To be able to insure one’s home their $80K electric rig will have to be parked outside and well clear of the structure, or their insurance will be astronomically unaffordable.
Wouldn’t doubt there are folks trying to design a way to firebombproof garages, perhaps with a pool under the floor that burning cars can be automatically dropped into to save the home.

That might work. Friend of mine had an expensive e bike. Caught fire in the garage. Tried putting it out with a fire extinguisher , then a water hose. Finally he was able to push into the canal behind his house.
Lithium is a flammable metal. Water ignites it. Trying to put out a lithium fire with water is the worst thing one can do.

I know very little about EVs, but my neighbor has one and does charge it at home and yes it’s part of his electric bill, but it’s not a time efficient method to get a full charge so he usually takes it to a charging station. It takes about 45 minutes. He claims it costs less than a tank of gas.
There are high rate chargers available for homes for most vehicles, but installation and the units can be expensive, they all vary depending on code and location of the point where power enters the residence.

There’s already mobile trucks/vans with charging stations for stranded EVs.

Imagine how ugly it would be with women sitting for five hours in a strange place . . . 😬
A great ancillary business would be to provide security for the 5 hour waiting period.
It should be law to provide it.
Want to profit of the EV farce by building a charging station?
Then you will protect those trapped there for hours at a time.
The cost thereof could help tip the cost equation against the stupid fire bombs.

The societal costs of this boondoggle will be astronomical, disaster on roller-skates, infuriating.
I think President Trump mentioned on one of the fabulous Rallies that electric cars can only go a max of 3 hours b4 needing charge up that would take almost that much time to ReCharge.
One of our grocery stores has 3 or 4 charging stations. In the 4-5 years they have been there, I have seen one vehicle getting a charge. Small town.
There is one EV charging station at my local Giant food store and every now and then I see someone’s humongous RAM 3500 diesel pickup truck with modified with dual big rig exhaust pipes parked there.
It’s the spot closest to the entrance of the store.
It also is adorned with plenty of stickers and such which some may consider ‘politically incorrect’ on several topics and enthusiastically disrespectful of FJB.
If the truck’s owner is as bad-assed looking as their truck nobody is going to say jack-crap to them about their parking spot section.
I personally enjoy the “throw sand in the gears” aspect of the tactic.

Stop and Shop here doesn’t charge (money) for charging (cars). A friend bought a Prius plug-in hybrid, and gets free juice at the S&S while he’s inside. Hasn’t had to buy gas or pay for charging yet.

President Trump likes the response, he likes the people showing their agreement with him and their love for him.
Yes, he likes their participation but I noticed that too much of it throws him off and he has to quickly refocus his speech. It takes away from the flow of his speech.
He normally will talk up a bit to get back on track and regain focus. He does like response but there is also inappropriate outbursts that are distracting and it must also be jolting to those seated around that person.
During the solemn music wrap up interruptions are quite inappropriate indeed.
