The tone of the Washington Post article is about Musk and DOGE potentially violating privacy rules by extracting data held within the U.S. Dept of Education. However, if you take out the narrative engineering political part, what you are left with is the core issue we have discussed. The tech team approach is to pull the govt data into their AI model and use the modeling to evaluate efficiency.

I’m sure there is some value in this process. In fact, I am certain that utilization of enhanced algorithmic AI software to streamline government data systems does hold merit. However, that’s not the big picture issue that concerns CTH. {GO DEEP}
Time is short, so rather than continue repeating the previous background, let me cut to the chase.
Everything we see unfolding, from the Tech Bro alignment with Trump, to the network of influence after the election, to the selection and advisement of specific individuals to join the administration, all the way to the first-round expose’ of USAID, should be looked upon with a background forecast.
(1) gaining access to govt data was the goal; (2) monetizing the system with proprietary AI contracts (vis-a-vis Palantir) is the benefit; (3) however, a national security justified surveillance state is going to be the outcome.
As people are shocked at the USAID spending scandal unfolding, I would posit the USAID silo was chosen first for DOGE exploration specifically because the subsequent outrage would gain the highest amount of public support for the pending solution. It’s the pending solution to the crisis that we should be very focused on.
The USAID/CIA bad stuff was well known, just not to the larger public. DOGE provided the receipts, which engages the larger public.

The streamlining and downsizing of government through the use of AI systems is a good thing, perhaps a very good thing. However, watch out for deployment into the DHS apparatus because that will give rise to the newly expanded Surveillance State.

If you want to see how much money USAID paid to Politico, you don’t need fancy tools. You get a database or spreadsheet with USAID’s outgoing payment data. Then you search for payments to Politico. The very name of Politico is probably located in a text field in the payment data. If not, you probably have Politico’s bank account number in that payment data.

An IBM x-series mainframe is the most secure IT ‘container’ available. The COBOL operating environment is probably the most stable, most secure, least hackable in existence.
Compare and contrast with current industry standard web / database servers (especially Bill Gates’ Windows / Internet Information Server), which are regularly compromised – sensitive data exported / stolen without any hint of something wrong.

I read that article when GWP put it up. Yes Trump has a way, he utilizes what we already have to make it better. And the leftists are too stupid to realize what he did and accuse him of bing a dictator.
Proper use of any tool requires discipline. You may think a sledgehammer doesn’t require discipline, for instance. If you believe that, I’d suggest swinging one haphazardly while your wife or young kid are standing close by.
Anyway, in this case we are discussing, discipline implies a moral compass.
Given that the whole place is overrun with evil people lacking said moral compass, the real question is how can we achieve the discipline of a moral compass. If we let 14,000 USAID employees loose with a butter knife, they could and probably would wreak some serious havoc. So my point is that the tool is somewhat irrelevant.
How does a society once again achieve the discipline of a moral compass? Either a sincere revival and turning to Jesus — which we could agree ain’t likely to happen with this crowd. Or to punish the leadership (including “oversight committees”) several layers deep (and I’m fine with quite a depth) such that the remaining few sit back and think — for the rest of their natural lives — “I ain’t doing nothing wrong ever again.”
It worked when Mama and Daddy did it. Many of us saw our brothers or cousins get whooped with a belt, and we got the point quite readily. And that was over small stuff. This is big.
Tie some of this activity to treason, and carry out the recommended sentence. Ms. Bondi has officially notified us that the old-style punishment is once again available.
Use it. Publicize it. Scare the absolute hell out these people. Let them have their own personal revival, and if they can’t do that, line ’em up.
These people were given participation trophies and have never paid a price for anything in their whole life. And we wonder why they think the way they do. They don’t operate under the same value system that most of us do.

I’m in a post-graduate AI and Machine Learning program. I think there is a place for “AI” (it’s a broad category) to be really helpful.
A LLM (large language model) fine tuned (trained for a special subcategory) in legalese can instantly find the BS in these large “you must read it to see what’s in it bill”. In minutes, compared to weeks of many lawyers reading the book, we’d know what to attack. You could probably train it to run scenarios on the spending and get a rough idea of it really will do what is says.

… that are then “trained” on training data sets to determine all the “C” coefficients from past behavior or history
… and where C is not simply coefficients but also diversions down further branches of the programming tree
… that’s the “self-learning” aspect

I believe the concerns about AI. I also know that AI programs are still “buggy”. And I guess I fall into the trap Sundance exposes in this article of wanting results and not looking down the road at where we’re going. I know there has been talk of cutting the Federal government in half. Or more. Realistically, just cut a fourth or a third and make it permanent. Then let’s have a big fight over government surveillance.
One thing that puzzles me is that none of these recent USAID revelations seem to originate from DOGE. The figures, tables, and charts don’t come from DOGE reports, nor do they bear its letterhead or attribution. Instead, they appear to be uncovered by a scattered group of individuals who all coincidentally began analyzing publicly available databases at the same time. It’s quite strange. Additionally, the sudden emergence of this obvious psy-op “Mike Benz”, who started raising alarms about USAID last year, seems almost too well-timed. I suspect there’s more to this than meets the eye.
