This is a totally freehand writing for CTH readers, not written with any intent other than our conversation.
For a long time, I have written various forms of an article and deleted it – crumpled it up and thrown it away… because it’s just so hard to write about.
However, an insightful comment by Dutchman today has just pushed me to write it. Unlike most writing, this is no notes, few citations, just thoughts.
You guys are having a discussion about Larry Hogan’s commentary to CBS News.
In the middle of the discussion, someone writes the familiar and common sentiment about Ron DeSantis, a reasonably decent and good governor, doing his big politically stupid run for 2024. Dutchman responds:

The WHOLE reason DeSantis was the most popular Governor throughout his first term, was a CON;
EVERY action he took as Governor, was a political calculation planned and intended to create the image of “the free State of Florida” and RDS as “Trump lite”.
It wasn’t that “he changed” after getting the $millions, he was ALWAYS terrible at connecting with voters, a terrible campaigner, and he was NEVER MAGA; it was all a “PR.” or advertising campaign to create a totally artificial, and unconnected from reality IMAGE.
And it is that IMAGE that people “fell in love with” and it never existed.
This is important because if people don’t understand this, recognize they were “conned” and understand HOW they were manipulated, they will keep falling for it, every time.
However, once you understand your own vulnerability to being manipulated, accept you need to CHANGE how you view things, THEN you won’t need someone else (like Sundance) to point it out to you, again.

Perhaps, let me take you back to the spring of 2022 in my thoughts, and show you just how subtle, weird and difficult it is to really understand the nature of this political world we are in right now. A political world where nothing is what it seems. I have been inside this research rabbit hole for over a decade, so bear with me.
[SIDEBAR – Y’all know how I dug, and dug, and dug, and dug into the GOPe after the 2012 election to figure out just how the powers that be are able to construct the illusion of choice. From that research I was able to drill down into the raw material, the stuff they actually did, that outlined the concept of the “splitter strategy”, which I then held in my notes until 2015 while watching for the replay. The work back in 2012 helped me to foresee what would happen in 2016, and like clockwork, it rolled out exactly as expected.]
In the winter of 2021 and spring of 2022, every Spidey-sense within me said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is setting himself up for a 2024 run for the GOP nomination. Every data point that I was looking at aligned with it happening, and that included the part that no one was paying attention to in 2016.
♦BACKGROUND – In 2015, when Marco Rubio filed to run as a candidate for the 2016 GOP nomination for President, then little known one-term congressman Ron DeSantis filed to run for Rubio’s Senate seat. WTF? DeSantis’ only real qualification to run for that Florida Senate seat was a big donor assist from the Club 4 Growth. CfG supported DeSantis in Congress, big time – and CfG was the financial mechanism behind DeSantis in 2016 to take the Rubio Senate seat if he won the GOP nomination. Just keep this in mind.
In the latter part of 2021 and early 2022, all of the obscure stuff in the background of DeSantis looked like he was being positioned to run in 2024.
It was January 6, 2022, when someone (Pushaw) organized that influencer confab at the governor’s office. However, and this is where my own intellectual bias comes into play at times defeating my cynicism, I kept telling myself there’s no way DeSantis could be so stupid.
No way, regardless of all the mechanics that were paving this path, that Ron DeSantis would be stupid enough to run against a likely reelection bid by Donald Trump. For over six months, I kept putting the human factor at the forefront and forcing myself to ignore all of the datapoints that indicated DeSantis was being managed to do this. After all, c’mon, he’s not a stupid guy…. I kept telling myself.
Even in July 2022, every time the thought crossed my mind to revisit this issue, I kept making the mistake of denying the data, denying what was visible, simply because the alternative to stupidity was almost unthinkable in scale.
♦The Alternative – If DeSantis wasn’t stupid, and if DeSantis was indeed going to run for 2024, the alternative to stupidity was a long-term plan… A plan that would have been laid out essentially before his first campaign in 2018…. A plan that times to the exact same moments when Paul Ryan and the other GOPe member of congress announced they were not seeking midterm reelection for Trump’s midterm race…. A plan that coincided with buckets of former CIA operatives running for congress in both the Democrat and Republican races in that 2018 midterm…. A plan that had Eric Holder working in California to trigger the first ballot harvesting test run….
If DeSantis wasn’t stupid, the alternative was that he was part of a larger operation being carried out by the real power brokers who control U.S. elections, the billionaire donors and control agents, ie. “The Big Club.”
Now, stay with me… Under this scenario, if DeSantis wasn’t stupid, then he was always a controlled ‘political’ operative waiting to be triggered and have his career boosted by the Big Club crowd who funded him. Names like Bush, Clinton, Cheney, McCain, Romney and McConnell all circle this controlled orbit.
The odd, and seemingly impossible, DeSantis registration to run for the Florida Senate seat of Marco Rubio aligned with this almost conspiratorial outlook; except it wasn’t based on conspiracy theory, it was just a big datapoint, sitting there – staring back.
All of the data aligned that way, but I kept telling myself to ignore it – because at a certain point human reason has to be placed into the analysis, and there’s no way that DeSantis would be so stupid. Surely, regardless of how much he was controlled and influenced, he -the person- would have the ability to say, “No, this is just silly.”
That said, throughout the spring and summer of 2022, 80% of the objective data, and even more when considered in historic context, indicated DeSantis was going to enter the 2024 election at the behest of the people who control the Republican National Committee, the Republican Governors Association and the various political fundraising committees in both the House and Senate along with PAC’s and Superpacs.
In essence, if DeSantis was indeed planning a 2024 White House run, then all of the datapoints reconciled. If he wasn’t going to run, then there was just a lot of coincidental questions that didn’t make sense in the activity.
When faced with that scenario, you apply the scientific method and try to prove the opposite of the thesis.
Could I prove: DeSantis was *not* going to run and was *not* under the control of the Big Club (Sea Island et al)? The answer was no.
Now it’s July 2022. The headlines were all about Donald Trump and the conflicts with the NARA over documents and presidential records. Something was coming.
I told myself to put away all of the DeSantis questions until that moment with Trump was triggered; then wait and see how he responds.
If DeSantis is abhorred by the outcome of the DOJ/FBI targeting of Florida resident Trump, then he likely was not part of the plan to use him. However, if DeSantis was not abhorred by whatever was being cooked up, well, that would tell a big story.
On August 8th, 2022, when the FBI raided the home of Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent out one short twitter comment from his “personal” page and then went fully silent and invisible.
Despite his extremely high Florida visibility, literally almost every single day of the year holding press conferences and media events, DeSantis went fully into a bunker after the raid, and for five days was completely silent and missing from the public. There was no opportunity to question DeSantis about his feelings on the raid.
Instead, the people managing the governor broadcast two pre-recorded video messages about innocuous subjects and never made a public appearance.
Simultaneously, the people around the governor restructured a newly branded national campaign, and launched a national tour outside the State of Florida immediately after the five days in the bunker. These tours are planned long in advance, so someone knew something.
Mid-August 2022, the national tour, the book, the media use, the change in tone and personality, the new branding message, the people visited for fundraising, all of it… carefully scripted, long planned and being executed on cue. All prior polling showed a double-digit lead in Florida. Democrats had pulled out of financing; the Democrat Governors Association didn’t put in a dime to support Charlie Crist, and yet DeSantis was banging a big tin cup raking in tens-of-millions.
Immediately, I said that’s it… that’s enough. The evidence is overwhelming… It’s August 2022, and its crystal-clear; DeSantis is running for 2024, and I was confident outlining every step in the customary sequence that would take place including the timing of his announcement to May 2023. It was all obvious.
But back to the scenario…. Back to the discussion y’all are having…. Back to my original thoughts in 2021….
….If DeSantis isn’t stupid, that means?
It means exactly what Dutchman has just said. “This is important because if people don’t understand this, recognize they were “conned” and understand HOW they were manipulated, they will keep falling for it, every time.”
It means Ron DeSantis was a Big Club operation put into play in 2018.
Start there, review the timeline, review the events and everything makes sense. Republicans are very good at creating the illusion of choice. They are doing it again, only this time they are failing.

The more difficult endeavor isn’t pointing it out.. it’s defeating the cognitive dissonance you’re up against.
Possibly kayfabe between the two, because how else could DeS have *such* a poor kickoff to his campaign, unless purposeful, AND 45 does call names and insult those he is working with behind the scenes. But he also calls his true opponents names and insults them, and *that’s* not kayfabe. So, my general opinion, FWIW ($0.00 🤣😂) is that Ron is a 🐍.

Have noticed a lot of pushback from the trolls on Ron — far more than usual, which indicates it’s a sensitive topic.
Actually, I think the leanings of many who were in the Trump camp moving toward DeSantis are real. I was quickly awakened to that fact when someone I know who posts on facebook about the destruction of our norms and malfeasance of the government (so much so that she regularly gets given time outs by the FB-tyrants) posted support of RD. I was further enlightened when one of her followers called DeSantis “hopefully the next President.”
These are what I thought were people fully awake to what we face with the Great Reset and the perfidy of our government in general. So I was surprised they turned from Trump so quickly. I had a pre-warning when she got upset with me for posting about the republicans being as bad as democrats and referencing the uniparty but I thought they would at least recognize that DeSantis has been lying for a long time about his candidacy and that the Florida voters have been conned by their governor.
There is still a lot of blindness to the concept of the uniparty and the fact that almost all of the republicans in Congress and elsewhere are not serving we the people nor the most basic foundational principles of our Republic. That realization depressed my hopes quite a bit.
A Caesar – Brutus ticket will never be.
If that were the case, he might as well choose Judas Pence. Kari Lake is the better choice.

Her qualification for VP, is the same as karmala, fir the opposite reason: Insurance for the POTUS against Impeachment or 25th.

Incorrect. The criteria for a VP pick are as follows:
(1) Is the person ready and capable to be POTUS on day one?
(2) Does the person deliver a state that the presidential candidate otherwise would not win?
(3) Does the person unify 2 battling factions of the party?
The answer is no on all 3 for Kari. She’s a nice lady but at this point she is only qualified for one of the lesser cabinet positions.
Your crierion are out of date, “old school”, and are myths (lies) that have been repeated so often they have become recognised as “truths” and similar to “the partyremains NEUTRAL until their is a nomined ( i.e. as they run the primaries).
On #3, the two factions are RINO and MAGA, and they have irreconcialable differences; THEY have NO INTEREST in partnering with US for the “good of the party” and the feelings mutual.
Only a RINO, RNC pick like Putz Pence or RDS would meet qualification #3, and PDJT would doom his Presidency if he allows the RNC to dictate such a choice.

The criterion you list, have always been the STATED criterion, they “sound reasonable” and support the myththat the POTUS candidate “picks” their running mate.
The rrality is, and its right in their by-laws, NOCandidate can run AS a Republican,without party approval. And that would apply to the VP.

In reality, its a NEGOTIATION, with the RNC technically having veto power on any VP “choice”.

In fact, Obama was a 1st term US Senator, who accomplished nothing and yet he was groomed to run for potus with really very little to no experience at all.
Obama had zero exec experience yet the MSM successfully disparaged Sarah Palin as not being experienced enough to be VP even though she did have Exec experience as Governor (and mayor). That really shocked me that so many Americans (w/masters degrees) were incapable of seeing the obvious.

The refusal to protect election integrity is the critical evidence against DeSantis.

So, here’s the thing. DeSantis HAS done a lot of good for Florida. That does not mean he’s not in the big club and controlled. It means the Republicans, who used to stand for something, knew that if DeSantis made the right plays, he would become popular in FLA and possibly elsewhere.
I ask you to think about people you may have know, or known of, who had that perfect public face, and behind the scenes they were conniving narcissists that would back stab you at a particular time of high value import, to them. This is an overly dramatic, but true, example: think of all the coaches, and priests, foster parents, uncles, and therapists, who ostensibly were there to help the children. In reality, they were seducing the children. It’s really, in my mind, the same thing.
Harsh, I know. But, someone either has integrity in their words and deeds, or they do not. It’s really that simple. DeSantis will not be on a Trump ticket, IMHO. I think Trump learned a lesson with Pence.

Trump would not select DeSantis as his VP. Too dangerous. The DS would simply impeach Trump until he was convicted and replace him with DeSantis.
I do know Rs, who I respect and who voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020, who say they LOVE DeSantis and want Trump to bail out.
Haven’t spoken to them in a few months. Would be interested in what they say now.
It’s up to us to leave them with no choice BUT to vote for Trump, and then hopefully go away.
Re your first sentence. It’s an oft repeated talking point. But, In hindsight, I can’t think of a single thing he’s done FOR FL that wasn’t done by his predecessors. Can you?

Well, I originally thought DeSantis would make a great VP for Trump…. and then run for potus in 2028 after gaining some experience as Trump’s VP.
I was persuaded that DeSantis was doing a great job for FL and I have friends in FL who loved him. Not sure what they think now. Will need to ask….
Only in hindsight, and because of DeSantis’ recent actions and inaction, and Sundance’s analysis do I see DeSantis differently, as someone who is part of the uniparty political establishment that seeks to mock, insult and abuse the American people… again.
I also view DeSantis running in 2024 against Trump as a betrayal of someone who helped him get elected. I don’t like that. Who else is DeS willing to betray… so easily… and to get the FL legislature to change the law to accommodate him?
Sundance isn’t protesting anything. He’s just pointing out the obvious. The problem that he’s up against is Corporate and Government sponsored programming which has left the masses with a major case of Stockholm syndrome.. The only way to break the cognitive dissonance is with pain and suffering. However the kayfabe always on display is designed to splinter the masses with false hope and false idols in order to break them and lead them back to the plantation.

Spectre, Sundance is not bashing DeSantis. He is simply stating what is happening and what has been happening for a long time.
You may take it as such because you cannot accept that you may have fallen for the con. Every wing flap of the Uniparty is planned and managed. Sundance points out what he sees and what he thinks based on research and facts found. There is not a lot of “feeling” or subjective conjuring in his posts. The truth is just that. You can believe it or deny it or ignore it… but its still there. So if the truth makes Desantis look bad, how is that Sundance’s fault?
FWIW – when he does comment in a subject manner – he tells you that up front.
I used to think the same as you until I could no longer ignore the scripted outcomes and especially the big club globalist anti American first connections and actions, and now I can’t “unsee” the truth.
If they are on the same ticket I would have to think that Trump became GOPe.
When in Congress, DeSantis voted for the TPP. DeSantis voted against the wall. Reconcile that with what you’re thinking.

I became aware of Desantes during the plandemic lockdown and yearned for him to be the governor of my state instead of the tyrant we were stuck with. What struck me as odd at the time, though, was all the media coverage he got and how little push back he got. This was when covid critics were being hammered. Later Sundance opened my eyes. We have to watch very carefully for who is having doors opened and by whom. It has made me think lately that Devin Nunes could be a good choice for VP.

For normal people $1,000 is a nice chunk of change. They keep it in a safe or the bank. It is used to buy goods and services… to live.
Now imagine the chunk of change you have is $1,000,000,000 and most of that is spread out amongst land holdings, investments, ownership in companies, etc etc. Because you have so much control you receive an annualized return on it of 20% = $200,000,000.
Now imagine this is year over year, for decades and centuries. Now imagine this same model diversified to a nameless and faceless corporation with $1,000,000,000,000,000 in assets under control. You literally have a stake in everything.
Are you with me… they own everything. They own Harley Davidson, they own Anheuser Busch, they own the Dodgers and everything else. They aren’t the CEOs and they are not the board members… they are the money.

When you are at this level everyone is a pawn. Hannity, Fox, Project Veritas, Bud Light, etc etc. All of it is already owned and all of it can be directly channeled to your goals. You don’t care if people notice because when they ditch one thing, you own the other, when they ditch that you own the other too. You even have controlled assets being built up.
That is where we are at today and the problem is that the average person is too dumbed down and demoralized to see it. But that is changing.
I think the clot shot, Ukraine and the Trump indictments are conspiring to wake people up enmasse. This is leading us to the next stage of all out confrontation.
I think that will be when the first controlled state works to remove Trump from the ballot. That will be the moment (I hope).

Years back I was doing quite a bit of research on the 18 families and discovered they were really frontmen for the small group of elite who were really in control. I was hoodwinked by Bush, Romney, Cruz… snapped out of it for Trump… fell back into it for DeSantis… but your precise description of the timeline of the show of the GOPe candidate has fully convinced me that there is only one choice.
My biggest question is… Trump seems to be alone. He has always seemed to be alone. He would hire people who seemed loyal to him, but then they would turn on him.
How in the world can one man change an entire global system if a trillion men are against him?
For the most part, I think he is alone in DC but is surrounded with love and support in America (outside of DC). Look at what he accomplished in his first term!

The Uniparty cannot lose with a DeSantis presidential run. The key to their plan is to keep Trump off the ballot by any legal means necessary. Optionally, they would be better served without Biden at this point. Both efforts are currently underway.

I have a good friend who for 20 years wrote political speeches. He mostly wrote for dems but also wrote for repubs. The thing that stood out is when he said “we write what the voting base wants to hear, not the truth or the way it actually is. ” It’s all a ruse and ,thank goodness, President Trump woke me up to the huge corruption that we are surrounded by. I think for me it was the period leading up to the 2022 election.
DeSantis clearly distanced himself from both MAGA and Trump while running for re-election.
Something was off about him. It didn’t fully clarify until his poor reaction to the Mar a Lago raid. Went downhill ever since as more and more was revealed.
Once you see him for what he is (and is not)….you can’t unsee it.
This puts me in mind of one of my ex sister in laws. My brother fell head over heels for an obviously manipulative and, dare I say, evil woman. Everyone in his circle, friends and family, saw through her veneer and warned him off, but he was not to be disuaded and fell for her scam hook line and sinker. When the inevitable happened and she left him, taking everything that wasn’t nailed down in the process, he was bereft and couldn’t understand how she could do that to him. My advise to him was to acknowledge that the person he thought he’d married was just a mirage and a fiction she created. The person he loved never truly existed except to the extent that he believed in her self described version of who she was. It took him a long time to realize that what I was telling him was the actual truth and to have the blinders fall off. Sundance just cut to the chase with this analysis of Desanctimonious. Don’t fall for the con. And I say this sadly as a recent resident of Fl who came as a refugee from another state because I believed in the emperor who it turns out has no clothes.
I know it looks like we have a two-teared justice system, but do we? Or are we being manipulated, just like in this DeSantis case?
Ask yourself, why are the Republicans being so soft on all the democrat’s illegal actions listed in the Durham report, all of Joe and Hunter Biden’s crimes, the J6 protest false arrests, the Trump impeachments, the 2020 election steal, etc?
Now apply what Sundance has outlined in the DeSantis case, only on the national scale, and between both Party Clubs working/plotting/scheming together to control all of us. Like Sundance has said many times, It’s a big Club, and we are not in it!
I worked for two decades in state politics. Not Florida, but I relocated to Florida early in the pandemic when my state became frightful and I had family I wanted to be near. As the mandates and restrictions continued even into the fall – even in the “free state of Florida” – I started poking around the political world in Florida, not knowing anyone but knowing the process and how to get to know the politically connected people in Florida. That was when I was advised by the politically connected in Florida that DeSantis had presidential ambitions, and had identified the Freedom lane through a primary was largely unoccupied (besides Trump, of course). He *calculated* that speaking for Freedom gave him the clearest path to winning the GOP nomination (besides Trump, of course).
Yet knowing that, his staffers who knew the pandemic charade for what it was said DeSantis wasn’t going to get ahead of any Freedom-restoring public policy until he saw Freedom groups begin to make an impact, get positive news coverage; he wouldn’t lead but he would follow if given sufficient cover.
In late 2021 – early 2022 I had half an inkling to help with his gubernatorial reelection campaign. Nothing senior, been there, done that in other states, left that level of politics for a reason. But the side cash would’ve been useful and I knew how to do it, thought he was a decent governor relative to most states, especially the state I left. So I started poking around the political connections I had begun to make in 2020 and knowing the relatively small world that professional political campaign consultants are and how allied organizations have influence in a campaign I tracked down key inner-circle members of his 2022 reelection campaign, even had conversations with some of them. Which was where I found the DC consultant class already had firm control. And realized it was not a good fit for me.
That was in the first couple months of 2022. I hoped against hope that he might have been a different animal than all of those signals were flashing. But when the Mar-a-Lago raid happened and DeSantis went silent for a week I knew what I was seeing unfold. And Sundance’s insights here on CTH helped get me more confidant that I was, in fact, seeing what I knew I was seeing.
Ambition. And the company you keep. The two biggest tells of what a politician is all about. And hoping against hope when we see those tells is what got us to this place in US history in the first place. Even seasoned former professionals like myself who know better can do it. The uninitiated, even my family members who know what I did, and the politically powerful who I knew for two decades, have the hardest time believing the awful truth of it. But we persevere. We have no choice. It’s our calling, God put us here, now, with our minds and experiences coming together to act to help humanity return to his designs for us. For mankind to be free.

Overwhelmingly we have heard that DeSantis is better than sliced bread, the best governor ever. But I never believed the hype — or even that he is “the” governor – but simply a face on “the” plan. It is his puppet masters, the big money, executing and loudly attributing all to DeSantis — “best governor in the country!” I do not see DeSantis as any part of the brains, the ideas, the proposals, any bravery or responsible for the execution of anything. He is a minor B level actor — with Big Money and Power in control. In a way, he seems little different from Biden, fully controlled. But hey, if elected, he gets to enjoy all of the perks of the office, live in the WH and march in step to “Hail To The Chief.”

Reading this, I think Dutchman is right. You have been running some very well-chosen pics of DeSantis’ face from time to time, and they came to mind as I read your post. It took a long time for DeSantis to grow to to look that way.
