Secretary of State Marco Rubio has suspended all international visa reviews and interviews with applicants until all of the consulate staff undergo training on the appropriate review process. The intent is to proactively identify visa applicants who are seeking temporary visas with the intent of claiming asylum status or similar permanent migration.
Each consular staff agent and officer is being tasked with scrutinizing applications to ensure the applicant does not become a “public charge” after entry.
WASHINGTON – The Trump administration has directed U.S. embassies and consulates around the world to postpone immigrant visa interviews while consular officers complete training on new public-charge guidance, temporarily stalling applications that have reached the interview stage.
The State Department told diplomatic posts to reschedule immigrant visa interviews until consular officers complete the training on how to evaluate whether an applicant is likely to become a public charge.
A public-charge determination can make an immigrant visa applicant inadmissible under federal immigration law if officials determine the person is likely to become dependent on certain forms of public assistance after arriving in the U.S.
“In early August, we launched a global training initiative at all of our embassies and consulates worldwide. To accommodate this in-depth training, appointments for visa services will be adjusted,” a State Department official said in a statement.
[…] The administration said Monday that it was preparing to revoke the business and tourism visas of up to 200,000 foreigners who have applied for or are seeking asylum in the U.S., a move that would represent the largest mass visa revocation in U.S. history. (read more)
The move comes on the heels of U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas, a Biden appointee in Manhattan, striking down a prior State Dept ban on visas from 75 countries. However, the judge’s decision does not invalidate visa denials overall, based on independent grounds of ineligibility. As a consequence, Secretary Rubio is ordering worldwide embassy and consulate retraining to enhance scrutiny of all visa applications carefully.

Ha- just shut the whole thing down
I absolutely adore Marco Rubio for understanding to the hilt what immigration really means. I want him to be our next President.
Ted Cruz and many other politicians all know what “doing the right thing” means. When they know and betray that, it just makes me hate them more.
Baloney.
We need another outsider, America First, Trump-like person as president and not more establishment politicians, who’ll go back to business as usual selling our country to the highest bidder.
Where we gonna find one ?
How about that raisin cain
An America First business person who is not from the poison well called senator or congress. I am willing to suffer as the president learns to work government. I would like our government to get smaller and reduce spending. I would rather congress/senate work on impeachment and cut government services than continue to tax and spend like the last 40 years. And yes I think SOS Rubio is doing a fantastic job as are others…bill
I’d love to see a Rubio/Gabbard ticket.
I do get the feeling that before the election Trump will toss a grenade into the H1B visa program. Somehow the absolute disgust we feel about Trump not protecting the American worker has made it past The Witch and landed on his desk. The silly $100,000 fee for a work visa was insulting.
Should’ve set that fee at $500k….
I’m hoping this… and more, obvious deportations. I think the reason things have slowed down a bit is the upcoming Midterms. It wouldn’t benefit elections, if the Dems keep their ANTIFA goons rioting. Of course, without their USAID slush funds they must have funding issues.
Vance will restore it, for his tech bro’s.
I dunno… that fee does require the applicant to be bringing a high amount of value to an American enterprise, AND someone has to go on record as supporting that worker’s presence in this country.
That’s two layers of accountability for each worker that didn’t exist before. It’s not the complete answer for a peacetime economy–but we are at war right now.
When we ramped up to become the arsenal of democracy in WW2, we did many things that we wouldn’t–and stopped–doing after VJ Day.
Just a little oopsie there. Should have let the 75 country ban take place, now we the ENTIRE WORLD, haha!
I had to laugh when I read this piece, recalling either Sundance or Jeff CHILDERS OD coffee and Covid who remarked, “..when the Courts shut a door on POTUS, he just opens the entire garage”!
4 More Years!!!!
Well done, Secretary Rubio!
At one point, I questioned your credibility and leadership skills-not to mention your MOTIVES- when you were in the primaries against our President.
I have come to believe you share, and understand, our President’s vision for America.
And for that I say, well done, sir, and God bless!
When one compares this administration actions and accomplishments to previous five they are outstanding…bill
Here is the Biden “judge” who told him he didn’t have the authority.
Never underestimate Secretary Rubio’s ability to fall back, regroup, and BOOM!!
Why do they always look like that?
because they are weak and crazy people and everything they do is subversive in an effort to make life easier for weak, crazy people atbthe expense of the normal and strong.
plus they are taking lots of drugs, presciption or otherwise to help them navigate their own misery. we pay for that, too.
What’s been added to their birth control pills and their tat-ink ??
Her fat is all the birth control she needs.
Handy that “Vargas” rhymes with “dumbass”. Use it for future references to said judge.
I would venture to guess they hate themselves so much that they project it onto normal, everyday, patriots and Christians that are happy and enjoying a normal, healthy life, living their best lives despite all the roadblocks the crooked government and judicial system throws at us.
Also, in my humble opinion, most likely they are demon possessed and are owned by satan. They have exchanged their soul for the life they want and are still unhappy, which prompts the drugs they are on, prescription and otherwise.
They have been indoctrinated by the education system and supported by their parents total self satisfying attitude, run by the same crazy, communist individuals, since grade school, middle school, high school and finally college, which contributes to their warped , destructive, hideous behavior. For what it’s worth, this is all my own opinion of these “crazies”.
Will appreciate any other input, from the Treepers, to add to my comment. Thanks
We all have choices, Pat. The gift of Free Will.
More and more, I am convinced that the only answer to account for the massive numbers of people whose lock step aberrant behaviour and actions these days is as you described. The chasm in our nation, or if you prefer, the balkanization of it, is so wide and so entrenched that I can see no (peaceful) way to reverse course so that once more we are One Nation Under God…as defined by America’s Founding Fathers.
That is unless by Divine intervention , which given the moral abyss we have fallen into, I increasingly believe will not come. Not a happy thing to add to your excellent thoughts I do realize. But pretence gets us nowhere except deeper into a world which shows us daily the consequences for turning our backs on God.
“History is cluttered with the wreckage of nations that became indifferent to God, and died.”
– Whitaker Chambers
The evidence is there before us. All we need to do is look…
“I have spent well-nigh fifty years working on the history of our Revolution; in the process I have read hundreds of books, collected hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight volumes of clearing away the rubble left by that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous Revolution that swallowed up some sixty million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat:
Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.”
~Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (of course)
Amen, Betsy
Whitaker Chambers, “Witness”
Good book.
Yes, it is. Clearly demonstrates how influential people in politics allow themselves to be duped, ala Algier Hiss, because he “knew all the right people.”
Funny phrase that…all the “right” people.
What is a “Fair Share”?
What is considered ” Wealthy”? Or “Poor” for that matter. And who defines both…
Who are the “Right” people, and why are they considered “right” and by whom…
Subjective on all counts 😎
PS…I have left a short video at the end of CURSDAY offerings today, sis, which I hope you will watch…you’ll see why. Thought of you instantly.
Good afternoon Betsy. I just came back from the Cursday offerings. I left you a comment. thank you. I truly loved the video and poem.
Greatly appreciate you adding to my comment above with your wonderful way with words. Thank you.
Years of inadequate exposure to sunlight and the subsequent damage to all systems of the body, particularly metabolism.
Where are her oversized horn rim glasses?
Because she’s a Biden “judge”.
Ugh….double post. One photo was bad enough. Apologies for the second.
I thought I was seeing double. And it wasn’t just chins.
More Chins than a Chinese phone book!
She is from the Community of “Kings” … black-robed, liberal, democrat, evil, kings !!!
She has so many chins she needs a bookmark to find her mouth. Which she apparently does frequently.
Apology not accepted 🤪 now go back and retake your training, don’t fast forward thru the videos, and don’t get your quiz answers from your online friend.
🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
No? To forgive is divine as you know, Brant. You’ll just have to, because (ugh again) I can’t forgive myself 😎
s’ok Betsy,
You /we cannot make a mistake if you do nothing .
Thanks,
Becky
It was late, Becky…that’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it 😂👍🏻
huggs ty for your posts… haha all of them:)
💕 😁
She worked for Sotomayer. Small world.
All is explained…
Pig vs Viper
Pig. Mental and physical rot.
Ms. Vargas needs to visit her weight doctor or stop eating. She looks like a lib. Too bad that black robe doesn’t cover that ugly face.
Being around Trump seems to have taught him how to fight. Other R’s should take note.
The other R’s see no money in it for themselves so they aren’t going to lift a finger to help.
And Secretary Rubio no longer needs to report to the lobbyist or voter…bill
His speech at Charlie Kirks memorial showed a spirit of God in the man.
You just couldn’t miss it.
The entire crowd felt his words. He knows God, his work under President Trump is showing commitment to our constitution and us.
God is using him to help save our country.
We will know them by their fruits.
✝️🇺🇸🦅💯
Training is the formal step to firing. Well over 90% of government employees are Democrats. The spooky levels of “they just know what to do” without direct communications is explained by media messaging. It’s not cloak and dagger conspiracy, but it is conspiracy.
Training formally informs then what to do and what not to do. If they violate after training, it’s willful or worse. The response will be swift.
Demographic analysis of government and state ‘workfarces’ quickly reveals most if not all are unqualified for any other job except a government job.
TSA, USPS, AmTrac, and all the general roles.
Training is necessary if you want to hold employees accountable.
Can not fire someone if they haven’t been trained properly.
Firing without training they can file on you in the real world.
I hope all the training is 1 month minimum in person in Washington max of 20 per training session. No online at your in country location watch a couple videos with a couple 10 question “quizzes” and an attendance link.
I noted a few days ago that perhaps Rubio has changed his positions due to his position in the Executive side of things. As part of legislative, he never saw the pure corruption with which the Executive has to deal. As senator in gang if eight, even he didn’t see all the crap going in from the inside.
Shut the door and lock it. We are full.
Shut the door to what, the buffet, and yes, she is full.
I hope this review takes years to complete.
Hopefully and past the next administration…bill
It’s not mandatory for the United States to have immigrants.
There is no federal law requiring the government to accept or admit a specific number of foreign nationals.
Aliens seeking entry into the U.S. have no constitutional right to be admitted.
For those who are applying for legal entry, the government can exclude any of them based on national security, public safety, or other criteria without violating the Constitution.
So what is this “judge” saying?
Charlotte P. B: “So what is this “judge” saying?
She is saying… “Hickety-Bickety-Boo” which translates to “Trip Trump.”
(Now, just for fun, someone should ask her what a woman is.)
The Refugee Act of 1980 has us bringing in people every year. The number determined by the president.
The Refugee Act of 1980 is permissive, not mandatory.
It authorizes the U.S. to admit refugees but does not impose a legal obligation to do so.
Marco and Trump are playing 4D chess with suckers.
Judge Vargas just bumped the Trump Admin back to the last century when all immigrants had to be free of communicable disease and provide proof of self-sufficiency. It’s about time.
Rubio should make visa application review training a mandatory requirement for all US consulate employees ,and only offer the course at the State Department in DC. No “on-line classes”. Maximum class size of 10.
Oh boy…heads are gonna explode.
The country once worked this way decades ago.
i believe there so many illegal are livening here not been completely check out yet,
well done secretary Rubio,
The opposition is standing on the Refugee Act of 1980 – =Title I: Purpose= – Declares the purposes of this Act to be to provide a permanent and systematic procedure for the admission of refugees of special humanitarian concern to the United States and to provide comprehensive and uniform provisions for the effective resettlement and absorption of those refugees who are admitted.
https://www.congress.gov/bill/96th-congress/senate-bill/643
This law conformed our immigration laws to the 1951 United Nations Refugee Convention. Thank you President Jimmy. Congress can amend this open door at anytime, they choose not to.
Correct. Because both parties Want endless immigration, especially the illegal kind.
After what the country has been subjected to for the past forty years, it’s ridiculous that they still assume that immigration applicants routinely tell the truth.
What AlleyCats said: “Shut the door and lock it. We are full..”
And when they start screaming about the definition of full, stick our fingers in our national ears and give a national cheer, “We can’t hear you!!!!! (cue Sgt. Carter)
And maybe remove the French woman who stands in New York harbor saying, “Y’all come on in….” If they’re all so qualified to be Americans, they can go back to where they came from and make that America.
Preach it! ❤️
And maybe remove the French woman who stands in New York harbor saying, “Y’all come on in….”
How ’bout “Get the hell out!”
Dang Mr President, you sure JD is a better option? Marco is cooking!
I believe Trump did that to keep JD as a team player.
I hope when it is time to make a decision between Marco or JD that PDJT will let the people make the decision on who he will support.
Who says it is or should be between Marco and JD?
We have many good people rising in supporting roles, but that does not mean they would or should be candidates in the lead role.
I’ve seen it too many times – people who have done well in a job but should not be promoted, get promoted and fail miserably.
My opinion – the electorate needs to think more out of the box. Dream bigger. Expect more. Keep the engine moving with those who are currently kicking it in their roles. All this President Trump-style winning is still new. Let them keep winning where they are.
Wait and see as he likes to say. Still a lot of winning runway for our VSGPDJT.
The entire visa program , I’m looking at you h1b, needs to be halted in its tracks.
Let’s say for 10 years, then we can review.
Illegal Alien Gets 7 Years in Prison for Nearly Ruining Minnesota Man’s Life After Stealing His Identity
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2026/08/26/illegal-alien-gets-7-years-in-prison-for-nearly-ruining-minnesota-mans-life-after-stealing-his-identity/
Why did this take 7 years and multiply this story by 1 million.
Under Immigration law any alien who becomes a public charge after entry is deportable.
It’s but a step in the right direction
There’s still 50 Million
Illegals among us
Admission of the needy is the reason why we pay more for Everything ! I truly believe in helping our fellow man in times of trouble. The system is not working due to greedy politicians who have abused it for self interest. Close it down!
Old dogs don’t learn new tricks.
Those who occupy the State Department are as corrupt as any government agency if not more so.
Yes of course. It may take a long time for those State Department employees (no contracting to outside people) to generate an acceptable training program for this administration…bill
Another pragmatic move would be to periodically re-review the status of everyone who has been admitted. Actively LOOK to see if they have “become a public charge.” If they have, pro-actively revoke their visa and send them home.
In other words: “when we granted your visa, you promised to do [this]. Now, we are going to, periodically, ACTIVELY LOOK to see if in fact you did.” And if you didn’t, you’re outa here. (It’s called: “Enforcement.”) You made a promise, then you broke it. Yes, we ARE paying attention, and here are the consequences.
I think Stae Dept staff dealing with those 75 countries will require repeated retraining…might take until Jan 2029….
Nice, until you get to the traitorous SCOTUS decision on anchor babies. Such solutions as you recommend would just lead to rapid-fire reproduction levels among the wetbacks. Then, cue the tears and violins, for we can’t “tear families apart, turn children into orphans, what kind of monsters are we!?!!” And on and on.
Checkmate.
I’d like to see the training period continue until late morning on Jan. 3, 2029, and then resume in the early afternoon.
[edit] @L4Grasshopper – You beat me to it fair and square! I hadn’t seen your comment yet when I wrote mine.
Like all other governmentdepartments and agencies, the state dept is totally infecred and infested with the woke virus. So far we’re attempting to reform them. Not sure thats a good idea.
i would love rubio as next president except for laws which were ignored for obuma ? presidence
According to the recent SCOTUS opinion, Rubio is a US citizen. He was born in Miami. (His parents were Cuban refugees who were later naturalized.)
Obama’s actual birthplace was the issue. Kenya or the US?
Stop birth tourism by creating a mandatory 10-month waiting period during the visa application process. If some people have to wait three days to get a gun, surely they can wait ten months to have a baby.
I’m sure that We The People can identify reasonable exceptions, but for my one vote, I want ALL INDIVIDUALS who are seeking a USA Visa, USA Citizenship, etc … to COVER THE ENTIRE COST of our State Dept screening this endless list of applications.
[Of course, such costs would include, not only the application, but ALL COSTS — and ALL means ALL — of additional work as deemed necessary by our Dept of State.]
There is no way on God’s Green Earth that We The People should be paying for these cumulatively MASSIVE EXPENSES … especially when, I suspect, the majority of the applicants will be adjudicated as UNFIT FOR ENTRY to OUR homeland.
Apply the same rule as the country of origin. Take mexico, for permanent residency using monthly income to apply $7400 per month or using savings/investments 298,000 dollars and you must show that it never fell below that for 12 months. All kids of rules for all kinds of situations. Bottom line bring your money and lots of it, no welfare for you in mexico. To become a naturalized citizen takes 5 years.
Easy to see you do not just walk across the border and decided to stay there. The big question who on earth would want to live there permanently or anywhere other than the USA. Not me!
Well… this is where global electronic data collection would have a positive use. It would provide a basis for judging each individual case on its own merits.
Yeah. I don’t like that either.
So, what if the State Dept. tasked an AI to sort through all that collected data and make recommendations according to the State Dept.’s rubric for granting a visa? Human privacy would remain somewhat protected, as no human eyes would have seen the “private” data on each individual, only a machine.
Yeah. I don’t like that either.
But, nevertheless, here we are…
One more step in the process is absolutely necessary:
Once approved, should the entrant become a public charge in the first 5 years of residence the official that approved the entrant’s visa will be summarily relieved of duty and all pensions forfeited. That will give them every incentive to screen these applicants very, very carefully. If the official retires in the interim the pension shall be withdrawn.
The number of approvals will drop by 95% or more if this is implemented.
Good luck with retraining a State Dept chock full of leftists. Halting though a terrific maneuver on Rubio’s part. Nothing to say how long or short it has to be.
The problem is that these consulates and embassies are staffed by leftist bureaucrats who will ignore any training offered by the Trump administration. They will just continue to issue visas to anyone just as they always have.
Time to eject these rogue judges into the ocean
Interesting that the Refugee Act of 1980 is being cited as “requiring immigration” and as some sort of “open door” to immigrants.
The purpose of the Act …. “The United States Refugee Act of 1980 (Public Law 96-212) is an amendment to the earlier Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 and the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act of 1962, and was created to provide a permanent and systematic procedure for the admission to the United States of refugees of special humanitarian concern to the U.S., and to provide comprehensive and uniform provisions for the effective resettlement and absorption of those refugees who are admitted.”
Key words being overlooked:
PROCEDURE
UNIFORM PROVISIONS
Key Phrase at the end:
“… who ARE admitted” (or in simple terms those who qualify to enter)
There is NOT A SINGLE WORD or PHRASE throughout this Act that MANDATES Immigration to OCCUR nor even deals with qualifications to be admitted … it is a process to admit those who qualify.
There is nothing in the Refugee Act of 1980 that justifies the judges ruling nor that even applies in this case. It’s an admission procedure and has absolutely nothing to do with setting criteria nor deciding who gets to enter.
Seems the Judges opposing the Administration’s effort are trying amend the law on the fly, from the bench
Secretary of state Rubio’s instructions to train the Embassy and Consular staff’s with respect to the screening process of potential immigrants even falls outside the Refugee Act of 19080 because the screening is being used ti identify “who qualifies for admission” to move onto the next steps of orderly and “uniform provisions” to immigrate.
Hugely restrict military age or younger males as well as women of reproductive age. Both should be banned from entry. Just a little restructuring in the process can weed them out politically conservatively correct speak. We can do it too.
Do H1B visas include airport workers? There are a lot of jobs at airports Americans are missing out on.
After the coming Civil War, when Law and Order is restored, anyone who commits a crime in this country will be subject to deportation. Illegal, legal, or citizen. From murder to jay walking. “Broken Windows Deportation”.
