PREPARE FOR THE THREAT – (NY Post) – The NYPD will be out in full force Friday in anticipation of possible mayhem stemming from the global “day of Jihad” called for by Hamas’ ex-chief — which has left religious centers on edge and some Jewish parents scared to bring their kids to school.
During a meeting with Jewish community leaders Thursday, Deputy Commissioner of the NYPD Intelligence and Counterterrorism Bureau, Rebecca Weiner, stressed that police were bolstering their presence out of “an abundance of caution” and that there were no credible or specific threats to the city.
“This is to deter anyone who would seek to do us harm in this city,” Weiner said, “We still are not seeing any threat reporting suggesting violence in New York City.”

Its amazing how “journalists” do not understand the definition of evidence. Evidence is proof of something. The contention here is that there will be terrorist attacks on civilians in US cities. Obviously you will not have definitive evidence as the predicted event has yet to occur and may not occur.
However, evidence in support of that contention comes from the Hamas official calling for a global “day of Jihad”. Further proof in support of the contention would be the encounters with muslims from the Middle East entering through our wide open border and the presence of muslims already in the country. Additional proof in support would be the previous attacks by muslim terrorists on civilians in US cities.
All of these facts may be used in support of a contention that something will happen in the future. They may not be proof beyond a reasonable doubt or clear and convincing evidence but they are most certainly at least some evidence supporting the contention. Evidence in support of a prediction of future events becomes more clear once the event has occurred and we can then look at all the evidence leading up to the event. Then you can decide what evidence was useful and what evidence was not in proving that an event would occur. For now, before the event occurs, there is definitely evidence in support of such a prediction. That doesn’t mean it will or will not come true.
“Credible evidence” is just the opinion of the person hearing the evidence. Evidence is not more credible simply because you like the source of the evidence or it adheres to your worldview. A jury hearing sworn testimony and reviewing documents decides if certain evidence is credible or not. They do not get two piles of evidence, one labeled credible and one labeled not credible. They decide based upon all of the facts presented to them. So whenever you hear some journalist calling something “credible evidence” you can be sure that person is both a liar and an idiot.
And they ignore the evidence that millions of military age men from all over the world have been allowed to cross into our country. They may occasionally catch and reject a few, but it is evident that they do not know, could not possibly know, the motives for every single one of them. Therefore, they have exposed us to risks, some already being seen at the level of individual crimes, already seen is the increased willingness to make demands. Should this escalate into larger attacks, I would call those who allowed this criminally negligent. Redefining illegal as legal doesn’t’t make it so, and any reasonable person could expect that this open border would result in many harms, up to and include terrorism.
