There are also reports today that consumer debt has exploded.
If people are working more but producing less, while spending less, and also putting that spending into consumer debt, the economy is not healthy.
The new jobs are being taken by people who need second and third jobs, not people entering the workforce. These are low paying jobs with little or no benefits, and as consumer spending contracts these jobs will being to disappear even though more people will be looking for such jobs to get by. Then will come the credit card defaults.
Unfortunately most courts would probably determine that Joe Biden is mentally incompetent and not responsible for his actions.

Inflation is when a glut of money cheapens the value of the money. For instance, if everyone had $1,000,000 lying around, I wouldn’t sell my car for $5000, I might try $50,000.
But the disposable income just dropped by 6.4%, which means there is not a glut of money, quite the opposite.
So why do people say there’s inflation?
You’re speaking of demand side inflation. What we are experiencing is a whole different animal and unfamiliar to a majority of the American people: supply side inflation. The type of inflation (supply side) we are experiencing is due to artificially suppressed production of the most basic raw material that drives our whole economy: OIL. When everything associated with the manufacturing, production, transportation of said goods requires oil then you have the type of inflation you are talking about (demand side) but in the price of oil not in dollars. The increased prices we are experiencing are due to increased costs of oil in each and every step of bringing those goods to market all the while still maintaining an adequate price for the manufacturer to meet their financial obligations of running their business.

That word should be saved for those cases where the increase in money supply cheapens its value. If you use that word for everything, you hide the cause underneath complex jargon. They probably do that on purpose.
Case in point: they’re “trying to fight inflation” by increasing interest rates. That explanation only makes remote sense if inflation was caused by too much money supply, which obviously is not the problem: as you pointed out.
