According to the New York Post, the assassin who tried to kill President Donald J Trump was Thomas Matthew Crooks, age 20 from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
The FBI Pittsburg field office is in charge of the investigation. However, as with all high-profile domestic terror attacks, shootings and killings that directly impact the “peace and tranquility” we can expect the DOJ-CRS to take over the information pipeline.
The FBI is officially calling the shooting an “attempted assassination attempt. The motive is undetermined.

Watching that pudgy female agent fumbling with her glasses, then trying unsuccessfully to holster her weapon made me physically sick. After the initial shots, his detail left his head completely exposed without knowing if there was a 2nd shooter. Someone tells them on the radio that the shooter is down and that’s good enough for them. I couldn’t believe the mistakes. The counter sniper team looks like they have eyes on the shooter, but they let him get off six to eight shots before they respond??? This whole thing is highly suspect.

I find myself wondering who on Trump’s advance team approved this venue with all the nearby rooftops and trees providing elevated vantage points. And then no one on Trump’s team took responsibility for clearing and preventing access to all those vantage points? Are they getting complacent? Sloppy? Or is it something else? Is there a booger in the peanut bowl?
Yeah, that is what I was wondering too. If it was deliberate plot then “they” have to have the shooter and victim cross paths. Typically you bring a professional shooter in from a distant location, so as not to miss, but that immediately raises the premeditated / conspiracy angle. So, if you think it is too risky to bring a shooter in, then you have to bring the victim to the shooter. (Then they say “triggered / unhinged local” serendipitously had an opportunity.) However, the likelihood that you have an expert “local” shooter, with the mental coolness to pull something like this off is going to be pretty remote. So, the only way to make the shot “easy” is to select or tamper with the venue. And that looks like what we have here. If this guy turns out to be a local, I would start looking at the venue. When, why, how, who planned the rally? It seems a little small for typical DJT rallies. IMHO
Not a security expert but to me rally grounds seem ideal. 5 or 6 buildings is all. Relatively unbuilt up location, easily secured if you’re not an incompetent, DEI hire, understaffed..
There was a ladder standing against the wall of the building where the assassin was located.
The ladder is a hugely important piece of the story. Given the relatively short distance from the rooftop to the podium, the security threat assessment by the USSS had to consider the rooftop as a primary threat location. Given it was outside the event perimeter, and that the detail was apparently lacking sufficient USSS personnel, it is reasonable to presme the site was screened and checked in the final sweep prior to the start of the event. It is likely local/state LEOs were in the security zone and conducted the final sweep which would have reported the rooftop clear. But was the ladder visible or in the periphery of the building? If so, it should have been impounded or removed. If not, then the shooter would have had to bring it with him, an obvious signature for the security zone LEOs to note and investigate. If it was there, forensics might determine why and who was involved in its placement. Either way, it is a critical component in determining if this was merely incompetence or a more complex conspiracy.

Not going deep into the argument of should women be in SS or out in the field assigned to such an important charge. But for Christ’s sake since when the #hit hits the fan SS agents are to use their bodies as a shield in order to protect their charge…. You have to a height requirement. Ridiculous.

If you watch the video of the SS overwatch, the sniper with the tripod has the shooter in his scope. When the shots are taken, the SS sniper pulls off of the scope, pulls the tripod back and repositions tripod, before going back on the scope. Unbelievable!
It did not appear to me that the countersniper was paying attention to the area where it was needed. The countersniper was alerted to something but focused on his right. The shooter was to his front left, about 135 yards directly in front of Trump.
Look at the closeup of the photo of those two SS snipers.(post at 11:39AM, above) The one on the right, crouched down, has a rifle aimed at the shooter. Most likely the sniper on the right is the one who ended the shooter.
From what I can see the angle of the shooter roof gave a pretty much straight line of site to SS snipers. They could likely only see top half the shooters head and the rifle barrel until after the shots were fired and according to witness video, the shooter turned toward the person taking the video which exposed him to the snipers immediate head shot.
It wasn’t an SS sniper, it was local LE (note the “Police” letters on his back).

It appears the assassin position was well researched in that he was just below the roof peak and the SS snipers could only see what stuck above. The eyewitnesses on the ground saw the shooter shooting, the SS sniper saw something moments before the shooting starts and the eyewitness said “watch out, he’s turning this way”, the shooter likely exposed himself just enough for the SS sniper to take his shot.
Big mistake in not seeing the shooter position as an issue! 2 cops on the 2 story building could have covered all those buildings.

How could a 20 y/o kid who lives 50 mi away from the venue and was kicked off his high school shooting team for poor marksmanship, know to walk to a building 100+ yards from where PDJR is speaking in broad daylight carrying a rifle to find a ladder up against the building in order to access it’s roof unimpeded? How could he then crawl across the roof without being spotted by the USSS anti-snipers stationed on another nearby rooftop?
Why were the pleas of witnesses about the presence of the sniper ignored by onsite LEOs and USSS? How could the shots he fired be so accurate when he was presumably startled by a LEO who went up the ladder resulting in his shots being hastily fired because he now knew he had been discovered?

I read that the Butler Police Department raided Crooks home, and confiscated evidence. I hope that included the perps computer, phone, iPad, etc. I further hope they resist being “bigfooted” by the FBI until they have evidence of a motive, associates if any, and social network interactions.

The Feds say they identified the dead shooter using DNA. But HOW exactly did that happen? How did they take a corpse with no ID and find a match for some 20 year old who supposedly had no criminal record and was not in the military? What DNA database did they pull a match from? Note the DNA ID was all supposedly done before the raid on Crook’s house.
How would a 20 year old’s DNA be findable in a database the FBI could search?
If he had a passport that would have some kind of biometric data like a fingerprint or retina scan, but not DNA. Real-ID driver license has facial-recognition ready photo, but again not DNA.
There are rumors, dismissed as “conspiracy theories,” that Covid shots collected DNA or other childhood vaccinations collected DNA but the mechanics of making that work seem questionable.
We are not being told accurate info from the feds. That is about all that is certain.
It is called a familial DNA search. They used it to locate killers like Joseph DeAngelo and Brian Kohberger. When they said at the press conference they were confirming his identity with DNA, investigators already had his registered car (with a bomb) in custody and the NY Post had announced his identity. It was a simple exercise to get DNA from the Dad to confirm his identity.
