DeSantis is so tuned in to the temperature of his dark masters that he’s totally blind to the temperature in the room. The longer he keeps this up, the more he dooms himself in the esteem of millions of Americans whose eyes have been opened to why Trump is going through what he is going through and what that represents for us if the creatures of the establishment are successful. If DeSantis can view all this and still signal that he dreams of a Trump “crash and burn” result, then he proves that it’s all been programmed and fake.
To the extent that Florida has enjoyed a seeming conservative renaissance, it was all for the cause and when it’s no longer useful, it will begin a lurch to the left. Ironically, this is one of those campaigns where the candidate is clearly running against himself and his own interests. That he is too dull to realize it, blinded by empty promises, makes it no less true.
Florida was allowed to prosper during covid. They’ve been grooming DeSantis for a while.
