Actually the solution to Social Security is for Congress to stop spending the money that the Social Security taxes take in. All taxes the federal government takes in get put in the general fund. Congress in turn spends those taxes and then writes Social Security a IOU which is added to the national debt. A large portion of the national debt is money the government owes itself via Social Security debt. There is no Social Security lock box.
Another solution would be to raise the income limit of the Social Security tax. As of 2023 you only pay Social Security Tax on the first 160K of income. Remember, Social Security is a Insurance program and by law the government doesn’t have to pay you a dime. But if they didn’t pay there would be a real insurrection.

To say gold and silver are worthy, though, is a different statement than
“Gold will end the Fed.”
That particular statement may mean many things, including from unexpected directions.
I have been watching the movement and repatriation of gold for at least 5 years. I watched Basel III be moved into place by mysterious unseen forces. I saw China unexpectedly announce twice recently that it increased its supply of gold by vast quantities. Then a couple of weeks ago there was the revelation from Australia that some of the gold sent to China wasn’t as advertised.
Very few discuss or analyze this set of moves, but Tom Luongo is one.
If you want to see a broker’s mind get bent, just ask him about how a return to the gold standard would affect investment strategies. All you get in response is “does not compute. ” The whole concept is completely foreign to the younger American mind.
In any event, “gold will end the fed” as a phrase is just slightly less mysterious than “watch the water ” if you get my drift.

SS is just a glorified ponzi scheme where many employed folks subsidize one persons SS annual payout. I gave my gut opinion on this a week ago…I think this is related to the FTX/Alameda Research fraud. I think these banks were being used to launder stolen money. And now that the investigation is close to a court hearing…evidence of this fraud became widely known among depositors in the world of crypto finance. And THAT MAD RUSH to remove deposits before it caused a cascade of ADDITIONAL FEAR AND STRESS on the crypto industry is what actually caused both the insolvency AND the specific laser like mobilization to bail them out…with tax payer money of course…I mean why not right..you have an inregulated “securities” industry with perhaps trillions of real dollars in a global virtual currency market…the vast amount likely linked to criminal networks and drug operations and other criminal money laundering schemes..and what does the USG do when there is a risk that this industry is going to take shellacing? bail them out of course..and LIE about what is actually going on. It is also my opinion that when we use the classic “follow the money” to solve conspiracies, we will find that much more difficult as an attribution method when dealing with crypto based criminal activity.

Is there anybody out there as old as me that remembers one of the last of the Old Vaudevillians that had a few appearances on some of the TV shows, back around the 50’s or so.. Shows like Red Skelton and Jack Benny, That looked just like Janet Yellen, in the face and was a little heavy set – not like Jackie Gleason, though… I don’t think he had much hair always had a sloppy hat on similar to the ones Red Skelton wore for his Clem Kadiddlehopper role, and staggered and slurred his speech very badly. I called my Ohio congressman when I first heard rumblings about cutting SS and Medicare benefits in the budget. I told the staffer who answered that I resented the idea of cutting our retirement benefits, which I had paid into my whole adult life — and meanwhile, millions of our tax dollars are funding Ukraine pensions. (He did not know that we were paying for the Ukraine pensions.) Ironically, the next day was when Kevin McCarthy stated that SS and Medicare cuts were off the table.
P.S. Bill Cassidy reminds me of Bill Hader from SNL.
