Catherine Herridge has been released from employment with CBS as a round of job terminations and cost cutting initiatives have been triggered.
Many people liked Herridge and she seemed to do a better job than normal given her position(s) inside the machinery. However, I lost most of my respect for Herridge approximately 4 years ago, and eventually just considered her a great pretender amid a multitude of big pretenders.
CBS News president Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews reportedly fired Herridge.

It’s so contrived that having not watched tv in years, the presence of tv newscaster-speak is grating on the ears. The taught cadence is so utterly fake and non-natural, but it IS what the population is conditioned to hear.

How often does one look at a video screen and pointedly note that there is a camera and operator behind the scene capturing it. No, the vast majority of viewers become one with the notion that they are virtually present for the whole affair.

IMESHO, the acronym “cbs” and the word “news” used together automatically forms an oxymoron. Has cbs produced anything of merit in the past decade? Isn’t the mission of the FCC is to ” ensure quality in broadcasting”?

War in Ukraine, the covid siege, MASSIVE refugee incursions, and the coup have all created the perfect storm that cost her her employment.
Congratulations to her for carrying the water for those who would summarily dismiss her.
Now that inflation has stormed the countryside and the US economy is more segregated from the rest of the world, the debt chickens have no place to roost but at home.
Maybe she can open her eyes to the rampant graft and start outing the grifters and letting loose all the open secrets, things might take a turn for the better for the populace. She might even find employment in honest media.
Fox has an extra burden of guilt because they have been the Pied Piper for the right. We know the “Left” media is lying but Fox always portrayed themselves as advocates for MAGA types when in truth, they were waiting to stick a knife in our backs. Our only comfort we can take in all this is that they have destroyed their credibility and will just be road kill as we go down the highway.

I cut the cord to TV 6 years ago. If you have paid TV you support all of them. CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX are all paid for even if you don’t watch their stations.

Saw national broadcast this morning. Talking about ‘shrinkflation’ and the reasons behind it. Not touching on the fact that diesel prices remain twice as high as they were 3 years ago. That affects the price of any goods transported by ship, rail or truck.

Real news is not necessarily visual, so TV “news” can never be more than infotainment.

I thought the same thing. She seems to have verifiable contacts. And she is being persecuted for not revealing sources of her reporting. She may get some Judith Miller treatment (jail time). I think it is China related.
