The slate is set for a Monday evening conference in the Republican House of Representatives as nine GOP politicians have registered by the deadline today to put their names in the nomination process. After the conference meets on Monday night, there will be a secret ballot vote on Tuesday.
The absolute worst-case scenario is Tom Emmer (R-MN) who has just received the endorsement of Kevin McCarthy. Emmer wants to abolish the electoral college for presidential races in favor of a national popular vote. Unfortunately, Emmer likely carries around 70 automatic votes from the professionally Republican caucus.
On the opposite side of that spectrum is Byron Donalds (R-FL) who is pure MAGA and also running for the job.
WASHINGTON DC – The House GOP’s enormous speaker field is officially set, with nine Republicans seeking to somehow unify their splintered party after almost three weeks without a leader.
It’s the most crowded field since former Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s fall 19 days ago. The latest round of candidates includes current GOP leaders — like Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) and Vice Chair Mike Johnson (R-La.) — as well as more surprising rank and file members like Reps. Jack Bergman (R-Mich.). Another last-minute addition, Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Ala.), who serves as GOP policy chair, raised eyebrows on Sunday.
“Any one of those, I think, could get very close to 217. But the question is which one of those can actually cross the finish line,” Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) told POLITICO, referring to candidates like Reps. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), Kevin Hern (R-Okla.) and Johnson. (read more)
Byron Donalds and Mike Johnson appear to be the best options of this field.
The last one we need as Speaker is Tom Emmer.
A GOPe RINO.
Much worse that that. A Soros fellow-traveler.
I don’t know, Emmer’s “pedigree” seems perfectly suited especially with his baggage still being surfaced like this since last Oct. 2022. https://nypost.com/2022/10/28/knives-out-in-house-gop-whip-race-as-midterms-near/. Most never heard of this simp until now. Excluding 2017-2020 this and lots more over the past 35 years is now just idle conversation on the way to kinetic action because for the republican party, it’s over.
Another professional g0pE loser thus far re-elected three (3) times by his cadre of heavy thinkers in MN CD-06 aka Somalia West. https://libertyscore.conservativereview.com/tom-emmer
Ya know in the just a few months from McCarthy’s great debt limit deal the Federal debt went from $31.4 Trillion to $33.6 Trillion-an increase of over $2 Trillion in what ? 4 months!
Of course none of the great. Uniparty leaders want to even discuss the deficit which btw is so large the guvmint won’t even tell us what it it!
It chaps my ass.
Friday’s structural revenue component is alleged to be $1.7 trillion which dotGov released a week late and as usual on a Friday. I have only basic macro/micro competence, but based on where I know to look have found E..J. Antoni and Russ Vought to be the best. Unfortunately Antoni uses twatter aka “X” for his latest analysis as @realejantoni. Former Dir. OMB (Trump) Russ Vought is @RussVought at GETTR, https://gettr.com/user/amrenewcitizen; https://americarenewing.com/, Rumble, Warroom, but twatter looks like anything recent needs a login.
The Speaker position is of immense importance. With that position Council On Foreign Relations Arch-Fabian Uniparty Gingrich was able to make sure his fellow CFR friend China Clinton was not impeached for treason in regards to ChinaGate, and impeached on the silly stuff as a deflection away from the high treason of Chinagate.
A real MAGA Speaker would be a huge boon to PDJT, MAGA & Heritage America which the CFR is attempting to destroy
At least one RINO is on his way out…..Don Bacon, my rep……looking forward to a solid primary against him….maybe he’ll take my advice and switch from an R to a D, that is what he really is after all…..
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/10/nebraska-rino-don-bacon-compares-america-first-movement/
It wouldn’t take but a few RINO’s, five perhaps, like Bacon, who are either facing being primaried anyway and, as you suggest, switch R to D, or are retiring or choosing not to run for other reasons, to flip the Speaker to Jeffries. Scary version….
True, but you have to call them what they are…he is a slimy one for sure…want nothing to do with this derelict RINO
Now, the RINOS are trying to get all to sign on to a “Unity pledge” similar ploy to what the RNC tried to do with PDJT.
7 of the 9 have signed, agreeing to support the caucus concensus nominee.
Nobody said it was going to be neat or pretty, in fact for years you have been assured it was going to be BIG, and UGLY.
Trying to wrest power, away from those who have held it for generations, is like kicking a hornets nest, they WILL respond with stinging anger.
was Palmer on of the 7?

Tom Emmer cannot stand Donald Trump and played a pivotal role in sabotaging MAGA candidates in 2022, which contributed to the party’s underperformance.
It’s astonishing but once again revealing that he’s even a candidate for speaker.
Republicans are a party of posers.

It’s all staged so that an Omnibus Spending bill is the only way to pass a budget. Got it.
Subject to correction, I believe all spending bills must originate in the House and, without a Speaker, I believe it’s impossible to functionally do that unless the GOP can pass a resolution to expand McHenry’s powers as interim Speaker Pro Tem to such functions. Discussion?
My bet is they’ll ram another Speaker in there and pass another CR the day of the deadline in November. Throw some more bread to the prols and fluff the wallets of their donors and masters.
Emmer should be asked if he supports the lawsuit in MN trying to ban Trump from the ballot.
Laura Loomer on Emmer…
how and hell did emmer ever get inside the gop and then elected?
wtf!
Trust the plan
I would recommend a NO vote for any of them who voted yes for the last CR. I would also recommend a NO vote for anyone on certain committees, such as banking, finance, rules, foreign services, etc. Most on these committees have deep swamp roots.
FIGHT! Don’t be pussies. FIGHT!
They’re ALL mostly RINOS except for 2 or 3.
Name even 1, and provide reciepts, please.
The UniParty gives us a choice. Chose from losing every time or Chaos and lose.
I will never vote UniParty again. The slow train to socialism still gets us to socialism.
I LIKE CHAOS, and I LIKE seeing RINOS pissed.
The angrier they ARE, the MORE I like it.
Burn it all down, its NOT called “the Big Ugly” for nothing.
cant provide receipts because someone else already bought them
Me too Dutchman! I am getting too old to watch all this nonsense AND too wise to “give in
to the nonsense. My husband reminds me that yelling at the TV is also not a good response so
I basically call my rep EVERY week lately. Theyn know me in DC office as well as local offices
NOW THAT I LIKE!!
RINOs are Sleeper Democrats.
RINOs have turned the GOP into a Clown Show.
Exactly….sleeper democrats….all the more reason to tear it down, they can’t pass legislation without the congress in session.
We have more time than we think to allow this to play out…..
No surprise most, like this imbecile Sessions here in Texas, range the “-R” spectrum of outright losers to barely marginal jerks who shouldn’t be withing 500 miles of a dotGov legislative seat. Go to https://libertyscore.conservativereview.com/, SEARCH the names then click on them for scored detail. KEEP in mind Conservative Review updates on rolling 50 vote block/s where these scores would be even lower had they included their votes post 24 March 2023 which would have included last 30 May’s “Debt Ceiling” sham and the most recent through this month.
I’m thinking Nunes would be closest to a honest broker, and competent in the mysteries of Congress and procedures.
Well, they made history by ousting McCommie after getting historical notoriety from the number of votes to get him in there. Why not make more history by voting in the first non-member of Congress to the Speaker position? I’m hard pressed to think of a more deserving, and qualified, fellow for we MAGA types than Devin. PDJT is often mentioned but that’s a pipe dream. A fun one, no doubt.
Works for me!
I saw a McCrthy clip in the waiting rm of my drs office this am. McCrthy said it would be ‘dangerous’ if they don’t get a speaker. I don’t know if it was the look in his eye or the way he looked up as he said it, into the camera, but my spidey sense went up that it was a dog whistle, that what he was really saying was, while there is no speaker, NOBODY IS GETTING PAID
[by globalist “donors” for Anger Mgmt, Voting Yes or No, …]
I hear his “dog whistle” loud and clear, that what we want is NO Speaker; if He’s agin it, I am FOR it.
Byron Donalds for sure.
Rep Collins puts out a platform list for next Speaker…
One is “no more having to listen to Frank Luntz at retreats”….😁
LOL!
Using the Conservative Review’s Liberty Scoring (100=conservative, 50=rino), we get this…
CANDIDATES FOR SPEAKER-DESIGNEE
Byron Donaldson is the best of the bunch. I believe of all of them, Byron has the best chance of getting done what needs to be done. I will be calling tomorrow morning early.
The parties themselves have become a lucrative business, so now it’s party over country. Little real work with awesome benefits and if you don’t like what you’re selling you make carve outs for the political class. One law for all is what needs to happen. I think a big way to solve this is make the politicians live in the communities they “serve”, no squads of security allowed. Think they would keep screwing over their constituents if they had to see them everyday?
Fortunately you cannot just legislate terminating the Electoral College and replace it with the popular vote. We are a Constitutional Republic designed to give the states an equal voice in the selection of the President. Otherwise, the most populous states and urban centers would have complete continuous control over the policies dictating the direction of this country, administration of the rule of law and our Constitutional rights. Note that the aforementioned is what the RINOs, Democrats, uni-party and globalist strive to achieve with respect to their goal of the demise of US sovereignty and the Constitution to increase their wealth and power off the backs of the US citizen.
FIFY
We have NOT been a Constitutional Republic designed to give the states an equal voice in the selection of the President since 1913 and the “passage” of the 17th amendment.
What the h3ll is going on up there ???

Currently undecided.
Going to candidate forum tonight.
I’ve liked some things from all of them and there are a few things with each I’d have to get over. Maybe a 1-3 I could not support on floor. Just like any election.
I’ll keep you posted!

House speaker fight: The real reason why Kevin McCarthy still hasn’t been replaced
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/house-speaker-fight-reason-kevin-mccarthy-hasnt-been-replaced.amp
Tom Emmer:
One, overly large gust of horse manure in a pressed suit.
Typical ambulance-chasing lawsuit jockey.
Definitely all hat and no cattle.
We can totally bully them to run Byron Donalds
Rich Baris “The People’s Pundit”
@Peoples_Pundit
Tom Emmer cannot stand Donald Trump. He sabotaged his allies’ campaigns thinking moderates in Virginia, Rhode Island and Connecticut would make up the majority in place of them.
That’s why they’re attacking. They have good reason to attack him.

Tom Emmer called Donald Trump this weekend, as he seeks the speakership, two Trump-world sources say. The conversation was short, & appears not to have helped Emmer with his much-reported “Trump problem.” Influential Trump-backers like Steve Bannon &
@DC_Draino
still attacking
Looking over this roster it appears to me that who ever wins this honor will be an unusually weak speaker.
(Slightly reminiscent of Warren Harding the Republican Nomination in 1920.)
Another “secret ballot” …
Can’t have the people knowing what you really think.
You got it right about Mike Johnson, but a friend recently asked why I thought Byron Donalds wasn’t chosen and I had this to say –
I think his wife is still involved in the lawsuits where she tried to help a corporation wrest a charter school company away from her business partner and friend, and when that didn’t work, joined up with the corporation to create almost identical schools, including the name, to overtake the market. She is an accountant and Byron is in banking, it seems they ride the fence and switch political leanings (Byron was a Democrat) and associations more as part of their business plan than anything else.
Helps to know an Anger Manager is someone who is a RINO in that he doesn’t really want the status quo to change, where donors enrich politicians in different ways, including jobs to family members or backing companies they may own. It’s the job of the politician to create an image as fighting for causes, usually conservative, without really changing anything, and it helps to have businesses or non-profits of their own ready to more easily funnel in money.
Once done, it’s like hanging an Open for Business sign.
