It is slightly unfair to say this is a Biden issue, because the minefield of verifying employment eligibility has been a weaponized DOJ process since Eric Holder entered the picture as Attorney General. Both wings of the UniParty support the intentional conflict in employment law. The civil rights division of the DOJ now uses a Lawfare concept called “disparate impact” to target any employer who would require employment eligibility verification as a contingency for a job.
Essentially, if you have a work eligibility screening process that disproportionally hits any protected category of person (ie. race, color, national origin, etc.), then the practice creates a “disparate impact” and is therefore unlawful. Example: 100 people apply for a job; 50 of them are Latino. All of the applicants must provide work eligibility documents to process their I-9 form. If more than half the denied applicants are Latino, the demand for the documents creates a disparate impact and is therefore illegal.
Covenant Logistics and Transport Management Services LLC, “routinely discriminated against non-U.S. citizens by requiring lawful permanent residents to show their Permanent Resident Cards (known as green cards) and by requiring other non-U.S. citizens to show documents related to their immigration status,” according to the DOJ filing.
(via AP) – […] That violates a provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) which says employers must allow workers to present whatever acceptable documentation the workers choose and cannot reject valid documentation that reasonably appears to be genuine and to related to the worker. Not a lot of people understand the issue of “disparate impact” and the exact reason why the DOJ and Dept of Labor created the novel legal theory. The DC system, Republicans and Democrats, support illegal aliens holding jobs in the USA – Democrats for ideological reasons, Republicans for their corporate owners.
This issue has existed for 15 years and is the primary reason why illegal aliens find it so easy to work in the USA. Essentially, employers are in a no-win situation. If you hire illegal aliens, you are breaking the law. However, if you disqualify applicants based on their employment eligibility status -and a disparate impact issue exists- then, you are also breaking the law.
(AP) – Chattanooga-based Covenant Transport and an affiliate will pay the U.S. government $700,000 after investigators found the companies violated an anti-discrimination provision against workers who are not U.S. citizens.
The U.S. Department of Justice said in a release Monday that Covenant and its affiliate Transport Management Services LLC routinely discriminated against non-U.S. citizen workers when checking their permission to work in the United States.
That violates a provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) which says employers must allow workers to present whatever acceptable documentation the workers choose and cannot reject valid documentation that reasonably appears to be genuine and to relate to the worker.
Instead, federal investigators found that between January 2020 and at least August 2022 Covenant and Transport
..routinely discriminated against non-U.S. citizens by requiring lawful permanent residents to show their Permanent Resident Cards (known as green cards) and by requiring other non-U.S. citizens to show documents related to their immigration status.
Employers are required to let workers present whatever acceptable documentation the workers choose and cannot reject valid documentation that reasonably appears to be genuine and to relate to the worker.
Under the terms of the agreement, Covenant and Transport will pay $700,000 in civil penalties to the United States, train their employees on the INA’s anti-discrimination requirements, revise their employment policies and be subject to monitoring by the department.
Employers cannot discriminate against non-U.S. citizens by demanding specific or unnecessary documents from them to prove their permission to work,” said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. “The Justice Department is committed to ensuring compliance with our federal civil rights laws so that non-U.S. citizens with permission to work can contribute their talents to our workforce. There are approximately 50 million illegal aliens working inside the USA.
Confronting this issue in the 2024 election will bring out all the aligned enemies, so it’s best for Trump to avoid it.
Not a citizen you don’t get to work.
I’m not sure where you live but illegals are working and getting paid all over the country
yep
the companies get slaves, they get more money cause they arent taxed, and the State or Country pays for all benefits they collect while here.
donating to a campaign is a small loss, compared to the loss they pass on to the country after a win.
Driving a big rig is NOT for people, regardless of their race or immigration status, that have not been thoroughly vetted. Most companies required drivers to handle all sorts of hazardous material, from chlorine bleach to aviation fuel and other flammable material.
So with this legal ruling the US Government is saying “it’s OK for truck drivers to be criminal undocumented workers” who violated our laws about illegal border crossing, and don’t worry about anything. So if the person in question will violate the immigration law, does anyone really expect that person would not violate DOT rules and regulations.
As a former commercial drivers for 12 years, I regularly was screened for illegal drugs AND, because I was transporting HM regularly, I was required to submit to a background check every 3 years. Yes, a full background review more detailed than is required to carry a firearm in most states.
This makes absolutely no sense and shows the Biden administration’s lack of concern for public safety
The Hazmat is valid for 5 years now, with full TSA background check, fingerprints. I just renewed mine. Besides the drug testing for hiring, we are also subjected to random tests throughout the year.
Every company I have ever applied to work asked about citizenship status. It’s on the application form.
Thanks for your informative post. As for our Neo-Govt, if they had any concern for “public safety,” our nation’s cities wouldn’t be crime infested hellholes.
It’s not lack of concern it’s deliberate sabotage.
Every thing you wrote shows that you object to this type of law because you have common sense and good judgement. Using common sense and good judgment again, it’s apparent that this law was instituted to further an agenda that could result in very harmful outcomes, and that is exactly what’s intended.
The more we learn the less pretending the consequences are unintentional is acceptable. They have been working against the citizenry for decades.
What’s interesting is how in ‘closed shop’ states like Illinois, the unions keep all the illegals away. They come here, looking for scab work and then shortly go back to TX where the pay isn’t as great but the pickin’s are easier. The UniParty has created a very Orwellian state of affairs for us average Americans.
I rarely disagree with Sundance. However, I don’t think avoiding this BS Fake law and PRETENDING is the correct choice. FUBAR!!!!
is your choice like mine? hoping someone else saves me, us.. cause I dont want to have to do it myself
This is typical. The govt sets up two different agencies with competing objectives. Each has penalties if you violate its regulations. I had a tax case for a client where the SEC required it to defer reporting of income, payment for which was received fully upfront. The IRS however claimed the cash required reporting 100% of the income on day 1. Each agency claimed their view represented “reality”. It’s the typical “heads we win tails you lose” situation we experience from the criminal gang called the US Government every day.
How long before the same law applies to voting???
It’s here..it happens in AZ. In fed elections they must be allowed with less than citizen Id to vote.
Also in AZ are ballot harvesters ~ we’ve taken pics of car licenses and watched boxes and bags going in and out of a house a block away . . . but report it to whom not on the take?!? Cartel supported Sheriff Penzone*…Soros backed Gov Hobbs, AG, Sec of State, County Recorder???

Secession
do you ask somebody for that?
Another wonderful “Catch-22” solution courtesy of our Fed Govt.. Ideally, no one will be allowed to work.
The crisis of competency is on us in all areas of life. Illegals aliens and migrant workers with less education (and lower natural IQ) have flooded many industries and professions. Wall Street is still making their quarterly numbers though, so it’s all good.
Meanwhile healthcare workers (especially elderly care), logistics and transportation, agriculture, civil service drone jobs, and the armed forces are inundated with trash. And what isn’t flooded with low quality labor has been outsourced to China, India and Mexico with their own labor and QC issues who care naught for us.
Rome fell when her citizens stopped caring and left the “hard things” to the barbarians. We are there now ourselves.
Things will continue to fall apart unless radical demographic-based changes are made which, frankly, most will find distasteful.
Found in the bin… 🙁
I’ll tell you how part of it works here in west Texas.
Illegal folks drive trucks until they are caught. Then they stop.
Then the truck owner or company (sometimes illegal themselves or have a relative that is legal) has a different illegal person drive the truck.
Wonder how they get away with it? We have a small car and a one ton truck. My husband, who can literally take a diesel semi apart and put it back together was failed on his final CDL test due to misunderstanding a direction of the very young non-white testing person (masked of course). Anyhow, last year we were driving on the interstate past a local city and we were stopped, for what I don’t know. They gave us a ticket for some minor thing wrong with the car. It was weird because it was a city cop and not a deputy (the interstate is outside the city limits). And the policeman actually put himself and us at risk with the place he had us pull over.
So we enquired when we went to pay the ticket. Was told it was a joint operation to catch illegal truck drivers.
AN OPERATION TO CATCH ILLEGAL TRUCK DRIVERS – So they pull over a non-speeding small car? And I mean small, a Versa. We have been stopped several times in our one ton for a missing mud flap. Not that it isn’t important but this happens super easy going down long lease roads to get to oil drilling rigs. It doesn’t seem like the best use of the police time. Especially while we are pulled over on an interstate where the speed limit is 80mph and there are always, ALWAYS, vehicles traveling considerably faster than that.
That’s been going on in Florida for years. They get off the boat in Miami, pay $500 for a CDL and drive. Most of our contractor’s drivers hauling solid waste for the county speak very little/no English.
But to be honest, the last two people we hired for entry-level county employee jobs were both immigrants (legal); one from Brazil, the other from Haiti. Neither speak English, but they work. We talk to them through the google translators on our phones.
And the dozens of regular citizenry who applied for those jobs that we interviewed? They either balked at the pay (starting at $16/hr) and/or displayed no real work ethic during the interviews. These are county gov’t jobs with benefits and retirement, that are damn near impossible to get fired from (after the initial six-month probation period) and will still exist while private jobs get laid-off in bad economic times.
He shall speak words against the Most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the Most High,
and shall think to change the times and the law;
and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time. – Dan 7:25
The tentacles of government keep lashing out. One has to wonder how long it will take until the companies that backed this wake up; another more poignant example is BofA being fined $12 million by CFPB….that word “protection” should have been a signal.

Not disagreeing here, however would like to offer an observation I’ve made from inside my industry. Many workers coming from other countries will do the work, and do it well. They’re getting paid the same as workers from here that would be doing it.
What I’m not saying is that workers from other countries (illegal or similar status) are “taking jobs from American workers”. What I am saying is that I’ve noticed American workers (in my industry) are increasingly not interested in working technician labor level type jobs. To get people to actually show up on time has gotten ridiculous. Many related stories.
Suffice to say, my thinking is that problematic smartphone use (PSU) is the hidden cause. People become unreliable, distracted, use and check their phones constantly.
I think it was all part of the long term plan by the big tech and elite players mentioned often here. And here we are in it.
The Holy Spirit is moving though, strong in many souls here and abroad. In the Lord there is hope dear ones. He is the only hope. His kingdom shall have no end.
Who ever I come across, no matter their nationality or ethnicity, my desire is to meet brothers and sisters in Christ and bring the gospel to everyone we meet.
