Tucker Carlson has kicked a hornet’s nest by broadcasting the January 6, 2021, footage on his television show and outlining the violent insurrection narrative as a false premise. Given the nature of the entire apparatus of government and media that is now united against him, it will be interesting to see if Carlson’s TV show survives.
Standing in front of the cameras earlier this afternoon, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell blasted Fox News and Tucker Carlson specifically for misrepresenting the events that McConnell says he experienced. “It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict (January 6th) in a way that’s completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.” WATCH:

I was just now thinking: why did then-Senate Majority Leader McConnell allow all three of Trump’s SCOTUS nominations to go through, especially the last one, Amy Coney Barrett, hers so close to the 2020 election, when he had prevented Merrick Garland’s from proceeding a couple of years’ earlier for that reason? I think Mitch thought that allowing Trump his more Conservative picks, esp re: abortion rights, would fire up the Democrats so much that they would easily defeat Trump in 2020, which is something he and a lot of Republicans devoutly wished for. The whole pandemic mess and mail-in voting accomplished that, and the Dems couldn’t juggle too many protests about SCOTUS nominees when a lot of them, including Mitch, were in elections themselves that year.
Not similar situations. In 2016 Obama’s time was done and a new president would be elected. Turtle rationalized to allow that new president to exercise the choice. In 2020, Trump could be re-elected (and actually was) remain as the president.
Given Garland’s record since then, we dodged a very big bullet when he was kept out of SCOTUS.
What have those Hand-Picked SC Nominees accomplished? Nothing…just as McConnell knew going in. McConnell tied Trump’s hands with those nominees.

McConnell held a document signed by the current Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger. On January 6, 2021 Mr. Manger was a living in comfortable retirement–he had retired in 2019 as Chief of the Montgomery County, Maryland Police Department.
In July 2021, he accepted Nancy Pelosi’s request to become Capitol Police Chief.
Therefore, Mr. Manger’s knowledge of Jan 6 events is based on hearsay, MSM reportage, and whatever parts of the Capitol video tapes he has taken the time to watch.
In contrast, the actual Capitol Chief on Jan 6, Steven Sund, who was personally present on the scene, attributed the problems in the Capitol to unanimous assurances from the FBI, Secret Service and D.C. Metro Police, that they did not expect any unusual violence to occur, beyond minor skirmishes that occurred in Nov and Dec 2020, and therefore, calling in the National Guard to provide enhanced security was unnecessary.
Nancy Pelosi demanded Chief Sund’s resignation on Jan 7, and he complied. Ex-Chief Sund has a BS ad MS from Johns Hopkins, and a master’s in national security from the Naval Postgraduate School.
McConnell’s prop is cheap Kentucky snake-oil salesmanship. We don’t even know if Chief Manger actually composed the document that McConnell pulled out of his pocket. It could have been written by a Pelosi lawyer or staffer, and presented by Pelosi to Manger to obediently sign.
But nobody asked that simple question, our MSM is the problem. Turn it off, isn’t enough obviously because people won’t. You have to pour the koolaide out on the ground, rip it from the hands of those drinking it.

While I am agreeing with all the comments about Mitch, I am not feeling the same about the peaceful protests is 1969-71. I attended college/Applied Science and Engineering. The protesters took over the campuses and the Union. They took over the parking lots. The liberal arts college let their students “out” for the remainder of the school year while we had to attend classes. We had “peaceful” protesters sitting on our desk, screaming at us and the instructors. When we would move to a secure location, the “peaceful protesters” banged on our doors. We stayed to the end of that semester and suffered in our learning. We were forced from the Student Union under physical threat. We approached the Provost for the University. Well, he was having a “sit-in” with the “peaceful protesters” and could not talk to us. And the us in this case were recent military veterans. At the time, I thought we were o “on the right side”. Now I know I was wrong. We are wrong in Ukraine and in most of the world. The song I like the most is “Eve of Destruction”. Listen to it. It is today as it was then. BTW, the ones let out os classes for the semester were the liberal arts/teachers student.

As I have mentioned in another comment, the ‘Hippie movement’ splintered. There were those that were most definitely peaceful, and those mostly gunned down at Kent State fell into that branch. There were also the burnouts who succumbed to the drugs that I’ve always believed were intentionally allowed into our country to ‘thin the herd’ as they did with Nam and are doing today. ..Same old playbook. This is unedited video, not the skillfully edited video of the impeachment trials. There are a lot of hours left. We will see if who started the riot. Did the Capitol police let people in, lock them in and turn on them? Did antifa and BLM agitators start the riot? Did the FBI agents, informer, and agitators start the riot? Tucker Carlson presents facts, unedited tapes of capital Police escorting the “Shaman” on a tour of the Capitol building including offices. Peaceful people some carrying American flags peacefully are inside the Capital. They entered through the large heavy doors that are locked from the inside.
Did Nancy Pelosi order the doors to be opened? She was in charge of security.
Tucker also showed unedited tapes of the Capitol Police firing on the crowd outside the Capitol.

This is what I keep thinking, If I were a crazed lefty or antifa type and if I wanted to put President Trump supporters in a bad light I would get me some MAGA gear and go smash some windows. I have seen footage of antifa type people in their antifa gear coming down the stairs as the first people were entering the capital, I have also seen footage of people actually putting on MAGA gear outside the buildings apparently hiding behind some trees and the person taking the video saying something like “look I caught you”. So every time I hear our people say the Trump people were peaceful and the counter point is “but they were smashing windows and fighting police” I say how do you KNOW they were MAGA people. Because of a hat?
Smashing windows is a antifa trademark as much as an actual fingerprint, MAGA people don’t smash anything and after dozens of rallies and no broken anything it seems obvious it was a set up.
I will also say this, if me and my friends (we are not the beta types) were standing in an area peacefully and got flash bombed or sprayed with what ever the hell the police were spraying , well I’m not sure we would have stood there and took it.
