The tone of the Washington Post article is about Musk and DOGE potentially violating privacy rules by extracting data held within the U.S. Dept of Education. However, if you take out the narrative engineering political part, what you are left with is the core issue we have discussed. The tech team approach is to pull the govt data into their AI model and use the modeling to evaluate efficiency.

I’m sure there is some value in this process. In fact, I am certain that utilization of enhanced algorithmic AI software to streamline government data systems does hold merit. However, that’s not the big picture issue that concerns CTH. {GO DEEP}
Time is short, so rather than continue repeating the previous background, let me cut to the chase.
Everything we see unfolding, from the Tech Bro alignment with Trump, to the network of influence after the election, to the selection and advisement of specific individuals to join the administration, all the way to the first-round expose’ of USAID, should be looked upon with a background forecast.
(1) gaining access to govt data was the goal; (2) monetizing the system with proprietary AI contracts (vis-a-vis Palantir) is the benefit; (3) however, a national security justified surveillance state is going to be the outcome.
As people are shocked at the USAID spending scandal unfolding, I would posit the USAID silo was chosen first for DOGE exploration specifically because the subsequent outrage would gain the highest amount of public support for the pending solution. It’s the pending solution to the crisis that we should be very focused on.
The USAID/CIA bad stuff was well known, just not to the larger public. DOGE provided the receipts, which engages the larger public.

Together with the artwork, it paints AI as the hero against the evil deep state. The fact that we all agree that the US Gov’t has been corrupted and hijacked and in need of dissolution is being used to sell us on the need for AI as our hero.

I think that the ongoing efforts of programmers using AI, which is nothing but applied math on souped up computers, have put the rest that AI is killing programming jobs. AI has changed the nature of programming, however, it will not be eliminate them at all. In fact, the programming tasks will increase because the ne can do new things, as shown in this article.
I think back to the days just AFTER 9/11, when DHS was first created and the Patriot Act was first proposed. Your journey of awakening closely mirrors my own, except that I was vehemently opposed to the invasion of Iraq right from the jump. That was a watershed moment for me, & everything that happened after that only confirmed it.
My awakening was horror at the xray machines at the airports; there is a risk/benefit ratio in utilizing radiation, and jeopardizing the health of millions when other options were available appalled me. Sigh. But too few protested, too few….
And when I found out Michael Chertoff was in charge of a new bureaucracy (Department of Homeland Security— isn’t that the Department of Defense’s really only job — homeland security???) and that he had a major financial stake in the soon-to-be ubiquitous machines, well, it all made sad sense.

So just put the genie back in the box bc of potential infringement on our future privacy is the message I’m getting. So frustrating.

This has been my concern since this whole process began.
I have a problem with suggesting that Trump is part of a plan to bring in the surveillance state and connecting us to AI in a way that controls us with and through digital currency, etc. He has said that he would NOT do that.
Is there something that someone can point to that Trump has said that he has not done, or has mislead us and took us the wrong way on?
There may be some things he said that has not occurred yet… but that does not mean they will not.
This story points to Trump being and going along with something that he has claimed he would not do.
Could he? Is it possible he is part of this reset some speak of that is coming no matter who are the leaders of the world?
And if this is true……than that means he pulled the biggest wool over all our eyes if so. And what was the alternative? THEM? Their Nazi tactics and evil immoral rot? We had two choices…..one was obviously not right!
I’m sorry. I’m sticking with Trump and his team until he shows me he lied and mislead me. So far…..all he has said and done I back and am with. I do not want that digital garbage…none of us do and he said…it was not going to happen. I believe him….and I voted for him because I do! I think he will use AI to its benefit for what he sees….but will not allow it to control the people!
We live in a dualistic world. Everything has two sides or its opposite. You do not have good…without the evil. You do not have black….without white…..you do not have yes…..with no’s….what goes up…..comes down. Even with the Internet….you have the good with it and the bad. Technology is great….and yet it’s terrible!
So…..just as your body and mind can be used for good or evil…..you make that choice through your free will. So who the one is behind making that choice……is important…especially with this AI stuff.
Heck…..everybody wonders about who might use AI against us in some way….but the real horror would be if AI were to advance to the point that we could no longer control it…and IT chooses to control us!!!

A lot of government waste is in efficient workflow. On paper, it looks efficient and clever. On fact somebody in the SES may have gotten a hefty award for thinking of it. But government is keen on taking a simple task, comicTing it, then creating a fiefdom to oversee it.
Let me give you a single example (of hundreds) from my years with US Customs/CBP.
Typically people involved in import/export would call a nearby port of entry with their question. These are customhouse brokers, freight forwarders, trucking companies, importers, exporters, bonded warehouses, foreign trade zonesetc. The cargo officeI supervised routinely fielded these questions. A few required research. Customs laws date to the beginning of our nation and the accompanying regulations can be difficult to interpret.
HQ devised a Center of Excellence and Expertise to handle these inquiries. They staffed it with people they thought were, well, experts. Mostly newly hired college grads, I heard. I guess the officers that had handled them for years were just nit excellent.
After this, the questions we got were not from the importers/exporters, but from, you guessed it, the Center of Excellence and Expertise.
I certainly understand the fears and share them; the existential difference is, whether the controllers of the system are genocidal towards Western civilization and Caucasian peoples or not. We’ve got to get ahead of this thing and control it for our people’s benefit, rather than give it straight away to the enemy.

There is no way that Trump can level the house and escape alive…..as we’ve seen, assassination is a very potent weapon that remains in the Deep State’s quiver, and my question is will there be (or is there already) a deal between the Deep State and the WH to allow for some significant (but superficial) house cleaning while erecting a “Potemkin village”of silos that will camouflage their continued existence? Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation was a little suspicious to me since it felt like a compromise was struck between the WH and the silo “owners” as well as only nominal theatrics on the Senate floor before confirmation.
The purpose of the Church Committee wasn’t to neuter the intelligence agencies so much as it was to “rein” them in for the public’s “benefit” while allowing business as usual to continue. Remember, the feds purpose in enacting FOIA laws wasn’t to be transparent so much as it was to codify ways to legally keep embarrassing documentation out of the public’s hands.

I believe it is clear that President Trump is our Gray Champion for surviving this Fourth Turning. We have no other. We elected him. I think that we must trust and support him, while keeping our eyes open. Perhaps one thing we could usefully do is use the channels we have to make him aware of the dangers Sundance points out concerning giving government data to AI. If the danger is as Sundance fears, I hope the Treeper community can crowd-source ideas for how to counter it in our personal lives.

I think your reservation is warranted. And I think the veiled hints about AI in our host’s column may encourage that thinking.
But right now, Musk is not using “AI Software” (as the terrified WaPo asserts) to push this campaign across the bureaucratic empire.
From everything I have read, the teams are using a handful of extremely brilliant technicians, who know how to build and deploy very sophisticated algorithms to quickly rout the bureaucratic ‘black box’ networks.
Traditional algorithms, much along the same technological foundations that computer programmers have relied on for over half a century.
That is not the same as AI, which involves fundamental breakthroughs in both programming and hardware. The DOGE team isn’t rolling in a panel truck of Nvidia chips to pull this off. They are doing it with common laptops, and brilliant code.
Consider what the DOGE Boys are doing as setting off the first atomic cyber bombs in that enemy capitol. Tools (or weapons depending on your view) that have never been deployed there before.
And so far, just like the first use of the real atomic bomb in 1945, the results have been spectacular and quick. Because we have never seen the technology used before quite like this in these places.
But the future is going to involve AI, much as the future of atomic energy escalated to thermonuclear technologies.
And that is a massive quantum leap over what we are watching with glee over at Treasury and USAID and the other imperial silos this past week.
I’m OK with what DOGE is doing, and the tools they are using to do it. It’s not AI.
The AI conversation is a vastly more ethical one that humanity needs to have.
My thoughts…the rapid fire signing of some EO’s to make a large number of people happy, had a purpose, no? An open appearance of getting things done and being responsive.
On a positive side, this technology can also be used for cleaning up the voter rolls?

AI is an interesting thing.
The speed that is is advancing and will continue advancing will make for interesting times over the next year, 2 years, 5 years, decades.
Like any advancements or tools, they can be used for good and for bad. I’m personally hopeful and excited to be living during this time.
I’m also glad that this initial use/leverage is being used by Trump’s team instead of the graft side of the uniparty. But im not niave enough to think the other side won’t also weaponize AI for their power against we, the people.

I sincerely doubt Congress will act on shining the light on their own complicity and corruption. Laws are already on the books regarding everything that is being revealed. More laws are not the answer. Enforcing current law will go a long way toward restoring this constitutional republic.
The problem is laid out before us. The only solution is the Milton Friedman solution: cut most of the government. Focus the remaining snooping silos outward no NGO can provide government information without a search warrant, and any inward use by government needs a regular search warrant not a fake FISA warrant. If the staffing levels are corrected, there will not be time or assets to start mischief.
FBI used 5000 of its people to investigate J6. That 5000 can be cut from the workforce. The noose investigative people can go. The Mar a Lago crew can go. The Weiner Laptop crew, the Seth Rich crew, the Awan brothers crew, the crew that marched in BLM with masks and khaki pants, the gymnast crew all can be eliminated.
It would be easier and cleaner to get rid of them all and start over.

A small example. I received an egregiously long “intake form” in advance of an online consult tomorrow with a naturopath. I was previously her patient until she moved to a different medical facility. This new medical facility wants to know every little thing about my lifelong medical history, far more than the prior facility ever required.
In every box I typed “Decline to answer” or “Not pertinent to purpose of the scheduled consult” or “Irrelevant.”
When asked if they might share my info with others, “Absolutely not.”
