There were three Senate committee confirmation hearings scheduled for today, two of them have been cancelled due to the FBI not providing the committees with background reports. Considering the way DC operates, and considering the Senate operators wanted to totally focus on Pete Hegseth as their first scalp, the clearing of the decks to focus exclusively on Hegseth is not coincidental.

Not really. With these antics, the Senate Democrats are playing to their true blue Democratic Party base, a base comprising millions of people who thoroughly despise the MAGA movement and everything it stands for. These people are watching us as much or more as we are watching them.

I’d give my vote up in a heartbeat if we could stop the moonbats from voting. With that said, the men in my family vote as I see fit, but only because they know I research and keep up with the political landscape and always have due to my blessed father teaching and leading me to do so.
I am, and always have been, appalled at how the average woman thinks and votes. Reason has no bearing on most of their thought processes as displayed so aptly during today’s hearing. It was shameful to me to watch this morning as a woman.
Though it appears to influence women more than men, there has been in general a dramatic shift in evaluating leaders over the past four score years. As Stephen Covey noted in his mega-best-selling 7 Habits book, leaders were once chosen based on their character but as of late, the primary metric is personality.
Thus, the skill to get elected (likeability and charisma) became even more important and the skills to do the job, competence and integrity less so. Perhaps the first inkling of this was the Nixon-Kennedy debate. The first to be televised–those who watched the debate said Kennedy won while those who listened to the debate on the radio said Nixon won.
There has to be a blend of skills, but it must begin with character. In terms of resume, Hegseth is marginally qualified for Sec Def. That said, look at the sterling resumes of those 51 government officials who said the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. They all sold their souls. Integrity and loyalty to our country must be at the top and we, the people, must demand it in our leaders.
