Nothing to see here, according to doctors paid by Washington DC to monitor the health of the politicians in charge of our nation. Despite the series of cognitive episodes and freezing on camera, Mitch McConnell is mentally fit, healthy and recovering from his slip and fall. Yep, that’s their story and they’re sticking to it.
As requested by those in charge who want to assure the public not to believe their eyes, capitol physician Brian Monahan sent a letter to Senator McConnell outlining the medical evaluations following two episodes, in which the Senate minority leader stopped talking for roughly 30 seconds in a media availability.
In the letter to McConnell, Dr Monahan recommended “no changes in treatment protocols” for his recovery from an earlier fall that left McConnell with a concussion.

An early sign of Alzheimer’s, yes. My uncle had TIAs, noticeable because some occurred when he was in front of the congregation as a Pastor.

Twenty years ago, I suffered a series of TIAs which produced symptoms identical to The Turtle Episodes, likely as a consequence of heart arrhythmias induced by drinking too much caffeine in the form of Mountain Dew.
After the first TIA, many tests and scans were done. No physical evidence of a medical problem or of tissue damage was found. Nothing. The same scans and tests after a second TIA also revealed no physical evidence. When I stopped drinking the caffeine, per the advice of my doctor, the heart arrhythmias stopped and there were no more episodes.
What the doctor’s letter demonstrates is that the medical profession working in day-to-day medical practice inside the DC Swamp is just as corrupt and just as devoted to narrative engineering as is anyone else working in the DC Swamp.
Possible protocol RX for Mitch – more caffeine ? But seriously if he has an arrhythmia , that should be noted , but the report was essentially all neurologically targeted to rule out only neurological causes -Sort of like The Sherlock Holmes story “the dog that didn’t bark”/ “the doctor that didn’t diagnose” – meaning the dog didn’t bark because it knew it was his master – same thing with doctor here ? …
In my case, in the progression of each episode, the arrhythmia stopped just before the TIA began, and so could not be captured by a test or a scan. Their presence was inferred because I know what an arrhythmia feels like and noted that one had occurred immediately before the TIA began, likely causing a small clot to form which then traveled out of the heart to the brain.
At least that was many years ago for you and no recurrence apparently – With Mitch , who knows ? He’s on the short end of any issue for sure . If there is “something “ , he’ll get a “clean bill of health “ regardless and it will never be willingly disclosed -just have to see what happens

The NY Times did an article on the ‘esteemed’ Dr Monahan some years ago. For example: “ In 2016, it was Dr. Monahan’s assessment of Justice Antonin Scalia’s health at the time of his death — including sleep apnea, coronary artery disease, obesity and diabetes — that influenced the decision to decline an autopsy of the justice, The Associated Press reported at the time.”. Possible, but not probable. Capitol physicians get LOTS of practice treating geezers who aren’t physically fit. But the doc can only say as much as the patient has authorized him to reveal.
