With the latest poll in Iowa showing President Trump with a commanding 51/14 lead over Ron DeSantis, the people in control of the DeSantis operation are now lowering the bar to say a second-place finish is good enough to continue.
Team DeSantis has essentially camped out in Iowa for the past several weeks, pulling all their resources from other states as the polling for their candidate has consistently gotten worse.
The goal of reboot 4.0 was to focus heavily on Iowa and to a lesser extent New Hampshire. However, after weeks of campaigning in Iowa, the polling has only gone backward. DeSantis has lost half the support he originally carried as the Florida Governor tours the state.
(Politico) – […] “We believe it’s already a two-person race,” a top DeSantis campaign official granted anonymity to discuss strategy told POLITICO. “But the reality is, on the ballot there are other choices, and our goal is to get this down to a two-person race on the ballot, especially as we head into South Carolina and beyond into March.”
Speaking ahead of DeSantis’ weekend trip to Iowa, the official said “a strong second-place showing gives us an opportunity to go in[to] New Hampshire and show success.”
Expectations-setting is a tried and true element of every campaign, and DeSantis’ team remains bullish about his ability to make up ground. But coming four months before the first votes are cast in Iowa, the sentiments from the DeSantis campaign official reflect the yawning gap that’s emerged between the Florida governor and former President Donald Trump in both national and Iowa polls.
DeSantis’ operation has looked to Iowa as a springboard. Shortly before the first primary debate, the head of his allied super PAC, Never Back Down, privately told donors that they anticipated a win in the state. (read more)
With the increased desperation and the retreat of big donors, the DeSantis operation really needs the Bush network to step up big for the Fox Business Debate scheduled this month at the Reagan Library in California. Dana Perino has moved into position.
The Bushes, Prescotts, multinationals and professional Republicans funded by Sea Island billionaires will now start to overemphasize the “chaos Trump” narrative, in order to wear down the psyche of the base Republican voters. They really need mental fatigue to erode the Trump support, and you can see the efforts taking place in the alignment of narratives shared by the Democrats and the Republicans.
The big problem the GOPe face is that now the larger voting base have caught on to the “illusion of choice” playbook. Ordinary voters can see how the schemes are being constructed, and the support for Donald Trump continues to grow. This was evidenced in the Iowa -vs- Iowa State football game earlier today.
Crowds in the Iowa football sphere were heavily enthusiastic about President Trump, and Ron DeSantis at the same event seemed even smaller than usual. Whoever keeps coming up with these efforts to compare and contrast is really not helping DeSantis at all. The Florida Governor looks small and silly despite being supported and carried around by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

Make no mistake about it, the regime is terrified seeing this
They’re branding this man as an insurrectionist & domestic terrorist and this is what he’s greeted with in a state that voted Democrat for decades
They’re out of options. MAGA is inevitable. pic.twitter.com/FMCSEhDsAK

Wow. Rough day for @RonDeSantis who is having a tailgate at the Iowa versus Iowa State football game today. Tons of people have already arrived in their Trump jerseys and Trump hats!
Doesn’t look like a Ron DeSantis has any support at the football game today where both he and… https://t.co/rxy7OPcEvp pic.twitter.com/iHwKVZ7mgB

According to “Behind the Bastards” Podcast, Meatball is such an introvert he wore earphones all the time he was in Congress so he wouldn’t have to talk to anyone. So what in the hell is he doing running for POTUS? One of his former colleagues called him an a$$hole.
Apparently the introvert trait came from his Polish mother who avoids the limelight like the plague.
Ronnie, don’t you know that The Second Place is for Losers ! ?
Ronnie, have you forgotten that Bushites could not make their Jebbie a winner ?
Ronnie, the Bushite Dana Perino is NOT your salvation !, so your only wining solution is : DROP OUT !
Reading the article about meatball thinking 2cd place is OK I couldn’t help but think about a quote straight ou from the “Most interesting man in the world” site.
“He once (Trump, my insert) ran a marathon race backwards just to see what 2cd place looked like” LOL
Ronnie wants to be just like Dubya.
Sums up the Uniparty.
Which is why more and more blacks and Hispanics are saying, “I’m votin’ for Trump FJB!”
Next rebranding: Ron!
Even if every voter currently supporting other candidates were to give all of their support to Ron, he would still be behind Trump by a good 20 points in the polls.
Dear Ronald, it’s been fun but it’s time to move on. It’s not me it’s you, but we can still be friends.
Why you still want to be friends with this guy – a proven liar and backstabber? Just a rhetorical question?
Anecdotal but I get at least one text every day from Nikki Haley. I block and delete each one. I think the GOPe sees her in De Santos place to usurp President Trump & MAGA.
Replacing DeSantis with Haley is akin to replacing George W with Mitt Romney. The only difference is that they have slightly different personalities. The way they will govern is exactly the same.
Nimrata isn’t even the only woman of Indian descent among the prospective Republican candidates.
I just call her Nikki Romney to save time.
Just say NO to Nikki!
And I get the same number from Team Vivek.
Why are people still giving that man money? What evidence do they see that this is anything but a waste of their time and money? The only explanation is that they expect the indictments to take Trump out for them because that is their only chance. It won’t work. The indictments are only making Trump exponentially stronger and more popular with we the people.
They also hope to negotiate a veep spot, for insurance and futures.
Hahaha! You can’t stab someone in the back and get rewarded! Remember Romney!
They’re going to cheat!
“We believe it’s already a two-person race,” a top DeSantis campaign official…
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, like Secretariat and Sham was a two horse race at the Belmont.
At this point it’s really Trump vs. the US Government. No Democrat in this economy and level of lunacy can win without fraudulent action by the US Government.
The big problem they have is that DeSantis is playing the splitter strategy against other eGOP candidates. At 70-30 or 65-35 they could at least claim there’s another choice. At 70-14-5-3-3-2-1-1-1-*-*-* it’s just Trump and some people whose names sound vaguely familiar.
But, then comes the problem of the 2-man race, where Trump would pull 80-85%. Yes, there are Liz Cheney Republicans in our party who need to be shown the door. That’s the 10-15% of the party that elects Adam Kinziger types whose job is to protect Democrats from voters.
Replacing these people with what I’ll call Tulsi Gabbard Democrats – people on that “side” who have been abandoned by the Commies and the tranny kooks and Permanent War Party Democrats is going to be key.
That’s why this is probably the last election where the Republican Party is a viable party. There are too many people – myself included – who will NEVER join the Republican Party again. I will never give them money. I am unaffiliated which in Colorado I can vote in any primary I want. The Republicans are DEAD TO ME. The ones in Congress are corrupt useless plutocrats who refuse to act. And those who would act are blocked by Republicans whose job is to protect the Government Party from us.
Because of people like me, and a lot of Democrats who would rather be caught dead than call themselves “Republican” (I totally get this. It’s like admitting you drink Bud Lite these days.), there needs to be something NEW that people can join that us neither Democrat nor Republican.
We’re a movement. We’re a new party. Our members are made up of people from both sides of the post Civil War status quo.
It’s time to force people into a Government Party and a MAGA Party.
There’s already a MAGA party, it’s called the GOP and DJT is the head of the GOP. Note the RNC is a committee, not a party, run by Ronna who was elected, not by we the people, but members (aka RINOs) of the committee who share the same uni-party clubhouse with the Democrats. The RNC/ DNC/RINOs/Democrats (aka the collective uni-party) all feed at the globalist’s money laundering feeding trough and are all paid off (aka employed) to do their bidding by advancing favorable policies that are detrimental to the US citizen, the rule of law, our Constitutional Republic and the Constitution.
You’ll figure it out eventually.
Well, apparently you haven’t. The RNC has always been a funding platform for the GOPe/RINOs under the guise being a so-called political party. Interesting that the RNC and DNC have the same objectives/goals and that doesn’t include we the people and the Constitution. Plus they co-exist and operate under the uni-party banner. Pull the blinders off. DJT and MAGA are the GOP and it’s voting block represents the majority of legal registered voters. That said, 2024 is going to be clash between DJT/MAGA and uni-party (globalists). The former is the only actual political party in this confrontation.
Interesting. I for one don’t care if people call me a Republican. I don’t donate to the party and only donate to candidates. In my state you need to be party affiliated to vote in the primaries. IMO you can call yourself a Republican and be a MAGA candidate while using the Republican apparatus to your advantage, especially with uninformed voters who still vote Republican because of the name.
If you donate to a candidate, you’re donating to the party. Candidates are required to give money to the party/committee. If you donate through WinRed, it being filtered through the party apparatus. For example, https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2021/02/trump-raised-record-sums-for-state-parties-rnc/
Men in black are feds
Second place is just another way of saying First Loser.
DeSantis is terrifired of unscripted situations and looks like it.
They are hoping the GOPe will not allow Trump to be on the GOP slate, looking for the excuse, grasping for straws.
Why don’t the Bushies, Clinton’s, Obama, ever go away?
FauxMAGA is not a substitute for UltraMAGA.
Dana Perino and super Democrat since a baby, Harold Ford Jr. both have a look about them that just says “I hate Conservatives and I especially hate those who are Republicans.
I have watched Dana on Fox enough to recognize her split personality and her loyalty to the Bush clan.
I have watched the Ford machine in Memphis, TN for over 40 years, and they are a nasty bunch even if Jr. has manners.
Beware the Democrats as they hope to shape this election toward another Democrat.
I can only pray we get a Trump presidency surrounded by those loyal to our country and the American people.
good luck ¡Ron!.
you’re as wanted at a frat house as the clap
Electile disfunction:
“Mommy … I mean, my wife”. Nothing need be added to that quote. Ever.
What’s Wal-mart Barbie got to say about this? Does she have to stop measuring for curtains and her tiara? Does she still have to finish out her term as First Lady of Florida and live in that mansion?
2nd place. Well I never. I’ll be over here on the fainting couch.
Would you believe third place is good enough? How about …
I had two helpers come to my door to pass out flyers for DeSantis. I’ve NEVER had someone come to my door for a candidate before. Neither have my parents. Both could tell I had a selection already, so they asked and I told them Trump. The 2nd person said he preferred Trump too.
