The quoted banker does not specifically talk about the Central Bank Digital Currency that lays at the end of the promoted rainbow; the author does. However, the banker does outline a familiar step in the current process. As a result, it is worth drawing attention to the continuum.
MAINE – “According to Hannigan, the COVID-19 pandemic forced businesses to implement “paper-free and virtual processes” to handle their finances while “adapting to the new reality.
“For years, Americans had been slowly moving away from cash and paper checks, but the pandemic supercharged the trend,” Hannigan wrote. “By last year, 41% said they never use cash for purchases, up from 24% in 2015, according to the Pew Research Center. Only 14% still exclusively use cash and checks.” (Read More)
There is a BIG difference between electronic funds (current), and a digital dollar (future).
Put me on the first time machine back to 1981.
Take me with you!
You misspelled 1781.
You don’t want to be before penicillin was in the trade.
Or sewage treatment. 🤮
Wouldn’t mind it,..before aspirin they “let the fever run”, as ALMOST all bacterial or viral infections are killed off by temps much above 99.6.
I’d rather tangle with germs than the current Globalist/Leftists.
Read somewhere that during the 20th century, government was the leading cause of death.
It’ll only get worse in the 21st century.
Or indoor plumbing or refrigeration
The most lethal “infections” are not microbial they are sociological.
MTV!
1965 with what I know now.
Oooh – that sounds like a great alternative history novel to write when we get through this (because we’ll have to know the real ending to actually be able to enjoy the novel.)
1964, before the Presidential election, would have been better.
Calling Mr Peabody!
Ecclesiastes 7 (NIV) 10 Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?”
For it is not wise to ask such questions.

Making Totalitarian-Induced Black Market Barter Economies Great Again!
Long vodka …
VD Hansen talks about the underground cash economy in California. It’s huge. Me thinks we will have a big one.
Do you happen to have a link? That’s definitely one I’d want to read/watch.
I believe it was on a recent podcast of his, I heard him say that as well.
It’ll be Yuge!
There is already a YUGE cash only economy.
Few are buying illicit drugs, stolen goods or the services of prostitutes, and leaving a paper trail.
And the selling point that CBDC’s will somehow make illicit transactions impossible is incredibly naive.
Make it too difficult to hotwire a car, and thieves ‘invent’ carjacking.
Implement CBDC’s, with UBID’s (Universal Biometric IDentification) and thieves will amputate thumbs, spoon out eyeballs or cut off chipped appendages, and for those who live in the real world, that is so self evident that most will never sign on to a debit card that uses a thumb print, instead of a pin #.
My iPhone presumably has touch ID that is supposed to recognize my finger and thumb prints.
I found it never works when hands are anything but completely clean AND completely dry BUT not so dry as to be rough.
That would leave me with something like 5% of a typical day in which I could use the phone. 🤣🤣🤣
The soft-fingered computer wizards, bankers and politicians who like all that computer code never work in ways that get their hands dirty or rough. When they have dirty work they get others to do it for them.
So how does the gov’t get the public to adopt CBDC?
the public has accepted Bitcoin because of it’s limited supply.
People see the value in that. but if CBDC is just backed by USD, which can be printed out of thin air non stop, so there is no value in it. So it’s petty clear to me that it’s adoption is going to be forced rather than out of want.
BTC has a finite supply of around 21 million BTC.
if 1 CBDC = $1 USD then it’s just digital fiat that can still be inflated by an infinite supply.
The subjects have always fascinated me. Whose word do I take about the money supply? Or the crypto supply? Who do I believe? Who can prove it to me? I’m a skeptic, at least since Nixon went off the gold standard and the PTB’s did their thing to him with Watergate. Everybody lies. Especially everyone in government. It’s a prerequisite for the job 🙂
And once Big Brother has forced the CBDC on everyone, will YOUR dollar be the same as MY dollar?
Will city workers (Liberals) get more credit for their work week than some rural worker (Conservative)?
Will an old, white guy make the same wage as some other favored class?
Will my hour of work be worth more or less depending on my political leanings?
Will the money in my retirement account fluctuate depending on whether I was compliant or not and took the next jab, ate the approved diet, talked nice or toxic in my social media comments?
Anything is open for manipulation when it’s only electronic funds and someone else controls them.
We can be rewarded or punished depending on who is in charge and how we behave.
I wonder too about the paper to digital dollar exchange rate.
Given my dismal social credit score I can envision my net worth going negative.
Still creates other problems for TPTB.
“If you got nothing….ya got nothing to lose”
“Hiw does it feel? … Like a rolling stone.”
While the two are related, your examples basically cover (implicitly) a completely different area: contract law. And that is a much bigger apple to take a bite out of.
If these people really believe they can run a command economy….good luck with that one!
While the two are related, your examples basically cover (implicitly) a completely different area: contract law. And that is a much bigger apple to take a bite out of.
If these people really believe they can run a command economy….good luck with that one!
The truly humorous aspect to all of this? Given the existence and resources of the so-called grey financial/trading system….isn’t it highly likely that physical and digital walls will have to be designed to prevent the historical mechanisms that undermine/subvert such devices? Something the TPTB currently oppose in obvious ways (e.g., border security). Better expressed, there is a seeming immutable law of social behavior that means will be found to discover, trade and exchange goods and services that are artificially restricted. Call it the Cigarettes in Prison Theory (CPT)? What Sundance is hypothesizing is ironic on a grand scale given the same leadership class priorities when it comes to border and other “policy” walls.
It’s going to be an unholy mess. It only works (better word would be last) over the long haul if it is universal.
But wait, theres more.
There ARE phenominal challenges to implementing such a system, including trying to get near Universal acceptance OF such a system.
And, the people charged with trying to figure out how to get “the common man” (that would be,…US!) have long exhibited a crass and blatant disconnect FROM us; they do not understand us, and have absolutely no desire to imteract with, or understand us, and in their hubris have more and more attempted to resort to mandates and the excercise of POWER, to try and FORCE us.
How’d that work out for Bud lite,…drag queen story hour, 100% vax compliance, Ukraine wsr, DeSantis campaign, etc.
Without UBID’s, they can not implement CBDC’s, and I do not think they will ever gain broad acceptance of UBID’s; Universal Biometric IDentification may well be the hill we must be prepared to die on.
All it will take is requiring a Mark (chip implant) to buy or sell, and which will incidentally track your every move.
And people will accept it, just as they accepted the Jab.
There is very little Bible literacy nowadays, to protect people from evil schemes.
And we all know there are people that will have no problem cutting that chip out, or cutting off your appendage so that they can access your account in order to score some dope, or eat.
Good questions.
Your major banks already have FedNow which is the system in place as a first step. Your debit card is immediately debited through a Federal Reserve Bank.
I read about it online and went to my bank and asked. They had no idea, but took the time to get me the information. Their information was that it would make payments and credits a lot faster because it was a centralized system.
They did not give this information to customers. No notices. Just a seamless new payment system that you wouldn’t even notice.
When they are declared insolvent it will make you being broke a lot fast too. Just saying.
I believe that’s the whole purpose for these A-holes to go digital. They will be taking it away from us slowly but surely. The savings we worked hard to acquire will now go towards the national debt. Your money will no longer be yours and THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE.
If this doesn’t cause civil war, I don’t know what will.
My retirement funds, for which I worked 55 hours/week, drove an old car, etc, are now worth about 17% less in terms of purchasing power.
The scumbags in DC don’t care, they can just rustle up a bribe or two, like Joe.
I don’t know your specifics, but IMHO anyone with “retirement” in 401k’s or IRA’s would be well to consider closing the acct. pay the IRS 10%, and invest the balance in something which will hold its value in relation to inflation, and be a hedge against the coming hard times; possibly RURAL property, food and even better ways to grow food (aquaponics) guns and ammo and other alternative currency and barter items including silver coins,…older aotos, etc.

Which is mostly “money” loaned to the US by the private Federal Reserve.
I believe their plan is to take the wealth of citizens who have not complied with or have spoken negatively about this FJB administration l
I believe their plan is to take the wealth of citizens. Full stop.
There, FIFY.
Yrs, read or watch “the great taking” as it explains how and so why its now time to get out of stocks, bonds, etc.
Soylent Green.
It just occurred to me that maybe they call it CBDC hoping people will think they are talking about CBD oil and don’t worry, it’s great!
All of the hallucinogenic properties have been removed from CBDC!
sprinkle in some ADD and youre golden.
“So how does the gov’t get the public to adopt CBDC?” By Force.
Bitcoin has a cap on the number that will be mined, but if the “fake value” of it rises, there is no limit. It is infinite and also worthless.
$1= 1 Bitcoin Assume Bitcoin rises in value over a period of time to $1= .0001 Bitcoin You now have 1 Bitcoin=$10,000
Bitcoin has no limit. The number of small bits is limitless. They do not need to create anymore. Bitcoin created by a Mystery Man, it is a line of computer code, and has no value.
My description of crypto currencies is that they are created out of thin air, are backed by thin air, and disappear into thin air. – Jack Hellner
<REALITY>
What is the USD backed by that gives it value? It’s printed out of thin air and the supply never stops growing. It’s value is always decreasing.
20 years ago a house cost $100k, today the same house cost $300k. Same house, takes way way more dollars to buy/build now. The value of the dollar has diminished over that time. Why?
Btc doesn’t have that problem. You don’t see any benefit in that?
I’m not sure what you mean by fake value. Btc’s value is whatever the public is willing to pay for it. Being that it is a form of currency that the supply can’t be inflated unlike other govt sponsored currency. People see value in that. It’s price will be whatever people are willing to pay for it. That seems the opposite of fake to me.
Bitcoin is not infinite. It is capped at 21 million. Is the dollar capped? No.
Gotta start with WHAT IS a currency, what purpose does it serve, and how?
Hunter/Gatherer and proto-civilisations do not really need currency.
Everyone pretty much supplies themselves, or by community effort supplies all of their needs; food, clothing, shelter, etc.
There is no or very limited specialisation; a couple can make the clothing and shoes, cooking clay pot, hut, fire and food for the family, and teach their kids how to do the same.
Only with civilisation and cities, do we get a shift to competition over cooperation, and massive specialisation that makes barter impractical.
You and your family make shoes, I and mine build houses; you can never make me and mine enough shoes, to justify usbuilding you a house; hence CURRENCY.
To truly contemplate a lifestyle in which you are free, look at hunter/gatherers, proto-civilisations like the Amish.
It is said the Amish were unaffected by the Great Depression, because they did not interact financially with ‘Civilisation’ outside their communities.
In “The Gods must be Crazy” (a must see movie!) they are unable to explain to the bushman what money is, or its purpose; he simply has no frame of reference, and he simply throws it away as it has no use.
Gotta interject here a bit, dutchman – I’m in the middle of one of the largest amish communities in the lower 48 – and trust me they are anything but a hunter/gatherer civilization. And they were definitely affected by the depression – they just had much larger people networks and support networks (by nature of their seperate lifestyles) than most of the general public.
And believe me when I say that the “compliance rate” with the quackzine was zero or close to it – just ask practically any amish man how he feels about covid. Definitely my tribe =)
What’s this I hear about all the horrible Amish puppy mills and abuse of their animals? How exactly does that play into their “lifestyle”? Most have this “the Amish are a righteous and good people” opinion of them but the puppy mill thing shows a different view. I don’t know, there’s no Amish communities anywhere close to me.
Any and all transactions from or to the government must be done digitally and signed with your digital ID. All transactions at retail will require the digital ID and probably DC. What are you going to eat?
As I understand it, Basel 3 required all the Central Banks to increase gold reserves: https://www.efginternational.com/insights/2021/gold-and-basel.html
Central Banks have been purchasing gold at high levels: https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/central-banks-bought-most-gold-since-1967-last-year-wgc-says-2023-01-31/
imo: when ready, CBDCs will be attached to the value of gold/ become gold backed digital currency.
Would you accept electronic Ones and Zeros as value/money – especially as it is widely accepted that many computer systems can be hacked?
Would you accept electronic Ones and Zeros if it represented gold in the Federal Reserve’s Vault and was sold to you as being equal to the paper in your hand – even with the risk of hacking (although they swear it is unhackable?)
All nations have a Central Bank. Gold will be declared the great resetter and EQUALIZER (DEI).
Adoption accepted.
“-even with the risk of hacking (although they swear it is unhackable?)”
Granted your suggestion they make these soveriegn token CBDC’s gold backed DOES seem to address one issue, since THEY would be able to set (and so change at will) the amount of gold the CBDC token represented, and as they already started out by making paper dollars gold and silver backed, devalued them steadily and finally decoupled, I am not sure people will fall for that again.
Beyond that, the “unhackable” is ludicrous, as we have seen all sorts if databases, including Fed Govt. employees databases hacked.
With Credit/Debit cards, the companies have developed systems for customers to quickly file “claims” and get their cards replaced, and their $ put back into their accts., BECAUSE they would rather “take the loss” than institute measures which would have the effect of reducing use.
Years ago, Citibank actually ran an ad, touting a soon to be released Debit card that would use your thumbprint, instead of a pin #, but stopped running it when someone pointed out the obvious flaw.
In order to gain broad acceptance, they have several (I believe) insurmountable, unresolvable problems, but because they so WANT the control they see CBDC’s as promising them, the same people who envisioned Russia as OF COARSE crumbling under crippling sanctions, and PDJT’s campaign OF COARSE crumbling under the weight of Indictments as “Americas Gov. of the Free State of Florida ” rose, envision that OF COARSE the dumb masses can be persuaded to transition from one form of monopoly $, to an even less secure form of funny money and then accept “the great taking”.
IMHO, The vast majority of the Public have NOT accepted or adopted bitcoin; it just sounds like a SCAM, and many/most don’t trust it.
I see one of two ways, or a combination;
Firstly, slow and voluntary, much like they ‘introduced’ and did not MANDATE the internet, cell phones, computers, etc.
Gradually it has gotten to the point that only a relatively small % of luddites consciouncely refuse or resist, and THEY are going after #’s and the majority.
Or, they use a manufactured CRISES, “2009 only much worse!” to insist the only way to “save the Global economic system” is to have everyone adopt CBDC and UBID’s, and like Patriot act “we don’t have any TIME to debate, must do it now!”
Frankly, I think the threat of PDJT and MAGA is forcing them to act, and they are no where nesr ready.
There are (I believe) Insurmountable problems with this scheme, but like Ukraine, or DeSantis campaign, they are so inside a fantasy bubble, they so much WANT the control they think CBDC’s and UBID’s will afford them, that they refuse to accept the reality that it simply can never work,..just as they refused to accept the Ukraine could NEVER succeed against Russia, and DeSantis was NEVER going to beat PDJT.
For certain it will be forced.
There will be incentives, too, but it will be forced, and I think suddenly.
I expect it may follow the mRNA blueprint
Excited TaDum! Rollout of CBDC–> Perks/Incentives —> Dancing Bankers in a Conga Line —> Cash in Bank Accts Converted to CBDC –> Cash Removed From Circulation —> The direct or indirect criminalization of Cash with assist from IRS–> The shutting down of all off-ramps for converting Bitcoin to cash —> “but no force involved/sarc
I wonder if the Mark will be given to those who accept the Beast’s DNA?
“Remember the Maine!”
That was a famous saying, meant to remind everyone why it was so important to get that Spanish-American War going.
Actually, though, when you look back, isn’t the sinking of the USS Maine something like what we have found 9/11 to be, an extremely emotional impetus to get the American people to go along with the Patriot Act?
So, yes, “Remember the Maine”!
As they say, B.I.N.G.O.

Is this why silver & gold are going upwards?
You mean the dollar spiraling down?
Ammunition and firearms, i.e. semi-prescious but prescious to me metals, just like prescious gold/silver, remain constant as the value of $ decreases.
Hence, are an excellent hedge against inflation, and due to their inherent, intrinic value, really are a “can’t lose” place to put SOME of your investments.
And, unlike Gold/Silver, guns/ammo can not be manipulated as has been attempted with silver.
The government outlawed private gold ownership in 1933 to bail out the Federal Reserve Bank. Only 20 years after the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 was passed, the Fed had royally mucked things up. (See interesting article immediately following).
FDR’s 1933 Gold Confiscation was a Bailout of the Federal Reserve Bank (moonlightmint.com)
While we no longer are on a gold standard – perhaps we could be again. There was no law passed in 1971, just an Executive Order. Wouldn’t it be fun to see 47 rescind that EO?
That may explain the rise in gold, and silver. Heaven knows how much gold the US really owns.
Talking heads say it has to do with Central Banks fullfilling their obligations from the Basel 3 Agreement.
https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/central-banks-bought-most-gold-since-1967-last-year-wgc-says-2023-01-31/
The Rothchilds and other globalists own most of the gold and previous metals mines, therefore can and do control the market. People either don’t know this or forget.
We’re still cash intensive where I live, at least among the locals, and I see it play out at the fuel island whenever in town. Tourists have the attendant swipe their card (attendants do all the fueling of gasoline) and locals pay with cash and the attendant whips out a big cash roll to make change if needed, then punches the numbers into the pump and pumps the fuel. Grocery store is the same thing. Cashless exists, mostly for the tourists but also for any locals who have SNAP like I do. Cash is king.
All we’ll need to do is de-centralize services, find more local producers to work in the alternative marketplace and move away from the constraints of the state, both their currency and their arbitrary and capricious Communist regulations. We’ll also need a militia to take on the state’s enforcers as needed. IDK if they want to mess with a patriot behind every tree but we’re working on that in case they do. Our war will be with the enforcers of the Communist, not our neighbors.
I mention that last part because it is reality if the populace resists. They will send enforcers. Those enforcers won’t care if we live or die. They have their orders. That’s how it’s always worked and will always work with tyranny; here economic tyranny first, then physical tyranny if that doesn’t cow us. It is what it is.
ETA, reading the topic, it just occurred to me I’ve written more paper checks in the last year than in the last decade. I was shocked when looking at the carbon duplicates that remain in the checkbook. That account has been open at the same place for 54 years this year. Yikes.
Last year I was getting funny looks and even arguments about why I couldn’t use cash or checks when I started making a point of doing that. Now nobody is arguing (some look like they would like to argue but maybe have argued with one too many people like me already) and some companies are changing their policy to PREFER cash/checks. As in many other areas, there’s been a sea change in cash vs. digital.
You got thinking , really everything is driven by the Internet, and generally electric.
If that goes, it all goes .
The world is a computer anymore.
Without it ,most would be totally lost .

Ironically….David Gilmore is a leftist wingnut.
And, yes, I know Waters composed the piece. He is a King Henry in his own way!
Banks have raised fees, etc. Several doctors offices are now only taking cash, checks, or Zelle. Good news, in a roundabout way.
Yes! I was at the brand new dollar store in town, with an almost full basket, still shopping. A cashier tracked me down and said she just wanted me to know “our network is down” so I couldn’t check out unless I had enough cash to pay for my entire purchase. And, I’ve lived through enough hurricanes to know when the power is knocked out, you’re stuck if you don’t have cash to buy whatever you might need until they get electric/internet/network services restored. I haven’t heard of ANY solutions to these problems when the subject of CBDC comes up.
Dunes-
They already have a scheme in place so they won’t have to send enforcers. They do it upstream. If the grocery, hardware stores or gas stations don’t comply with the desires of the directorate, they are threatened , their distributors are threatened and then they have to make the choices as to whether they want to stay in business. They can’t stay solvent if they don’t have product to sell or a license to sell it.
How are you going to “de-centralize ” energy or food distribution?
Like we did when I was growing up; wood stove, gas lights and a windmill and water pump in the yard.
big learning curve, but Im with ya.
Did you eat a lot of cold taters? :0
How are you going to “de-centralize” energy and food distribution?
I have determined that I was born about 300 years too late.
My answer to your question is a wood stove, a good horse and a garden.
I am an over 40 victim of fate also, except my cannons still thunder.
S’why I say “look to the Amish, for your model of a “proto-civilisation”.
Not saying ‘become Amish’ just saying take a look at key elements.
Close to GOD, close to the EARTH, and close to EACH OTHER and eschewing/resisting technology.
TPTB will piss everybody off at the same time then we will all see where that takes us. SMH.
Go local. We already have a system in place where I live. The more people who get involved, the more robust it will become.
Think of how, before they went commercial in the name of profit, the Amish operated. That would be a great case study.
If you’ve ever had the Sheriff show up at your house unannounced, you’ll understand the enforcer part. They’ll go after anyone who their chain of commend tells them to. Doesn’t matter what’s right and wrong. If the regime targets one, they do. We’ve already seen that. Once an established alternative to their scheme develops, it’s a threat. They will send. Only a fool wouldn’t plan for it.
OK, I answered your questions. I don’t care about people ‘staying in business’. I was a business for over 35 years and shut it in 2020 in protest of this whole evil Communist plan. If others want to fellate the Communist to make a buck, that’s entirely their choice. Their lives are nothing to me, just like mine is nothing to them except a way to make money. Reality 🙂
Dunes- your preaching to the choir! FYI- I live maybe 3 counties from you and travel to your locale frequently. My neighborhood is as yours is.
Example- Government wants States to decide how to protect 200 critters that are, maybe are, or could be potentially endangered or threatened species, and State, after forming a “committee of diverse stakeholders” reviews the issues, decide to take their recommendations and put into State statutes that directs relevant State Agencies to implement corrective measures. This results in the fact that I can no longer harvest timber that I have nurtured my WHOLE LIFE. Not only that, county tax assessor wants to tax me more due to loss of timber deferral AND the infernal revenuers don’t want me to have tax benefits associated with my schedule F.
My point is that I have seen how the mechanism of enforcing the dictates are much more nuanced than just sending out the monkeys. The monkeys can be satiated with banana’s or donuts, but it will, or may, become very difficult to overcome the hurdles of obtaining commodities like energy products or prescription drugs that can’t be produced locally.
There is only one state that I know of where you cannot fuel your vehicle yourself: New Jersey. Oregon fully lifted their self – serve restriction late last year.

A digital Panopticon comes to mind.
Tell Trump that.
Here’s the problem with that – the US, as a majority, and certainly our government, are no longer more or religious.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
~John Adams
I hope I’ve spent every last dollar – dead and buried ( or cremated because I vasilate 🤔) before I witness CBDC take root.
I already have. I’ve reached the age where money and possessions don’t seem to matter much anymore.
Yep, but food matters more. Three days without it, and we all crave it. What will you do to keep your children alive?
Law of the jungle.
Your health and your reputation are all you’ve got.

Here is a bill tracking link in case anyone wants to read some of the documents, amendments, testimonies, etc. pertaining to the proposed bill that has been set before the 131st Maine Legislature, LD-91.
https://legislature.maine.gov/billtracker/#Paper/91?legislature=131
Thanks for posting the link. I read the written comments that were submitted. Interesting to see two more Maine financial institutions voice their support for this bill. I am grateful my bank was not one of them.
To understand the endgame, I encourage you to read this:
Personal carbon allowances revisited | Nature Sustainability
Basically, it’s a personal account which ultimately determines what you can buy.
Of course, it can be and, I have no doubt, it WILL be used as a scoial credit system.
WARNING: You can implement such a system without CBDC.
All you have to do is to eliminate physical cash and connect your bank account with a centrally hosted unique personal carbon allowance (PCA) account.
Still, CBDC must be opposed because it allows even more control.
Just wanted to throw that in because the dangers of PCA should not be overlooked.
Bottom line: Necessary condition for a system of total control is the elimination of physical cash.
I was reading an article in zero hedge this morning about the coming financial crisis in Europe starting with France and then Italy. Towards the end of the article it was discussing how the financial situation would become so bad that those countries, and probably eventually even the west, would be dumping all their green energy policies because they will no longer be able to subsidize them continue to support the high cost of the green policies as they are bankrupting nations.
I found that very encouraging in a way; not the Financial collapse but the collapse of the green energy policies. I hope they’re right in that respect.
My working theory was and still is that the COVID lockdowns in combination with out of control goverment spending, the Ukraine war and the Green Lunacy have all one thing in common: the economic destruction and financial ruin of the Western economies.
When the West is bankrupt and hopelessly in dept a new currency for all Western countries is introduced as “the salvation”.
I call it the Greece model.
Those who control that currency will dictate the terms and effectively rule over the Western world.
What the peoples of the Western nations want will become irrelevant.
Obey or starve will be the choice.
I wish that I’m wrong but my theory is the only logical explanation for everything that happened the last 4 years.
One thing about socialists is they never dump policies that don’t work. They double down on them. See Venezula and Cuba. They keep dividing the wealth in the country by half. But they keep on dividing…….until they are removed.
I was watching the NCAA games tonight. I believe it was Bank of America, don’t really remember, one of the big bank boys, has now come out w/an Alexa type product that helps you spend your money. Plug her right into your phone and she keeps you in line to help you manage your money properly. The commercial was scary to me. All the commercials were scary especially since I don’t watch Tv. It is like another world to me watching them. What was really mind blowing seeing all the races and combination of races, even looked to have some Eastern Europeans featured now. Just bizarre.
What was interesting one ad featured a tug boat, another ad featured a truck going across a bridge, normally trucks are going in the mountains or off road, and another commercial featured a black out w/the power down. How did they know to feature current events in the commercial? Rhetorical question.
A Navy commercial was promoting submarines. Can’t wait to see what that brings us, I guess that was meant as a warning to Putin. You could get a $1.00 burger from Wendy’s only if you use their app (QR code) and there was one other food deal you could get only if you used the app, I think that was for some toxic pizza. You get the deal only if they can track you. Kinda reminded me of bribing people to get vaxx’d durning Rona.
Washington said that the last act of a tryanical government was to loot the Treasury….we are the Treasury.
Useless eaters: once we restrict your pruchases, or food, mobility and shelter…and then when you die, your money (CBDC) and your carbon credits too, revert to us, wheter it’s a bank or the Treasury.
In other news, come Easter He is Risen! We remain steadfast, but have also an obligation to fight the Beast.
TV is frightening. I literally become woozy when I walk past it.
You are not alone LMGA!
St. Paddy’s Day I went to a local pub to hear some friends play music. They were playing for free, and were fantastic, so I took the tip jar out for a spin. The place was packed. Over a third of the people, maybe a little more, said they did not have cash, only cards. That was the younger crowd, the older blue collar crowd all had cash and most dropped some cash in the jar, some folks were quite generous. They also were happy about throwing in a few bucks, the card people were lost, I don’t think they could grasp the concept of a tip jar.
Again, being a recluse of sorts from the public, it wasn’t something I usually encounter. My circles always have cash. When they said they only had a card, my response was “it is always good to have cash on hand”, in a joking, smiling way of course. Under my breath I am calling them idiots. They just looked so stupid.
Nothing like buying a beer at a time on your card, it is that kind of place. No waitress, or table service. Hit bar and then go find your spot, when you are ready for another you belly up again. It is how we grew up, you went out, you carried enough cash for what you thought the outing would need, even if you plan on using a card you always have cash for whatever might come up. *Sigh*
The sign at the local eatery or mart checkout used to say:
IN GOD WE TRUST
all other pay CASH!!!!
I use cash at the laundromat. There is a regional company that runs a number of coin – op laundromats when most of the competition uses pay by card or digital wallet machines.
And, with my tin foil hat solidly in place, I still believe that the entire bitcoin situation was to assist in the introduction of digital currency.
There is a big difference behind the scenes between electronic funds and digital dollar. But I think the main idea is that they have already conditioned everyone to not using cash for anything.
As I understand it, the main difference is digital dollar has my name on it.
Or more accurately it is 0”s and 1’s, that are inextricablt tied to my digital identity (Biometric, so fingerprint or Retinal scan) and not only have no value, but no existence without my identity?
Hat tip to a poster who recently posted “Its like an airplane ticket with my name on it; it has VALUE, but only for me.”
There argument that it will eliminate money laundering, and drug/human trafficing and tax avoidance is NOT going to motivate broad acceptance.
Selling it on the idea that “your $ is safe/secure” might, except I don’t think people will be convinced.
Slowly moving away from cash😂😂😂😂😂😂. Why don’t they talk about how so many businesses magically ran out of coins during covid? This has been planned for a long time!!!!

As a retail business we incentivize cash/cheque for purchases by passing on the transaction fee for cards to the customer, we also let them know it’s THEIR bank that imposes the fee (2%), which then requires a payment processor (1.5%).
Yes some get customers get “uppity” but then I take a little time to explain the benefits of not using plastic.
Perfectly legal. The rules changed a while back.
Also post signs from here :- https://www.keepcashalive.com/
We can all do a small part by transacting in cash/cheque.
Note to self : stop using plastic where/when possible !
There are some local businesses here that automatically add the transaction fee to purchases. So when I pay with cash, they have to go through the process of removing that from my bill. Gone are the days when people had wallets fat with cash.
Cash, the new barer bond.
Bearer, as in carry-er.
Unless you think the 2A, gives you the right to wear short sleeve shirts, lol.
There’s an old Wizard of Id cartoon where the jester runs to the King and says “The peasants are demanding their right to bear arms! What should we do?” So the King says ” Well, just rip off their sleeves!” 🤣🤣
One hangup to cash is that young people don’t know how to figure out change LOL
I’ve even seen a young cashier, when the register tells how much change to give, fumbles and stumbles trying to figure out which denominations of bills to give in change.
And don’t even THINK about giving them a ten dollar bill and a penny for a $9.76 cent purchase so you’ll get a quarter back in stead of a bunch more change. It completely BLOWS their mind!
I wondered about these payment processing fees if everyone had to go digital.
Banking system would be racking it up collecting fees from merchants and even private sales transactions
Merchants would need to pass on the cost thru price increases on goods and services.
Even selling your car to your neighbor would incur a processing fee that you’d probably add to the price.
Prices go up and discounts for cash no longer.
And would the gubments then be getting a percentage also as their cut?
Interesting: There is no photo and no bio of “Lucie Hannigan” on the internet, not even on the pages for Machias Savings Bank. Why is that?

I doubt that is true, however the way they train elephants, IS true.
And no, you can not boil a frog by slowly turning up the heat; they will jump out long before the heat gets high enough to kill the frog.
Hence, you must use a LID, and considerable FORCE.
You are HERE.
As a resident of Maine, I thank you for focusing on this article from The Maine Wire. MW is a lone conservative voice in this dysfunctional state dominated by the Dems who have hold of both houses of the state legislature and the Governor’s office. Like other New England states, the wealthy globalists who have built McMansions where there used to be seasonal cottages in beach areas, dominate politics. Portland, ME is beginning to look like Portland, OR with a branch of the Democratic Socialists party having an active organization there. That group was able to attempt to push an EV mandate on Mainers, that effort fortunately failed, but it only took 150 signatures to get it started.
I don’t know what it will take to wake up conservative Mainers who still have common sense. We have roughly 10K Somalis mostly living in Portland and Lewiston. Recent “New Mainers”, still illegals, are from the Congo. The free stuff Maine gives them is enough incentive for them to come here to a climate that is the opposite of their homeland.
There are other local banks to chose instead of Machias Savings Bank. Norway Savings Bank is financially sound but is not in the same geographical area as Machias. Key Bank is another common one but not based in Maine.
I’m not sure I believe the part about cash usage declining; checks yes but cash no.
Nothing better than a good slapdown of a faux journalist (actually attempting to) lecturing an elected head of state.
10-4
Your explanation of the difference the other day was so very helpful and needed. Please continue to help us explain to others the differences.

Found in the bin… 🙁
I keep seeing ads for Title Insurance because changing a house title is so easy due to “digital” signatures. So digital everything actually crates problems. With a regular signature, there is an indentation on the document.
Title insurance has been a part of every real estate transaction I’ve been a party to, as a buyer or seller or trustee, now well into double digits in California and Oregon. It didn’t matter whether there was a loan involved or not. Lenders always require it IME. Even cash purchases/sales of which I’ve had a few, have it customarily.
However, that whole scheme depends on a functioning society and legal system. What we have now is rapidly descending into functional chaos.
As the squatter versus owner cases across the country seem to indicate, ownership and insurance are running secondary to actual possession, even in a marginally functional legal and justice system. Squatters are getting priority over owners and insurance is irrelevant.
My advice. Enact a solid possession plan and train to implement its defense. I already know what I’m going to do and am training to do. Yes, it’s highly possible to fabricate/forge/manipulate digital and paper evidence and records.
Occupying dirt in adverse action, either by principals or enforcers, is quite another matter. Most of them have families and, well, taking a page out of the Communist methodology we’ve already seen, I wouldn’t want anything to happen to them 🙂
Well before this latest trend of “squatting” and as part of contemplating the end of civilisation as we know it, it occurred to me we may well have cities devolve into warlord or gang controlled zones, and beyond that you will own what you can defend.
You just need to make it more difficult or expemsive for THEM to take it FROM you, than what its worth.
Survival of the fittest,…might makes right and we don’t need no stinkin papers!
You are ALMOST there.
Most title insurance protects the lender. You have to buy a separate owner’s policy and most people don’t. The new insurance protects your equity and your credit history.
all by design.
Frankly, better article for our purposes of discussion, is linked early on in the article linked, so clic on “Beware the digital dollar and CBDC’s”.
There is a very comprehensive article on CBDC here https://cbdc.solari.com/cbdc/. Another treeper posted this previously but it merits reposting
Just yesterday I had this conversation with the cashier at Big Lots. She must have assumed I was paying with a debit or credit card. She instructed me to input my phone number into the card reader pin pad and than swipe my card. I said No, I do not do that, and I was paying with cash. . She said in a snarky way ” you don’t like free money”. I said no, not if it comes from tracking what I purchase and how I much I spend on that purchase. I am fighting digital slavery to end. I said this loud enough for the people in line behind me to hear.
Later I went to another store, and I saw some carts that needed to be removed from three parking spaces and gathered them up and rolled them to the place where the carts belong. A women said to me ” that was a nice thing to do”. I said Yea, I am improving my social credit score, so I won’t have to bugs. Then I said, “you got to learn how to play the game” She looked at me like I was nuts. I don’t care, I sometimes get a kick out of making people uncomfortable with what will be the future.
Oh, KBH, I’m still dealing with those that don’t know what chemtrails are…I can’t even begin to worry about those ignorant about credit scores and eating bugs.
She’s probably already told several the strangest thing a guy said at the store!!!
I rarely go to walmart. I dug up a crape myrtle over 5 years old that hadn’t grown or bloomed and was @ walmart to get a plant to replace the stubborn (it isn’t dead) plant.
I noticed the garden center hasn’t been open and was shocked it is not this weekend.
I asked if a cashier was available and the response was changes were coming–no checkout in garden center at all soon. OR self check-out but he sort of contradicted that with saying check-out wasn’t going well and it too was on the chopping block. (I don’t know why?? it’s as if walmart likes to be stolen from and likes paying one employee to count items being checked out by shoppers…huh?/)
So, yeah, there is talk among the employees.
And to give the real story of my disappointment of the walmart visit that took over 30 minutes to check out…because I am usually not in a bad mood..
I left my purse sitting on the mower in the garage while putting the clothes basket lined with trash bag in the trunk(this is for the plant), then gave almost all my change(lots of quarters!!) to the charity people at the traffic lights with their buckets, only to get to walmart and discover missing purse and having barely enough coins to buy the hydrangea which I have always wanted!!!
One family let me break line since I only had one item, even offered to help pay for my plant, and my day was saved by realizing all people are not bad. This, after the pissy cashier questioned my ability to pay for the plant and me with my teeth together telling her I counted my change in the garden center BEFORE I got in line…duh!!!!
Have a great ‘Jesus is Risen’ weekend while I go threaten the hydrangea that it better start growing and produce gorgeous blooms after the effort made to bring it home because I did something I NEVER do–I saved the receipt AND the label just in case.
It’s my understanding that only Congress can legitimize a CBDC, and certainly delegitimize hard currency. Of course guven the lawlessness of our government, increasingly the Constitution means nothing to our so-called representatives.
I tried to get a small amount of cash (AUD $10,000) out of an Australian bank at the end of last year. I have an account there with plenty of funds. I gave them 5 days notice! I was told it will be difficult to get ‘that’ amount of cash so soon (it was Monday, I wanted it by Friday).
We started chatting and she told me that AUD $20bn in cash has been taken out of circulation in Australia the past financial year.
Power outages, cyber attacks. What could possibly go wrong?
