I have made no secret of my preferred candidate to run with President Trump as his vice-president nominee. For a myriad of well thought out reasons, I have long held the hope that Dr. Ben Carson would be the running mate for President Donald Trump. {Background Here} Considering the ramifications, my thought process is not some random, esoteric thought, clickbait discussion or academic exercise.
Having been extremely deep in the political weeds, which some powerful and influential people have described as, “you’re nuts with your endeavors,” with a great deal of risk and with a tremendous about of fact-based reconnaissance into the nature of the ideological enemy – in combination with thousands of hours of private thought and prayer – I truly believe the #1 characteristic we need, in this exceptionally important moment in history, is a man (or woman) of incredible character, loyalty, virtue, and most importantly, unwavering faith.
This is not just a critical national election; we are in a spiritual battle against a very determined force of global malevolence, dare I even say visible evil.
That said, President Trump has indicated we will soon know the answer.

I agree with SD’s choice of Dr. Ben Carson. I believe his strong faith is the key to making wise decisions, his understanding and recognition of truth due to his close faith walk and relationship with Christ, and being guided in life and in making decision as lead by the Holy Spirit.
We have seen his loyalty in faith and in his support of President Trump and America. His high intellect is obvious based on his career as a brain surgeon. He can intellectually handle the job as VP. Without a doubt Dr Carson would be President Trump’s right-hand person who would never betray him or us.
I pray he would choose Dr. Carson. He is the right person for the next 4 years. All other potential choices might be younger but they will not be able to do the spiritual warfare and that’s the real battle we are in. I pray President Trump grasps this aspect. I sure hope he doesn’t rely on Pastor Paula White, the Florida lady who’s on her 3rd marriage. Hardly call her one with rock solid faith with a trustworthy real close walk with the Lord. President Trump needs a real, spiritually mature christian walking by his side in the next 4 yrs.
Lastly, as a spiritually mature Christian, he understands God placing him under PDJT’s authority. He wouldn’t be trying to usurp PDJT’s position and authority like Judas-Pense did.
I think Ben Carson would be a superb choice as VP but he is in his 70’s too.
Why not Byron Donalds even if he needs to change his residency from Florida? He is young and as conservative as they get.

1) Is he an aggressive standard bearer to combat the 24/7 assault the ticket will be subject to the moment the spot is announced?
2) Does he help in any particular state in play?
3) Does this person track as a standard bearer not just for the next election, but for the MAGA movement once Trump rides off into the sunset?
4) Could the person be President, should something terrible happen?

1) Carson is far to classy and polite to be the kind of aggressive standard bearer that we need. He is what they call a peace-time consigliere in the Godfather. And this is not time for one of those.
2) Best I can tell Carson is FLA resident, that is a state Trump is already gonna win either way.
3) Carson is elderly and will ride off into the sunset with Trump. He’s not going to be around to lead the next wave.
4) I think it’s POSSIBLE he could be president if something happens to Trump. But I forsee him getting outfoxed by the Swamp. I see him not tough enough to take the kind of heat MAGA would need. For instance, could you imagine him sticking with Kavanaugh in light of the garbage he was put through? (Granted, Kavanaugh sucks, but the point still stands regarding guts). I don’t see it.

Been thinking about this all day… I have to believe that Trump and the people making this decision have to be aware that certain people that they are thinking about picking for this position may piss a lot of people off if they should pick someone as unacceptable as Pence was. They have to know and understand what a mistake that was and don’t want to repeat that mistake. So I would think that the person they want to select is someone more acceptable and a consensus type candidate. That might be Carson. As you are aware, I think Sarah Palin would be great in the position. But should he pick Carson, I wouldn’t be terribly upset about it. I personally think Palin has better experience than Carson as an chief executive in her own right. I think Sarah Huckabee would make a fantastic VP. Not because she is a woman, (which is a really stupid reason to put anybody in any position!) but because of the type of person she is. She is strong, she works well with President Trump. She has traveled with the President and has has met many of the world leaders already. She understands international political affairs. Although, not the same as running the country, as Governor she is running a state. And she threw China out of her state. She grew up within politics, and has no fear of Washington, it’s BS or the media. She can actually kind of eat them alive. I would like to see Ben Carson head up both the health and the education departments. Totally tear them apart and put them back together again. If President Trump appoints me as special commissioner for election reform, I will have a letter on his desk on Day 1 with the following recommendations for executive order:
1) An immediate countrywide deletion of voter rolls with voters required to show up in person with ID to vote at their assigned precincts.
2) Redirection of 50% of U.S. foreign aid budget to properly staff all elections activities to make point one efficient and effective, including compensation and oversight.
3) Ban of all electronic elections components.
4) Absentee ballots strictly for overseas military and the legitimately disabled, and will be notarized. This would be a de facto ban on ballot harvesting.
5) The two weekends before the election will have a limited window of time for early voting for those who legitimately can’t vote on Election Day – truckers, doctors, nurses, pilots, etc.
6) Large counties (top ten 10% in population) report first.
7) Death penalty for industrial scale election rigging.

Problem with VP is typically is used to appease some faction, so being out-front MAGA doen’t work for that. But I guess we will see if Trump campaign can strong-arm the party. I’m in Milwaukee now and early appearance is that the campaign is going to in fact be a strong-arm.
