The labor unions are trying to maintain the momentum against French President Emmanuel Macron’s unilateral decision to raise the retirement age. However, despite nationwide majority support, on the 11th day of a national strike there are fewer protests disrupting commerce.
On the positive side, the offices of Blackrock were targeted and torched. So, we know the focus is generally on the right multinational target. Meanwhile, President Macron is in Beijing, China, getting slapped around by the panda paw.
.
PARIS (Reuters) -Clashes erupted in Paris next to a Left Bank brasserie favoured by French President Emmanuel Macron during a day of nationwide protests against a pension bill that he has pushed through despite widespread opposition.
La Rotonde, whose awning was briefly on fire as protesters threw bottles and paint at police, is well known in France for hosting a much-criticised celebratory dinner for Macron when he led the first round of the 2017 presidential election.
Protests since January have gathered huge crowds against the flagship reform of Macron’s second term, which lifts the retirement age by two years to 64.
But the rallies and strikes have also coalesced widespread anger against the president, who is often the target of banners and chants.
“Strike, blockade, Macron walk away!” protesters chanted in the western city of Rennes, where police fired tear gas at protesters who threw projectiles at them and set bins on fire.
The protests have otherwise been largely peaceful, though violence has broken out on the fringes in cities across France. On Thursday, a Credit Agricole bank branch was ransacked in Paris.
Polls show a wide majority of voters oppose the pension legislation and the government’s decision to push it through parliament without a vote. But a source close to Macron said that was not what mattered. (read more)
I had to get a paper bag to keep myself from hyperventilating at that Blackrock HQ video
French Revolutionary justice would be the right course of action!
Made my day
I am of two minds, on these yellow vest protests.
On the one hand, they are protesting against Macron, a WEF’er, and yes targeting blackrot, and thats good.
On the other hand, they are protesting over, in effect a benefit reduction, in a pension system that was built on the heals of half a trillion $/year that the EU stole from us, through trade sanctions and underfunding NATO, and so at our expense.
So, you see my dilemma?
Had PDJT not had 2020 stolen from him, he would have gone after this thievery, as he did CCP’s, with tariffs and these people would be facing much harsher cutbacks.
As PDJT said, regarding NATO “O.k. now that you’ve started paying current obligation, lets talk about the PAST DUE.”
One can separate the government from its citizens
For instant our federal government is a corrupt evil Cabal, and most of its citizens are not
Doesn’t bother me, as long as the Frenchies are shoving it up Macorni’s ARSE I feel good. The PO PO took a beating today in Paris. Macaroni will probably tell the PO PO tto start shooting the protesters when he gets back from China
The graft of the Elites is orders of magnitude greater than the pensions of the common worker.
And its only now that people are starting to see that the world doesn’t have to be this way. It never needed to be this way.
We live on a planet created by the rich and powerful, for the benefit of the rich and powerful.
We are millions, and they are few, yet we willingly spin their treadmill making them richer, and more powerful. When we finally step off, and it stops spinning, what do you think they can do? NOTHING!
On the 4th July down tools and life for two whole weeks. No purchases, no Internet, no nothing. Stay home and reconnect with your families, neighbors, and God.
May the 4th be with you!
I see your point There is another way to look at this too. (it I understand your input correctly…and apologies in advance if I am off base).
lets say the entire citizenry of France has PAID INTO the social benefits programs.?
would it not be true, they have every reason to be very very angry that macron has single handedly decided to move the retirement age up a few years? Think about all the decisions a person makes …especially the wage earners below middle class…which appears to be quite a large number in France. And having the carpet yanked hard. It’s not just the added years to work that is the problem…it is the plans made expecting services to be provided based a life’s work! I am not especially a huge fan of social security but I understand also that here in the US millions of people depend on it…for better or for worse.
I remember a long time ago…the one and only “inventor of the internet” al gore exclaiming his promise to keep the “lock box”. It was of course a huge lie. Fact is, just like the strategic oil reserve, the USG central state choices to use that anytime, and for the most dubious reasons.
For instance…if social security deductions had been invested properly, safely, there would be no reason to have a social security funding issue. The real issue is misuse and mismanagement and allocating those funds for whatever pet projects the corrupts can dream up. And they have the most terrible dreams no doubt.
I will also say this…the protesters in france are on the streets for more reasons than just retirement and services…from impossible lockdowns to joblessness and NO GO ZONES held my militant jihadist to privacy/spying laws..and also the insanity of the economic reality of “reset”…there are lots of people who are angry about lots of things.
The “press” has done what it does best in covering this ….a narrative that this is solely related to “extreme leftists” angry about being forced to work a few years longer. That is of course nonsense.
the propaganda machine in France is at least as strong as it is here in the US and canada.
just my two pennies
God Bless America
the french love to protest
and I am glad they do
There have been repeated statements that the protests are over the process, or lack thereof, rather than the outcome. Diktats suck for those being diktated.
Th French are angry as to how the pension reduction came about.
Macron claims he had full authority to do this.
He did not.
Yes, the French people do no like the reduction in pensions but what really annoys and frightens them is the illegal and high handed way Macron put this law through.
He took it all upon himself so to speak.
There was no input from the other elected officials, like Obama he used his pen and his phone.
If this is not pulled back some how the French fear there will be no end to what kind of pen and phone crap he will impose on them.
Have you seen the bond market? USA pensions have been wiped out!
If Macron is in China
He is probably on his knees begging for both energy and support.
Without either his days will be numbered
A suzerain may have other ideas that do not include retaining him.
Xi was probably thinking “Lunch or meet with wus Macron and Frau Fond of Lying? Oh what the hell, they flew all the way here.”
Reports are that Macron and von Der Lying are there to try and change China’s mind on its support of Russia.
Alexander Mercouris read parts of an editorial article Financial Times written by Chinese official prior to the visit this morning on his YouTube.
I agree with Sundance–Macron is getting slapped by the panda paw.
And I would add that it’s quite a spanking Macron is getting. Macron getting chastised with such elegant words by the Chinese.
Made my day!
I also wondered if Macron was there asking for help and support to protect him from the citizens of France.
He really is in big trouble over there.
Not only are the citizens pitching a fit but now many of the police, firemen, an many of the union workers like bus and train drivers, garbage collectors, subway workers and so many more are also on unhappy and on strike.
The momentum of the physical side of the strike will not last as intensely but the mental ideology will.
This anger for Macron will not go away, it will only build.
I do not know if it will end in the kind of success that Walesa had with his movement in Poland.
France is not under quite the oppression that Poland was, but things are not good there and the people know it and know things are going to get worse if Macron and his kind are not stopped.
A lot like we feel here, if our uniparty is not stopped we are in big trouble.
I hope China continues to support Russia
in the sense that the giant panda is the only
country capable of being a stop gap to
Biden’s war in Ukraine.
That said, I am also a little uneasy that
their involvement will continue the war
indefinitely. I am hoping that they broker
a peace deal instead.
Why can’t he buy solar & wind power from Germany instead?
Oh, wait … nevermind!
[Although, TBF, France leads the world in getting the largest share of it’s total electricity from nuclear power at about 70%.]
So Dana Loesch was talking about this on her radio show wondering why the Mainstream wasn’t talking about it. Also The Afghanistan withdrawal debaucal report, dropped while Joe boarded a plane for Camp David for his weekend off.
Dana Loesch is a Glenn Beck has been and also a false conservative, but you listen to whoever you like.
I really honestly don’t care for her style, but I do like to keep up with conservative points of view.
Dana Loesch, the Glenn Beck has been.
GlennBeck-ite.
There are rumblings about concurrent protests to exit NATO being demanded by the same crowd. Apparently they are furious about the NATO bungling and potential for a wider war in Europe in addition to the untenable infiltration of non-assimilating refugees that are forced upon them by the same government snobs that are raising their retirement age. Apparently there is also linkage being made between their loss of retirement benefits and the money being spent on the non-assimilating refugees flooding into France under Macron’s policies.
They’re certainly furious with Macron and his government, but the contempt and outrage seems much broader and the acrimony much more deeply rooted than just the retirement age change. There is a broad and intense rejection of an entire recent series of unilaterally imposed actions by the Macron regime that have fueled the collective anger and intense disgust of the French public toward Macron and the new imperials who operate his administration without finesse or apology.
This is no mere tantrum. The protestors have a broad base of support who appear to be unconsolably angry and deeply afraid about what these condescending and unilaterally acting idiots have done to their private lives and hopes for the future.
And the young people are probably thinking i will never be able to retire if they keep giving money away to these refugees.
And they’ll be correct.
Absolutely right, this is the shape of things to come until the people who built the nations are put first (that’s just an old platitude under globalism),similar to voting your way out of it.This goes deeper than pensions.
Look closely! That money is already gone! The WEF coup de Grace to ALL Western nations that Schwab and Soros hates dearly, when they announce the immigrants to Europe and North America have consumed ALL funds “set aside” for retirements and welfare from this day forward and by-the-way, BlackRock owns ALL a assets in your county, including your home mortgage and car load; which they are calling TODAY! If you don’t have a sign and broken bottle, you soon will have!
Thank you Glissmeister for your valuable information. i had no idea.
I agree. The “elites” are destroying their country and its future-just like they are trying to do in the US. When they start dragging people out of the buildings they are entering maybe someone will take notice for real. That is the next step.
Very likely!
As we know, extreme actions cause extreme reactions. This is what we’ve always feared: nations submerged in violent protests that spin out of control and become indiscriminate in their choices of targets, or in their proportionality of the harm they inflict.
However, the arrogance of this New World Order crap inspires little sympathy when it comes to retribution (a nice, legally sanctioned hanging suits my purpose!), yet I insist on the fact that destruction of private property has no valid excuse.
But, again, this has always been the concern, i.e., people, when pushed to the brink by the arrogance and indifference of the elites–even good and kind people– can lose control over their emotions.
The Joe Biden’s of the world know or care little about this aspect. For instance, what did the apparatchiks in the left-wing, radical Weimar Republic think was going to happen when the Deutschmark lost almost all its value? That people would take it in stride, philosophically and all that? Of course not! It’s just epic arrogance. That’s what it is!
“…the new imperials who operate his administration without finesse or apology.”
That is so much of the problem, you have expressed it perfectly glissmeister.
A lot like our overlords who shove their new laws and rulings down our throats with little regard to our opinions or feelings of anything any more.
We are not allowed to have an opinion, we are required to obey.
It is much the same over there and Macron knows he is losing control.
Feel the fear Macon, feel the fear.
Dropped on Holy/Maundy Thursday and the first full day of Passover no less. I’m just surprised they didn’t wait until the usual 4 p.m. on Friday.
I am fast approaching The realization I will never be able to retire. I will need to work until I’m dead. I work harder and get paid more than I ever have, yet I cant afford vacations or anything for myself. I spend my days “off” keeping three 25+ year old cars running so I and my wife can just get to work. I rent a run down house from a slum lord who doesnt even live in this country. But its all I can afford. Rent on houses where I live have doubled in 5 years.
This isnt sustainable and I fear its going to get way worse.
There is a reason the borders are wide open. End game stuff is approaching fast.
I feel you pain. Just trying to live incredibly modestly seems all but impossible. No luxuries – ever. The smallest problem seems to be a crisis with no resolution.
Join the Club.
Same here.
So sad. Below is not ‘bragging’ it’s just what we did. It’s not for the feint of heart. And both people need to be 100% committed.
Being either blessed, lucky, prescient, or all three my wife and I saw all this coming 25 years ago. When our oldest graduated high school in 2008 we quit our jobs, sold our house (at a big loss) and moved onto our gracefully aging 35ft sailboat. We are still on the boat, it’s still gracefully aging, we’ve seen the world at 6 knots, worked a few dozen odd jobs, and seen things, done things, and made friends that never would have been possible had we not taken the risk. Our average yearly expenditure is 36k. Our income from SSA and a family gas/oil royalty business is 70k. We pay no taxes.
We have saved more money in the past 15 years than in the 20 years we worked full time as a lawyer and a teacher. Most of our assets are now in gold, silver, lead, and brass.
It’s possible to get out of the system. It takes a plan, some courage, and yes a little bit of money to start. But it can be done.
I’ve owned a sailboat of one kind or another in a marina slip for the last 15 years. I have never lived on it however it is an inexpensive way to go.
Some tips if you would like to give it a try.
35 feet is generally the smallest you can live on in a marina. Liveaboard costs a little more.
Slips come in increments of five feet, but you get a 4 ft overhang. For example; If you have a 40 ft slip you can get a 44 ft boat in it. If boat is 45 ft, you need a 50 ft slip. this knowledge will save you thousands over the years.
finally, there is no half life on fiberglass, and often older boats are built way sturdier than newer ones. I would hate to be a sailboat salesman because they never wear out if taken care of.
Here’s what I did 3 years ago. I sold my house and it’s contents in PA and moved to FL with a reasonable amount of clothes, 3 heirloom pieces of furniture, my dog and my car.
I sold my car, bought a used F250 and a used 34’ camper for cash and bought a small property with a well, live oak trees, a few palm trees, and room for a great garden, flowers and food in a rural but safe area surrounded by ranches.
It’s cheap, requires only about $1100 a month depending on if I travel, and I’m not lining the pockets of any elites.
It’s a simple life, leaving me lots of time to hopefully make a difference in the world.
Here is what we did. Sold our home in the city and bought a home in a rural community. The main home is 2200 and my son and his family live in it. My husband and I live in the apartment above the garage and my daughter in-laws parents live in a new modular they paid cash for. Our home is on 4 acres with a well. None of us now have a water bill. We each take turns paying the garbage bill. We have septic so no sewer bills. We then sold a rental home and paid this property off. The grandkids are home schooled. We started a garden that is growing each year. All of this allows our adult kids the opportunity to save for a down payment on a home in a red State. This property will be sold as soon as I can retire and we will all relocate. Living on one piece of property sharing all of the bills is a life saver at the moment.
The family unit sharing bills and same pot of food is how it used to be.
Take a deep breath, step away, and all that money you spend on rent, buy a piece of land. One acre, anywhere, and you can get land for as little as $6000 an acre.
Sell your vehicles and buy a used RV. Fit it out, drive it to your land, and live in it.
Plant an orchard, grow vegetables, get side hustle jobs to pay the property tax.
Anything else you decide to add is a luxury. The Jones’s suck, no one ever needs keep up with them.
Being fully responsible for yourself becomes easier as you go along, but the freedom, and freedom of being debt free is PRICELESS.
I find it pathetic that this is what it took to get them pissed enough.
Most of the French protesters are Paris-ites 🙂
France citizens are always protesting against their government
Yup, not like the millions of US patriots that immediately took to the streets …
Is this the newest globalist position regarding everything; “NOT WHAT MATTERED”?
I have had to do a full reassessment of my views on the French Revolution. Kinda jonesing for another one now.
Agreed:
Here are some great videos on the subject:

Caress of Steel…My favorite band ever! RIP, Neil…
There’s no bread, let them eat cake
There’s no end to what they’ll take
Flaunt the fruits of noble birth
Wash the salt into the earth…
Burn, baby, burn!
Macron got some nerve and absolutely no self awareness by going to China attempting to lecture Xi Jinping
What clowns both Macron and Ursula von der Leyen
I highly doubt Macron is lecturing China,
More like begging on his knees!
Covid would end this back in the good old days
There is not one nation on this EARTH that will be able to vote themselves out of the tyranny imposed upon humanity by “Our Betters” AKA The Global Elite… there is only one way out of tyranny. The time to accept this reality is now.
Needs to happen here. 100 million protesting in every city in the US.
And take no shit off the cops.
Either they protect us or take the other side.
Get everybody out in the open on who is who and which side you are on.
They didn’t stop Antifa nor BLM.
Screw them, too!
If only 100’s of millions 😪 here had the backbone of thousands of France…
they do, they are just fragmented and unorganized.
the threshold of pain has not yet arrived…but the levy WILL break.
it’s inevitable. The world economy is so close to collapsing you can actually feel the tremors, figuratively speaking.
we are in stage 4 revolution- transfer of power.
awareness has already happened. Most..the majority..a sufficient number already understand the conditions are not going to improve and have connected the reason: a corrupt failed state.
in stage 4…there are many events. We are seeing these events play out now in an ever accelerating pace.
and this is global…not isolated to the US.
when the real economic misery and heavy duty unemployment crisis happens and the food supplies collapse and energy becomes so expensive people begin to steal fuel and food…when the violence hits every area…then the most crucial part of stage 4 goes to level 11.
we are close..just one large natural disaster away….just one more major political mistake…
this is not going to be a easy time for many people…they will respond however, because there are no other options…
some people complain that we should not wait…that this can be avoided. I am frankly not so inclined to put any stock into that notion. History is very useful to understand that it is pain…personal direct pain that organizes people.
So unfortunately, THE PEOPLE will not take matters into their own hands until they have nothing at all. Nothing to lose..to put it in clear terms. And everything to gain by pushing back hard and transferring power.
we will need LEADERSHIP..and it will come from the most unlikely people. unlikely to be political people. Unlikely to be even presidents. The revolution will be televised.
God Bless America
The French prepared for this, they did not just decide one day to run into the streets and yell and scream and wave the flag.
They tried to store food and other necessities and are sharing with those who have small children or the elderly who were not able to store as much as they needed.
Some who lost jobs and homes were welcomed to lie with those who had room.
These are not just happy go lucky fly by night people out and about shouting and throwing things around in the street.
Some planning and thought has gone into this for many months previous.
They are working together and helping each other.
There is strategy involved.
we are also spread out over a vast area of land
we are also a culturally, socially, ethnically, politically, theologically, spiritually, DIVERSE country.
food for thought: one of the reasons that communists states take off and are easy to establish happens to occur in countries that have the least amount of diversity…ethnically mostly. and a single use language. So in the instance of control from a power central state, history shows it’s more likely to occur in nations where there is more cohesive non diverse people. What is quite extraordinary is that despite the US having a incredibly diverse population, it would appear that concentrating power to a central state has been largely accomplished…and while not a true communists state..the controls are definitely there…matters that are at complete odds to the model of a limited government as idealized by the founders. I would seem there is a sweet spot, so to speak, for diversity in order to reduce the limits on controlling central governments. Too little diversity and things go socialist/communist. Too much and you end up with an unempowered, disorganized population that can’t identify beyond its differences to reel in power.
just thoughts
God Bless America
wont happen unless the Rallys are used to organize the initial groupings, and the communication stays between each cluster (county group with other county groups, in state and out)
The police are not your friends. Never were. Antifa and BLM were just the reveal.
Many of the police and firemen in France are working with the protestors now.
How the military react will make a difference.
We shall see.
Viva-la-France!
Right on…coming to neighborhood near you.
Getting time here in the States.
Less than 4 years ago; the USA had a President who maintained peace, stability and a genuine level of continuous communication with all world leaders.
See how quickly the mentally ill can destroy a sane and stable world relationship?
Yes, Abigail S., too true.
Macron is Biden, our Trump is Le Pen, for 2024.
La Pen won, Macron cheated. La Pen ballots were clipped and spoiled.
And stained and marked and smeared with all kinds of fluids and grease and anything that would get them thrown out Christian.
According to the Daily Express, Macron is 5’7”.
The Chinese, in general, pay a lot of attention to height (and ears), and do not respect short leaders.
Xi probably commented in passing, I didn’t know they stacked Sh*t that high.
5’4″ would be more like it
5’7″? Is Emmanuel trying to squeeze in an inch or two somewhere?
3 million people, 3 million
And still he remains in office
Doesn’t bode well for us
I give Macron two weeks to resignation
The boy toy and his rich old lady are the kind of people who need to have every cent taken away and make them live like they deserve.
Would be nice to see them put in a zoo.
This is outrageous on top of their 30 hour work week. How will they be able to sit outside the cafe’ (which I’m all for once in a while) for a morning coffee and a pastry? That takes time…hours…work just gets in the way.
LOL
“On the positive side, the offices of Blackrock were targeted and torched. So, we know the focus is generally on the right multinational target. Meanwhile, President Macron is in Beijing, China, getting slapped around by the panda paw.“
As some quasi-French wrench once said about her own violent protests…”Let them eat cake!”
Imagine if some politician tried to wrest back just some of the freebies to our less-than working class slobs…they would hear the screeching in Paris!
I’d love to go there just to blow off a little steam and pratice for what’s coming in the USA.
Xi will tell Macron: “what could you gave us in exchange of the Russian gas I’m plenty of, nothing special, you agree, as We already have stolen all of your hitech secrets?”
French workers have every right to be angry seeing their money going to Ukraine and into the pockets of the corrupt politicians while pension benefits get cut.
I think many, even most, are not primarily concerned with the pension issue, but rather with how Macron bypassed the elected Parliament . Fiat dictatorship.
Another protest…
According to reports…the Zelensky visit to Poland.
A lot of Polish people had protests about the visit.
MSM not showing those protests is my guess.
Goes against the narrative.
Can we import some Frenchmen to the US?
No violence of course. But god love those French. They do protests correctly.
The mainstream media mentions the pension reform, but not the French people’s anger at the unilateral adoption by Macron of this law. I noticed one man who was carrying a sign saying Macron Dictator and I believe that this is as much the concern as the reform measures.
Wishing them success.
It’s not just about the pensions. Look at who’s protesting—lots of young people. They’re sick of everything that’s being thrown on them.
Out: The Storming of The Bastille.
In: The Storming of The Blackrock.
“Make The National Razor Great Again!”
So why is it ok to eliminate ss in the USA? Like Mike Lee and other Republicans suggest we do? In the meantime, they vote sending millions to Ukraine for their pensions, and basically all of Europe, and eliminate its own workers pensions? Sorry, but the USA is sick and wrong.
Billions to Ukraine.
Its not OK to eliminate anything that people are FORCED to pay into. People should be allowed to save for their own retirement, or go to the wall with nothing. The decision should be theirs. They shouldn’t be taxed to fund corrupt Government.
I guess my question is Why isn’t this getting wall to wall coverage?
They are not protesting for Liberty. They protest to maintain Socialism at its current level. But hey..watever makes the Globalist Scum nervous.
Not necessarily….the pension issue was simply the straw that broke the camel’s back is all.
Macron needs to explain the the people that they have to work longer because the money is all going to third world immigrants now.
UncleGrumpy: I agree with you, and I’m sure the people of France will understand.
Quite certain they have that figured out already.
They need to hit the elites where they live – their restaurants, their clubs, their offices. The government represents the elites and the elites can change the direction of the government – or they can suffer with the proles.
The French are not protesting because of raising the retirement age the average age there is 20 years old to 30 years old through there because their moneys not worth shit and they don’t want to go fighting Ukraine
Is this a Color Revolution by the Globalists, or something else?
The French have the very best national anthem. Real blood curdling stuff.
Let us go, children of the fatherland,
Our day of glory has arrived.
Against us the bloody flag of tyranny is raised; the bloody flag is raised.
Do you hear in the countryside
The roar of those savage soldiers?
They come right into our arms
To cut the throats of our sons, our comrades.
To arms, citizens!
Form your battalions,
Let us march, let us march!
That their impure blood
Should water our fields.
Sacred love of the fatherland,
Guide and support our vengeful arms.
Liberty, beloved liberty,
Fight with your defenders; fight with your defenders.
Under our flags, so that victory
Will rush to your manly strains;
That your dying enemies
Should see your triumph and glory!
To arms, citizens!
Here’s another view of them going into the building:
I thought that blonde woman beat Macron???
The French proved that even a paper ballot election can be stolen.
Many thousands of ballots arrived pre-spoiled, with little tears that voters might not notice but which were rejected during the count.
Marine LePen is still fighting though.
Macron like all despots again acting like a despot. Macron should have known that unilaterally making changes to a contract with the citizenry after the COVID nonsense and all the other BS under him would not be accepted by the masses. And yet Macron did it anyway like a good little boy.
Dang, the land of Charlemagne, French Nobility and Napoleon reduced to little Macron. C’est impossible… 🙂
These protests accomplish nothing. The WEF elites have only contempt for the people. And without any real fear for their persons they give the people nothing. Sooner or later they’ll just get tired and go home. And if they don’t they can always start freezing bank accounts and starving them.
You forgot to add Biden to the chart. After all, BlackRock sits in the White House!
The French have balls. Can we hire them?
All good stuff….but,
has anybody been dragged out of the offices yet?
Wouldn’t that be considered anti-Semitic? https://twitter.com/Amar90756106/status/1644079119368597504/video/1
Going after the offices of BLACKROCK!!! Absolutely Beautiful! Viva La France! 😑
The reasons for the protests go far beyond just raising the retirement age to 64. They are protesting the WAY that Macron did this….circumventing the normal legislative process and issuing this ‘law’ via executive directive.
France, if it wants to get rid of the socialist yoke, needs to stop burning it’s cities and destroying it’s infrastructure. The people need to go directly after the parliament and demand immediate elections. Get Le Pen in there.
