The timing here is genuinely ridiculous. It’s as if the federal government, specifically the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, led by… Richard Trumka Jr (yes, that guy’s son)… doesn’t think or care that we can see the real issue is to change energy uses.
Now that Russia has been isolated from natural gas sales, the European Union needs the supply of all other natural gas markets in order to keep itself from freezing to death. Simultaneously, natural gas as an energy resource is now bad, terrible like oil and coal, amid the climate change cult.
So, they need to change the narrative and stop people from using natural gas appliances.
Suddenly, after generations of natural gas appliances existing in almost half of the kitchens, suddenly the appliances are toxic, dangerous and likely to require a ban against use.
(Bloomberg) – A federal agency says a ban on gas stoves is on the table amid rising concern about harmful indoor air pollutants emitted by the appliances.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to take action to address the pollution, which can cause health and respiratory problems. “This is a hidden hazard,” Richard Trumka Jr., an agency commissioner, said in an interview. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”
Natural gas stoves, which are used in about 40% of homes in the US, emit air pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and fine particulate matter at levels the EPA and World Health Organization have said are unsafe and linked to respiratory illness, cardiovascular problems, cancer, and other health conditions, according to reports by groups such as the Institute for Policy Integrity and the American Chemical Society. Consumer Reports, in October, urged consumers planning to buy a new range to consider going electric after tests conducted by the group found high levels of nitrogen oxide gases from gas stoves.
New peer-reviewed research published last month in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health found that more than 12% of current childhood asthma cases in the US can be attributed to gas stove use. (read more)
Its peer reviewed they say. Carved in stone tablets it must be… Just like the vaccine and other health papers and studies… Swear.
Comrade citizens, you must gather twigs, carry flint rocks, eat bugs and sustainable algae cakes, and adapt your parasitic lifestyle to become the best citizen that planet earth deserves. There can be no gas appliances in your tiny house.
All good comrade citizens who care about their carbon footprint are removing gas stoves and returning to heating water atop open fires in order to comply with the permitted bathing requirement each month, while staying safely your water distribution allotment.

Seems like a good time to have access to firewood and water rights.
I don’t trust the gov’t, and I served 20 years. I have a small home with my wife and we have 3 ways to heat it….as I said, I don’t trust the gov’t.
I kind of like my gas water heater and furnace. I guess I’m a domestic terrorist now.
me, too.
Sharon: I’ll be conspiring on my gas stove this evening.
Hee-hee-hee-hee….yup! I conspired on mine at noon. With predictable results.
And I enjoyed it.
Me too- It’s used every way possible in my home.
Ma is just now consuming my hot conspiracy.
We lost electric power for a few hours today due to the storms in CA. The gas heaters don’t work w/ou the electric ignitions. Luckily it wasn’t that cold where I live.
But with a very basic generator you are fine presuming you have a way of connecting power to it. I went so far as to install a meter bypass switch with a 220V connection to my mains. I can power everything I need to survive that way, and keep my fridges and deep freezer OK. Probably can turn on my oven or use my dryer, but that’s about it.
Presuming you have plenty of gasoline stockpiled to fuel your generator. I have a whole house generator that runs on propane, along with my stovetop burners and two large heaters. This initiative refers to natural gas which is not available where I live…I wonder if they’ll include propane which us non-city dwellers use.
Have friends who live deep in the woods 20 miles away and they have a wood burning truck, 4 wheeler and generator.
they are fortunate to be so talented to make those fuel conversions. That work is beyond my capabilities and I know of nobody in the area that does that.
It’s somewhat amazing, but there is a large group of people who support one another in building and using wood burning vehicles.
Those same friends supported a young man from Georgia who decided to make a cross-country trip promoting wood burning vehicles. The young man had to have support from like-minded people, since he would need to “fuel up” along the way from Georgia to Washington state and back home again.
Our friends supplied his fuel for that leg of his trip. Was cool to meet such a free thinking young patriot.
Well, Obama just installed a huge propane tank at his house on the vineyard so I’m gonna guess propane isn’t going anywhere.
wouldn’t put my money on that
Can’t you turn it on and put a lighter to it? Isn’t electric ignition just to light it?
Some gas appliances incorporate a flame rectification heat sensor that would need ac current to continue operation of the gas supply.
I think you need a fan to blow the hot air out. It’s probably a forced air heater.
It’s complicated. Our dual fuel range recently had a short (discovered when it was repaired). We could still use the gas burners by lighting them, but we had to hold the knob in for 30-45 seconds before a burner would stay lit. The gas oven pilot light worked, but we couldn’t light the burner, which needs electricity for a reason I don’t know. I had always assumed that in a power outage we’d be able to use the gas oven. Wrong.
If you have matches you can light you burners and take the chill off… just sayin
Had a power outage a few days ago that fought me a similar lesson. Heater is gas, but thermostat and blower are electric.
There’s a way to ignite it with a lighter if you read the manual. We’ve done it when the flame went out .
When our electric has gone out we just turn on our Natural Gas stove. The top burners as well as the oven. It keeps our small apartment very cozy.
Cookstove, clothes dryer, water heater, and 3 zone home heater. We are gas customers.
Yep. And I kinda like my gas heater with simulated logs in my living room.
Guess that makes me a natural gas user global warming domestic terrorist too.
Whats next my propane gas grill?
Yes and if you are an adorable deplorable, grey hair, old man (xy chromosome), Trump supporter, MAGA, non vaxed, non masked, gun owner, charitable organization volunteer, and not on the dole you will qualify for additional Fizzy Lifting Bubbles to be added to your eternal HALO.
Ditto. And my natural gas cooktop and my natural gas powered emergency standby generator.
All three of my indoor gas appliances are externally vented. So they can take their BS scare tactics about unsafe emissions and shove them up where they make their own methane.
Nah, we good. We gots the majority in the house now. Aint gonna happen. Lots of new MAGA “lawmakers” in their now after the fake Midterm election. But, at least we gonna do an investigation or something and if that aint enough we got season 2 with all new episodes of the Twitter Files.
lol
They’ll get my gas stove over my cold dead body…oven mitts and all!
😂. Excellent Betsy. I want you in my fox hole.
DD
On my way, Dan!!!
I am an italian momma who loves to cook. Try and take my gas stove and we will see who gets hit by the wooden spoon…
Nothing like a gas stove to cook.
Moved 7 years ago and went from a big flame, high delivery gas stove to an electric oven. Going from city to country life has lots of positives, and for sure that was one of the negatives.
Get a tank and upgrade, cooking with electric sux
us too! we moved to a new place in florida and it was electric. Told hubs and family if they ever want a good meal again they would get gas put in. Voila we have gas…had to have the county come in and everything….when Momma is happy everyone is happy 🙂
You can convert yo propane.
I was thinking about that myself where we live.
Michele, what time is dinner? That wooden spoon adds flavor, and I want a gas cooked meal!
can’t cook a big pot of sauce (yeah, its sauce not gravy in my house) all day at a low simmer with electric..Dinner for the treehouse crew would be so much fun!!
Could you imagine a CTH potluck dinner out in the middle of redneck nowhere, FL?
I’ll be there with bells on!
I’ll bet that’s gonna hurt! I know mommas and their wooden spoons.
Do like my mom, though – don’t just him ’em once!
I have cooked on gas stoves for decades and love them. So do chefs. Ever seen a fine restaurant with an electric range?
Gimme a break with the micromanagement already.
Are they going to give restaurants a pass?
The chefs in Canada have been all up in arms about the gov up there trying to take their ranges. It’s incredible.
My Canadian friends have been taking about it. Truedope is not giving them a pass last I heard.
Little Potato needs a pass to the Marianas Trench.
French laundry will get a pass (that was Gavins spot when Cali was closed to us regulars)
🦗 🐞 🐛 🐜 don’t need to be heated.
-crunch
I wonder if my mother’s old wood stove, circa 1932, is still around somewhere.
Wood stoves, next on the chopping block
“Products that cannot be made safe can be banned.”
‘Safe and effective’ ring a bell?
And by safe we mean perfectly safe because under Totalitarian Fascist Utopia there can be no risk.
Can we get rid of the private jets that the “elite” fly in? They crash you know.
Not often enough it seems.
Apparently, “safe” is the magic word to ensure compliance. Everyone seems to choose “safety” over “freedom.” Pavlovian, it is. Utterly sick of the language bastardization for propaganda purposes, and deeply contemptuous of the muddled masses who never get the nuance.
/sigh
This bad idea started in California. It was a bad idea then, it’s a bad idea now. This will just speed up the destruction of the Middle Class!
They will lose bigly if they push this all of Obama’s 57 states…I can see it happening now.
NO! How do we stop these tyrants?
Mass executions.
😉
public mass executions..on the steps of the supreme court
and public whippings for lessor crimes
I have a long list.
all convicted should be made to watch those before them, front row seats.
maybe locked up for about a year to contemplate.
Is this cruel and unusual punishment?
the answer to that would seem to me be based on the nature of the treason and whether than individual had sworn an oath or had acted AS A SPY. This is how I look at it. Swearing an oath and then committing treason is special type of crime. Conducting spying and using that spy activity to commit further crimes is an aggravating factor to the offense of treason. This is how I look at it, even if this is not how our justice system and courts handle these kinds of cases.
I think washington would agree with these applications of justice, considering we are definitely at war with domestic enemies who have demonstrated by their actions to destroy and persecute a duly elected president…and many other things they have done.
execute them all. the time locked up isn’t sufficient. If the rogue agents operating the deep state do not see severe consequences there is no deterrence.
God Bless America
That’s the only truly important question. They’re not suddenly going to have an epiphany and turn away from the “dark side.” What they do is bred in the bone and can’t be changed. They’re driven to do what psychopaths do because they are evil, have no conscience, believe they are always right and justified in whatever they do. They can also learn to be charming and seductively manipulative. Be afraid, be very afraid — unless we find a way to stop them.
I will only cook on a gas range. They will have to kill me first.
I’m Sure you already know how ready and willing the WEF Globslists are to exterminate billions of “unnecessary” humans (in their opinion).
The poison VAXX didn’t work as well as planned (too many got smart and didn’t take it plus not all batches were sufficiently toxic) so cutting off both energy and natural food are next on their diabolical plan.
Chefs were ticked over salt- I can’t imagine their reactions to this clown show.
How is this going to work exactly?
As I recall NYS BANNED ALL OUTDOOR WOOD FURNACES in the year of 2010.
In 2009 my next door neighbor invested in a brand new outdoor wood furnace.
To this very day, that 2009 outdoor wood furnace is still functioning and to the best of knowledge NO ONE in any Authoritative Capacity has approached the home owner one way or another.
So, just how are the Feds going to go about banning all gas operated appliances in the United States of America?
I see a possibility of a “peaceful protest” on the horizon of about 150 million Americans who own and operate a gas appliance.
Think they can “Ja 6” 150 million legal Americans?
“How is this going to work exactly?”
Elites (aka parasites) are exempted, peons starve and freeze.
Pixie dust and Unicorn farts. That’s how it’ll work.
Simple. They will turn off the gas by destroying the producing industry – it is already happening. They are taking away agriculture, fire, the wheel, soon we will be regressing thru Iron to Bronze and ultimately to Stone, again.
You are an unfortunate inconvenience. They need you to be dead. They mean to accomplish that. Believe it.
…and they can make the transport of any energy source prohibitively expensive. We’ve already seen how that works, both regard to the energy and with regard to products that that energy might be able to move from Point A to Point B.
They may try it BUT trying it, and succeeding at it are two totally different results.
I strongly contend they will fail miserably.
“Richard Trumka Jr.”………Senior was AFL-CIO President
The AFL-CIO was all for the little guy, right ?
It’s “All in the Family”./sarc
Inside city limits one cannot build a fire.
So collecting firewood and flint wouldn’t help.
And there aren’t enough coats and hats in all the world to keep someone like me warm.
RIDICULOUS.
The only way this will really end, is when they are all asked to leave; by one way or another. Draw your own inference.
In the past the CPSC had to get a complaint before they would act, or a referral from US Customs if an import. Samples would then go their lab for testing.
They only have a few hundred employees, and no offices except DC. They are purposely kept small so they don’t hamper business.
So, are they testing gas ovens in their lab as a result of a complaint ir referral? Or did Trumka get an email?
It’s hyperbolic BullShit.
Get the masses upset over their gas stove and they won’t mind a little bit the DOJ/NSD, FBI, CIA, etal snooping on all of their telephone conversations, or social media accounts or even the TV shows they watch.
What do you think the ‘smart appliances’ are all about?
Over my dead body.
That’s their hope for us.
The world is quickly going to shit.
We’re knee deep.
The only way to combat this energy nonsense is start naming the conmen getting the dollars for green energy that doesn’t work and isn’t green.
WE never fight with the right strategies.
Try taking those gas stoves from fine restaurants.
Gavin Gruesome’s favorite restaurants are exempt.
A whole lot of restaurant’s would be forced to close and then where would all of DC and their fat-cat cronies eat?
Here in SoCal, which is full of easily extractable oil & natural gas [off limits of course], we are expecting a massive increase in nat’l gas prices for us homeowners who choose to heat our homes. Luckily, I’ve stocked up several cords of seasoned wood and have been making very liberal use of my fireplace; just a bit more off gassing than nat’l gas, though. So I guess I’m doing ‘my part’ to fight globull warming!
I’m in the same boat with seasoned wood and using our fireplaces. On the next door app- I find lots of people giving it away. It’s the main reason I still use that app. Plus, I’m a moderators 🫣 not sure why they picked me. Lol
Hey, I was once a Nielsen family. Not she why they picked me, either!
The “hidden hazard” of cooking with natural gas is so well hidden that no one has ever observed or experienced said hazard.
Of course, California has already announed plans to ban natural gas stoves and heating, around the end of the decade. Taking the CA controllers at their word, and being proactive, I am going to order myself a dandy, vintage-style camping tea kettle that uses twigs, paper and other combustible materials to boil water.
…. “The “hidden hazard” of cooking with natural gas is so well hidden that no one has ever observed or experienced said hazard.”…..
🙂 🙂 🙂
Let’s not forget this horrendous gem –
The hidden hazard of cow farts is so well hidden that no one has ever observed or experienced said hazard.
And the beat goes on…and the beat goes on…
Sort of like how we have to protect the youngins from covid by ruining their lives with jabs, masks and lockdowns.
It’s almost as bad as smoking cigarettes!!!
Gas water heaters (yeah, I have two because I’m a monster), gas furnace, and six burner gas cooktop. Come and take mutha f’ers. That WILL be my last stand.
I was thinking about getting a new natural gas fired boiler for the house this year. The old one is 30 years old. Sounds like I need to get it ordered.
Next thing you know, we won’t be able to heat our homes with wood stoves. Never mind, that’s already being prohibited in places.
Oh you mean the ban on “non-EPA Approved” wood stoves? The type that has a catalytic burner up near the chimney? Strange, been using my “EPA approved” wood stove for the last 3 years with the catalytic burner removed for cleaning that’s never found its way back into the stove.
Natural gas fireplaces to be put on the evil list and banned too ?
That’s not gonna fly in Cali- all those designer kitchens and fancy restaurants- no bueno. I can see libs taking a stand here as well.
You don’t know libs very well. There’s climate nazis out there that want to off themselves for the betterment of Mother Earth. Their denial and ignorance knows no bounds. If you’ve lived in Cali for more than 13 minutes you know this.
You could be correct. But all the libs I know are spoiled asf actors. Still- they all ha their teslas right now- so the news could convince them to hate their wolf and Viking appliances too 💯
The propane BBQ is next, can’t use charcoal and light fluid. We’ll have to put the meat on some rocks sitting in the sun. But I forgot no meat either. Maybe we can have insects under a magnifying glass.
We’re the insects under the magnifying glass to these pricks.
Puzzled: Today’s plug-in electric bug zapper is tomorrow’s outdoor grill.
Best laugh of the day. Thanks!
They gonna get rid of the sterno stove next. No more canned heat!
That’s funny! Well done.
This will not end at gas stoves, eventually propane furnaces for rural people will be included, also bbq grills. Cooking meat is eeevl, ya know. S/
And if everyone is supposed to purchase electric cars to save the planet, how will the electric stoves turn on when there is a brownout. Hypocritical idiots.
So, they gonna pull them out of every restaurant in the country? SMH
They had no difficulty shutting them all down for a sniffle and a cough.
As someone who cooks frequently if not every day, I will acquire several LAW missiles and military grade mortars to defend my kitchen. This is crossing my red line. No more discussion.
I have 5 cords split and under cover this winter, the most I’ve ever done. Last year I had two cords and I ran out. I have read Sundance for years now and as I am prepared as I can be. The greenie nonsense is non stop. Just ignore it.
I go through two cords a year (regular Christmas gift from my son), do the splitting myself with a nifty 5-T electric splitter. Nothing like the warmth of a wood-fed fire.
Only funny mistake I’ve made with it is that–the Sunday after I got it, I was so terribly pleased, doncha know, that I shared about my brand new splitter that was sitting in my garage…. in a small talk conversation at church.
Then a rancher/farmer/woodsman (central Oregon–this is who “the people” are in Oregon once you get out of the metro left zombie zones…) this nice gentleman courteously shared, with a twinkle in his eye, that the only lot splitter he had was standing out in his yard…and it was a 35T. Funny.
When my firewood man comes to deliver wood each fall (he also raises Christmas trees and beef cattle–things that all work together to keep his hundreds of acres of woods CLEAN and USEFUL)….boy, don’t get him started. He’s in his late 70’s (aren’t we all) and has been present for every bit of crap the left has tried to kill Oregon agriculture with, and they’re still at it.
These fuqers should be roasted over a gas stove. On PPV. After a fair trial of course.
As fair as they’ve been to us.
If the weather is very cold and the electricity goes off, a natural gas stove of fireplace could make the difference between freezing to death and not freezing to death.
At that point in time what difference does it make ?
The Dark Ages are returning.
And in more ways than one.
I’m wondering if my Dem family members will finally question Dem policies. They all live in cold areas and have gas furnaces and gas ranges.
Gotta love the excuse now. It’s a “health hazard” despite people cooking with natural gas appliances since, what, the 1930’s?
Wait until they ban propane grills
How am I supposed to grill my bug burgers ?
Their new slogan will be “You will EAT nothing and be happy.” No bugs for you! How DARE you!
Well what about Obama’s 25000 gallon propane tank installed last year or year before. Propane has a higher btu content, is often used rurally. Whereas NG has to be piped in from a utility provider. Other than the specific gravity and btu factor there really is little difference in propane verses natural gas. They will go after propane next but, not for the elite just us peons.
NG can be turned off by the supplier. Propane will only last until the tank is empty. At 25,000 gallons of propane how long do you think Obama plans to try and hide out on MV. That should be a good indicator of how long THEY think the revolution will last.
He only has 2,500 total.
He’ll be in Hawaii for that…
Waiting for them to ban the worst offender of them all, fire.
Don’t forget the wheel !
Eat raw insects. Salt to taste.
Doesn’t supposedly being concerned with “health hazards” conflict with the WEF depopulation agenda ?
Don’t woodstoves emit all kinds of stuff into the air too? Are they next on the ban list?
Some states have already banned them.
No fricking way !
The alternative to gas (which we have plenty of in this country), is to cook, heat your water and your homes with electricity, putting a further strain on an already overloaded, intermittent and failure prone grid. Throw in the government’s insistence on switching to electric cars and ignoring warnings to harden the grid against cyber attacks, this is just another example of Biden getting it wrong. The question is, just how long will the people put up with such grand and overreaching diktats.
The ‘grid’ has less than 1/10 the capacity needed to distribute the electricity needed for an all electric society. Copper production (strip mining) will need to be increased 50 times in order to make all the wire, motors, batteries, etc. But that is not ‘the plan’. Have to cut electrical power demand to about 25% of current usage. Hmmm, how do you suppose they are planning on doing that?
Gas water heaters and furnaces are vented outside. The claims against them are blatant lies.
A cook stove with a vent hood is no problem. Before vent hoods they were not a problem either.
Gas tankless water heaters at each station of use is the cheapest, most efficient in terms of both water use and energy use and have no exhaust issues if they are vented outside.
I am old enough and hardheaded enough to go back to cooking with wood. The food tastes better cooked on wood anyway.
All you need to know is if the world health organization is involved, it is not about your health, it is about lowering your standard of living, and turning us into surfs. Or perhaps killing us, like with the jab.
The insanity of the federal government turning our sovereignty over to a marxist organization.
The new congress should tell the world health organization, go to hell.
“… Richard Trumka, Jr. …” – hmmmm, that name sounds familiar. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
My propane appliances and bottles carry CO (Carbon Monoxide) warnings on them, when, in actual, physical chemical fact, the byproducts of propane combustion are CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), H2O (water vapor), and heat.
They lie to your face. Now Nitrogen (N2) has become the latest deadly pollutor, even though it comprises some 70% of our planetary atmosphere. Dutch farms are being bought out and sacrificed now on the altar of “Duh Climate!!!” due to the use of nitrogenic compounds as fertilizer that fuels the greatest agricultural revolution in history.
They want you dead. Take that to heart, internalize it, and never forget it.
Truth!!
