Zelenskyy was in Poland, Germany, the UAE and Turkey since last weekend. For a nation “at war” President Zelenskyy has a lot of time to travel to various countries outside his own.

Zelenskyy’s participation in the organization of how the USA and Russia talk to each other is irrelevant and moot.
♦ Last night, drones from Ukraine attacked a pumping station responsible for transporting oil through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). This is not exclusively a Russian oil infrastructure asset. This is partly a western asset belonging to American energy corporations. As noted by Medvedev: “In 2024, American businesses accounted for over 40% of CPC oil shipments, and together with other Western companies, their total share exceeded 65%.”
Now, think carefully about what the Western control elements behind the Ukraine military operations are doing. “They” are, essentially, using U.S. provided military weapons, to target energy infrastructure -ancillary to Russia- that is owned by American corporations. Who are “they”?

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline was completed about 20 years ago and remains operational.
Second, cooperating with Russia to expand an existing pipeline from Kazakhstan to Russia where Kazakh oil produced by ExxonMobil and Chevron would be further carried to Novorossysk on the Black Sea for tanker transport to global markets. This element of cooperation was to give weak Russia a solid reason not to interfere with the Azerbaijan pipeline project and avoid damaging cooperative relations with Moscow.
The CPC pipeline project also served to divert Kazakhstan from building a pipeline south to Iran, where Kazkakh oil could be swapped with Iranian oil for export.
Overall, this policy worked well enough in securing its objectives.
Despite the ups and downs in U.S.-Russia relations since the early 2000s, Russia has not interfered with either pipeline. Some proposed projects — like a cross-Caspian gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan — the Russians jammed hard at the scrimmage line, but otherwise tolerated or participated in the oil pipeline projects described above.
Background aside, the attack is unlikely to drive a wedge between Trump and Putin. First, the attack damaged a lone pumping station. Oil flows are being rerouted at reduced levels. Reported estimates are two months to repair the pumping station. All of which means the attack did not deal a decisive blow to Russian oil exports via the CPC pipeline.
Second, Trump is determined to rebuild trust with Putin ASAP, so quiet U.S. revelations about the culprits behind these attacks might happen. If the Agency is involved, Trump may impose some long overdue restrictions on its Ukrainian operations, which will irritate Langley.
If a foreign intelligence agency engineered the attack (we see you MI6), well, if I were PM Starmer I would worry that PDJT might drop the proverbial dime to the Russians.
The greatest effect of the attack against the CPC, however, is likely to be a chilling effect on foreign companies interested in returning to Russia. That outcome likely was not the chief intention here, but MNCs have low tolerance for instability absent security guarantees.

Zelenskyy is illegitimate and is being treated as such. President Putin accurately stated that fact. President Trump knows that is true. That is why the peace plan requires new elections in Ukraine, which by the way is the right thing to do by the Ukrainian people.
The danger comes from those who control Zelenskyy. “They” are becoming increasingly desperate to cover their crimes against humanity. This is the number one fear they have of President Trump. That is why the positive relationship between President Trump and President Putin is of extraordinary importance.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday that Ukraine will “not recognize” upcoming talks between the US and Russia and denied that his country was invited to participate.
“Ukraine will not accept. Ukraine knew nothing about this. And Ukraine regards any negotiations about Ukraine without Ukraine as having no results,” Zelensky told reporters while visiting the UAE.
The Kremlin has confirmed the peace talks with the US will be held in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The negotiations will involve high-level Russian and American officials, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Zelensky denied claims from US officials that Ukraine was invited. “Ukraine will not take part in the negotiations. Ukraine did not know they were planned. And the visit to the region was planned long before the US decided to meet Russia there,” he said.

While I can agree with the sentiment, I cannot agree that a third option does not exist.
When there is a deep division between two polarized sides, there is always a third option. Both sides are clamoring that one is either with them, or against them. The true path forward is always somewhere between the two, and is not always easily apparent.
Sometimes, that third way, when it is revealed, is at once easily rejected as unpractical or unrealistic, but time will demonstrate that third way is indeed the better way forward.
America is divided between MAGA and the deep state oligarchs (and their mercenaries). Ukraine is pitted between the Deep State (that divides America and is the de facto overlord of western Europe) and Russia under Putin.
In this morass, the third, best path forward will reveal itself.

I agree 100%. I live in a blue state and the liberal democrats I work with never read the news. The exclusively watch CNN, but just long enough to hear the talking points and never think about what they heard with any degree of common sense. During COVID they repeated every phrase, two-week to slow the curve, 6 feet of social distance, save grandmas life wear a mask. But didn’t question why all the box chain stores were open or why you had to wear a mask to get to a restaurant table, but were safe to take it off as soon as you got to the table.

He had his wife with him in the UAE and it is thought that she plans to start a company or invest in a company there.
