Senators Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), James Lankford (R-OK), and Chris Murphy (D-CT) have reportedly put the finishing touches on their “bipartisan border deal” that will be tied together with other Senate priorities to permit billions more in funding for Ukraine.
Keep in mind the billions for Ukraine is the goal here; the “border security deal” is the mechanism to deflect attention and give the customary UniParty illusion of justification.
There’s no reason to pretend this is anything of substance; even a cursory review of the media narrative shows just how insufferable this nonsense really is.
First, the motive….

Even in the expressed justification they admit DHS would be “forced to turn away immigrants.” Or, put in non-pretending terms, they would be forced to do something they can already do – but choose not to. And they swear to do the thing then, that they can do now, but pretend they cannot do – or something.

I guess everything in the DC Swamp is about the money. Money controls everything the Senate does and 90% of everything the House does. And the money is all produced out of thin air and across fiber optic lines to the Federal Reserve Banks. The federal government we now have is a crime syndicate that includes both parties. There is only a “Department of Injustice, ” and no one on the federal level who has the will to enforce US laws. Maybe there are a handful of people trying to do their jobs to govern according to the needs of the country and the US Constitution, but that’s not enough to make much difference to fight the crime syndicate. We watch even good people who go to DC or who are put in a position of power (think Mike Johnson IMHO) cave to the threats, grift of the other criminals in the cabal.
IMHO, unless we can retain a POTUS who has the will/ power to beat down the crime syndicate, the future lies in state governments being able to fight back against the damage deliberately being done to the country by the feds and their dirty cops/judges. Maybe I am being naive, but could it ever be possible for states to get off the teat of the federal money? (Which will always be used as a threat for compliance to the crime syndicate) Could it be possible for states to pass laws to beat back government interference (like some states are doing in response to Biden’s EO making it illegal to sell gas appliances) and develop their own manufacturing, industries, food supplies to sustain a reasonable quality of life for THEIR citizens? Could mutual trade agreements, defense contracts be developed between states? (eg TX trades oil with states who supply food or some other needed commodity) It seems advantageous to all (but the crooks and professional do-nothing hangers-on in DC) to become much less dependent on the feds for anything and to limit their power as much as possible within the state’s borders.
What remains unknown is how many military, NG will be unwilling to arrest/attack US citizens who are just trying to live their lives and go by Constitutional law, in order to comply with illegal orders from the Crime Boss-in-Chief. It was disappointing to see the statement put out by the BP Union leader, for example, who while diffusing the current border stand off, did not reassure Americans that BP will not comply with illegal orders from Biden to force TX to open their border to the invaders. Instead, he talked out of both sides of his mouth, leaving all options open. That is not reassuring.
