While President Trump was signing executive orders, the Senate voted 99-0 to confirm Marco Rubio as Secretary of State. Not a single senator voted against Rubio.
Today, Vice-President JD Vance conducted the swearing-in ceremony, thereby immediately putting Secretary of State Marco Rubio officially into place. Rubio becomes the first cabinet member to achieve Senate confirmation. WATCH:

I’ve been weakly acquainted with Rubio since shortly after he started running around at UF politicking Florida Blue Key after transferring in from Santa Fe Community College, then doing stepnfetchit during law school in Miami for Ileana Ross Lehtinen/Jeb Bush.
My take always has been that he’s not particularly ideological, but he’s reasonably bright, learns what he needs to, and sure is a good talker. He’s very ambitious, and he seems to strive at pleasing whoever and whatever will further those ambitions. I do think he’s a number of years now past being under the thumb of the Bush machine, and if carrying water for the Trump agenda and getting credit for successes that way will serve his personal goals, then I think that’s what he will do.
He is no immediate threat to Trump of MAGA, but if Vance or DeSantis or others have designs on running in 2028, that’s who and what may have or create issues vis a vis Rubio. We will have to watch how the power-broking alliances form behind the guys who want to run in 2028, and what they want in return for their support. (Ugh. Thinking about 2028 on the second day of the new Trump administration. Politics is disgusting, isn’t it.)

There’s no chance anyone could take the nomination away from JD Vance.
Time will tell, but no one could at the moment. I have great hopes for VP Vance, though. If he’s the man he seems to be, he might well be a worthy successor to President Trump.
Upvoted for your last sentence.
Now that his senate position has been replaced, it’s time to send little Marco into the PRIVATE sector.
Aren’t most Politicians already on Private payrolls? Sometimes their checks remain uncashed for 4 years.
Deep State shrills pass right on through.
Name change. Deep Stench.
Hard to see sometimes. But hard not to miss the smell.
Really bad idea of Rubio as Secretary of State.
The State Department, CIA, Pentagon and a multitude of NGOs are what drive and operate our failed foreign policy od endless aggression and wars globally.
You’ll know if he’s in deep if the FBI doesn’t ask to come over for a little chat.
I am actually glad for him, because I think he’s reached the highest position he can attain.
Another demonstration of the genius “Rope a dope” strategy employed by PDJT for this, and other recent seemingly questionable nominations / appointments. First…Remove certain individuals from positions where they can seriously undermine and damage his Administration. (In little stacked heels, duplicitous Rubio’s case; removed from the SCCI.) Next…place them (on a VERY short leash) in positions where they can be used as bait and also meticulously monitored. And whereby most importantly, they can then be eliminated (without recourse) in the blink of an eye. PDJT is ALWAYS ten steps ahead.
Good analysis.
No carping, no second-guessing…Let’s support Rubio. He is a good man, trying to serve his country. Being a cynic about this serves no purpose. We are standing on the shoreline witnessing a NEW sunrise.
Has the FBI raided Biden’s private home yet?
I think the sun is in your eyes.
How many of your friends have been bankrupted by legal fees to pay for the Criminal DOJ fake charges?
Sorry, not yet losing my cynicism.
This article is written for Marco Rubio, what not to do….I laughed that it was posted in a foreign news site, the Middle East forum.
Perhaps Pam Bondi should look into this:
“His brief period out of government began during the Trump administration, when, from 2017 to 2019, he was the managing director of the Penn Biden Center — the very site where classified documents were discovered in 2022. During Blinken’s years helming the Biden Center, contributions from China tripled from $24 million to $77 million. Given the Bidens’ propensity for enriching themselves through the generosity of the Chinese Communist Party, it’s fair to wonder if that’s where some of Blinken’s $10 million net worth came from.”

Ah ha !
The above picture. Proof positive about how tiny Rubio’s hands really are.
Phew.
It’s going to be difficult to get used to a Vice President who doesn’t cackle with laughter & offer up meaningless word salads. 🙂
