There’s been no bigger critic of the DeSantis operation than me; however, to be fair in this gotcha question – DeSantis did outline some of the numerous voting irregularities before getting to the nub of his position and saying, “Of course he lost. Joe Biden’s the president.”
Where DeSantis goes horribly wrong in his political approach is to then blame Donald Trump for the outcomes of the state decisions during the 2020 COVID election. The states run the elections, not the federal government. Ballot harvesting corruption and the fraud in the voting process was a specific regional issue albeit on a massive scale.
DeSantis has this sanctimonious streak that runs through him from top to bottom. President Trump named him accurately. The Florida governor has very few friends, and those who know him in his professional political endeavors do not find him to be a man of integrity.

I have never seen one instance where the PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION ballot count was shut down at 1am before the count was completed in one major American city let alone five or six major battleground cities SIMULTANEOUSLY having the Republican observers forcibly removed by police, the doors locked, the windows cardboarded over with pizza boxes…and then the ballot count secretly continued with sacks and suitcases full of ballots being secretly delivered in the back door!

For many of us, me included, before really knowing about DC…..and probably primarily thanks to this site (and of course the Trump presidency), DeSantis would be the equivalent of Bush Jr.
The start of Bush, Jr was 2001 (inauguration), 2000 election, so basically 1999 when ramping campaign up. 1999 is 24 years ago. I would probably see DeSantis as I did Bush at that time. They are both “young”, big state governors, etc. Back then DeSantis would be the one in the 50s/60s polls for the primary. That he is not at 50+% (besides the huge Trump presence) very much shows how many rank and file Republican voters actually do see the light now.
And I think regardless of the Trump future, after he is president (if he can wrest it from them) or sooner if he is not on the ballot, we are not going back to the old way.

After Trunp. the rest of the R candidates are, at the very best, a collection of political midgets. In terms of winning the presidency they are irrelevant. Trump’s commanding lead is, as he has pointed out recently, an American phenomenon.
