Retired Magistrate here: I spent Summers on my grandparents farm in Southern Ohio. We had silos and the silos had metal ladders on them so you could climb up and inspect what was in the silo and also had a good view of the surrounding landscape.

Mike Lee and Tucker actually point out and discuss the criminal exposure to Obama and the other Democrats who threatened (extortion) Biden into not running for reelection. Compare that to the Bragg case in New York City where President Trump was actually the victim of extortion being prosecuted. In New York State extortion is a very serious felony yet Stormy Daniels was not charged. President Trump was!

Lee is a constitutional scholar, and describes the rise of the administrative state – congress pushing off an added workload onto a permanent executive branch bureaucracy. Making the Executive Branch (embodied in the president) the most powerful branch of government controlling the gargantuan administrative state.
The institutional corruption in DC is staggering. Yet many pundits, some well-meaning, are cajoling us to “trust the institutions.”
That’s like being forced to kiss the creepy uncle, when you KNOW what he’s been up to.

I found that aspect of this interview – Mike’s knowledge of the Constitution AND the intentions of its authors as found in the various Federalist Papers that recorded the founders’ internal debates about the establishment of the three branches; what should and should not be included in federal government’s authority; and subsequent rulings in the SCOTIS that diluted and actually overrode the founders’ intent in the Constitution – as the most interesting and informative, despite it being interspersed among multiple sections of the interview..
If Lee is a Constitutional scholar, then he must know Harris is ineligible to be VP and also ineligible to be President.
But that would make him a xenophobe if he points it out. Better to play nice and get invited to the club.
The question of natural born citizen was decided in 1896 by the Supreme Court US custom service vs Tin.
Tin was born in San Francisco of immigrant parents. The Supreme Court found and ruled that Tin was a natural born citizen as stated in the 14th amendment.
Same situation as Kamala Harris.

Has nothing to do with what is stated and intended for presidential eligibility in the Constitution. Heard that argument ad nauseum. The FIX he recommends is that congress has to review and approve any rule (really these are laws, enforced at the point of a gun) that the administrative state creates, and wants to enforce.
He points out that the legislative branch, lawmakers, had been considered by the founders the most dangerous branch of government because they make laws that constrain and require people to take actions.
Therefore they had to be re-elected every 2 years.
The administrative state is NEVER put up for election – and is never held accountable.

BUT, a ruling by SCOTUS on April 12, 1937 expanded the government’s authority with respect to the Commerce Clause (refers to Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, which gives Congress the power “to regulate commerce with foreign nations, among states, and with the Indian tribes”) which Mike then explains opened the door to the subsequent and ongoing explosion of regulations by the Executive Branches without requiring passage by the Legislative Branch.

The regulation of interstate commerce & foreign commerce was a legitimate role for the federal government back when the Constitution was created, only to keep such commerce balanced and even across the various states. But the ruling in 1937* is inexcusable and should be reversed / overturned.

Also, the same applies to another landmark case that further increased the expansion of Executive Branch regulatory power: Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U.S. 111 (1942), Date of Decision: November 9, 1942. Decision: Ruled in favor of Wickard in that the federal government has broad powers under the Commerce Clause to regulate all activities that remotely may affect interstate commerce.
So the Judicial Branch decided to interpet the Constitution in a way that gives the Legislative Branch authority over the Executive Branch ?
The SCOTUS ended the meaning of the 10th amendment and gave unlimited power to the federal government to legislate anything.

Excellent discussion about how we got in the mess we’re in, starting with 1937 Supreme Court decision on the Commerce Clause that obliterated the 10th Amendment, and opened up every aspect of our lives to federal legislation. Suddenly, interest groups wanted Congress to legislate more and Congress knew that would lead to more accountability back home, so they punted this new power to federal agencies under the Executive branch. This was the genesis of “permanent Washington”.
He also gives an interesting insider perspective on how power shifted to party leadership within the DC system and how the “Lawfirm of Schumer, Jeffries, McConnell and Johnson” control everything.

After listening to the entire conversation I’m left with the impression that evil is so deeply ingrained within the entire US government only a complete purging of every entity stands a chance of saving America. The House and Senate are corrupt and generally powerless to be anything but play actors. The Constitution itself has been perverted to create a bureaucracy that feeds itself through the destruction of the nation. As a nation, we’ve somehow allowed the nation to be teetering on destruction by enemies from within. Putin & Xi have to be laughing their asses off watching how easily the US is being destroyed
