Truth Social – “January 20th cannot come fast enough! Everybody, even those that initially opposed a Victory by President Donald J. Trump and the Trump Administration, just want it to happen. It is my obligation to protect the People of our Country but, before we even begin, we have to think of the Inauguration itself.
The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows. There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way. It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!).
Therefore, I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather. The various Dignitaries and Guests will be brought into the Capitol. This will be a very beautiful experience for all, and especially for the large TV audience!
We will open Capital One Arena on Monday for LIVE viewing of this Historic event, and to host the Presidential Parade. I will join the crowd at Capital One, after my Swearing In.
All other events will remain the same, including the Victory Rally at Capital One Arena, on Sunday at 3 P.M. (Doors open at 1 P.M.—Please arrive early!), and all three Inaugural Balls on Monday evening.

We are not privy to, nor should we speculate about, the security threat matrix that President Trump is now facing. Suffice to say, having survived two assassination attempts and with the overwhelming concern of the American electorate already visible online, I strongly doubt anyone is disappointed with this decision.

WASHINGTON DC – Donald Trump and JD Vance will be sworn in to office inside the Capitol Rotunda on Monday — instead of outside the Capitol — as Washington, D.C. braces for dangerously cold temperatures, the president-elect posted on Truth Social.
The entire inauguration ceremony, including prayers and speeches, will move indoors. The last time cold weather scuttled the outdoor inauguration ceremony was in 1985 when Ronald Reagan was sworn into his second term. James Monroe’s second inauguration was also held inside the Capitol, in the House chamber, because of a snowstorm.

My husband and I were planning on going, we’d already rented an SUV, reserved a hotel room and planned our trip on the Metro Red line into D.C.
Then my husband got sick, and the illness held on and just let go a few days ago. But that illness, that eventually passed to me, made him (and me) very, very tired. The thought of 4 long days of driving (there and back) was too much for these two old people, so we dropped out.
We had 10 tickets altogether, and while we were well gathered a group to go with us. I was able to switch the vehicle reservation to someone in our group, and I cancelled the hotel, since they wanted to stay at the casino south of D.C. instead.
This morning I got an email from one of the people from our group saying they’d just left and were on their way to the inauguration. A couple hours later my husband tells me the inauguration was moved inside, and that for people traveling to D.C. the event was essentially cancelled. He wanted to call our friends and tell them to turn around and come home.
I told him they wouldn’t, but he was sure they would, so he called.
Before he got the news out he could hear them tell him that the inauguration had been moved indoors. He then asked if they were coming home and they said, “NO.” I laughed and yelled across the room, ‘Good for you!’
One of the people on that trip is a friend I’ve written about on here a few times. She’s a woman who was raised in Northern Ireland during the terrible fighting. She almost lost her life to a bomb on the street, and that was when she decided to move to America and become an American.
She spent years applying to become a citizen, was interviewed by the feds many times, and in the end had to have $44,000 in a U.S. bank in order for them to approve her entry into the country.
She loves the United States.
She worked like a dog over many years to help get Donald Trump elected, and that included the last 1 1/2 years while she has been fighting multiple myeloma. When I asked if she’d like to attend the inauguration with us she started to cry.
Irish will be in D.C. tomorrow, and Sunday, and Monday, and any chance they may have to see our President she will be there.
In a sane world all exits would be monitored by the good guys as soon as over so no escapees.

Hundred percent agree! I was relieved when I heard of this decision. I have little confidence in those charged with protecting him. I immediately suspected weather was only a secondary explanation for what is a good decision.

It has to do with the current MOU’S signed by the departments. According to the Daily Caller, the MD State Police will be assisting the Capitol Police, but not the Metro Police. It seems most departments don’t want to work with the Metro Police.
Maybe Wethal (or any other legal beagle) can step in here and clarify.

Well, putting the MOU’S aside, under the current leadership in DC working with the Metro Police might not be a pleasant experience.

But there is a ceremony, there will be crowds. The parade will be moved to Capital One Arena, and attendees also are being invited to watch the swearing-in ceremony from there. swearing-in ceremony will be moved indoors.Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance instead will be sworn in at the Capitol Rotunda, where prayers and other speeches will take place.

My husband and I arrived in D.C. yesterday. Pres Trump’s Victory Rally on Sunday and coverage of the Inauguration and Parade are being held at the Capital One Arena for his supporters to attend. I’ve read that PDJT will even appear at the Arena after the Inauguration. We plan to be at the Capital One Arena on both Sunday and Monday. God bless PDJT and his family!!!

2-3 years ago, had one of those blatantly lie and then tried to take my money. Did my due diligence and let them know that this would not be a prudent decision on their part and it was not about $$, but principle, and I was prepared to pay them a visit. If you read the article, the headline is misleading. A few paragraphs down it says, “The reason they, (local police agencies), will not help is unclear, but it may stem from internal disputes over Metro PD’s use-of-force policy. DC police agreed in a lawsuit settlement to restrict the use of sting balls or explosive devices on protestors and rioters.”
So while the headline implies that Trump’s inauguration is the reason police won’t be helping with security, Conradson says in the piece that he doesn’t know why local police won’t be participating, then speculates it had nothing to do with Trump.
The DC police will be involved, but some of the suburban forces in MD and VA declined. Because they don’t want to work with the DC force, not because of it being Trump’s inauguration.
Local VA and MD police are refusing because of the Washington DC use of force policy on police.
I don’t blame them for not wanting to spend the rest of their life in federal prison or be sued for millions of dollars.
I guess they know how bad DC really is!

There are over 4,000 police officers who have volunteered to help the DC Metro Police and will be there in addition to National Guard and Fed LE assets. The several nearby counties in Maryland will not assist supposedly due to a change in UOF policy by DC that prohibits the cops from utilizing some options if a riot occurs.
Read the fine print on this one. The spin is often the most outrageous.
