First things first, I pray for healing and his recovery; I am commanded to do so.
That said, what a bunch of fibbers they are. You might remember the initial statements about Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s surgery and hospitalization said it was for an “elective procedure.”
The removal of a prostate for cancer treatment is not an “elective procedure.”
With no reason to lie about such matters, it simply affirms the bigger question: WHAT ELSE are they lying about?
WASHINGTON DC – Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is being treated for complications due to prostate cancer, an ailment that President Biden only learned about on Tuesday, eight days after the Pentagon chief was rushed to the hospital, officials said.
Under pressure from the administration and members of Congress, including from his own party, the Pentagon on Tuesday first released details on the nature of Austin’s medical condition and procedures.
The Pentagon said that Austin had undergone a prostatectomy procedure to treat prostate cancer on Dec. 22. On Jan. 1, he was readmitted to the hospital following complications stemming from the procedure, including severe abdominal, hip and leg pain and nausea, the Pentagon said.
He was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection, the Pentagon said. The infection has cleared and “we anticipate a full recovery,” the Pentagon said.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that President Biden learned Friday Austin was in the hospital and the two spoke on the phone Saturday—but Biden only learned Tuesday morning about the cancer diagnosis.
“It is not optimal…for a situation like this to go as long as it did without the commander in chief knowing about it or the national security adviser or, frankly, other leaders at the Department of Defense,” he said. “That’s not the way this is supposed to happen.” (read more)
JANUARY 8th – […] “Secretary Austin currently remains hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and is in good condition. He is recovering well and in good spirits. He is no longer in the Intensive Care Unit and is recovering in a more private area of the hospital. He continues to experience discomfort, but his prognosis is good.” [Via Pentagon]
Montana Congressman Matt Rosendale is introducing articles of impeachment against Lloyd Austin. Let us not forget that it was Austin who KNEW that Communist China was flying a spy balloon across the US. It hovered above numerous missile silos along the way. It transmitted information to the CCP using a US internet service. He LIED to the American people about that. Let us also remember the catastrophic and cowardly retreat from Afghanistan. He left hundreds of US citizens behind, $83 BILLION in weapons and hardware, killed 13 US service members. He is unfit for this position (or any other serious position) and MUST be removed. Kicking and screaming if necessary. Doesn’t matter.
A Defense Sec. that rolls around double mask with a windshield is enough for impeachment.
Yes, we pray for his well being and recovery
That said…
What? Now they’re calling gender transition prep surgery a “prostatectomy”?
Maybe when it’s complicated by Monkeypox?
They only lie when their lips are moving.
His next in command was allowed to book a vacation or at least not cancel a previously booked vacation when her superior was going to be recuperating from major surgery.
Perhaps that’s why they first claimed it was elective?
Someone goes in for an optional surgery, they aren’t commonly incapacitated in any serious way.
No one can tell me that the US military does not have a firm grasp of the concept of “chain of command”.
Maybe they make exceptions for diversity hires.
Maybe everything isn’t as they appear, and Pres. Trump’s EO’s on Devolution for Continuity of Government really are in place? Biden was sworn in at 11:55am, not 12:05pm. Kind of a big deal. So is a military 21 Gun Salute, Hail To The Chief… The Football. Since when does the President Elect have to charter a jet to their own Inauguration, isn’t that the job of AF1?
Maybe things couldn’t possibly be as they appear…
What else are they lying about? Pretty much EVERYTHING!
“The removal of a prostate for cancer treatment is not an “elective procedure.””
So if you go to the doctors and they discover cancer you are required to get treatment.
Last time I looked you still had a choice to be treated or not treated. Thus it is elective.
You’re splitting hairs. “Elective” surgery is that which is not necessary to treat a medical condition. You can certainly decline ANY medical procedure, but that doesn’t make them all “elective”. Ask your insurance company what it means.
Well, to be fair, most men have a choice of surgery or radiation, both of which have about the same success rate. Radiation has potentially fewer side effects. In that sense, it’s elective to choose surgery instead of radiation. That said, it’s outrageous in any case for any reason to undergo general anesthesia without notifying your superiors in the chain of command, especially given how high on that chain he is. These days, prostatectomy is a one-day thing. Surgery, overnight stay, home. It’s usually done by laparoscope, so minimally invasive. Takes about 4-6 hours, if all goes well. His problem was the post-procedure urinary tract infection, which may in itself be being downplayed. You don’t end up in ICU with a UTI, unless it’s very serious. I pray, too, for his complete recovery and good prognosis.
My husband had stage 3 prostate cancer. He was not a candidate for surgery, he did hormone shots for 2 years, 25 rounds of radiation and seed implants. So far so good, 5 years out with a PSA of .2..it was .oo4 after surgery. No spread to lymph nodes or bones. He was 63 when diagnosed..the doc said he sees this type of cancer in 73 yr olds. It’s not easy, but he made it, many lifestyle changes for the good. Prayers of Lloyd Austin. He should have told his boss.
I had the same surgery that Austin had. Many men take a month off from work after the operation. This will affect his mental capacity for months. It is a brutal process. He should have resigned.
Almost all prostate treatments, including the “Euro Lift” for benign enlarged prostates, causes URINARY INCONTINENCE of one degree or another. With most of those less than removal of the gland, the incontinence is only for weeks or months, but, apparently some urologists giving the Euro Lift failed to advise their patients that incontinence would be a side effect of the procedure. One person had the problem for months and asked me for advice in the YMCA locker room. The answer is to carry supplies in a travel vest of some kind, like a Scott e Vest, for example, or some multi-purpose vest available through Amazon.
Removal can cause incontinence that lasts a decade or more, but it gradually reduces over time. The other problem is erectile dysfunction, since the prostate helps to regulate since sperm cannot traverse the urethra without the prostate mixing the sperm with a fluid only that gland produces. Because of the need for “traffic control” on the urethra (controlling what fluid moves on the tube and which must wait), males have three urinary sphincters controlling things like urination. The surgery can cancel two of them, which results in the post surgical need to deal with urinary incontinence, which requires a management plan that includes access to necessary items when needed, and physical therapy to assist in recovery.
Having a serious complication, such as Monkepox in Austin’s case, may indeed cause the procedure to be “elective”.
This is a very good information source for those facing Prostrate cancer & needing to make treatment decisions. It’s a very good idea to engage a “full-service” urology practice … meaning one that has all resources in-house & collaborating. The patient needs surgery or radiation but also mental, nutrition, and physical therapies. There are practices that offer ALL of these disciplines under one roof.
Most important … ensure all of your 35+ age male family members and friends are getting PSA checks annually. Catching the disease early is critical. This is a great organization to support monetarily, too:

Yes, the PSA is a very good indicator..my husbands cancer was only discovered after another life threatening emergency. He had great doctors at UPMC Medical Center. His biggest hurdle was depression and weakness. He totally changed his lifestyle..he had to quit his job..He exercises daily or 60 minutes and eats healthy..a few light beers a day. Cancer changed his life in a good way, hard to explain.
It is unusual today to have such surgery when proton and radiation is available. It is likely that the cancer has spread beyond the prostate. Prognosis is guarded at best.
People get this surgery to spare the nerves that produce erections and to keep the cancer from spreading. I believe it is unlikely that the cancer spread.
Should wish him speedy healing but can’t. Don’t wish his death but the sooner the Grim Reaper makes a visit, the better
Prostatectomy is not a small procedure. This means, just like the submarine fiasco, that the WH knew what was going on, but pretended not to. These people lie over things that don’t need to be lied about. So stupid.
Kiev, bunker, Russian missile? Is he dead?
Maybe the reason Lloyd Austin did not inform the president of his hospitalization was because he knows full well of the complete ineptitude of Biden. They did not want this information out. They did not want to jeopardize their plans, their power, and their control. After all look at him. He’s a stooge, and as Bugs Bunny would say, a maroon. With NO ONE at the helm the enemies of the US could pounce. What would be worse, in Austin’s mind, is providing an opportunity for the American people to take back what rightfully belongs to them.
I heard recently that rumours are circulating about him visiting the Ukraine and being clobbered in the recent missile bombings about a week ago.

(I’m not so sure – headlines seem Pro-Russia, internal comments seem pro-Ukraine).

I’ll bet someone in the hospital failed to secure the catheter tube. I studied a lot about my responsibilities as a patient in such a procedure, but thought the responsibilities of the medical professionals were up to them to know, not me. My catheter was secured with tape, which was not sufficient. One thing my purchases of catheter supplies for home use was a securement strap which goes around the thigh and nails the tube down so movement does not create an avenue for an infectious microbe. I showed the strap to the nurse who realized that was what I needed (bleeding had already started). Once the strap was put to use, the tube was immobilized, but I got infected by something called serratia marcescens which took Cipro to eliminate, but also eliminated most of the padding in my feet.

Turbocancer is on the rise. The spike protein accumulates in the gonads.
Biden couldn’t know; they can’t control what comes out of his mouth.
