In 2021 the DOJ Inspector General released an absolutely damning investigation of FBI conduct in the rape and sexual assault of U.S. Gymnasts. The IG report revealed how FBI agents facilitated Larry Nassar’s sex crimes by taking no action despite numerous witness statements to them.
Worse yet, the FBI never reported evidence of the sexual assaults to local law enforcement – and to top it off, the FBI agents lied during the investigation of their conduct. The DOJ under AG Bill Barr refused to prosecute the FBI liars, but today the DOJ gave the gymnasts $138 million, bringing the total lawsuit settlement to over a billion dollars.
Michigan State University gave $500 million to more than 300 women and girls who were assaulted. USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee settled for $380 million, and today the DOJ settled for $138 million. No one in the FBI was ever held accountable.
DETROIT — The U.S. Justice Department announced a $138.7 million settlement Tuesday with more than 100 people who accused the FBI of grossly mishandling allegations of sexual assault against Larry Nassar in 2015 and 2016, a critical time gap that allowed the sports doctor to continue to prey on victims before his arrest.
When combined with other settlements, $1 billion now has been set aside by various organizations to compensate hundreds of women who said Nassar assaulted them under the guise of treatment for sports injuries. (read more)
Inspector General Report HERE
IG Report Excerpt – […] “The OIG found that, despite the extraordinarily serious nature of the allegations and the possibility that Nassar’s conduct could be continuing, senior officials in the FBI Indianapolis Field Office failed to respond to the Nassar allegations with the utmost seriousness and urgency that they deserved and required, made numerous and fundamental errors when they did respond to them, and violated multiple FBI policies.
The Indianapolis Field Office did not undertake any investigative activity until September 2nd, five weeks after the meeting with USA Gymnastics—when they telephonically interviewed one of the three athletes. Further, FBI Indianapolis never interviewed the other two gymnasts who they were told were available to meet with FBI investigators.
This absence of any serious investigative activity was compounded when the Indianapolis Field Office did not transfer the matter to the FBI office (the Lansing Resident Agency), where venue most likely would have existed had evidence been developed to support the potential federal crimes being considered, even though the Indianapolis office had been advised to do so by the USAO and had told USA Gymnastics that the transfer had occurred.
Additionally, the Indianapolis office did not notify state or local authorities of the sexual assault allegations even though it questioned whether there was federal jurisdiction to pursue them. As a result, the Lansing Resident Agency did not learn of the Nassar allegations until over a year after they were first reported to the FBI and then learned of them only from the MSUPD.
Moreover, the FBI conducted no investigative activity in the matter for more than 8 months following the September 2015 interview. During that period of time, as alleged and detailed in numerous civil complaints, Nassar’s sexual assaults continued.” (read full report)
We need someone or group to clean this utter mess up. And stay alive doing it.
It’s comin
But I’m not sure it can be “cleaned up”…
Hazmat for sure
What comes to mind is encasement and vitrification to be buried in a deep dark hole to never again see the light of day as done for some highly radioactive material.
Though, life in solitary confinement may or may not be comparable.
Justice? Perhaps.
Send them down to She’ol
We could debate endlessly on the specifics of execution. The destination is the same.
Certainly there are crimes so heinous as to warrant it for a litany of reasons.
Will this lack of accountability in our government ever end?
Isn’t this hush money ?
Hush money funded by taxpayers. I don’t begrudge these ladies, I despise the lack of accountability from these liars that are supposed to be serving us.
You mean protecting us….
BILLION$$$$ Of our tax dollars are stolen for illegal aliens … deadbeat college-loan loons … corrupt politicians … and the “comedian” in Ukraine !!!
I’m good with my tax dollars going to our Gymnasts … girls who thought they were there to be their best for America – while the evil that is Nasser, Michigan, US Gymnastics & the FBI used and abused them !!!
Thank you to these Sweet, Dear, Unbelievably Brave Patriots … for fighting back against the evil that tried to destroy them … and … failed.
Not hush money, but hard working American’s money. To think that President Trump was convicted of rape in a civil case in which the accuser could not even remember what year it happened and these young girls were allowed to be molested by this monster for years is simply unconscionable.
Those FIB agents openly advocated, aided, and abetted a serial rapist to continue to molest those young girls, emotionally and physically.
We are well past a Nation in Decline.
^^^^^^^^ 1000 upvotes!
Trump was not convicted of rape in that case. Repeat after me. Trump was not convicted of rape.
The jury awarded damages for defaming her. The verdict carries no criminal implications.
A New York jury found former President Trump liable for sexually abusing columnist E. Jean Carroll in the mid-1990s and later defaming her. The jury awarded Carroll $5 million. However, the jury did not find Trump liable for rape by the New York state definition, but for sexual abuse. The legal standard for liability in the civil case was the preponderance of the evidence, which is not as high as in criminal cases. This verdict carries no criminal implications.
Thanks for setting that record straight, Marcia! Turtle needs to check his facts before he posts.
The FBI’s field office in Los Angeles (Hollywood, Big Entertainment) failed to act on allegations of “sexual tourism” or even notify local law enforcement about Nassar.
Sex tourism does not suggest the act of picking up a streetwalker, or staying at a Nevada “ranch.” Sex tourism implies international travel and the involvement of wealthy people, or at least people willing to spend a lot of money, on sexual services. Sex tourism typically involves big clients looking for encounters which are very expensive because even the tamest of such encounters are legally questionable.
These victims were elite child athletes, meaning most if not all of would have crossed international borders on a regular basis. Elite youth sports and Hollywood, where child abuse is an open secret, are each branches of the entertainment industry. Several former female gymnasts (including some of Nassar’s accusers) have gone on to careers in entertainment. Direct links between elite youth sports and Hollywood exist.
The FBI chose not to investigate the convergence of: child sexual abuse, elite youth sports, the moving of children across international borders, a coach accused of involvement in sex tourism, and LA/Hollywood. Such a convergence implies the possible existence of a much larger abuse ring, one that exists beyond both USA Gymnastics and sports, and which might involve some very powerful, very rich, and very political people living in Los Angeles.
What does the FBI’s inaction suggest about its desire to uncover and destroy such a ring, one located in the entertainment capital of the world?
Recall the Penn State abuse scandal “ended” with Sandusky and Penn State University. Evidence later surfaced that former FBI director Lou Freeh, whom Penn State hired to conduct an internal investigation, colluded with the NCAA to railroad Penn State and coach Joe Paterno. Conveniently, this collusion drew attention away from allegations that Sandusky operated within a larger ring which included wealthy donors.
That angle was never pursued, and is now almost completely forgotten. If wealthy donors were involved in Sandusky’s crimes, or Sandusky was involved in the crimes of wealthy donors, former FBI director Freeh’s conduct did much to protect them. Such conduct is not out of line with Freeh’s history as FBI director. This is the guy who oversaw the investigations into Roobie Riddgee and Waykoe, and has TeeDoubleYouAye AteHundred, Rich. Jewell, and OK City on his record.
There was a lot more going on at “Penn State.” And there was a lot more going on at “USA Gymnastics.”
keeler: You are right on target.
🎯
Bullseye!
They were too busy investigating garage pulls at NASCAR races to do anything about these other issues.
NO………. the administration views the money as “the cost of doing business”.
The reason no one is publicly “held accountable” is because they all did what they were told to do and they collectively know too much to be scapegoats. The team must be protected!
Spending a billion is viewed as a small cost to maintain the powerful.
Look, the US just spent an additional $61B on the lost cost of Ukraine and everyone cheered and waved yellow/blue flags.
Maintaining the powerful elite is considered “priceless”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The DOJ didn’t pay them anything.
Those taxes you just sent in did.
And Ukraine got some.
And Hamas got some.
And NGOs flying illegals into the country got some.
And probably some unknown people on a pacific island that isn’t on the map got some.
And rotting oatmeal brains has a budget that pushes 54 trillion dollar debt for your kids.
#UNSERVICEABLE
mike turner finally got his some some.
Don’t forget the student loans payment; one in particular, a 9 year college student of music with a student debt of 250,000….1/4 million dollars (that’s Million with an “M”, Kamala) paid by me and you….
There are no words……
Yes, I’m appalled. I’ve been paying off my dead son’s student loans for 9yrs.
That is odd. I always thought student loans were forgiven at the death of the borrower
Yep. My personal contribution/confiscation to that 138 million is $40,000.
This comment really got my blood pressure up.. Due to some investments, I made 3,000 more dollars in income. Threw me in a higher tax bracket and I paid 2,875 more in taxes.😫😡
Correction:
DOJTaxpayers pay gymnasts $138 million settlement…I hope Tom Finton makes the DOJ/FBI pay $30 million to Ashley Babbot’s estate. We need to terminate the FBI and DOJ; they are no longer capable of being reformed.
Take it out of their new building “fund”.
when the FBI and secret police spy state (same same) are spending all its time defrauding elections, installing senile navel gazing pathological liars and cheats…they are NOT spending any energy actually policing…protecting Americans …
this is the truth about the NATURE of a secret police state.
it is cruel and cold and has only one single agenda: seek power.
God Bless America
They spent their time perfecting their kneeling.
Oh kneeling they can do. Good at it too.
Instead of a Sergeant at Arms, they should get a Sergeant that Kneels
That’s the taxpayer’s hard earned tax dollars said no one ever in the Federal government!
Someone should be fired or forced to resign. The buck should stop with someone. I guess there really is safety in numbers.
Unless you were at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
Despicable.
the so called democrats are best expressed as “pretending not to know thing”
the FBI is best expressed as “pretending to care about American lives”.
of course they travel in the same corridors.
($)(;/()&@);:///-:((@“&()
My sentiments exactly!
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Well said. I am having a very hard time civilly responding to this article.
I’m having a very hard time with civility…sigh
I believe you speak for the majority
I approve this message..
>> The U.S.
>> No one in the FBI was ever held accountable.
When was anyone carrying out the activities in the FBI ever held accountable.
This question is almost ludicrous on its face.
Wokeism and the Deep State are categorically antithetical to accountability
Unaccountability is essentially baked into the definition of Wokeism and the Deep State.
Not pretending means acknowledging they will not go after their own.
the problem with being in the dc bubble is these people do not know or care how much they are despised.
They know. They just don’t care.
It’s a lot like Democrats and abortion. They know it’s a baby…
It’s not just the dems and abortion.
Hannity called FL’s six week ban as being “well below the national average” as if it was some kind of baseball stat.
Then, referring to the AZ 1866 law, proceeded to threaten Republicans with losing the election if they didn’t get that AZ decision “fixed”.
Glad I only heard about 20 mins of his show.
At least Mike Lee got a few words in…
Trust God. Fear not.
They despise us just as much, or more, than we despise them.
And now boys and men can go into girls bathrooms and locker rooms, are we(tax payers) gonna have to pay to fix that government mistake too?! FJBLGB! F the swamp!
We’ll be on the hook for all of the medical malpractice associated with transitioning children too because the federal & state gubmints sanctioned the “treatment.”
Oh & for the child services malpractice as well since they’re state employees.
It is a victory
but
Do any of the individual people who worked/work at the FBI and organizations have to personally pay?
Unless individual people are held to account, it is only money…. and crimes will continue.
-Bill Barr, for one, needs to pay; and more than just money.
It would be up to State AGs to bring criminal charges or private attorneys to bring civil cases since there’s an incestuous relationship between the doj & fblie.
Now that lawyers are losing their law licenses & being charged with non-crimes by the doj, we can count option 2 out.
Some serious swamp draining needs to happen
“No one at the FBI was ever held accountable”
Maybe if our rotten congress would make this come out of the FBI’s budget…..or something…. there MIGHT be some repercussions. But no….they if you’re a rat bureaucrat it means never having to deal with consequences.
The Legislative branch imposed consequences.
The consequences of the fblie’s dereliction of duty & outright treason is a new office building that’s larger than the pentagon & a budget increase to match.
Obama said something like he wanted “A civilian force just as strong, just as powerful as the military.” Looks like our representatives in DC are giving it to him.
There are a million should bes out there. The lunatics are not going to punish their own, laws on the books or not.
Let me see if I have this straight:
We need 535 accountability-adverse sociopaths write laws to hold accountable a nearly infinite number of totally accountability-adverse psychopathic bureaucrats, some of whom have ‘the goods’ on, and are blackmailing, the vast majority of the 535 sociopaths. Is that about the size of it?
I have to agree completely. We are totally effu&ked. We the People no longer have any influence on who is stealing our money.
DOJ didn’t pay, we the taxpayer paid. The money should come from those employed by the agencies. Dock each and every person’s pay check until the correct amount is paid. Why do we have to foot the bill for law breakers?
digits typed on an excel spreadsheet, branded as money, wired to whomever, spent on real things.
great while it lasts.
reference massachusetts bay colony paper money.
Trump back in the WH, we gut and re-tool the 4th branch, hunt down the IC Communists and do a 180 cultural reversal trend back to America First. The communists in Congress lose their deep state protection, get voted out in real elections…Then we declare war on the globalists..We Good?
Good start!
We gotta check the hard drives of some of these FBI agents. Remember, this is the house that J. Edgar built.
Headline is wrong. Tax payers pay settlement for FBI wrongdoing.
Just asking for a friend… was anyone fired over this? Or was it like 9/11, and no one took a fall for it? Cold…fury… oh when will it stop?
Not Funny. Isn’t this about the same time Obama had the DOJ, FBI, et al started investigating Donald Trump?
I just finished renewing all my US Soccer and North Texas Youth Coaching licenses (under the old system I had a D-Level License, qualifying me to coach select or travel team soccer players) and safety credentials as I was asked by my daughters and some parents to coach my grandsons’ Under 6 recreational soccer teams.
One of the “REQUIRED” courses is essentially how to handle sex abuse, how not to be compromised and what NOT to do. Very prominent in those courses were these statements, supported by applicable legal code numbers;
As a “trusted person”, it is LEGALLY REQUIRED to report even suspected abuse.
As a “trusted person”, I am liable to be arrested and prosecuted for not reporting even suspected abuse.
As a “trusted person”, I am liable to loose any chance of ever earning Youth Soccer Coaching Credentials for not reporting even suspected abuse.
I know of youth coaches who suffered major sanctions due to these statements, even though there was no abuse.
This situation with the FBI is beyond the pale of evil and disgust, given the scrutiny and punishments dished out to the “little people”.
And now, thanks to Biden Inc, I suppose that you have to consider what has been done with Title IX and how that might affect you as a coach. I am only guessing that that will in some perverse way affect you.
And I want to say thank you, doc00, for giving your time to youngsters who need volunteers like you to ground them in the very precious lessons that sport participation can teach.
God bless you.
Thanks and by the way … there were more than a few references to being mindful of abuse of transgenders in the course materials.
Aaaaaand BOOM!!!
Every single person involved in this debacle ought to be prosecuted.
At the very least, terminated and forfeit their retirement pension and any govt funded contributions to any 401K, with loss of all federal employee benefits.
It is an unthinkable betrayal of all Americans that this travesty was allowed, enabled, excused, and covered up.
Money will not heal the wounds of those girls and they might never recover from the trauma.
This is “hush money”, “bribery”, “collusion”, “election interference” and a RICO conspiracy, all rolled into one, and all documented as fact. These monsters need to be prosecuted, jailed, shamed, and excoriated in public. There is no excuse for this. This is criminal negligence, criminal conspiracy, and convictions are warranted.
What percentage of the FBI, according to Hannity, are “good people”?
Right now I find myself thinking of the times of Alexsandr Solzhenitsyn and feel we’ve time traveled backwards.
No one in the morally diseased government will countenance eliminating this cancer, nor reforming it.
We need divine assistance, which I pray for every single day.
To borrow and adapt from CS Lewis, the moment has come when we must turn to God and say, ” We can’t do this, Father. You must.”
And pray that in His infinite mercies, He will do so. Amen.
Exact conversation I’m having with our Blessed Lord. We cannot fix the outcome of this nation/world without His divine intervention.
I pray every night and morning that He not judge US, the people, for the sins of the false princes.
But, there’s more that we people can, and should do. Church on Sundays. No Sunday shopping. Watch your language. It’s terrible how frequently people, in person and online, take the Lord’s name in vain!
We MUST make Christ the King in our society once again!
We all shall be judged. Judgement has the power to turn one from sin and to seek redemption,
Shut the FBI down.
There is no doubt in my mind that the FBI is dirty in this. The question for me is why.
Besides the FBI agents involved being proven degenerates …. it is the oldest reason of all. Start with the endorsement money trail as well as the major names involved.
I hate to say this but some of those names likely involved BIG NAMES from past Olympic teams who stayed quiet and were not abused because their status allowed use of other doctors. Again the trail starts with the endorsement money.
There was also a major political power struggle involved within US Gymnastics trying to rightly or wrongly pin part of this on the Bela and Marta Karoly … in order to have them thrown out of US Gymnastics.
The whole sordid mess goes beyond a few degenerate FBI agents and DoJ Officials.
The power politics of US Olympic Sports Teams is a brutal untold story. I saw it first hand in the 1980’s and 1990’s via 1 daughter’s involvement in gymnastics and having 2 daughters who played for the North Texas Olympic Development Team.
Top. Men.
Chump change.
Ok, so how many FiB agents were actually held to account via firing or criminal charges.
…. What is 0?, Alex.
How bout some names there, Chrissy?
It wasn’t you, so who is it?
You make Barry so proud!
C.Y.O.A.!!!! That is ALWAYS the game plan, cover the agency first, then cover yourself!
Those monies should be coming from the individuals who threw this investigation rather than from the public purse. Shedding the idea of “sovereign immunity” or “governmental immunity” is the only way we will ever get some real responsibility borne by the bad actors. Why should they care if they pay nothing? It’s like the judges who release violent illegal aliens – out the back door – ignoring ICE waiting at the front door, and then the alien kills another. There’s no accountability due to this immunity, which was only ever supposed to cover actions which are a natural course of their jobs.
Intentionally blowing off a necessary investigation or serving on behalf of those who are breaking the law by being here illegally is NOT and never was a natural course of a public job.
Quite frankly I’m surprised there hasn’t been a single vigilante with nothing loose, who can rid us of at least some of these swamp creatures. Not that I’m advocating it, just making an observation. The system will not clean itself. Only an external force can fix DC corruption (e.g. Trump + all of us).
Because we are not lunatics!
Branden admits his regime has been proven to be untrustworthy by President Trump on multiple occasions.
Good question….”how many times does he have to prove WE can’t be trusted”….FJB…clown!
Rare instance of biden telling the truth
simone biles was one of the victims.
even with her public recognition, the fib did nothing??
my condolences to all those preyed upon by that perverted monster and by the people standing behind him who did not act to stop it.
larry should lose his twig and berries in prison.
the rest should face a petroleum by-product with avian plumage, and perpetual unemployment.
When I read the headline I thought ” Great. They’re making the girls feel like hookers. The taxpayers pay them. The FBI are the pimps.”
I’m not saying that’s the right or the wrong way to look at it but it’s sick, vile and the first thought I had.
So what you’re saying is that WE paid for the FIB’s crimes and cover up!
DOJ pays?
No. You and I and every other taxpayer pays.
Let me know when a “responsible official” pays a penny, or does a minute of jail time for their misconduct.
Can you imagine how much they’re going to have to pay the j6ers???
No amount of money can wash off the stench of the FPigsIniquity
Bring back millstones.
One might as well expect rivers to run backwards as to expect any honorable behavior from the FBI.
CONGRATULATIONS TO AMERICAS BRAVE GYMNASTS … and God Bless You !!!
You have been to hell and back … now … take your money … protect it … take a breath … organize … protect yourselves LEGALLY … write books … name your abusers, enablers & accomplice demons – everything and everyone.
NO ONE gets to attack as many girls as Nasser attacked and NOT have multiple accomplices in Michigan, USA Gymnastics & the FBI.
How about also the sworn affidavits of election fraud that was likewise ignored by FBI, DOJ, local AGs, police?
Just as they don’t take that $138 Million out of the $61 Billion they are giving Ukraine!
We can’t have that !
I wonder how much the actual victims will get after the shysters take their cut. I guess we’ll never know.
I would posit somewhere in the 30-50% range of the net award/settlement, offset of course by their costs.
Before we battled with money and soldiers in suits, we battled with weapons and people ended up in pine boxes or shallow graves. Then we got lawyers to battle with money and people kept breathing, mostly.
Is it more ‘civilized’? IDK. Human nature rarely changes. We can review history. TBH, my grasp of the legal culture of the Roman Empire is a bit lacking. I do see people finding parallels there, in many aspects of society and culture. Longevity, IDK; seems like our culture is dying pretty young. Maybe it will survive.
Go back to the emotional Congressional testimony by the victimized young women. Who do they call out for a special shaming?
Lisa Monaco.
It would be more reasonable to take the payout from their new building fund.
Where is the NCAA main headquarters…Indianapolis. The FBI officials were too busy getting bribes and free tickets to care.
See my post above.
A decade earlier former FBI Director Freeh colluded with the NCAA to shift responsibility for the Sandusky scandal onto Penn State and coach Joe Paterno, and way from the involvement of wealthy donors exploiting the recruitment system.
Nassar was not the first time the NCAA and the FBI worked together on “managing” a sexual abuse scandal.
