Part of the successful negotiations amid the 21 congressional holdouts to the McCarthy speakership, was a pledge to create a subcommittee styled after the Frank Church committee. The purpose of the subcommittee would be to investigate the intelligence apparatus of the U.S. government and the conflicting intersections created by the unconstitutional surveillance state.
It appears from a review of the 6-page framework [See Proposal HERE], the subcommittee will fall under the jurisdiction of the House Judiciary Committee which will likely be chaired by Jim Jordan (R-OH). The framework of the committee as it is surfacing would be structured to have investigative authorities into U.S. intelligence operations, Homeland Security, FBI and DOJ-NSD activity. Readers here are very familiar with how the intelligence and national security interests have risen to control almost every institution of government. CTH has deeply outlined how these intelligence departments and homeland security systems have enmeshed to control the executive, legislative and judicial branch of government.
What this committee appears to be motivated toward, and what Massie is outlining in that interview, is the process of going into each of the purposefully created information silos (CIA, DHS, ODNI, FBI, DOJ-NSD etc), reviewing their operational missions, extracting the evidence of their activity and then cross-referencing with unconstitutional outcomes.
The subcommittee has a noble goal; however, the success or lack thereof will ultimately come down to the personnel choices on and in the committee itself. Additionally, and this is a major hurdle, the subcommittee is going to run head-first into the Senate Intelligence Committee obstruction and disinformation system.
The operational mission of the current Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI), is entirely to stop any government action that might impede, investigate or attempt to remove the Fourth Branch of Government the Senate has created. The SSCI, the U.S. Intelligence Community and the Dept of Homeland Security will target this House Subcommittee, the members, the staffers and their families, with extreme prejudice.
WASHINGTON DC – A proposed subcommittee to investigate “weaponization” of the federal government — a key demand of House conservatives who delivered Speaker Kevin McCarthy the gavel — would be given sweeping investigatory powers that include explicit authority to review “ongoing criminal investigations.”
The language of the proposed “select subcommittee,” which would operate under the Judiciary Committee expected to be chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), also gives the panel power to access any information shared with the House Intelligence Committee. That panel typically receives the highest-level classified intelligence and briefings of any committee in Congress.
Both provisions appear to have been added during final negotiations between McCarthy and a band of hardline detractors that briefly denied him the speakership. An earlier version of the proposal made no mention of ongoing criminal investigations or the Intelligence Committee and limited the probe to the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice. I’m not sure, heck, check that… I’m absolutely certain the House members putting this committee together have no clue the scale of opposition they are about to run into. The institutions of the United States intelligence apparatus, both foreign and domestic, will destroy anyone who attempts to confront them.
Hopefully the committee will consist of unmarried men or unmarried women, without families, and without attachment to any lifestyle they would wish to retain. The more progress any subcommittee would make, the more they would be at risk.

They will simply waste our time and money and the end result will be an extremely long and expensive report that will hold no one accountable and will not even come close to fixing the problems. Given a choice between investigations and no investigations, I will choose investigations as they at least might produce something whereas no investigations will produce nothing.

Intel Community, Harry Truman’s regret over creating the CIA, Ike’s admonitions, along with those of our first President, former General WAshington, JFK’s fears, the change in power that occurred when the Patriot Act was signed into law, etc.
The speech needs to be balanced, but it needs to make clear to the American people that no only do they not have privacy, neither do their reps, and all people are open to extortion, even when there is no law breaking .

I once watched a video of the very young Jim Jordan competing in a state championship wrestling match. His opponent was larger, skilled and very strong. Jordan held his own with defensive tactics and calm calculation..
The match went on and on for a very long time. Finally his opponent began fray around the edges, to tire.
Then, with endless stamina, Jordan shifted to offence, methodically dismantled his opponent, and won the match.
He would have been my first choice for Speaker.

What’s galling is that they had to go to this length to get McCarthy even to let them investigate. That tells you where McCarthy and nearly all of the GOP reps in Congress stand on this issue. No wonder it has gotten so flagrant.

A good starting point to me would be an in person interview of Sundance so he could give him an in depth tutorial on the “silos”, the Fourth Branch of Government, the deep state and the massive corruption he has discovered. Short of that Rep. Massie should start reading all of Sundance’s work, get a complete copy of all his works on the Fourth Branch of Government start there then spread outward like ripples in a pond!!! That might get him to catchup where we are!!! This would only happen if he was really serious about finding the truth and exposing it!! That is yet to be determined!! I was personally very upset that kevin was finally “elected” to be the Squeaker of the House. IMESHO, there were at least a dozen better qualified and competent people for that job, and I have zero confidence in kevin’s “leadership”. The “leadership” of mcconnell and mccarthy is an absolute bad joke, and, IMESHO, bad for the nation.
However, the next most important political position is the Chairperson of the RNC, and the nation needs a strong MAGA candidate in that position. The current Chairperson needs to be replaced with a MAGA candidate, and either Giuliani or Lindell would be my choice, Haley Barbour might be a very good candidate, but I know nothing about Harmeet Dhillon. IMESHO, the RNC can have the resources to conduct a major LAWFARE attack on the Uniparty follies, and provide the public exposure and legal practices to halt much of the current insanity. I will not contribute one penny to the RNC until they have an appropriate Chairperson.
BTW, my “Rep” voted consistently for kevin, and I hope to convince and help our district to identify his replacement for 2024.

“Trust but verify” as espoused by Ronald Reagan may have been a valid strategy in the way-back days of the 1980s when he proposed it, but it is wholly inadequate for what we face today. TBV became invalid within a few short years once the Clintons took up residency in the White House and has come to be shown as downright naive over the last 30 years. Trust first, but then embark on the time-consuming and usually fail-ridden process (due to government interference and malfeasance) of verifying that what you trusted is worthy of that trust? No thanks. Since the 1990s, my code has been to trust only after verifying to an absolute degree of certainty that what I am being told is trustworthy. Needless to say (but I will anyway), I haven’t trusted much in the political arena in the last 30 years.

I just looked up Massie on Wicki – yes, i know it’s a biased site. But it has EVERYTHING Massie has stood for and still stands for. To me, he sounds like a true Patriot.

Rita, everyone here has had a post land in awaiting approval line. It occurs for a wide variety of reasons, some of them faulty software, some are misunderstandings, some are due to trolling, some are people getting out of control. It has never been personal, in my experience.
