europe will not rise to that event and both Putin and Trump know it. Trump has nearly completed a slight of hand where Europe believes it is their idea,
The point is Ukraine is lost there is no credible reason for Putin to not set all the terms, Only by doing a bigger deal can we normalize Ukraine. it is an opportunity for trump to negotiate big reductions in military spending and we cant get significant reductions in that theater without reducing NATO.
Taking territory when you are asked in is one thing (Donbas, Crimea) but trying to take and hold Poland or germany is not going to happen, NATO has no value any more.
Your approach sounds good on paper. However:
If Russia agrees to a 60 day ceasefire to allow elections, the Ukrainians will have time to rebuild their defenses. As we stand, Russia has pierced through Ukrainian lines in two places. There are minimal defenses ahead. Ukraine is trying to build some fast about 6-7 km away, but are harassed by Russian drones.
At this rate, the Russians will reach those uncompleted lines in a week or so. That’s the last (unfinished) line before flat lands all the way to Dniepr.
If there is a ceasefire, the Ukrainians will have time to build 2 lines of defense, rearm, reorganize, rest, etc…
If I put myself in Russian shoes:
I would not agree to a ceasefire. I would say fighting goes on until an agreement is reached.
Russia spent 3 years breaking through some of the most toughest defensive lines since WW2. Why would the stop now, when victory seem at the horizon. The Ukrainians are exhausted, and demoralized. The Russians are the opposite.
I think Trump is more likelier to stop Starlink signals, armament, intelligence sharing, logistics support, and others. Especially after Zelenskyy’s disrespectful treatment.
I think Trump is waiting for Romania to stabilize and have a President. In May.

Pres Trump is negotiating with Pres Putin not only because he wants peace. As important is that we have no choice. There can be no global war with Russia because of the nuclear weapons on both our sides. Europe is literally doing its best to start such a war anyway.
The US faces hard work to dig itself out of this mess. On the positive side, the Trump team does have a plan to restore US economic power that IMO can work. But nobody should underestimate the gravity of the situation we find ourselves in or what it will take to succeed.

It’s not in the Russian interest, or for durable, long term European security to enter a ceasefire.
They need to finish the job and utterly destroy the Kiev regime, along with unequivocally defeating the EU.
Ukraine must elect a legitimate president and parliament to even be able to enter into a comprehensive peace treaty for what territory they may retain. That cannot be anyone Europe wants, like Zalushniy, or other Banderite regime thugs.
In the meantime, while the Zelensky regime is securing and squirrel holing the billions extorted at the expense of their million war dead and utterly destroyed infrastructure and society, the Russians need to enlarge the territorial buffer. Every kilometer added creates a safer perimeter from missiles or nukes in the future.
This new state must be demilitarized, and neutral. A rump nation that the Russians can trust. No NATO, or foreign military present, ever.
They cannot trust Europe or us. In 4 years we could start the whole mess again.
Tentatively entering into joint projects like energy in the Arctic, joint trade, diplomatic relations are all excellent exercises. That said, Russia must retain its’ sovereignity, and strengthen the multitude of nations exiting the hegemony of our immoral, and unconstitutional empire created since 1945.
