Inasmuch as I want to value RFK Jr’s positions on the core issues of freedom vs totalitarianism, I find myself looking at his presentations with great suspicion.
Trust when lost, increases cynicism. Unfortunately, too few people know how to compartmentalize cynicism and simultaneously trust their instincts which support it. [BACKGROUND]
We have been saying for many years that we are in an abusive relationship with government. This battered conservative syndrome truly represents the dynamic at the heart of our current conflict.
When facing our adversaries, division becomes a necessary dynamic to accept. Yet simultaneously, division is the core issue all of freedom’s adversaries’ exploit. It truly is a challenging dynamic to overcome.
Here we stand, looking at a Robert F Kennedy Jr, a Democrat saying the only way for him (and his policies) to enter the White House, is if everyone votes for Donald Trump. I find the framework of this argument very suspicious, in part because I look at how the opposition has played this game for years.
We have suffered greatly in this game of professional Republican maneuvering. Additionally, as we elevate our awakening, the professionals who weaponize patriotism against our interests also raise their influence operations. This leads to a dynamic where our rightly placed distrust is leveraged as another point of division.
In the world of Lee Atwater, Karl Rove and Alex Castellanos, the ploy to snuggle up close to the adversary then later release their Brutus operation has been repeated often. Yet if we do not open ourselves to this tenuous vulnerability, we also run a risk.
I know I am not alone in feeling trepidation. Every move made by the collective Ron DeSantis, RFK Jr and Elon Musk group carries a potential dual scenario, one good and one bad: each possibility dependent on the intention of the crew behind them.
It was exactly this same type of scenario that led to the Bill Barr 50/50 conversations. Those debates took place on these very pages as well as within hundreds of conversations I had in 2019 and 2020.
Each move and expression by Attorney General Bill Barr could be looked upon favorably or unfavorably depending on the prism used to review it. After years of ‘battered conservative’ experience, I refused to grant Barr any benefit of doubt. We all saw how that turned out. The Bill Barr/DC cynics were correct. AG Barr was the institutional insurance policy for the DOJ and FBI to remain unscathed by the presence of President Trump.
JFK Jr feels like a replay of that debate. On one hand Kennedy holds the potential to be a great benefit. On the other hand, he is well positioned to hold the sheath of Brutus beneath his cloak…. Potentially triggering when Judge Merchan in New York acts against president-elect Trump.
Being MAGA in 2024 feels like a cat walking past a group of Haitians. It’s exhausting.
Sadly we have to trust some people if only loosely and with skepticism. I hope he means to do the good he desires within the NIH CDC and dept of HHS. Because that is not DJT ‘S bailywick.
Unfortunately he’s been ineptly ineffective or purposefully Anger Managing to keep the status quo because nothing has changed.

What also alarmed me was his retelling of the dead bear incident, when he and his friends staged a dead bear in central park.
The fact that it happened is bad enough, and shows poor judgement. But there was something else that sent up the red flags.

We thought it would be amusing….for whoever found it…or something.
Actually, the reason he did it was… he ALREADY found it amusing to think about the shock, horror, and bewilderment of anyone (possibly a child) who found it. And he pretends that HE wasn’t the one who thought it was a good idea.
Finding amusement in real trauma you cause others is a good indicator of a toxic personality and bad character.
It’s sadistic and narcissistic.

So as much as it is impressive for him to talk about having a conversation with God about joining with Donald Trump – RFK, jr. has been a bull in a china shop for decades.

Sounds like Bobby was trying to do the conversion process to get back to GOD. He was doing a 4th step and 5th step to list his sins/problems … to go on to the 6th, 7th step of ASKING and PRAYING to have God remove his shortcomings! And his ex-wife read that and “killed herself”. Sounds like there is more to the story, and she didn’t go through the conversion process. You have your own “issues”, the stuff you did in your life that you are ashamed of and are pointing your finger at Bobby.
We all have “issues” including Trump, and he has asked GOD to guide him and looks like Bobby is on same path to walk the God Walk. The 10th step of the conversion process is “continue to take personal inventory and when we are wrong, PROMPLY admit it. ”
I see Bobby and Trump and both men seem to have their HEART in the right place. The “evil one” tries to attack people trying to get back into God’s Family. Did Bobby make mistakes, yes he did… is there any redemption for him? Or should Bobby go to hell forever and ever.
Both are patriots and see the dire straights our country is in.

Clearly we are not as wealthy as the Kennedy’s or Trump’s and sometimes temptations are harder to resist when you are in that echelon. I think Trump handled himself well for such success at a young age. I don’t know much about RFK Jr. except for his website, but I ma not looking for perfection in anyone. Throughout history, there are ‘et tu, Brute’ cautionary stories of trust resulting in betrayal.
But there are also stories where trust was rewarded, as in the case of Alfred, the greatest of the Anglo-Saxon kings.
Alfred and his army was attacked by the Viking king, Guthrum and barely escaped with his life into the swamps of Somerset. From there, Alfred raised a new army and defeated Guthrum…but instead of killing his Viking foe, Alfred had him baptized and received him in his court as his spiritual son. The resulting Treaty of Alfred and Guthrum still survives today and it united the two warring factions into what would eventually become one nation.
A healthy sense of suspicion is a good thing if tempered enough to leave us open to the benefits of uniting warring factions. A year ago, neither RFK, Jr, nor Elon Musk nor Tulsi Gabbard had endorsed Donald Trump’s candidacy, now all are actively seeking his re-election in a tight race with a hostile media.
I say, follow Alfred’s lead and trust them all, knowing full well the risk in doing so.

There is a lot of baggage with Kennedy. I ran into him several times when he was at Harvard and wasn’t impressed. Like a lot of the Kennedy boys he partied hard and though he was better than others and rules didn’t apply.
I’m sure part of that was the assassinations of his father and brother.
While I’m glad he is supporting Trump, I want him limited in what he can do and what he is involved with. He’s weird in different ways than Musk, he picked up a dead bear he was thinking of eating and then just left it in Central Park!?!?!

The biggest thing going for RFKjr is that he prays at least nine times a week as part of staying sober. He says the only way he has been able to beat it is through his spirituality. Not uncommon for addicts to think they’ve attained sobriety when in fact all they’ve done is to change addictions. For many their new mind altering drug comes in the form of religion. This is the case with RFK Jr. He’s still an addict. The major changes are that his physical health is no longer in jeopardy and he can legally drive home after going to get his fix.

My take is that this is a good step. Initially RFK told only those in swing states to vote for Trump. Now he wants everyone to, in order to help prevent a contested election. Note, it would also help Republican downvote races.
