A massive California wildfire is consuming some of the most valuable property around Los Angeles. The Pacific Palisades fire is expanding rapidly due to high winds and dry conditions. Making matters worse, firefighters are having a problem with water shortages to fight the fire due to California environmental standards.
An ariel shot shows the extent of the fire last night, and the situation is rapidly worsening. Firefighters are now focused on rescue efforts.
CALIFORNIA – A state of emergency has been declared in Los Angeles after a huge wildfire swept through hillsides dotted with celebrity homes.
The fire forced the evacuation of 30,000 people, some of whom abandoned their cars and fled on foot to safety.
Nearly 3,000 acres of the Pacific Palisades area between the coastal towns of Santa Monica and Malibu had burned by the Palisades Fire, officials said. Fire officials said that several people were injured, some with burns to faces and hands.
A second blaze dubbed the Eaton Fire broke out some 30 miles inland near Pasadena and doubled in size to 400 acres in a few hours, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.
California Governor Gavin Newsom, who was in Southern California to attend the naming of a national monument by US President Joe Biden, made a detour to the area to see “first hand the impact of these swirling winds and the embers”.
[…] Witnesses reported a number of homes on fire with flames nearly scorching their cars when people fled the hills of Topanga Canyon, as the fire spread from there down to the Pacific Ocean.
Firefighters in aircraft scooped water from the sea to drop it on the nearby flames. Flames engulfed homes and bulldozers cleared abandoned vehicles from roads so emergency vehicles could pass.
The fire burned some trees on the grounds of the Getty Villa, a museum loaded with priceless works of art, but the collection remained safe, the museum said.
Before the fire started, the National Weather Service had issued its highest alert for extreme fire conditions for much of Los Angeles County from Tuesday through Thursday, predicting wind gusts of 50 to 80 mph.
[…] Actor Steve Guttenberg told a local television station that friends of his were impeded from evacuating because others had abandoned their cars in the road.
“It’s really important for everybody to band together and don’t worry about your personal property. Just get out,” Guttenberg said. “Get your loved ones and get out. (read more)

“water shortage” from environmental policies, Good and harder……
Prayers for the firefighters, EMTs, cops, and residents.
Pray for rain …. and after it’s over there should be an inquest into why water pressure to fire hydrants was nil.
Terrible stewardship by L.A. County and L.A. City leaders.
We should be starting to pay for imigration terrorism right about now.
Not sure if this has been confirmed by officials, but it was reported on social media that the fire destroyed water pumps, so that is part of the issue why there was no water pressure for fire hoses in the Palisades fire last night.
Wildfires in CA are not unusual. Southern CA is essentially a desert, very dry, little rain. Combine this with Santa Anna winds and there is your recipe for disaster.
The Wildland Urban Interface Code Was developed 20 years ago. It details construction methods by which buildings can be designed and built to withstand fires. Part of it is vegetation management.
These are proven methods, developed in the San Diego area, where entire subdivisions built appropriately have survived such fires.
Large areas of So Cal need to be declared very high fire severity zones and buildings need to be built, maintained and protected accordingly.
It would be nice if they would also manage the forest. Remember when all the libs laughed at President Trump when he said they needed to have controlled burns and forest floor underbrush cleaned up?
Having bone dry fire hydrants is criminal regardless of building codes.
Agreed. Lack of water is a problem when living in an extremely dry environment. Water has always been a problem in CA. Jack Nicholson in Chinatown. Not sure why CA doesn’t look at desalination. The Saudis use it. Boats use it.
Very poor leadership
We lived in Orange County for 10 years in the 1980’s. The Santa Anna winds are terrifying when there are fires. We also were required every year to manage the vegetation on a long slope behind our house and for those of us with shake roofs as compared to tile were more vulnerable to embers.
I will also never forget when Mt. St. Helen’s erupted. Our cars were covered in ash.
Praying for all in this horrifying path.
Recall the annual fires in Central Washington, some so bad the ash drifted over to Seattle and the coastline. You could stand on the sidewalk in downtown Seattle and get ash in your hair.
Fifty years ago there was a massive fire that burned all the way from the valley to the ocean in that area. How did this start, I wonder? It took off so fast. Not like the firefighters in California aren’t prepared to fight wildfires.
The Santa Ana winds are amazing on their own; the force to go against the jet stream going from east to west, amazing phenomena. When it sweeps the smog out to sea it’s quite useful.
Nature/God made occurrences used for nefarious outcomes is a disgrace.
California idiotic policies, protecting the environment, one fire at a time.
James Woods agrees with you. He replied to some climate crazy.
This fire is not from “climate change,” you ignorant asshole. It’s because liberal idiots like you elect liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass. One doesn’t understand the first thing about fire management and the other can’t fill the water reservoirs.
**********
The irony of James Woods, known for his skepticism about climate change, losing his home to the very wildfires linked to climate change impacts in California, is striking.
Irony?!? What a nasty comment.
Apt name for the commenter.
James woods is a lesson on judgment. Coexist, tolerance, strength through diversity, is exactly the butterfly effect on steroids. James has held the line and lost a career now his home how, why? Because no matter your beliefs and ideas if you hang around liberals you will receive their same lunatic results.
Without tolerance, diversity, inclusion, DEI lies liberals can’t survive, it’s why it’s preached and pushed so hard by them. It’s the oxygen that allows them life, judge them as we should, “lunatics” and this is not going to happen. Drugs, homelessness, invaders, school shootings, terrorism, these fires, and later the floods and mud, lack of water, blackouts, all from a lack of judgement.
“judge not lest you be judged.” Ok, I sweep my floors, I clean my house, I lock my windows doors, I keep my yard clean, I do not leave food or crumbs I clean them, I wash my clothes, I don’t leave clutter and if necessary I use mouse traps and exterminators to keep out bugs and varmints. Yes, I judge the neighbors who allow the opposite and have roaches, rats, filth and are sick from all sorts of diseases and parasites, then spread it. I don’t want them around me. Just like democrats, liberals, the tolerant bunch, or the rapist, transvestite, murder, gang member, I judge them with extremely strict beliefs.
These people have the same opportunities just pull the plug on this insane idea that lack of reason is compassion, it’s not. Society is like minds or not, heaven is not all inclusive.
If you leave a place due to too many liberals, they will follow you once they have fouled their own nest, and ruin the new place as well.
Wow, it looks like hell.
A few years ago when OR was burning, some of the fires were intentionally set and then it turns into the perfect storm. Poor management of the environment because of liberal weenie policies, weather and boom, everything burns. Up here we have plenty of water but the size and scope was immense.
There though is a dense population. Here it was sparse.
With insurers canceling policies? Is that true?
This tale is not going away. I feel for the good people.
The mayor in Ghana? Now that is interesting.
Like a cyber truck with fireworks that burns everything but an id.
Strange times.
Bass should stay in Ghana
A way out there conspiracy theory. You know the P. Diddy stuff is bad when this is considered the best alternative.
It is an unfortunate truth that Los Angeles is situated in a desert, and is surrounded by forests which can become dangerously dry. In other words, “a tinderbox.” But, even though these horrors have happened in this city many times before, California refuses for various “environmental reasons” to take pro-active management steps to remove excess fuel. In other parts of the country, and even though wildfires can and do occur anywhere, these steps are routinely taken.
Los Angeles is situated in a desert, and is surrounded by forests >>> does not compute!!
Greater LA is situated in a desert which is surrounded by mountains that have forests.
To name a few:
Santa Susana Mtns
Santa Ana Mtns
San Rafael Hills
Tehachapi Mtns
San Bernardino Mtns
San Jacinto Mtns
San Gabriel Mtns
A lot of snow falls onto many of these mountain ranges but there is little effort to store that water.
If CA had not allowed millions of illegals to set up shop in LA then they would not be in this predicament. They displaced citizens with illegals causing the citizens to flee from LA proper and move southward, northward, and eastward.
Over the last few years, Newsom has authorized the demolition of over 100 dams that impounded water.
Much of California is >dry in the summer, with torrential rains occurring in the Wintertime. In many places in California, the grass on the hillsides is brown in the summer. The natural grass turns green at the end of winter and during the springtime.
Los Angeles >county has mountains that regularly receive snowfall in the wintertime. … [Not directed towards you.] … I’ve talked to people that think Southern California is all ocean and surfboards.]
Hanuman: Visit the area and you will see for yourself. It does sound counter-intuitive, but all the steep hillsides and canyons make the elevated areas of LA a giant chimney. The surrounding National Forest lands are covered with chaparal and, at higher elevations, tall pine trees.
From a PNW perspective, those are not real “forests”. You look right behind the signs that say “such and so national forest” and you don’t see real trees, you see at the most 10-15 foot tall overgrown scrub bushes with thicker trunks. Really, the whole place is desert, all the way down to the beach.
Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead mountains have ski areas, get heavy snows, and have Jeffrey Pine trees that grown to over 150 feet tall.
That may not be as impressive as the PNW but being able to travel from the beach ( bikini wearing surf beach not wear a jacket cliff beach) 1 1/2 hours and go skiing is pretty impressive. It makes for a fun day.
Haven’t 90% of the fires in CA been started by the human hand. Not lightening or natural causes?
View from the sky LA
Sad and horrible
the unfortunate part is the damage will be covered by insurance. i know this will sound a bit ugly, but just think how much better our lives and the world would be if the gentry areas of DC were consumed by fire. our antagonists would be proccupied with more personal matters for a while, maybe even long enough for us to gain some significant liberation.
Maybe not. Taxpayers might end up footing the bill. This is approaching “war or act of god” territory…
If it was intentional how does that compute; war?? under the guise of Act of God. Cunning is what I call it.
I live in San Diego. Some insurance companies are not writing policies in known fire hazard areas because it is too expensive for them. Can you imagine what the cost will be to rebuild in these areas?
Actor James woods is in record stating a major insurer cancelled his and many other’s plans FOUR months ago.
Whoa.
Prayers up for Mr. Woods and everyone else facing this destruction, pets too.
I know he has been tweeting. If anyone could link his tweets, that would be appreciated.

This is a link to James Woods’ X posts, on Nitter, for those who aren’t on X. He is posting a lot of information and images from the ground in Palisades.
TY
No problem.
Thank you, Alleyats.
You’re welcome.
Thanks for sharing link.
The video as he’s leaving his driveway, brought me to 😢. But glad he’s safe… such a brilliant mind.
I know, it was sad.
https://nitter.poast.org/realjameswoods
Thank you, MMW.
I would class action sue them for at least all the premiums I paid since insurance started.
Private Fire Insurance is nearly impossible to get if you live in canyon/mountain areas. The other choice is to go onto the CA FAIR Insurance and pay the state of CA $$$$$$$ for your fire insurance.
I think that it may also cover flood damage separately.
State Farm.
Insurers know what is coming. It isn’t man made climate change, its cyclical climate change. I stated on here two years that everyone would be marching north. USA is dying, Europe is freezing, and Africa is greening!
As it was in the beginning, so shall it be at the end.
The insurance industry pulled out a few years ago.
A very very rich population lives in those hills/Mountains that are burning; CA is going to the dogs and they want to relocate; just cause??
Prayers for the burn victims. And pets…
And everyone else there..
Yes, countless pets and other. wildlife animals , birds…..my heartbreaks for the poor animals.
Heartbroken Hollywood actor whose house burnt down in the Palisades fire compares devastation to ‘losing a loved one’ and reveals he has no insurance policy for charred property
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14262029/hollywood-actor-palisades-fire-house-burnt-devastation-insurance-policy.html
My heart hurts for him.
Such a devastating thing to go through.
God be with them.
I’ve never seen his neighborhood up close, but on the east side of I-5 there are some lovely home properties overlooked by the Santa Monicas. I can imagine how it would feel if I lost something like that.
It’s “just” property and material stuff, but I’m sure it can feel like your whole life went up in flames.
His material stuff would include memorabilia from his amazing career in Hollywood, back when American television and film were one of the wonders of the world.
As an actor and historian, he has to be sensitive and wounded in ways we cannot fathom.
It’s very sad. My parents lost their house to fire..my mother was killed..my dad survived. He was 83.He relocated to my neighborhood and started over..he gardened on his
balcony and never lost his positive outlook.
I feel so badly for him and everyone who is there and lost their home. Just a tragedy and still going on. Prayers being sent from everywhere I’m sure. I hope all the animals are with their owners and have gotten to safety as well. The wild ones probably mostly lost, poor babies.
Can someone explain why the vegetation seems untouched in yards where homes have burned to the ground?
I love James Woods. I pray he will be OK. I always hoped he would do a theater tour talking about his life, movies, politics.
Comment sections on the wildfire videos show that no matter how much geoengineering is censored in social media, more and m0re people understand what is happening.
We The People are under 5th generation warfare attacks on a continual basis. Even worse, we are under attack from the US Military, the NSA, DHS, FBI, the entire US Govt security state.
Remember that the only survivors from the Maui fire were the people who directly ignored what the police told them to do. They survived by running a police roadblock.
Geoengineering is treason.
My first thought, too.
This smells very Hawaiian….
Except TPTB don’t generally attack Ben Affleck and the Getty Museum.
Strange days indeed.
Check the covid vaccination rate for Hollywood. Those people have already been killed, even if many of them haven’t fallen over yet.
BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street have zero loyalties. Their thinking – They will own everything and you will be happy to rent from them, if your Social Credit Score is good enough.
*Anything* to further the climate change agenda? Useful idiots, take note!
First thing that crossed my mind.
As soon as the weather gal yesterday morning mentioned winds in that area could reach 100 mph my first thought was that someone was going to start a fire. And….the conditions were perfect for massive destruction.
You know they were just waiting for the right conditions.
investigative reporter:
The easier explanation is weather conditions, terrain and building codes. The Pacific Palisades area is almost always at risk and yesterday’s very hight winds and low humidity were truly a “perfect storm.”
I don’t look for easy explanations. Only truth.
Geoengineering.. HAARP.. weaponized weather experiments.. biowarfare.. ultrasonic warfare.. and to think we once assumed our gubmint and DOD would shield us from attack.
#Mass Formation
#Depopulation agenda
look like LexLuthor did not need nukes afterall
KTLA has been airing live coverage since late yesterday morning. God bless these response teams as they battle high winds with inadequate water supplies.
ktla.com
This is very cynical but my guess is FEMA will have lots of resources for the Democrats that live in Pacific Palisades while having next to nothing for the Republican hillbillies who lost everything during Hurricane Helene! Hopefully President Trump can get FEMA to help both groups of victims equally!? America First includes helping those citizens in need despite party affiliation ! JMO
I read in another comment section that this area where the fire is, is a red spot in the sea of blue that LA is.
James Woods lived here, so this seems true if it’s where he chose to live.
So it will be telling what sort of help they get there.
James Woods tweeted that their insurance was canceled a few months ago. Same thing is happening in Florida.
James Woods is reporting that insurance companies dropped fire insurance on homes 4 months ago.
https://www.infowars.com/posts/california-residents-sound-alarm-after-insurance-companies-removed-fire-protection-in-recent-months/
If true, they knew that something was planned.
How are houses with a blue roof doing?
’Hydrants are down…’
Just like in Maui.
People have got to start realizing that DEI and every other loony leftist political policy, at the very least, COSTS every taxpayer out of pocket for absolutely zero gain, at the very least, in the way of services. Most likely LESS quality of service since less attention is paid to actual qualifications of new hires. Shades of Sam Brinton, formerly of DoE.
And this…
https://nypost.com/2024/08/22/us-news/biden-admin-energy-hire-called-for-queering-nuclear-weapons-as-part-of-us-policy/
DEI hire Sneha Nair: “Queering nuclear weapons: How LGBTQ+ inclusion strengthens security and reshapes disarmament” — also laid bare her belief that discrimination against queer people could “undermine nuclear security and increase nuclear threat.”
Exactly! Let’s start looking at the taxpayer costs for the DEI hires. First, the cost of the disaster that is not prevented nor mitigated, then all of the lawsuits to the cities afterward. Case in point – the Ghost Ship fire in Oakland that killed over 30 people and was “The deadliest structure fire in the U.S. in more than a decade” per the Associated Press. The DEI fire chief, Teresa Deloach Reed, was the “first African American woman to lead the fire department of a major U.S. city.” The city of Oakland had to pay $33 million to settle civil lawsuits for victims. Reed was allowed to just go on leave to evade interviews and responsibilty for the fire, then retire with a pension over six figures to reward her incompetency and lack of leadership: “Deloach Reed became eligible to be vested in Oakland’s pension system. She stands to make 15 percent of her $241,000-a-year base pay, or $36,150 annually. She also receives a $127,000 annual pension from her 23 years with the San Jose Fire Department.”
Who the eff cares about the sexual preferences or identity of any EMT?
It appears precious taxpayer resources are being misallocated and squandered to advance an agenda that literally is irrelevant to the emergency needs of the people in the wildfire region.
My goodness, Californians. Your Republic must be saved from these Marxist freaks and perverts.
What they really care about is weakening/ collapsing our infrastructure by replacing merit-based hiring with DEI based hiring, under the guise of equity.
Even our education system has been watered down to the lowest denominator. NYS removed it’s writing requirements for SAT testing. Apparently it’s now racist to be educated.
Check your privilege (and cerebral cortex) at the door!
This right here is what my comment is about.
Fool.
Common theme…disasters and loss of life = DEI…
Exactly, see my comment above
Putting non heterosexuals in positions of power — the strategy of satan.
Dennis Prager has been asked why he lives in CA as many other conservative types have left. His answer is that “it’s home, all my friends are here, my Temple is here…..”
I wonder what it takes to cut the cord when your life is endangered by stupid voters in so many ways.
Sadly, some of these people will not have insurances, as insurers like Allstate and State Farm decided to exit the state.
Actor James Woods says his home did not have insurance for this reason.
Same thing they did to us in FL, now they want back in.
If the companies that left and now want back in are within 20% of state run Citizens you have to go with them.
Thanks, Lil Meatball
He can probably afford to rebuild.
This fire, like what we just saw in NOLA, is gut wrenchingly painful.
Already, in reading this thread we’ve got low water pressure, a mayor off in Ghana?
No evacuation plans.. a series of things that should have been done that you find out in the emergency were not done.
It’s hard to fathom such disorganization in an area like this, where these desert conditions make fires like this the norm.
This article was written back in 2023 but it’s more true today than it was even then because at this point, we ARE where the author saw it all going and tried to sound the alarm.
We’re suffering the results of hiring people for critical positions based upon skin colors, feelings, who’s turn it was, everything except rock solid qualifications for the job.
We’re seeing with every crisis now from fires to mass shootings that the people who’s job it was to plan for crisis didn’t do very well at all- if anything.
And then, to make it all even more deadly, the ‘help’ from the government is even worse or even more harmful to the crisis.
We’ve allowed our people to become dumbed down and detached to a shocking degree not thinking about what we’re going to do with a population of people that can’t think right, look ahead, properly assess risk and form the right decisions.
The reason this largely happens is from corruption at the top that sees the value in it for them.
Here we are, up to our eyeballs in the fallout of what we’ve created.
Today it’s this fire, who knows what it will be tomorrow.
When your child burns their hand on the stove, do you say something because you love them and don’t want them to suffer this again, or do you just do nothing because you don’t want to hurt their feelings with the confrontation- which means it WILL happen again.
I mean what is your priority, them not repeatedly burning their hand OR their feelings about being held accountable for a wrong choice?
There are a whole lot of people now that won’t answer this correctly.
We have got to understand, own and correct so many wrong choices.. I feel like we watch the consequences day in and day out and yet not enough people get what they are looking at.
It’s not just me that has noticed this and seeing this.
This article is worth reading and passing around.
We must learn and rebuild our foundation so that the house will actually stand and survive long term.
We ARE The Complex Systems and no, we’re not surviving the competence crisis!!
Complex Systems Won’t Survive The Competence Crisis
https://www.palladiummag.com/2023/06/01/complex-systems-wont-survive-the-competence-crisis/
Thank you. FINALLY, we are getting some backlash.
Well stated, friend. Thanks!
Just skimming the article for now, it provides a lot of very valid information and advice and criticism.
This one point:
“Morale and competency inside U.S. organizations are declining. Those who understand that the new system makes it hard or impossible for them to advance are demoralized, affecting their performance.”
That also applies to those affected by the H1B scam, and now we are seeing people in government having to wonder if they are going to be replaced by people from India, with our government’s blessing.
That’s an awful lot of workers who have just quit caring.
Currently my spouses medical practice is being destroyed by the one H1B MBBS from Pakistan. And no one has the cajones to stand up to him. He won’t do the schedule assigned to him, he vanishes for hours and is found sleeping in the office, is horrible to female patients……..This whole scam with Foreign medical Grads in the US is a disaster.
Our Founders were very clear in the fact that we were to be BRAVE People.
We must be brave and stand up and speak.
Protect free speech rights so that you CAN Stand Up and be brave.
The good people must get up off their couches and act.
We must look at what we are doing and evaluate if it’s the best use of our time, this battle will not be won in the comment sections.
Yes you may lose your job, but if we don’t stand up we’re going to lose our lives and our nation.
The job is secondary when it’s our life we’re talking about.
Bravo.
Edink: Mayor Bass must run a money laundering operation in Ghana. She used to go there on congressional junkets when she was a Congresscritter in our area. She’s a Marxist of the Cuban style and an Obama acolyte.
Biblical.
Biden’s Forest Service stopped controlled burns in California.
My first thought when I saw this headline in email.
Didn;t Trump warn Newsome after a fire on his watch that they needed to
do control burns and clean up brush or this sort of thing would happen again?
.
Up in Paradise . . .
Yes.
I watched a news video interview of Rick Caruso, a real estate developer, who exposed all the errors of the mayor of his town of Palisades. He says the brush has not been mitigated in 30-40 years, so plenty of fuel for this fire. He says the reason the fire hydrants have no water, is due to the local reservoir not being refilled it time…it is empty so no water to the hydrants. The perfect storm has impacted over 100K lives and it was all preventable.
Rick tells his news people interviewing him, that they need to ask the mayor these questions….in other words…do your job!!!
New homeless and illegal camps coming right up.
Linda: Caruso’s development company re-built the downtown retail area in Pacific Palisades, making it a go-to destination in the area. That development is now gravely threatened. It’s clientele have been burned out of their homes. Pacific Palisades is very affluent.
Money means nothing when you’re staring at your own mortality glowing in orange embers!
“Do your job”? Shouldn’t that be, you are fired?
Yes. California does almost no wild brush clearly and then let’s druggies camp out and start fires.
Why is this MORE IMPORTANT than what happened to those poor folks in western NC, or Ohio, or Florida?
Because the MSM thinks millionaires’ mansions burning are more newsworthy.
POLITICS.
Johnny sings it best. “Burn Hollywood burn”
News outlets have always covered large fires extensively, since the beginning of television.
The pictures say “a thousand words”….
It demonstrates to the rich that even they are not worth protecting. The rich and upper middle classes tend to think that they live in nice, safe neighborhoods.
Now they understand that they and their lives are expendable.
Water disasters happen immediately and then dissipate.
Fires burning down homes and hillsides are easily captured on video and continue to cause mayhem for days at a time thus filling the evening news.
Wealthy area makes it all the more dramatic.
Consequences of piss poor forestry management. Not fire fighters fault at all.
Proper management is remove dry deadfall. Proscribed controlled burns of dry underbrush when Santa Anna winds not blowing. Using those 1,400 firefighters to monitor their small patch of controlled burn area instead of horrific time now. But no, can’t do anything like that because it would harm the environment……
Libs…or Tree Huggers and their massive legal lobby consider removing anything pertaining to a tree or branch etc is verboten and will file litigation to prevent this.
They don’t care as to the ramifications or potential loss of life… their “precious” trees are paramount over human life…
.
Tell that to Michigan residents who are fighting the windmill farm that will decimate 400 acres of forest . . .
Nothing wrong with trees, but they need more ponds, and they need to keep it cleaned up!
Years of ruinous state and local government policies where billions have been squandered on feel-good BS while simultaneously ignoring critical funding on programs and invention to mitigate these regularly occurring tragedies has produced the results of death, injury, and destruction to the otherwise very good people of California, among others.
Fix the government first and the rest tends to take care of itself!
Hearing from many people that their evacuations ended up successful and they are safe—but many more remain in harm’s way. The stories from today are harrowing. Pray that the winds settle and the brave firemen are able to contain it soon. We need to get to the bottom of these fires. Something’s off.
it’s like a war, like a Blitzkrieg.
such terror & trauma , loss & sorrow.
Nicole doesn’t strike me as someone prone to wild theories, she seems pretty level-headed.
I can’t imagine what the people are going through.
Lahaina 2.0
Biden has also been diverting FEMA money and personnel to service illegals in sanctuary cities.
I hope Trump immediately stops this, and sends FEMA to disaster areas, starting with NC.
“there’s nothing left”
video…
wind gusts 99 mph
so awful
so sorry
At 8:26 above, I noted my far out conspiracy theory of you know the P. Diddy stuff is bad when they decide this fire is the best alternative.
But then, James Woods noted the insurance folks cancelled the insurance of everyone in his neighborhood 4 months ago.
Hmmmm, how long has it been since the P. Diddy stuff came out…..wasn’t it right about 4 months ago?
Oh, so that’s why he had no insurance.
A vast majority of these “Wildfires” have been deliberately set by people or utilities and people have been physically caught.
But when a state refuses to clean dead brush and landscapes everything is gonna go fast and out of control but having water pressure issues kinda sounds fishy.
Rick Caruso, a real estate developer in the affected area, said in a phone interview, that the reservoir that feeds the Palisades fire hydrants was dry and had not been refilled before this fire started. the high winds were predicted. He also states that the brush in the area had not been mitigated in 30-40 years.
That’s why they should be called arson fires. A wildfire is started by lightning in the wilderness. What we have now are deliberately set fires when conditions are right for catastrophe. In the past, some of these fires have been started by crazy people, homeless people and even illegal aliens. Fire weather is not new. The diversion of resources from benefiting the citizens to harming citizens is. You’ve got the original dangerous conditions with incompetence and malice more recently added.
Yesterday on the BBC a broadcaster actually said that climate change had started the brush fire. No, if there was no lighting, then it WAS human caused. That’s a big part of the problem, that we have these “wildfires” and they pretend that “climate change” is who is starting them, right after they advertise the upcoming proper conditions for catastrophe. There’s no easy way out of fixing the ignition problem now that society is in such a state of decay.
Climate change =
financial climate >
wealth transfer to those who ‘have’ from those who ‘have not’.
Also…
cultural climate >
3rd world cultures migrated into civilized Western-culture lands; cultural decimation.
This is what is Truly meant by the phrase man-made “climate change”.
The -powers that shouldn’t be- are orchestrating & perpetrating all of it.
Not everyone using the words “climate change” is using the same definition of the phrase.

It is very sad to see anyone lose their home to a wildfire.
That being said…
The zealotry of California’s environ-MENTAL-ists is a factor in how these wildfires spread as well as how they are fought.
When will the consequences of extreme environmentalism be realized by these zealots?
NEVER. 🙄
It will be interesting to see how the media cover this natural disaster compared to the flash flooding in the Appalachians.
We already know. They will claim climate causes fires.
Bingo! Just more proof we aren’t doing enough to fight the coming new ice age… errr…. global warming….. er , uhm, errr, Climate Change!
The brush and trees in California frequently burn at the >end of the summer months of >dry weather. … People live in California for the pleasant weather, and build their homes in the midst of a tinderbox of brush and trees. … After the rains in the winter have soaked the ground, no longer held together by vegetation, mudslides will occur on the hills. [Torrential rains may occur in the wintertime.]
The Santa Ana winds are a natural occurrence. … The fires are a natural result to dry weather conditions in California.
The >tragic loss of life and property is mostly preventable if the Fire Codes and recommendations are followed. … The State of California and many counties give away pamphlets about creating a Fire Defensible Space for the homes.
…… As said, unfortunately the laws and recommendations are not followed. … Many people want the dry summers of California, and the ‘lush green’ look of the vegetation in Florida. … The voters have nixed the dam construction in California for storage of needed and useful, fresh water.
The voters have nixed the dam construction in California for storage of needed and useful, fresh water.
Doesn’t the opposition to dam construction go all the way back to the 1970s and the administration of Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown?
Yes…and Mark Steyn addressed this issue of the deplorable lack of infrastructure development in favour of emptying the water which could have been collected in dams into the ocean to preserve one species of small fish.
That was in one of his first books.
The writing has been on the wall for many decades. And the finger which wrote it has moved on.
Lord, be merciful 🙏🏻
Yes, the EPA and Clean Waters Act, (1972), are the preferred tools used to leverage desired outcomes of the environmental activist groups-
Save the whales man……..
Which the hideous view destroying wind farms are killing. And birds…
Save the planet my giddy aunt.
GOD is angry.
Many residents were told to “shelter in place,” and then shortly later ordered to “evacuate now!” By then the roads were blocked. No water, no plan, nobody in charge.
Somebody should remake an old classic folk song with a new title, “Where Have All the Smart People Gone?”
Being “smart” or “intelligent” is irrelevant to 90%+ of things going well and always improving in general. As another poster pointed out, it is/was the national decision to stop transferring knowledge effectively from generation to generation that causes the degradation of society and our civilization from a “know-how”/ “maintain and improve things” perspective.
Humans, writ large, are only “smart” when someone teaches them using the collective and combined knowledge of previous humans. We no longer take seriously, even a tiny bit seriously, the obligation of each generation and our government to put effective knowledge transfer through usable (key word here) education as the priority for the greater educational system.
There is not a formal system to transfer knowledge anymore. Schools just teach propaganda and bullshit. If you want to have a population that can put “competent” people in important positions, and have enough for all your communities within your nation/civilization you need to make that a core and focus of your greater generational education efforts.
We do not, have not for sometimes, do anything of the sort. So, it should be no wonder we are living through the start of the idiocracy and that every time something happens no one knows what to do, and no one knows how to effectively mitigate whatever threats may exist or potentially exist in the future.
My almost 4 year old spent much of Christmas break watching old Lassie reruns because my computer cannot fet anything else …:) Now she knows about setting backfires, the importance of properly extinguishing a cam pfire, how to use a rope to pull someone or a collie out of danger, how to make a splint and stretcher to carry wounded , and the importance of putting wet blankets over a desk to shelter from smoke if trapped. Also a lot of other common sense things taught in scouting years ago and she pretends to fish.
I often think about how the shows in the 60’s taught so many valuable lessons–accountability, discipline, traditional family values….Heck even The Flintstones were instructional. Now it’s just perversion and sexual decadence.
Has anyone read To Build A Fire by Jack London? My sister read that in elementary school.
Prayers. My daughter attend Pepperdine and was already evacuated for the fire that occurred last month. Now she is home for Christmas and was supposed to fly back to LAX today, as she was supposed to work at her internship in Pacific Palisades tomorrow. Now she doesn’t know if her workplace exists, and her boss and several co-workers appear to have lost their homes. Potential mis-management by state and local government can wait, now is the time for prayers and help.
Agree 100% MR. Let’s pray for our fellow Americans and our Nation. Now is not the time to judge. My daughter is in West Hollywood, works in Beverly Hills (working from home today) and many of her co-workers have lost their homes. Almighty God, please help our fellow citizens and our nation.
This is becoming a recurring nightmare in California. There has to be a way to nip these in the bud before they reach human settlements.
Simple fix. Don’t build in Fire prone zones, Flood Planes, Next to the Ocean, Or on fault lines.
This fire is just a puff of smoke. Wait till ” The Big One” hits the West coast.
Many years ago…People were smart enough not to build on foundations of sand.
I’m getting multiple evac notices on the iPhone as I live near the Altadena fire near Pasadena. However AlertLA says I’m ok. No sleep possible from the emergency iphone vibrating 😟
Stay safe out there!
Be packed and ready to go if necessary. Gas up the car.
Please get out. Not trying to be mean but, if it’s close, go NOW. It isn’t just fire, it’s the toxic soup of burnt stuff in the air you breathe too. It will kill you faster than the flames.
I have been watching the smoke and overnight orange glow of the fire from my balcony. Pacific Palisades is a beautiful area but it’s fire country and always has been. It’s a terrible blow for residents and businesses, but the risks have always been there and this is not the first time that fires have impacted the entire area.
The winds in LA, toward the coast, were howling last night. Humidty is down in the 35% range. There has been no seasonal rain; not yet, anyway. Conditions were ripe for a run-away fire.
Conditions for fire fighters must have been brutal, overnight.
Gubmint as a god has consequences.
The Palisades is such a beautiful area. These are the hills that run from the ocean along Pacific Coast Highway through to the San Fernando Valley. So much dry brush and burn material through those canyons and winding roads. I don’t think the people in the video Sundance posted can possibly escape.
DEWs aided by the Santa Anna winds; mass destruction, fear, devastation……..Eco-Terrorism yet?? Save the world from climate change while controlling the populous and the land.
Hoaxes/causes turn deadly with government involvement.
God Help US
Sad.
Property insurers will become like the Dodo soon.
Has Newsom called in the National Guard? This should have happened yesterday.
My sense is if the fires were originated by PGE we would have already heard about it and PGE would have shut power in the affected areas.
The fruit of the sanctuary cities may be ripe.
How hard would it be for a few bad actors to set these fires, given the millions of bad actors that have come over the border? It’s a low cost/low risk way to wreak havoc and destruction.
Mother Nature doesn’t require any help when she makes a decision.
